Droid Incredible Market

I have a Droid Incredible, I got the new Market Up-date now, I can't down Load anything of the market.
It keep telling me that my app is downloading then it re-boots my phone and never gives me the app
Has anyone had this problem or can help me fix it? --Help

i agree with budone. if you downloaded a bad or corrupt app and it caused the problem. it's going to keep doing it. i would just go ahead and hard reset the device (since you just got it, you shouldn't lose too much info). start from scratch. download 1 or 2 apps that you want and then make sure it runs fine. if it does, try one or two more a day later. continue until you find the app that corrupts your device. then uninstall it and forget about that app. i've seen others go through 4 or 5 phones, but i've always suspected that the first thing they do is download all of the same apps (one of which was probably bad). i believe in a little "bad luck" but i just don't think the same person can get 3+bad devices.....especially if it's just one aspect of the devices features that is being affected. usually a faulty device will have numerous issues.

  • Droid Incredible Photo Albums

How do you create photo albums on the droid incredible?  I have found no way to do this on the phone and every pic I take goes into camera shots and all photos folders.
I would like to be able to organize my photos in different albums but cannot figure out how to do it.
    Any help would be appreciated.

HI.  I see you basically want to create different folders for you photos to store pictures.  dabubbakin  is correct.  One way to do it is to hook your phone to your computer to create the folders.  Another way would be do download an application in the application market that will allow you to create folders.  One of those applications is Astro File Manager.
Please let me know if this worked for you.
    Thanks!

  • Motorola Droid X or HTC Droid Incredible or Samsung Fascinate or Wait?

    Hey Guys,
Im currently an At&t customer and I absolutely hate my service. I went with it for the At&t Unity Family Plans and Rollover, but have since found it sucks. I currently use a Blackjack II. Anyways, my contract just ended and Im looking at buying a new phone soon. I am only considering Verizon due to the reputed network reliability.
At this point I have several options in front of me, and I want you guys opinions on what you think is a good phone for me? I generally consume a few GB of data per month, send 2500 texts or so, and talk a little as well. My primary uses are gaming, multimedia, texting, and web browsing. Size isn't an issue, however I do a LOT of multitasking.
Please tell me which of the following is the best phone for me in your opinion?
    Motorola Droid X
    HTC Droid Incredible
    Samsung Fascinate
In addition, after doing so, do you think its worth it to buy now? Or should I wait a few more months and get the rumoured LTE phones or iPhone thats coming to Verizon in late 2010/early 2011.

I want to point out it is not my intention to ruffle any feathers. I used to considered myself a loyal Verizon customer, but maybe after nine years with any carrier you have seen too much of the true nature of the way they conduct business. In Verizon's case it is my opinion in the last three years particularly they have gone over the line in terms of unfair restrictions and misleading terms and pricing. This has been born out in succesful lawsuits ( http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007/10/ny_verizon.html )
( http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=10975100 ) there are more, but you get the idea.
Wicked One regarding Sprint and Verizon Upgrades, I am not sure about that but here is what I understand:
First Off ETF for Sprint is $200 for Verizon it's $350
"Verizon Wireless came under FCC scrutiny in early December after it doubled its ETF for netbooks, smartphones and some feature phones. No official action has been taken on the matter."

    RE: Phone Upgrades
As far as I know Verizon does not offer anything at one year, whereas Sprint does. The catch is what the new phone you are buying will cost you at one year into your two year contract. With Verizon my understanding is at 1 year into your 2 year contract, you pay a $20 upgrade fee and then you can get the new phone you want at a 1 year contract price. So if you were upgrading to a Droid Incredible today under these circumstances you would pay $20 + $269 ($369 - $100 rebate) or $280. With Sprint in the case of the EVO or any other plan where you pay more than $65 month you get the two year price after one year so you would be paying $200.
I wish I could say Verizon is the best, but I have found them to be more focused on pinching money out of our pockets, via weazle marketing gimicks, like "Unlimited" plans that are NOT unlimited, or convincing you that you get more when you actually get less or get a paragraph of restrictions in the small print. Verizon has the best coverage, but that does not balance out any more with me. Most of the time, except when I am traveling in rural areas, I think the other cariers will offer similiar service. I am very close to conducting a personal 30 day test.

  • Droid Incredible for Music

All other Verizon phones I've had have been really horrible for listening to music. How is the Droid Incredible? Is it possible? If so, how is it?

    y0diggity wrote:
The Droid has an adequate music player in it. If you're looking for iPod functionality, you'll be sorely disappointed, I'm afraid. I use mine a lot because the whole "one device" thing works well for me in the car, but it doesn't hold a candle to my iPod. There are alternative players available in the market, but none of them will probably compare to an iPod.
I wonder when iPod and functionality started being used together in a positive light.  It has always amazed me how people worshiped iPod.  Yeah it was a cool device but when it came out technologically it was the most limited and limiting music player on the market.  It took off because well Apple is a marketing giant and they do it really awesome.  It became cool simply because Apple said it was.  Because of its popularity digital music has been in a downward spiral of one way transfers and a single control that operates everything.  So yeah the media players of which there are a ton on the market will have more controls and make it easier to find stuff so you will hate it.  It isn't like the iPod at all.

  • Free Droid Incredible phone deals available elsewhere!

I'm ticked! I upgrade our phones from the Blackberry to the Droid Incredible at a cost of $250($500-$250rebates). Today, I get an email from Dell stating that I can get two free Droid Incredibles with an upgrade and two year contract. So, I google Verizon phone offers and find several other sites that make similar offers. Before I go down and raise some cane @ the local Verizon store, can anyone tell me if I'm waisting my time in trying to get my money back? Yes, I know, some sites state that the offer is only available for new subscribers. Why should I be punished for being a loyal 20 year customer?
    Thanks

I got this offer from Dell also...reading some of the fine print:
This offer is fulfilled by Simplexity, an authorized dealer for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. This offer requires activation with selected AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon Wireless service plans. Verizon Wireless offers are for new accounts only. Offer subject to eligibility check by AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless, including credit approval or deposit for new customers. Offer applies to primary and second lines only. Discount will be invalid if the rate plan is changed to a lower monthly service rate, or if this equipment is transferred to another line of service. Additional restrictions apply. See terms and conditions for details. Not all U.S. markets are served by AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless. Limited Time Offer. See Offer Details.
Note the bolded lines - Although it states new line of service OR UPGRADE on the ad, the find print says NEW ACCOUNTS ONLY - so I'm not sure what really applies.  And as others have said, you can't make changes to your plan or move the phone to another line, along with other fine print not specificed here.
It may very well be terms you can live with - if so, make the deal!  Just be aware of all the restrictions and requirements and then decide if it is the deal for you.

  • Droid incredible 2 clock wiget

I turned my phone on and the whather clock with the wiget does not work will not update

    Hello bigmpowerstroke,
Sorry to hear about your clock widget on your device. I also depend on this widget a lot to provide me with the vital information I need to get through the day, not just for time. May I ask have you tried to delete it and re-add it from the market? If you have done so, what were the results? Also, what software version are you running on your device? The most current software version for the HTC Droid Incredible 2 is HTC_ADR6350_4.08.605.3 and the radio version is 1.09.01.0722_CL20826. If this is your software version and you are still experiencing issue with the widget then the next best option would be to download a 3rd party clock widget app from the Market. Although I am unable to recommend an app, I highly encourage that you review the comments and feedback that was left by other users on the apps that you are interested in.
    Thank you...

  • Droid Incredible and 2.2 os

Will Droid Incredible being sold now upgrade to  Android 2.2 free?

Rumor is it'll have Sense UI along with some added Widgets that HTC has made special for the upgrade. I've learned that HTC does have marketing techniques for not just carriers, but individual phones as well. Example: The EVO may have some really cool feature that the Incredible won't have, and the other way around.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see....

  • Droid Incredible Power button

This has probably asked before. If it has then I apologize. I have the Droid Incredible. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. This is the second HTC phone I have owned. My question is, is there any way to NOT have to push the power button on the top of the phone top get the phone to wake up. This is, simply put, a pain the the derriere. All I want to do is one of these options. Touch the screen, touch a menu button or the optical button. I do not want to touch the power button or the volume control buttons. I have looked on Phandroid forums and tried a variety of screen lock features, but all they do is address the screen swipe. They don't address the power button issue. Can someone help?

@walkinaz08, check out these two applications in the market...
    Proximity Screen Off
    https://market.android.com/details?id=com.itsme4ucz.screenoff&feature=search_result
    Tap Tap App
    https://market.android.com/details?id=net.maicas.android.wsleep&feature=search_result
Both seem to use the proximity sensor instead of a power button. I personally have not tried them, but think that this is what you are looking for...
    Hope this helps!

  • Droid incredible questions: extended battery, issues, battery charging phenomenon, apps

hi. im considering the droid incredible as a possible droid i want to purchase for myself when my contract runs out with my other service provider. ive been researching alot about it and the droid x (another choice) and wanted to ask about some new things that have come up that i would like to know more about.
    1) lately ive been noticing more and more about these extended batteries for the droid incredible that take it from the 1300 mah to 2150 or this big one, the 3500. the 2150 is on the verizon website and stuff while the others are from amazon and other websties. first of all is this safe to have on a phone like this? does having a bigger battery and somethign go wrong with teh phone due to it ruin the warranty or something (thats assuming im using the proper extended battery from verizon store)? is getting a extended battery from another company or store a bad idea, and if so why?
and if any more information about the extended batteries that you could share with me would be great also.
    2) have there been any great issues about the droid incredible that is outside the normal (glithces, restarts, and so forth) that one should consider?
    3) there has been something on the internet about a different way of charging the phone so to get better battery life out of it. i think it goes charging it then unplug the phone then turn off phone then plug back in for 20 mins then finally phone charged. is that really necessary or something? is that a problem for the phone right now?
    and lastly
    4) does the droid incredible get the same kind of apps all the other phones do or does it get special ones just for it?
    thanks for your help

    1.  We recommend the extended batteries that we offer, as those batteries are  quality tested and come with a manufacturers warranty.  We do not recommend batteries from third party vendors, because unapproved batteries may damage the device and can void the manufacturer's warranty.  If the battery is offered by HTC and a supported product, you can check with the manufacturer to see if it would be covered with the Manufacturer's Warranty.  The Extended 2150mAh battery is the battery that we recommend.  That battery will not affect the Manufacturer's Warranty.  It actually comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty on it.  The 2150mAh battery is basically the same battery, as the standard battery, it just has a lower the battery voltage discharge over a set time interval making it last longer.
    2.  Issues with the HTC Droid Incredible are pretty much like any Smartphone device, there are problems that come up, but those are usually fixed with updates.  Because you are getting  a later build of the device, it is unlikely that you would encounter any significant issues with the device.
    3.  There is no need to charge the battery in any other way than the recommended way.  Newer batteries are more resistant to overcharging and will charge quickly.
    4.  The HTC Droid Incredible would  have access to the Android Market Place.   It would  have access to over 10,000 applications  on the Android Market.

  • Gingerbread Update for HTC Droid Incredible

Here we go it's the Official thread for the upcoming "Gingerbread 3.0" update for the Droid Incredible.
Float this thread to the top of your page to always see whats new and never stay out of the loop!
    Tag often!
Here is some basic info regarding the new upcoming update. If you have any new information PLEASE update this thread and attach some links for all of us to follow.
Android 3.0 Gingerbread will be released in mid- October (around 15 -16th), 2010. First handsets shipping in November/December – for the Holiday Season.
Minimum hardware requirements for Android 3.0 devices are: 1GHZ CPU, 512MB or RAM, displays from 3.5” and higher.  (We all, of course, heard that Android handsets with 2GHz CPU’s are coming)
New 1280×760 resolution available for the devices with displays of 4” and higher. (Anyone thinking about Android tablets now? )
Completely revamped user interface. If you want to get a feeling of what Android 3.0 Gingerbread UX is like, check out the Gallery app on Nexus One. The same overall feel, light animated transitions, etc. Natively, through all the UI.
Android’s split into 2 branches becomes official. 3.0 for top of the line/high end devices. Cheap, low-end mass market handsets will keep Android 2.1/2.2
Just a few jabs to get the fire started. Keep it nice here please, and lets help each other be the highest informed forum on the net!                                            GO GINGERBREAD!!!!!

As I can see from your specs, we won't benefit from this update at all. Useless update. The new resolution would only be compatible with screens 4' and above.
With all the features we have now, what else are we gonna need?
Besides that, not even all Incredible ownsers have Froyo yet, it's too early to talk about some Gingerbread. Not even all Froyo users use all of its new features, such as 3G Hotspot and bugging apps that came with the update.
I'm just wondering what would Gingerbread bring that will make me like this phone more than I already do. Nothing.

  • HELP!!! Droid X or Droid Incredible???  I'm aware of shipping date on DINC... but.....

Okay - so I went to my Verizon store almost 2 wks ago and spoke to the rep we had worked with in the past regarding getting rid of my BB Tour (worst BB ever IMHO!!!) and was told (quietly) to hold out until the new DX was released on 7/15.  When I got home, I checked out the DroidX and was completely enamoured with Droid and totally over Verizon even getting the iphone (gasp - esp now that I've seen how awesome android is and heard about all the problems w/ the iphone4) ~ but I also noticed the HTC Droid Incredible and seemed to like the screen and size.  So again, I went into my Verizon store to see if I could get my hands on both to see what I wanted to do.  I've been waiting VERY patiently w a crappy phone just waiting for something to come along that I'd be happy with.  I was really set to just go ahead and order my DINC but the rep I normally work with wasn't there and the mgr had referred me to another rep.  Very nice guy but really talked up the DX and I was really quite impressed.  The ONLY thing I HATE about the DX is the SIZE!!!  Now, I understand the screen itself is huge, but honestly I didn't fit into my pocket and sometimes I like to put it into my front pocket.  I also didn't like how square it was.  On the positive side thought, it is going to blow the iphone away.
So, I guess here's my dilemma (sorry it's taken so long to get here) ~ do I go ahead and order the DINC since the size is more along the lines of what I'd be comfortable with or just say forget about the size and just get the coolest phone on the market (not to mention Motorola makes pretty good sounding phones)???  Essentially, what are the differences between the two phones?  I know DX has the HDMI, while that is a cool feature, I am not concerned about that - the DINC has the cool amoled (sp?) screen, but that seems to be what's holding up the backlog of phones.  I was told that if I ordered the DINC it would take 4-5 wks.  Can someone give me any advice?  I have small hands and the DX feels like I've stepped back into the 80's with the brick cell phone.  I can't seem to find the differences between the two phones and maybe if someone could tell me that, I could make a decision... do I wake up early to wait in line on the 15th or not????  I don't want to get the DX and then not really like it a couple months later (like the BB Tour) ~ ( I am going to also post this in the Droid X forum )
    Thanks!!!

Thank you all for your help - I read everyone's comments this morning and decided to go to my Verizon store and order the incredible after all.  I made my hubby come with me because he usually gets my sloppy seconds when it comes to electronics (hehe) and he said that even with his big hands he couldn't see himself  using the DroidX, especially since he's not really a techogeek   He had a hard time adjusting to the BB Tour cuz he felt it was too big!!!  It was funny when I was in the store placing my order, the sales rep I had spent over an hour with the other night said he thought I was going to come in to order the DINC and he whispered that it's a decent phone overall (afterall he IS a salesperson right? of course he would try to sell me the best and new phone).  The manager I was speaking to before the sales guy Chris I was working with kinda made me angry because he acted like I was foolish for wanting the DINC... I am hoping that all the people that have already ordered the DINC will cancel to get their hands on the DX and make mine come in quicker
In regards to going to Amazon or Best Buy (our Best Buy didn't have any either) to order, I've decided that I would hold out since I've been waiting for awhile anyway.  Besides, if something was wrong with the phone or I didn't like it after all, I could go back to my VZ store and pay a restocking fee and get a different phone a lot easier than returning it to amazon.
So like the rest of you that are waiting, I've joined your little cult... I'll be waiting patiently...  unfortunately size does matter in this case LOL!!!!

The fact that the DX has 720 vid & HDMI are very cool features, but not a deciding factor for me.  One thing I couldn't compromise was size unfortunately size does matter in this case LOL!!!!
@E-Brock - The Tour I believe is not even being sold anymore, in my heart of hearts I wanted a touch screen phone and at the time BB only had the Storm and we are all well aware of the horrible reviews that phone got.  So a salesguy talked me into the Tour.  I have to say I do like the keyboard on it but really hated the track ball (I had a Pearl before that) - now they have the Curve or Bold with the touchpad type joystick, if I was going to do another BB that's what I would get (actually I'd get the violet curve - I am a chick afterall ) they seem to move very well and easy to navigate, the screens are nicer than the Tour as well.  My Tour I've had to hard reset numerous times and battery pull more than necessary.  I think BB's are nice phones and I've always had great reception, but my tour was very slow for the internet. Hope this helps!! Good luck!!!

  • Firefox constantly crashes on my htc droid incredible

i have an HTC Droid Incredible and have been using firefox for a while. all of a sudden, when i try to use firefox on my phone, it opens for a few seconds then the screen turns white then takes me to a page that says FireFox has crashed and allows me to restart or close the program. Regardless of closing or restarting, the it always crashes. I've unistalled and reinstalled FireFox to see if that would fix it but it doesn't. My other internet browser works fine. Does anyone have any advise on how to fix this?

    Have you rebooted the phone?

  • How to create unique notification sounds for email on Droid Incredible 4G LTE

I have three separate email accounts pushed to my Droid Incredible 4G LTE.  I can't for the life of me figure out how to set up unique notification sounds for each email account.  It was a snap to do on my old Blackberry.
Same question for flagging individuals within my contact list.  (E.g., if my wife calls it makes one sound, if a client calls it makes a different sound.)
Does anyone know how to do this, or, as they say, is there an app for that???
    Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can on the email but got to each contact and edit them for different sounds, I'm not sure if it works on that new phone that way but as they don't have a dedicated room yet for it you had nowhere else to ask htc has good forums also
