Droid Pro randomly changes settings

I have a Droid Pro and sometimes when I unlock it my wallpaper has changed, icons are deleted or added, one time it called someone on my contact list. This happens about once or twice a week.
Also, listening to mp3s it will sometimes stop in the middle of a song and I will need to hit play again and the song starts over. Volume also will decrease on its own. This happens pretty consistently.

I can certainly understand how inconvenient this could be on your phone. If my music app wasn’t working or icons and wall paper would be changing I would be confused and slightly upset. How long has this been an issue for you? Have you installed any apps on the phone recently that could be driving some of these issues? Have you rooted your phone? Have you ever done a master reset on the device to address some of these issues? If you have not here are the following steps to do so:
From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Privacy
Touch Factory Data reset
Touch Reset Phone
Touch Erase Everything

Mail is changing settings in preferences!

Lots of users are exposed to the Mail 3 bug (Leopard) where Mail is randomly changing settings in "Preferences"-"Account"-"Advanced" from "Password" to "APOP".
(The visual effect of this bug for the average user is that Mail will promt you for a password-dialogue box, which of course is useless trying to enter, since the settings has been changed in the preferences)
This is only in conjunction with certain Pop accounts and happens when Mail is connecting to the Pop-server (This happens most often the first time Mail connects after launch).
The Pop accounts affected are (as far as I know) Verizon in USA, Demon in England and Glocalnet in Sweden.
There are probably more Pop account-providers that are affected so I want as many reports as possible from people with this problem.

This definitely is happening to me. I've had a Mac mini for only a month and have a dot MAC email account and my local dial-up ISP account.
Had a number of issues setting these up and after re-doing them 3 or 4 times, finally got them both working. Three days later, the dot MAC stopped working because Mail was trying to log on with SSL. It had been working fine before this. When I turned the machine on in the morning and went online, I kept getting error messages from the dot MAC system.
It's very annoying.
How does Thunderbird for the MAC work? Maybe that is the solution to this one.

Why do the recording settings in GarageBand 10.0.3 randomly change if I delete the track?

When I choose the "Narrator" setting to record voice only, and then decide to delete that track and record a different one - it randomly changes the setting from "Narrator" to "Bright Voice" or some other category. Sometimes the Narrator setting disappears altogether and is not even a choice. Also - sometimes there is no sound recorded on the tracks, even after it was just working fine and I did not change any settings. Other times, the mic is cutting in and out on the recording, making it unusable. I am using it on a MacBook Pro (late 2008 - 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3) with OS X Yosemite 10.10. Are there bugs in the software, or is my MacBook too old?

Droid Pro sent SMS not showing up

Hi I just got a Droid Pro earlier today and I'm pretty happy with it except for one thing. I cannot find nor see my sent SMS messages. When I send a sms message, it will show up, then dissapear when I leave the conversation. Some will stay randomly but I'd say 95% of my messages do not show up in conversation threads. Is there any way I can find those messages or change the settings to have them saved in the conversation thread?

We would be glad to help with your Text message settings. Are you using a text message application like Handcent? If not Please check your settings Go to text Messages then menu>message settings>then text messages and check your settings. Premiere Pro random crashing since update to 2014.2

Been working on the SAME big project over 18 months, in Pr Pro CC, 2014, working on the SAME PC:
Win 7 SP1 pro 64bit, i7-3770K, 32GB fast memory (25.7 available for Pr), Intel HD 4000 graphics on Asus motherboard with 30" NEC Multisync screen at 2560 x 1600 (same as for years)
42GB free on my SSD drive C: and 54GB free on my SSD drive S: for preview files, 24GB free on my SSD drive T: for caching files. Project files etc stored on a normal hard drive F: (for Files!) 1.25TB free.
NOW last update to 2014.2 and I get constant RANDOM crashes (Windows encountered a fault and had to close this program) despite updating graphics driver and trying different settings in preferences, use mercury etc. No particular action causes it - sometimes I am just watching it play a sequence and it just stops. Though of course it may be rendering the last edit at the time.
Sometimes it runs for all of 15 mins and I think the problem has sorted then it goes again and I have to restart the project, find where I was and re-do my last edits. If I remember to press Ctrl-S very frequently (every few seconds) it seems to run for a while then I forget for 5 mins and it crashes.
Grrrr what did you do to the latest version, Adobe?? I need to get this project finally finished in a hurry.... I wish I had not updated the program! Of course I cannot go back as it says the saved copy is now incompatible with earlier Pr Pro versions.
I then tried running a previous version at the same time, as simonray suggested in his post - it worked! So I am able to continue as normal provided I do this stupid bodge fix.
So it really is down to Adobe as it is the same project, same PC, just different version update. You did something to a great, stable, program that made it unstable, Adobe...

A log file might help identify the cause of the crash. Please right-click 'My Computer', select "Manage," look under 'Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application' to see if there's an event there from Premiere Pro. If so, copy the contents of that log and paste them here.

Problem Solved! (with a small catch)
While searching crashing issues I came across this thread,"Premiere Pro random crashing since update to 2014.2"
Marc_Lec Answered (and I paraphrase here)"...I had the same problem and this is what I did. In 'Preferences Memory' I increased the memory reserved for other application to at least half the installed and changed the optimize render from 'performance' to 'memory."
Thank You Marc_Lec for what has been a game changer for me since my last computer and the beginning of PremiereCC problems.
I changed my Memory reserved for Other Applications from the default 7gigs to 1/2 of my approx.31 available Gigs = 16Gigs. Viola!
No more crashing what-so-ever!
I still have to purchase an older GTX 980 graphics card to take advantage of Adobe's approved code to utilize X=Cuda Cores and GPU, but I think I'll hang onto my new TitanX, in hopes that Adobe will write code and approve it someday in the near future.
Now why doesn't Adobe say this officially about Memory Settings? (I don't know maybe they do and I missed I somewhere)
Mine and probably many peoples computers problems here on this board may be attributed to a simple Memory adjustment, because the computer needs more than 7Gigs to run itself, not to mention Premiere.

i turn my computer off aprox. every 2 days i tried to bring a solution to this but its just weird

Droid Pro not working after yesterday's system software update

I downloaded it last night and now my Outlook exchange mail account shows no messages. I can send an email from my Droid Pro Outlook account but it does not receive any.
Checked with corporate IT and there were no changes overnight to our corporate email system. My personal POP mail still works. Also Calendar is not syncing from corporate back to the Droid or from the Droid.
Even more disturbing is the phone is running Hot and I can not get the charge above 20%
I have restarted several times and all the settings are pre update.

I think you interrupted the update. The behavior you describe happened to me as well, but the update eventually finished.
I would unplug the Apple TV for 30 seconds or so to see if that helps.

Emails on Droid Pro

I have my Hotmail sync to my Droid Pro, but I'm not receiving them as fast as I used to when I had my BB. Is this common or am I not setting it up right?

Ya know, I thought the same thing (emails were not instant) But I have to say I have been using K9 mail and it sure seems to be instant.
I have signed up or changed info on accounts recently, Verizon being one, (I moved) and no sooner I hit send, I received an email notification on my phone that I had requested 'x' change.
You may want to try that program.
If you want to know my settings, let me know. Also, I do not see any battery degradation either as the program is not checking every so often. I also have 7 email accounts.

No contacts listed in Voice Dial- Droid Pro

About half the time that I try to use my Voice Dialing on my Droid Pro the phone displays the message 'No valid names in contact list'. This seems to happen for no reason. It might work fine for a couple days and then stop working. There are over 200 names in my contact list. Is there a cause and solution?

Got this from someone quite helpful on another forum and it helped me. Hopefully it will help anyone else out there as well.
If you've updated your Pro with the OTA update that came out a couple of weeks ago that should have also included an update/improvements to the Voice Commands app. If you haven't already done so, on the main menu of your phone go to Settings>About Phone>System Updates and allow the OS update...
First thing I noticed was that the Voice Commands app icon changed after installing the Pro OS update....since the update I have not had any problems with the VC app...prior to that the app would work fine for a while then it said it could not recognize any of the commands I was saying...
Hopefully the update will solve the "valid contacts" issue that you and others have experienced...

Droid Pro- corporate contact access

I just got the Droid Pro and so far so good. I changed over from the Droid Eris because I needed a global phone and wanted a hard keyboard. I really like it but I seem to have an issue...I don't think I can search for a contact that is in my company's exchange server. Not my outlook contacts, but other addresses in my corporate directory. I had this feature with Active Sync on my Eris, but can't seem to find it on the Droid Pro- which seems weird since it's positioned as a business phone. The Motorola website didn't really give much information only saying that I shouldn't need to access a corporate directory. Any thoughts? Hopefully I'm just not looking in the right place.

Droid Pro basically worthless after update

I have been fairly happy with my Droid Pro. However since the
update 2 weeks ago my phone has become almost worthless. It now randomly
freezes, reboots, or powers off. Apps disappear from the home screen and the
screen brightness stays dim despite what brightness level I have it set on. Worst
of all since the update my battery life has been reduced by close to half. Anyone
else having these same issues. I liked my phone before but now it makes me want
to throw it against the wall. Any ideas on what to do?

Have you tried any of the standard troubleshooting steps? Uninstalled and reinstalled the applications giving you problems?
Move applications from the SD card back to the internal storage to see if that helps you with the ones disappearing.
Cleared the system cache? Not sure if the steps to get to the system cache are similar to the steps for the Droid X process. Try a search of this community for those steps for the Droid X.
Finally, have you completed a factory reset? I would suggest searching for the factory reset steps written up by Wildman on the Droid X. The steps include an extra step to ensure that the previous application settings don't get reloaded. This will allow you to get a clean slate for your phone and hopefully prevent previous issues from reoccurring.

Droid Pro font size

I am having a hard time readintg the font size on my new Droid Pro. I can increase it in the email application, but cannot increase it (or have not been able to find where) on my general diplys. HELP!!!

Unfortunately there is not a option to change the setting for the font size on your device; however, you can download Spare Parts. Spare Parts is an application from the Android Market Place. Keep in mind all applications are from third party users and are download at your own risk. Spare Parts allow you to enable some of the settings that are not found in the default setting menu. The application does have the option to change the font size for your general display.

Droid Pro newbie questions

Hello everyone. I just got my new droid pro yesterday (so far I like it!) but I do have a couple questions.
1. Whenever I turn on wifi it makes everything on the phone stop working, cant use internet, apps, etc. My husbands iphone connects and works fine so I didnt think it was the router but I am not sure. Any tips would be helpful!
2. Also I have a little app/widget thing that was preinstalled from the My Verizon and somtimes it says 3G Data - Unlimited Use. After I try to use the wifi I turned it off and now that little red box says Data Usage - Not connected. I checked my account online and it still has the unlimited data package under my number, is this just an app problem or am I really not connected? Everything works (as long as wifi is off) so I wasnt sure.
Couple of random questions..
3. Is there a way to change the background color of text messages? Like in the inbox its black, the same with the default email.
4. Is there a way to have the date stay at the top of the phone instead of just popping up when you go to click notifications? & Have the % of the battery displayed there?
5. I have my cell phone charging right now and it seems kind of hot, is that normal?
6. I want to shut off the notifications from apps, like yahoo, craigslist etc. but cant seem to figure out where to do that.
7. Is there a way to "wake up" the phone by pressing a button on keypad and then unlock it instead of the power button?

1. There are only a handful of laptop battery producers in Asia. The top 5 laptop vendors (including Apple) seem to buy theirs from Sony (this is why, a couple years ago Apple, Dell, and Toshiba were suing Sony for batteries that warped/caught fire).
2. Yes. You don't even need a screwdriver, just slide the release and it pops out.
3. The hardware performs the same. Mac OS X performs better than Windows, not quite as well as Linux (on the same hardware). You can find faster laptops with better video cards, but they cut corners elsewhere or cost more.
4. General quality. The package is well built, OS X is generally well designed and performs well. The physical case is top-notch. The biggest liability is the region-locked optical drive. I've owned a VAIO and it was without question the worst computer I've ever had -- cheesy case and lots of hardware issues.
5. Macs in general seem to hold their resale value very well. The hardware is typically supported by Apple for longer than PC hardware is by other vendors.
6. You got me there, no idea.
7. Apple typically sells them for 15% - 20% when that happens (check store.apple.com), but don't count on there being much of an inventory.
8. I'm still working on my first, but the company policy is 3 years.

Can I assign the calendar key to my camera key on droid pro?

I switched from the BB Bold to the droid pro. The side button on the right brings up my calendar. Is there anyway I can change it so that this button opens my camera? I liked being able to change it on my BB and wanted to do the same this phone.

You can set the key on the side of your phone to open the feature you use most.
To set the programmable side key, touch the Quick Launch shortcut on the home screen. To create a
shortcut on the the home screen, touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen and select Shortcuts> Settings > Quick Launch.
