Droid Turbo with bad signal

I bought a Droid Turbo on Thursday and can't even keep the phone battery for one day. When looking at battery stats it shows that it is rarely getting a good mobile signal. All other devices in the house keep a great mobile signal and have smaller batteries that are lasting much longer. The db readings on the Turbo are often 10-15 higher (higher is worse) than the older devices. Is anyone else having similar issues?

There's issues with the phone, and I would say it was from the update that came out shortly after or before the phone was released I don't know if that update is the cause of the issue sounds like if could be.. there is an update coming when I'm not exactly for sure but one is coming the issue I'd say your seeing is because Verizon is rolling out voLTE sometime by the end of this month or shortly there after..  if you can wait the time for it to be released..
I'm going to redo this and say.!  There have been many issues with the phone an update came out and I don't know if it is the root cause its hard to say many customers / members are having issues with the phone.. There is an update coming in the near future supposedly by the end of the month but it could linger out longer Hopefully for all customers that have this phone it comes out soon.!
But the main issue and the one your seeing is how the change was made in how the phone reads the Network because of the  voLTE  the phone cannot do Voice and Data at the same time,   There's also an issue one's are seeing with the Wi-Fi part of the phone as well..
Here is a Post I wrote using the phone Simultaneously.. This is an Ouchie.. for the new Droid Turbo.!

  • Has anyone had issues with blue tooth in the car with Droid Turbo

Every time I play the music on my Droid Turbo via Bluetooth in my car, I end up having to do a factory reset in order to use the phone via bluetooth.  I can tell the phone to dial a number or I can answer a call but the person on the other end can't hear me even though I can hear them loud and clear.

        Belynda227,
That's definitely odd, we certainly need to get to the bottom of this so you can use it safely while driving. Have you been able to use it in the past without completing the factory reset? The factory reset deleted everything from your phone, is that the type of reset you're doing? If so, you need to pair your phone every time, which explains the problem. Is your car compatible with the phone? Some cars are not compatible, in this case some features work but not all. Use http://vz.to/11fpca7 to review compatibility.

  • I cannot send emails with pics using the stock email app on my new Droid Turbo, it holds them in the Outbox and won't send even if I move to Inbox and resend

I cannot send emails with pics using the stock email app on my new Droid Turbo, it holds them in the Outbox and won't send even if I move to Inbox and resend

First check to make sure you have data turned on and not just Wi-Fi. From reading your question you seem to be saying e mail is working just not attached photos. What size are the photos as some HD photos can't be sent. Your camera may be set at a very high picture size and you can go to settings and lower the size and that may solve your mailing problem.

  • Issues with Droid Turbo

I recently purchased a Droid Turbo from Best Buy. After a few days the phone stopped working. I took it back and got a new one, however now I am having issues with the sound notifications. Sometimes the phone doesn't make a notification sound when I receive a text or email. Also the phone lock sound doesn't work either. I have checked the sound settings and everything is on. What should I do or try?

I'd Return it for another new one  hopefully 3rd one's the charm and it has no issues. If ya return this one and the one you get does the same I'd look at getting your money back and Try another source Like going to a Local Verizon Corporate store to buy it)  But as I mention hopefully 3rd time is the charm and you see no issues..
    Good Luck.!  b33

  • IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE DROID TURBO BEING SLOW

IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE DROID TURBO BEING SLOW ON WIFI JUST TURN OFF GLOBAL MODE!! DONT ASK ME WHY THIS WORKS BUT IT DOES.  I TOOK MY FIRST PHONE BACK TO THE STORE BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS DEFECTIVE BUT THEN MY REPLACEMENT DID THE SAME THING.  GLOBAL MODE IS WHAT THE PHONE IS SET TO USE OUT OF THE BOX.  I SWITCHED IT TO LTE/CDMA AND NOW IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY.  AWESOME

I'm glad you had luck with this.  I have the same issue, and i've replaced the droid turbo 4 times.  I've tried it on 4 or 5 different wifi networks and it doesn't give me any type of speed at all.

  • Do I need a different back cover for wireless charging with the Droid Turbo?

Do I need to get a different back cover for Qi wireless charging on the Droid Turbo?  Or do I just need the charging pad?

One thing to Remember there's usually a Sweet spot that the phone has to be right on to make it work, And just to be aware some wireless chargers can cause Warmness in the Battery and the Backs of the phone..

I've tried to change Gmail accounts on my new Droid Turbo and haven't been able to do it. The phone says I need to do it on the Gmail app but when I go to the Gmail app I can't find anyplace to change accounts.

Go to settings, down to accounts, click Google, click your email, then click to the top right and remove the account. then add in your new gmail.

  • What is the best way to increase signal strength to my 5510L Hotspot in a rural area with bad coverage?  Inexpensive methods?

Living in a rural area with "spotty coverage".  No cable here.   Didn't want to go the DSL route because we will probably only be here 6 months.  Verizon rep said you'll have no problems with the Hotspot when he sold us on it.   Said we should get 4G.   Well, it turns out we only get 3G AT BEST, usually 1X whatever that means.   12-36% signal.  1-2 bars.  Very slow internet speed.  Frustrating.
I need a solution to increase my signal strength.  Do the extenders/boosters work?   Is there an inexpensive way?   Maybe I should have gone with the DSL with all the fees.
    Help please.

    Check into amplifiers and antennas:
    http://3gstore.com/page/13_will_an_antenna_help_me.html
Perform what is called a Site Survey to collect statistics about your wireless environment.  Compare those stats against the Interpret the Results tab of that site to see if anything can be done or not.
Most of this equipment comes with a return policy.  There shouldn't be too much harm in running a site survey, deciding what product to invest into, test it out and return if it doesn't work as expected.
Be forewarned, you cannot amplify a signal that is not already there.  If you are out in the boonies with no 4G LTE coverage then an amplifier may not have anything to work with.  Most booster kits are more effective with 3G signals anyways.

  • How can I delete more than one email with DROID Turbo

New DROID Turbo. Don't know how to delete all emails (no select all option?)

Thanks for the reply, wrkeen. If you're using the native email application on your Turbo, you should be able to press and hold one email in your inbox then the option to select multiple emails will become available. Comcast also has a special application, Xfinity Connect, for their emails. If you're using their application, please reach out to Comcast directly for email assistance.

  • I still can't be on a phone call and use data without wifi on my Droid Turbo.  I thought this was going to be fixed by late November.

    I am so disappointed.  I am a long time Droid user and research the Droid Turbo for several months before purchasing.  I even read the reviews that indicated that there was a issue when attempting to use the phone calling feature and data at the same time.  I called Verizon and talked with a rep. who indicated that he had the new phone and assured me that this issue had been fixed.  Unfortunately, when I received the phone this was not the case.  Even an update shortly after purchase still did not fix this issue.  All of my Droids before this did not have this issue...how can a newer more improved phone?  I even called Motorola and the English of the representative was so bad that I could not overcome the language barrier therefore no solution was reached.  Wish I had my Razr HD back :{

I can understand the concern CCONLEY.   Go to Settings>Advanced Calling> and select Activate Advanced Calling or contact Customer Service to get the features added. Once added Reboot device and go back to Setting>Advanced Calling>and ensure the Advanced Calling switch is set to On. Ensure you are in a 4G LTE service area and test again.  If there is still an issue, please let us know so we can forward your findings to the software team.    TamaraH_VZW Follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport If my response answered your question please click the "Correct Answer" button under my response. • Multimedia message problem droid turbo

My droid turbo has stopped receiving and sending picture messages. It worked. And then randomly stopped. It says "sending" for hours or even took 3 days one time to actually send.
&& when recieving picture messages it pops up as "download" & won't download or show the photo for hours or even days.
I did today's system update, turned it on and off & in safe mode.
    Nothing works.
I have signal. I have unlimited texting. And the phone has a lot of free space.
    Help me.
Its been like this since around thanksgiving.
    Is it just my phone?

my2kidsrup, Thanks for the details. We're super excited about the Droid Turbo so I'm sorry to learn that you're having difficulty with Picture Messages. Is your phone connected to Wifi when this issue occurs? The phone does need to communicate with our Mobile Network to automatically download, send, and receive picture messages. Which application are you using when sending/receiving picture messages?

  • Droid Turbo defective battery?

I purchased my 64GB Droid Turbo on the 30th and have tried everything I can think of but I can't seem to get more than ~8 hours of battery life.  I have already been in contact with motorola and performed their recommended "clear partition", done a factory reset, turned off data and location when not in use, only sync over wi-fi, etc.. Ideas? or bad battery?

Like Tidbits pointed out a Li-ion battery needs to have a rebuild charge sometimes.  Do a full 6-8 hour charge with device in sleep mode, next run it down to about 45-50 % and then a 4-5 hour charge. After that use your Droid and take it down to 30%. Another 6-8 hour charge and then down to no lower then 20-25% and one more full 8 hour charge. At that point your battery should be rebuilt back to a normal life cycle. This should eliminate your battery as a possible problem.

  • Droid Turbo Advanced Calling/ Internet Features Do Not Work!!!

This is my 2nd Droid Turbo since the phone came out last November. The first one had to be replaced because all the apps and the phone kept crashing. Let me just say that VERIZON and MOTOROLA both have some of the WORST Tech support I have ever experienced with a phone. I know more about these phones then they do. I even already know all the troubleshooting that they are going to make me do and waste my time!
I clearly tell the Level 2 tech support person that yes, Advanced Calling is enabled on my phone and on my account. Yes, it worked fine on my last Droid Turbo. As soon as I make a phone call the 4gLTE disappears and the phone says I have no Data Connection. I can't get on the internet unless I'm using WiFi. So ofcourse they try to trouble shoot it and that doesn't work so then they get Motorola on the line and this girl knows even less than the last one. On top of that she can't even speak English. Are you ************ kidding me!   What a wast of my time. In the end they couldn't fix ********
I'll never buy another Motorola phone and I'll probably just cancel Verizon since they don't have service in my area anyway. Which btw, I live in LA but my house is on top of a hill where Verizon has no service so they told me I can cancel my contract anytime. Too bad for them!

When you say "does not work," what does that mean, exactly? What happens? Any error messages?

  • Droid turbo stops ringing

My droid turbo will stop ringing and will not even show a missed call as other users have also mentioned.  If they leave a voice mail I will get notified but that is it.  If I have my LG tone connected it will not vibrate either.  I use the LG tone almost all day and sometimes walk out of range.  I am not sure if this is causing the problem since I cannot pin point when the phone stops ringing.  I get a voice mail and that's how I become aware.  I read the article to disable the Moto Assist but it is not loaded on my phone.  If I restart the phone it seems to start working again.  Any new ideas to fix the problem

Go to the App Marketplace and go to your "download history" or "downloads" (on the X, press the far left button at the bottom of the screen - use both hands, if necessary - sorry, a bad reference to another thread that I had some fun with..)
On this screen you'll find everything you downloaded from the App Market, including the purchased ones. From there, simply download and install them all....again...as you did the first time....(yes, I had to do this 4 times in a week with an errant Eris back in December....grrr, but necessary).
    Good luck,
