Droid Update - contacts have disappeared
When I installed the new update this morning, my contacts disappeared. Only their mobile numbers appear. So, I have to remember what person had which number and re-create the contact. Also, my text messages all show with the numbers, and not the contact names. Did I lose all my contacts forever?

I recently updated to iOS 8.1.2 on my iphone 4s. After about a week, I enabled iCloud for the first time. This afternoon I noticed a phone number instead of a name when I received a call, and then discovered all my contacts have disappeared! Any ideas how to restore without doing a full restore of the backup I did before I upgraded the OS. How do I sync my most recent backup of only my contacts on itunes with the (empty) contacts on my iPhone? My contacts list contains many vital details, such as addresses, email addresses, and alternate phone numbers and I don't understand how Apple could permit such a thing to happen.

My iPhone 4s has the latest OS update and this morning for no reason all my contacts have disappeared. Is there a fix or reason for this?
After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery. I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.
Sorry, your repair ruined the iPhone.
She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.
I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it-
Yeah, all Android user can think of is Jailbreaking, read this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3743 -
I recently updated a friends iPhone 3 to I cloud , however some contacts have disappeared. These seem to be the ones that were added onto her phone and not her sim. As I have done a sim import. This is the first time she has ever done a back up and sync.
This information will explain it:

Hope this helps -
I just backed up my 3gs iphone using itunes. All my photos and contacts have disappeared from my phone. I am unable to locate them on my computer. HELP!!!
OK, I understand. Try this ... it's much safer. It will simply restore your backup, but not do anything to your iOS:
While your iPhone is plugged in to iTunes, right click on the iPhone icon on the left side of the iTunes display.
Choose "Restore from backup ..." from the pop-up menu that appears.
Again, what this will do is place that backup back on your iPhone without changing iOS. So you should be very confident in the backup contents before doing this. -
Some contacts have disappeared from my phone. Not all just random ones. They are still in the phone because if someone (who has disappeared from my phone contacts calls me their name appears and if i search in text messages for contacts they are still there - but if i search in phone contacts they are not there, Help!
But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync. -
Could anyone help, suddenly my contacts have disappeared, or at least I cannot access them anymore, al I have is a GROUPS screen with All Contacts underneath and...nothing else, it says no contacts...how can I find them again? Help
I entered them directly into my phone. Two days ago, I plugged it into my mac and synced it with itunes, but i didn't sync the contacts and they were still in there after.

I went onto windows live messenger today and all my contacts have disappeared from it, but I also noticed that they had somehow now appeared in my curve 9360 phone contacts. How did this happen, and how can I get them back into windows live messenger and out of my phone contacts on my phone? This is driving me crazy, can anybody help please?
My phone is the curve 9360, OS is 7.0.0 bundle 2259 And it was purchased Easter Monday
Thanks. Thanks, but I checked iCloud and it has none of them.
If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it. -
I just went to look up an address on my iPhone and all my contacts have disappeared. My groups are there but ALL contacts are gone. Went to check my MacBook and they have disappeared from the iPhone as well. I am using Lion and iCloud. This is a disaster!

The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Delete any iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).
May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore back to where you are now. -
My contacts have disappeared off my iphone 5s
Hi
My contacts have disappeared from my iphone 5s for no reason and dont know how to get them back, could you please help? Are these iCloud contatcs?
Are all your contacts available when you sign into iCloud.com with your Apple ID from a web browser on your computer?
If so, you can force a re-push from iCloud.com:
On your phone: Settings > iCloud > Turn Contacts off > wait fro it to finish then turn them back on. -
My contacts have disappeared, where can I find them?
My contacts have disappeared off my phone. Where can I find them?
I assume in settings/icloud you have contacts turned on. If so then open the contacts app on your phone, tap on groups top left, then tap on the circular arrow top left and see what that does.

My contacts have disappeared this morning, I backed up yesterday but dont know where the back up is
the iphone is designed to be synced to your computer. You should have been syncing your contacts with Outlook, Address Book for example from day one.
Have you failed to do this?

My contacts have disappeared of my iPhone 4 after I tried a backup to iCloud. Can I recover these ?
Backups do not cause contacts to disappear.
Why do you believe this has occurred?
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service like iCloud/Exchange. -
All of my contacts have disappeared.
Woke up this morning and most of my contacts have disappeared. Any contact I entered directly to the phone is still there. Anything older or from Yahoo! mail is gone. Any ideas?
If you sync to iCloud, turn off contacts and say "Keep contacts on your phone" and then turn it back on again and select "Merge" and you should get your old contacts back

Re: Problems with pulling data from database
OK, I figured it out I believe. In the second recordset called rsEligibility, I dimmed it, then set rsEligibility_svuserid= "0". and then put in an if statement. In IIS 5 it worked, but not in IIS6. What I had to do was take out the part that set rsE
