Droid razr and hdmi cable
The docking option for the hdmi cable is always popping up on my phone even though I have never used it. It is very annyoing, tech support said to do a factory reset but as soon as the phone came back on that was the first thing that popped up. What should I do to get rid of this?
Hello Tuffup,
I can understand the concern in regards to the HDMI cable pop-up you are experincing. I want to make sure we get to the bottom of this issue. What is the model number for your device?

Connecting Micro USB and HDMI cables at the same time
I need to be able to use a Micro USB and HDMI cable at the same time to configure ATV to connect to WPA2-Enterprise secure WiFi network. I'm using Apple Configurator to do this. Because of the poor hardware design, it isn't possible to connect both the Micro USB and HDMI cables at the same time. Does anyone have a worrkaround to resolving this issue?
I saw a similar post about this problem in the forums dating back to April 2013 with no real solution. It's been over a year now and I'm hoping someone has found a workaround to this problem. I have a bunch of ATVs that I need to configure for our classrooms.
Thanks!
MGFor what reason do you believe this is necessary?

What do I needto do to connect a tv as an external display for my mbp using a mini display port to hdmi cable. I have tried display without success. tv is receiving a signal as displays apples default wallpaper when connected but nothing from screen of mbp.
Soundls like it is working. Try dragging a window on the MBP to the edge of the screen and see if it appears on the TV.
There are two ways to set up the TV one is to mirror the MBP display and the other is to be an extension of the MBP's screen.
You change the settings in System Preference->Display -
Screen turns black after connecting TV via DVI adaptor and HDMI cable
I've just got the brand new MacBook Pro from the Apple Store. It is sensational.
But one thing doesn't work!
I used my old "*DVI - HDMI cable*" and the new "*Mini DisplayPort - DVI adaptor*" to connect my new MacBook with my SHARP Aquos LCD TV. But the screen of the MacBook just turned black and nothing else happened, even if I removed the plugs. The only thing I was able to do was a reboot.
The HDMI cable worked very well until today with my old PowerBook G4 (I just didn't need the adaptor).
Do I need another adaptor? What is wrong? Any ideas?
Thank you!Did you ever resolve this problem? I want to hook up my MBP to my Aquos TV and wondered what cable to get.

My macbook air won't detect display when trying to hook up with mini port and hdmi cable
The screen turns blue and all it just won't show arrangments and then mirro display.. help!
Try it, a complete power off/on!
MacBook Air using Sony TV as monitor via Thunderbolt and HDMI.
I could not get my 32inch Sony Bravia to "see" my 2102 MBAir using the Thunderbolt-to-HDMI adapter and a known good HDMI cable.
So I took my MBAir to my local Apple Store,Encinitas California, along with the TBolt Adapter and a known good HDMI cable.
The salesman tried the same connection from my Air to their 40inch Sony Bravia using my cables. It worked perfectly. The Apple salesman advised I return home and make the same connections to my 32" Sony, turning it off and back on. I realized I had already done that test several times. Then, it occurred to me that _Sony "off "using the Sony Remote Control is not the same as _Sony off completely. So I returned home and disconnected the AC power from the 32" for over 30 seconds then turned it back on with the Air &Sony connected via the Thunderbolt-to-HDMI connection and with the MBA turned on. The image came right up on screen and is still working. So, is this yet another case of " when in doubt re-boot" ? -
I'm having trouble connecting my MacBook Pro to my TV using an HDMI cable. I know I have the right cable and I know I am plugging it in correctly. However, I cannot find the right setting for my screen to display on the TV. I've tried changing the display resolution in system preferences, but I don't know which is the correct one to choose.
Apple lays out the requirements for audio over HDMI below. Verify that your Mac model is new enough, otherwise it will be too old to send audio over HDMI. If it's too old, you have to use a separate audio cable.
About Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters
You can certainly check the audio output settings in the Sound system preference and also in the Audio MIDI Setup utility, but it is just as important to make sure your TV is set to play back audio from the exact HDMI port that the Mac cable is plugged into. -
I have connected my ipod touch to my tv using a digital AV adapter and a HDMI cable to try to watch BT sport on the tv, but I am getting the sound without the picture. Any ideas?
For the 4G and earlier iPods, TV out only works for apps that support TV out. If they do not, then you only get sound.

Having problems connecting iPad 4S to monitor with Apple adapter and HDMI cable.
Purchased an Apple adapter to connect to an HDMI cable. The connections were secure and the image on the iPad was duplicated on the monitor; however, there was a lot of "snow" on the monitor. I tried turning off the power to the iPad and then starting back up, but that didn't work. Once when checking the connections the image cleared for a few seconds, but then the "snow" came back. Any ideas?
sounds like either an issue with the HDMi cable, or the connection at the TV possibly.
Try another HDMI port on your TV if there is one, or a different cable. -
Pb screen fuzzy plugged with mac mini and hdmi cable
Hi all, I bought my first mac yesterday and I plugged it it this morning on my tv screen with an hdmi cable. I saw that the screen at the bottom where all the icones are is fuzzy. We set it up at the apple store and it was working well. Could you please help me.
Thanks a lot for your answerWell, here's to a happy conclusion.
After bugging the local electronics store for two days in a row, I've found a working Full-HD TV.
Lessons learned:
a) Be thankful for stores where you can bring in your own computer and hook it up to the TVs on display.
b) Don't just glance at the manual.
After trying several TVs and not getting any good picture by either connecting by VGA (consistently showed slight ghosting with high-contrast colors) or HDMI (all TVs did cut off Dock and menu bar), neither the salespeople nor I had any idea what else to do.
The next day, it hit me: We had tried all kinds of setup/config selections from the TV's setup menu.
What we did NOT do was to simply try it with the "Zoom/Aspect" button on the remote - partially because that didn't work with the first model I bought.
So, Mac mini back into the suitcase, back to the store, "Ah, you again...", hook up the first TV set, press "Zoom", pick "Truescan", press "OK" -
Problem solved. Pixel-perfect alignment. => TV bought.
Just for those looking for a "known to work" answer: It was the Toshiba, XV 500 series, older model. It's running on "1920x1080 @ 60 Hz (interlace)", but since I'm using it as a monitor, the "interlace-only" doesn't bother me too much. No problem even when watching DVDs via the mini.
Image is stable, text is crisp and readable at 5-6 ft. distance, dimmed-down lamp is more than adequate even at minimum brightness since the room faces north. Low-power setting of the lamp makes for only 70 watts consumption instead of the rated 180+ watts.
Happy user here now -
[SOLVED] GTX 660 and hdmi cable
Helo everyone,
I have the GTX 660Ti and a monitor display with integrated speakers and hdmi port.In the gtx box there isn't the mini HDMI adaptor.
If I connect the monitor-vga with hdmi I have no signal. So i connect with DVI port but how can I do to have the audio with a hdmi cable.
Is necessary the mini-hdmi dongle ?
ThanksSo checked the GTX660 cards N660-2GD5(/OC) and N660 TF-2GD5(/OC) all have normal HDMI ports. Haven't checked before because you were talking of a missing mini hdmi connector. You just haver to connect screen and graphics card with a normal hdmi cable and you are good to go. Don't install a DVI or D-Sub cable also to connect the screen.
Windows has nothing to do with what connection is used just to get a signal to the screen. Check if your monitor needs manual setting for what connection to use (hdmi/dvi/d-sub). -
after upgrading to mountain lion I cannot use my HD TV as a display anymore using thunderport and HDMI , which worked before , does this mean I have to buy apple tv to mirror onto my HD TV
can it be something related to wi-fi? I have read other posts talking about loss of connection using wifi. I'm connecting my G5 through an airport express which is expanding my wifi generated from my Apple Time Capsule. It is quite difficult for me to relocate the server close to the Time Capsule and vice versa but if it works, at least that would be something. It was working with Lion about 3 months ago - showing up in Finder, etc.

My apple TV is not working. It is showing the Itunes log with the white sync cable. it has been like that for days.
That means you have to hook it up to your Mac/win PC and restore it from within iTunes using a micro-USB cable.

Blinking white light HDMI graphic on TV... That's it, nothing else. What can I do?
The ATV is telling you it needs to be plugged into your computer and restored through iTunes.
Here is the Apple support page.
Hope this helps.
