Droid pro, low memory, factory reset

I have a droid pro. about 3 months ago it started giving me the low memory warning so i reset to factory defaults. about 3 weeks later it happened again so i factory reset it again. then it happened again. and again. Im tired of factory resetting and losing all of my stuff every month. The phone is not low on memory. the internal isnt even halfway used up and there is about 8gb on my micro sd card. does anyone know what is wrong?

Do you have a lot of emails saved on the phone? Text messages?
Have you cleared the browser cache?

  • HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC: Can't Activate Windows 8 Pro after a Factory Reset (Hard Disc reformatted).

    Hello:
I had to perform a drastic cleanup of the C-drive of my ENVY 17 Notebook and did a Factory Reset. I was able to reload Windows 8 Pro from my recovery USB drive.
However, Windows 8 Pro cannot be reactivated stating that the Product Key is Invalid or Blocked. I understand this is caused by having the OS drive formatted and completely cleaned.
    My questions are:
Will the HP Recovery Disks (which is available for ordering) be able to help solve the above situation?
Will it allow me to reactivate my Windows 8 Pro?
Will the HP Recovery Disks/media contain or marked with the proper Windows Product Key?
    Thanks,
    Rico.

  • Macbook pro restarts with factory reset without disk

mac turned on to the OS X Utilities menu and i dont know what to do

    HI there joel998,
It sounds like you may have booted into Recovery Mode. To exist Recovery Mode, restart your computer by going to  > Restart... Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • How can I free up internal memory on my Droid Pro?

Hi, for the last few weeks i have received that lil triangle in the circle saying that i have run low on internal memory/storage. I have cleaned up my sd card and attempted to move apps to but they i can not do so. The few apps that I have left on my phones internal memory are smaller and my phone should be able to handle it. I am left to try and remove system programs which obviously i can not do. It is so bad that my phone is actually rejecting incoming text messages, most of the time i do not even get notified of this happening. It is driving me nutz. If i use my browser or any app i have to remember to clear my my cache or history so there is just a lil bit space to allow my messages to come in. If it feels like taking it. Does anyone know what or how I can get to the internal storage to clear more things out? I have hooked my phone up to the pc, did the verizon mobile stuff, just about everything my enough to be technical dangerous but not enough to do this for a living brain can think off? Help please. This is a Droid Pro. I love this phone and do not want to get rid of it. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Have you done a system cached clear??
(Steps may vary slightly but should be close)
    Power down phone
Hold volume up/down & power simultaneously until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu
Use volume down to navigate to 'Recovery', use volume up to select
Should see screen with triangle and exclamation point next to an Android
Press volume up/down simultaneously to go into system recovery
Use volume rocker to navigate to 'wipe cache' and use power button to select
Once finished, use volume rocker to navigate to 'reboot system now' and use power button to select.
Are you storing pictures or music on the phone?  Move them to the SD card.

  • Low memory on HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw

My printer keeps telling me, low on memory, printjob cancelled.
I have already installed the latest software version, that wasnt the solution. Cant find anything on the web about low memory for my printer or how to solve it.

Hi , I understand that you are getting a low memory while trying to print. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
I have been seeing this lately and have included a couple of fixes for this issue. I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. Test the printer. If you are still having issues, continue the steps below: Reset the Printing System on the Mac and readd the printer back in again, make sure you select the printer and not the Apple preinstalled driver. Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol. Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.Click Printers & Scanners.Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.Click OK to confirm the reset.Type the correct Name and Password.Click OK to reset the printing system. Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button. Try printing again. From what I have seen so far, the printer is not getting the "Low Memory" error when it is connected by a USB cable.
That would lead me to believe that it might be a communication issue over the network. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address. For networked printers:
Delete the printer from Printers and Scanners.
Click on the + button, select the IP Protocol across the top, type in the printer's IPv4 address, select Jet Direct below and then Apply. You would have to scan though, through the Bonjour driver added.Test the printer again. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the Thumbs up button below.
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know. Thank You.

  • Can I run a factory reset on my MacBook Pro and later reinstall my purchased apps, or will I have to pay for them again?

My MacBook Pro is a work computer, and my company may need to run a factory reset on it. I don't have much faith in their abilities to save any of my info, so I am backing all my photos and videos up on an external hard drive, but I am concerned I will lose my purchased apps in the process.
Is there any way I can get those back later if I need to?  There's a lot of purchased apps on my MacBook Pro.
    Thanks!

Like posted above if you purchased them from the Mac App store all you have to do is Login to the MAS with the same Apple ID used to buy them and they will be available for Re-Download and install.
If you purchased some of them from the developers website then the developer might of sent you a registration code in an email. Find those and make a Text Document out of them and then Print that text Doc and save it to that external for safe keeping.
You can then go back to the developer website and re-download their program and install it using that key/reg code to authorize it.

  • How do I factory reset my Macbook Pro and then restore using my time machine back up?

    Hey guys,
My Macbook Pro has slowed down & had more and more random crashed recently and a friend suggested doing a factory reset. My Macbook is about 3 1/2 years old now so it's about time I did something and this always used to work for me on PC's.
I've kept a completely up to date time machine back-up since day 1 (I'll do another immediately before the reset.) and would rather use that to restore all my files. Will I have to reinstall all my apps with this? (Thats fine if I do, it would just be nice to know first) How do I do the factory reset & how to I restore from time machine afterwards.
    Many Thanks
    MegaBeaker

First obtain an external hard drive to back up to. Go to your system preferences and look under Time Machine. Select your external hard drive as your backup drive then start a full backup.  Then follow these steps provided by Apple:
In the menu bar, choose Apple menu > Restart. Once your Mac restarts (and the gray screen appears), hold down the Command and R keys.
Select Disk Utility, then click Continue.
Select your startup disk on the left, then click the Erase tab.
Choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) from the Format menu, enter a name, then click Erase.Important:   Erasing the disk removes all the information from the disk. Be sure to back up the information you want to keep to an external device.
After the disk is erased, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
Select Reinstall OS X, click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions.

  • I have reset my macbook pro to factory reset the screen is now asking me to put in my details, do i have too as if i am showing it to someone they need to be able to see it working but does that not mean that my name will be on it. please help

Use a alias, but you might have to use a zip code that matches the location used.
Also if you click the right button there is a way to bypass the registration, like register later or something, Apple has it hidden. Also to bypass the internet connection to send the registration off.
Never place your name on a Mac or PC, it's spread throughout the entire machine, in emails, on the network in plain sight etc.

  • My daughter reset her Mac book Pro to the factory settings by her doing this did we loose all the pictures and stuff that was on the computer before

My daughter reset her Mac book Pro to the factory settings by her doing this did we loose all the pictures and stuff that was on the computer before

If by resetting to factory settings you mean she erased the drive and reinstalled the operating system, OS X, then yes all data thatwas on it is gone. That is why apple included time machine so you can make backups of your data.

  • HT201376 Hello, I am trying to reset my macbook pro to its factory settings but I can't type the name of the formatted disk nor can I click on erase, as this feature is disabled. Could you please assist?

    Hello!
Did you boot to the Internet Recovery Partition?
    Here’s how:
1/ Make sure your computer is completely shut down.
2/ You’ll have to be quick next: Press the Mac’s power button. As soon as you either hear the loud chime, or see the display light up - usually after a second or 2 - on your keyboard press [alt] + [cmd] + [r] Keep these keys on your keyboard pressed until you see a spinning globe with the text “starting Internet Recovery” You might have to connect to your Wi-Fi network before you can continue here.
After a few minutes, you’ll be presented with a Utilities screen. This is the Internet Recovery partition. If this step is already giving you problems, try using a USB-keyboard. It doesn’t have to be an Apple-keyboard. If you have a Windows-tailored keyboard laying around, use the “Windows-flag” key in stead of the [cmd]-key and it should also work.
3/ Choose Disk Utility and click [continue]

  • Factory reset my macbook pro?

Hi! So my macbook pro has been bugging out on me a lot lately. The screen will shut off randomly and i'll have to shut it down and restart it to use it, and it will come up with a message that says the computer restarted becasue of a problem. I tried bringing it into an apple store but they didn't offer much help, and said to send it to apple.  Well, I'm off to college in 10 days so I don't have time to send it and get it back.  I'm hoping a factory reset will help, since it always did with my HP laptop, and I have a external drive to save all my files.  How do I preform one keeping in mind that when I got the computer it had snow leapord (or something) and I downloaded Lion from the apple store.  I want to make sure that I have Lion after the factory reset without having to pay for it again.  Thanks for your help!

Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • I want to factory reset my macbook pro but my computer doesn't give me the recovery option, it gives me Macintosh HD only.

I want to factory reset my macbook pro but my computer doesn't give me the recovery option, it gives me Macintosh HD only.

    Hello sallay Amir,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you would like to erase your MacBook Pro and install a new copy of OS X, but the Mac does not boot to OS X Recovery when you hold the Command + R keys during startup.
If your Mac came with OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) or earlier, I recommend referring to the steps in this article:
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard: How to Erase and Install - Apple Support
For a newer Mac (OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite), try reinstalling OS X by using Internet Recovery, as described in the "OS X Internet Recovery" section on this page:
OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
    All the best,
    Jeremy

We want you to enjoy the best reliability with your Droid 2 Jaxie! What specific problems are you having with the device? Is your software up to date? The latest version available is: 4.5.621.A955.Verizon.en.US. If the software is up to date, we recommend running the device in safe mode to determine if third party apps may be causing the issues. I hope this information is helpful.

  • Not enough memory available message AFTER factory reset.

Hi, Last night I tried to add a playlist to my month old iPhone 5.  I got the following message:
"iPhone cannot be synced.  There is not enought memory available"
I've been browsing the forums for solutions, but nothing works.  Even though I had 12 GB of free space, and very little Other space, it would not go.  My playlist was not that big.  So I've been trying multiple things and nothing helped.  I just did a factory reset, and the iTunes cannot restore the backup, I get the same message even though there is 27.42 Gb free on a 32 Gb phone.  I really don't know what to do anymore.  Now I have nothing on my phone, and I can't add anything to it.

the message appears on iTunes on the computer, correct? Try removing an reinstalling iTunes according to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 for windows Vista or Windows 7  or this one: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925  for windows XP
If you use mac: just install a fresh copy from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ , no need to remove anything.
Let me know how it works out
