Hello,
I have pre-ordered a droid at my best buy with the $50 deposit. Am I garunteed to get one on friday? The sheet I got has an 11 in the corner so I assume I was the 11th to pre-order. Is it first come first serve among the preorders or is it based off the number? Also what is the non-contract price of the phone at BB? Thanks!

It might not be the store's fault. The ASM might not have relayed that information to the Mobile Manager. I know that our manager didn't know initially, and I wound up being the one to find out. You shouldn't jump to blaming the store right off.

A question about Droid pre-order and contract status

Hi,
I preorded the droid from best buy the first day preorders were available. The person who handled my order didn't mention problems with my current contract status. My 2yr contract isn't up till 4/2010, and from reading here, it seems that best buy doesn't do the 1yr early upgrades.
So when I go down to best buy on friday to attempt to pick up my phone what are gonna be my options?
$599 retail price, or nothing? And so, will they refund my $50?
Would they do the 1yr and $369 price, if they consider I put in over one year on my current contract and consider it a $1yr? (I read someone say this would be an option)

Who does best buy sell phones to if they don't offer upgrades? Just new customers and people with expired accounts?

According to the guy that posted that, he was orginally denied, like has been said here. but then the looked it up and told him they'd honor the 1yr early upgrade.
To me, it just doesn't make much sense to not honor what verizon does.. cause you'd be losing lots of business. Anyone who is up for NE2, and denied honoring it by BB will just go to the verizon store, or order it online via verizons website. Anyone 1 year into their 2 year contract who is denied the 1yr early upgrade that verizon offers, and who doesn't care much about waiting for their $100-$50 NE2 discount will again be forced to buy elsewhere cause BB turns them away.
I'm not trying to make threats that BB needs to change. Just trying to draw attention to something that makes no sense to lots of customers. And would like someone to actually look into this again, since it seems to vary from store to store, clerk to clerk.

Yes, if you're new every 2 is due August 1st you can order the phone today and get the 2year price if your contract ENDS on or before Dec 31st 2010. You will have to place your order by phone or in Corp store though to take advantage of the early upgrade.

Still waiting for pre-ordered Droid X..

I still have not received my pre-ordered phone Droid X from BB... They are still saying "sometime this week" and guess what? Its already Wednesday and no word.
Am wondering if I should forego getting my phone via Best Buy and go to Verizon online to order it.. But now Verizon is saying that they are delayed to and the phone will be available "by 8/3"
which would be better - waiting for BB to contact me or just going ahead and ordering from Verizon?

I am in the same boat! They tell me to call everyday at noon to see if UPS has brought them, but so far no go. They have no idea when they are getting anymore. I have been pondering if I should just order one from verizon or wait it out as well. I think i'm going to play may cards and hope best buy actually fulfills there pre-order (post delivery). But you will have peice of mind with verizon on actually knowing when to expect your phone. it's a gamble.
If you do order one from verizon, then best buy gets one before yours ships with verizon, can you cancel the one from verizon? Might be an idea.

Pre-Order Help?

After a long day of running errands, I am finally getting home and looking at all the hype about the Droid 2 since the pre-orders started. Originally, I was considering going to my local VZW store when it opened and ordering my D2 there. However, I am seeing that if you pre-order it on the website, you can have it tomorrow. However, is it too late, 8 EST, for me to pre-order it and have it tomorrow? I am in no hurry for it, but I'd prefer to get away from my enV2 ASAP. I'm also worried that my local store may sell-out and I'd be out of luck completely. Any opinions as to what my best option would be? Any help is very much appreciated!

Order it online, with next day delivery ($8.99). It is probably too late today. If you order it online, you get the "instant rebate" - which is another way of saying a $100 discount. I've read somewhere that if you get the phone in the store, you get a $100 debit card...but don't take my word for it...call and ask VZW if you have concern about it.
As far a selling out...get it online, and you should receive it by Monday. if you JUST HAVE TO HAVE IT...go to the store, but you'll have to wait for the $100 credit/card/check/whatever.

Use upgrade on Galaxy S3 even though it's pre-order

So my upgrade is July 15th and had been waiting on the S3 to use it on. The new plan effective June 28th apparently makes this not possible? I can get an upgrade early before the 28th since I am in the 30 day window and keep my unlimited data , but is it possible to pre-order the the Galaxy S3 on a early upgrade before the 28th and keep my unlimited? Thanks in advance for any help, I had read in a droid forum that this was possible?

No, if you try to upgrade through the website before it says your line is eligible, it will only offer full price upgrades. I called to do it over the phone on 6-6, the first day of the SGSIII preorders. My upgrade eligibility date as shown in the system and website was 6-8. Two days. They couldn't do anything with it. They even transferred me to some sort of manager who explained that their system was set up to not allow even a manager override to force an early (earlier than shown) upgrade on this particular device. He offered all sorts of things including a Razr Maxx for $69 and no problem doing it two days early....but to pre-order the SGSIII I had to call back two days later to take care of it.
Some people are being led to believe they can simply ask nicely, have a CSR put a note in their account that they really wanted to upgrade before June 28th but couldn't and think when they call back on say July 2nd that this note will somehow allow them to carry over the unlimited data for them. I have seen the internal Verizon training document that has all sorts of language on how to convince you that giving up unlimited data and moving to a share plan is a good deal.......
YMMV but they have been very clear in that they aren't allowing UNL data with a subsidized upgrade initiated on or after June 28th

Pre-Order Rejected Payment

So... I went online last night on Apple's website to pre-order 2 new iPhone 5's. AT&T's site was stalling. We have a family plan so I tried to add both to the same order, but it wouldn't let me - so I did them in two seperate orders. I guess my bank saw 2 $400+ charges try and go through and blocked one. I got an email saying "Thank you for your order" and the est. arrival date as the 21's. But then today I was notified they needed a different form of payment for the second one (my bank blocked it thinking it was fraud). I called and got it cleared up and resumbitted and it says everything's good now - and the est. arrival date on both phones are still Sept. 21's but my husband is really worried that this put one of the phones at the "back of the line," and one will be delayed.
According to the site, again, everything looks cool - but I was just wondering if anyone has had this happened in previous pre-orders and knows for sure if this delays anything or not

Verizon iPhone pre-order!!

the suspense is killing me LOL I can't wait for the Verizon iPhone is there any way you could make the pre-order date earlier?? I would feel so much better and be able to relax if I knew my pre-order was in already and just wait for the shipment confirmation. Just a though thanks.

Dont worry though. they are doing this a lot differently than they previously did in the past.

Iphone will have several million available on launch. if it was anything like att, pre orders will sell out in about 16 hours and feb 10th, you will have to wait in line but it will take 2-3 days to sell out then.
If you cant get a iphone on the 3rd, i suggest hitting up a verizon corp store that is in a small town and get their midnight, they will open at 7am for the iphone.

Iphone pre order SUCKS

Ordered on the 3rd, yet I still have no information about when or even IF my phone will be coming. Not a single business customer has received shipping information yet millions of consumers have their phone. You did this to us with the Droid INC too. If you can get an order right, then dont take it. I've had it with Verizon, i'll be sending mine back and going with Sprint instead. I wont spend $2,500 monthly to be told you dont know where my order is and dont know when it will come and that no one else will get their phones.......

When I ported my number from Verizon 3-4 years ago before the iPhone was available, I set everything up and ordered a phone online via AT&T's website. This wasn't a pre-order for something like the iPhone, but I had to enter my billing address, social security number, and phone number with area code that I wanted to port. I don't recall having to enter my Verizon account number but maybe so.
I assumed the same could be done online when placing a pre-order, and not good to assume.

Just to add a little fuel to the fire. Let's not argue about who can or cannot order on the 3rd. I think we all know where each of us stands on that .
I've never been part of a pre-order or launch day purchase. I've watched it from afar, have friends that have camped out for the AT&T iPhone that I laughed at. Have watched the commotion online for the Droids etc.
I told myself that the one phone I would order the very first day I could was the iPhone.
Anyway, are we all assuming that you can only pre-order on the 3rd? And if you mss the 3rd are we assuming that you HAVE to wait until the 10th?
Looking at the FAQ, I see no mention of that. All I see is that "existing customers can order on or around the 3rd online" and that you can purchae in person on the 10th at Apple or Verizon retail locations.
Does that mean beginning on the 3rd, existing customers have a 7 day pre-order window before the 10th?
I mean, maybe it's blatantly obvious that that is not the case but, I never thought about it until just now.
These are the types of things that run through your mind when you work into the early hours of the morning .

At the Verizon iPhone announcement, they said that there were a certain amt of iPhones earmarked as being available for pre-order and that you would be able to pre-order until ALL OF THESE EARMARKED PHONES WERE GONE. Nothing was said about how many phones this was. So if they run out of earmarked phones on Feb 8, that would be the end of the pre-orders. Just when the earmarked phones run out.

PHEW You scared me for a moment there JRH4054 LOL. I almost thought I couldnt buy any screen protectors at all for my S4. I just pulled up my Droid Razr (1st line) Ice Cream Sandwich Manual for the phone I've had 2 yrs and had always used Screen protectors and heres what I found:

scodaddy, that is a wonderful question. We are super excited about the new iPhone. You can always pre-order your new iPhone online and then start the mail in rebate by following this link: http://bit.ly/GGnDDC Or you can always go into the store location and do it all in store on the 19th when the phone is launched. That would depend on if the store has them in stock when you go in. I hope that this was able to address your concern.

Can you get your money back from canceling a pre-order?

I recently pre-ordered an album that I no longer want. I canceled the pre-order but my current balance on my account hasn't changed. I spent $17 on the album, and want to know if there is any way that I can get that back.

if you purchase a itunes gift card you will not be able get your money back. unless if it has never been used, such as enetering the bar code then you can probably take it in to the original store where you bought it from with the receipt.

Could I pre-order an iPhone 5 in my local apple store and I have it mailed to my house?

Is it possible for me to go to my local apple store and pre order an iphone 5 and have it mailed to my home address? If I was to pre order it at the apple store would I have to go through AT&T to buy the phone or could I just buy the phone? Would that change the price too? I plan on getting the 16GB.

You don't preorder in the Apple Store. You preorder on-line. It will be mailed to your home address. Apple has not yet announced an unlocked iPhone 5 in the U.S. so yes, you would need to select a carrier.
