Droid X accessories

I have a Droid X and thinking about getting the Droid Bionic , my question is will the bionic fit in the car dock and the home dock ?? thank you in advance for any insight

Chargers and HDMI cables would be the same, but cases and docks are different because the shape and size of the phone are different. There are a ton of different options for docks and cases for the Bionic, though. You might not want to use the home dock you have as soon as you see the Webtop Adapter and HD Dock that are available for the Bionic. Both of these give the Bionic a whole other dimension.
The Webtop application is awesome. You get a full firefox web browser and access to your phone's applications on your laptop. You should check it out.

Ok, Now that I have found that the battery life on the Droid Pro STINKS, I am ready to buy an extended life battry so that I can get through the day.
I go to the Verizon store and get the battery and cover and tell the employee that I need a hard case or silicone skin that will accomodate the extended battery. She tells me "we don't carry any, but MAYBE someone else makes one." What the deuce is up with that. Here we have a phone that by their admission has a poor battery life and they don't carry a case/cover that will accomodate the phone with their extended battery and door. Apparently, neither does the eluseive "someone else." I have searched eBay, the net and every accessory store in 2 malls.
Has anyone found one for this phone???

  • Accessories Not Available

    Verizon,
There is a total lack of Droid Incredible accessories when it comes to docking stations.  I need a car docking station, similar to the one offered for the Verizon Droid, that allows me to use Navigator without my phone sliding all over the car.  Also a Night Stand docking station would be nice for charging and viewing the Desk Clock screen designed into the phone.
Again, these accessories are available for the Verizon Droid.
WHEN WILL THEY BE AVAILABLE FOR THE HTC DROID INCREDIBLE???
    Best Regards,

  • Droid 2 Not Shown on Website Homescreen?

So the Droid X has been all over their frontpage long before it ever came out...I would say at least a month.  Well I've heard rumors that people have spotted Droid 2 accessories at Verizon stores & at Best Buy stores, also Best Buy has had some dummy Droid 2 phones on display.
So whynot the same hype on Verizon's homepage about the Droid 2?  Ok so maybe not front page, still leave the Droid X as #1 but not even on any of the other upcoming phone tabs?!  What's the deal with that?  I hear its scheduled for launch in mid August, which is barely even a couple of weeks away.
Just figured they'd have more fanfare for it than just searching for info about it on forums or websites like Engadget or Gizmodo.

Unfortunately there is no information available regarding a Droid 2 at this time. For the latest news, you can sign up for email notifications HERE then clicking sign up for email updates in the bottom right corner.

  • Droid Razr & Droid Razr Maxx Accessories the same?

Can someone tell me if the accessories for the Droid Razr are the same as the Droid Razr Maxx?  I'm upgrading to the Droid Razr Maxx and wonder if the Docking station, charging cords and car charging cords will work on it.  I'm thinking they will, but want to make sure.  I believe the plugs are all the same.  My concern is mostly the Docking Station.
By the way Ice Cream 4.0 should be coming out this year, but there is no set date for the Droid Razr or Maxx yet.  So, it may not be until 3rd or 4th Quarter until it comes out.

I did some digging on this subject after you brought it to my Attention!  An this is what i found the Car Dock that was Designed for the Razr is Only for the Razr an Not Maxx you can put the razr in it as a bare phone no Case or Take the insert out an put the Razr that's in a case in it!.
As for the Razr Maxx it has to have the Dock specifically Maid for it So it Will match up with the Dock Pins!! Using the one for the Regular Razr will cause a Miss alignment..
The One Hundred Dollar $100.00 Bundle that Verizon is Selling has the Car Dock for the Regular Razr Only!!  It however though has the Home Dock that will Work for Both Razr an Razr Maxx..
This is the Correct Container Box for the Car Dock.. for the Razr Maxx

  • Droid razr Maxx HD, Accessories

This is more of a retoricle question, just due to the fact this has been the case with motorola for years when it comes to accessories. I have yet to figure out why iphone/apple as soon as a new product comes out theres a boat load of accessories already out on the market. I know that the mfg. give out specs to the aftermarket mfgs so pre development of case's and other things can be done ahead of release of a new product, so why can't motorola or for that matter HTC, etc. do the same. For instance I had a Droid Razr Maxx when it first came out and it took at least 3 to 4 months to find a different case other than what Verizon offers. Now I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD and the same holds true. Is it that Apple has a better marketing department. I know that a iphone is designed for the cell phone impaired people, but come on the Android base system is still out selling apple, and for for a person thats been around the iphone and owned numerous Razrs and Android devise's, the Razr runs circles around any iphone. I tried even getting a Zagg invisasheild and even they don't have one yet, but all kinds of apple crap.      [ Gorrilla Glass still scatches ]. I can see why people by apple just due to fact of all the cool accessories that come out. Again I think the marketing dept. at the cell phone mfg. are asleep.

    I agree with above.
All the many manufactures out there when they develop all their accessories designs can machine and plan for one design when doing so for apple iphone, but when they have to look at the android lines to make covers, they would have to CNC (machine) and have multiple drawings and licences etc. That is why most of the accessory companies have more apple designs, because they do not change too often from design to design and everyone that uses apple (iphone) has the same specs....
I mean look at Motorola alone...the number of new design style phones they placed on the market in the last two years is enough to drive us crazy, imagine developing accessories for them...?

  • DROID RAZR by Motorola

Anyone else having issues with there Droid Razr camera freezing, navigation freezing and the phone generally not working at all, missed calls, not ringing on incoming calls, missed texts? I bought a new Droid in January 2013 after having the first Droid for almost 3 years and my 3 yr old phone was acting like my new phone that's why I upgraded to a new Droid 4g. Now my new $200+ dollar phone is working worse than my old one. I have already had it replaced one because the customer service rep at the Verizon store did not want to mess with it. I have to constantly have to re-boot the phone a number of times a day.
I went back to the Verizon store today and the phone worked great on the camera and google browser, but had issues with volume and others little things, but all the rep did is say she would write it down and to bring it back when it does it again. I am suppose to drop everything and run to Verizon when the phone has issues.
My dad got a free LG Droid a few months ago and his works much better and faster than my expensive one. I am really disappointed with the level of service with Verizon & Motorola. We have 6 phones on a 10 line plan all of them smart phones with 8gb of service a month you do the math. We have been with Verizon since 2001.

    To: Warren M, VZW Support
Thank you for contacting me, regarding the issues I was having with my Droid. But last week I took my second Droid back to the store and after having an in depth discussion with the store manager I ended up having to pay a $35. re-stocking fee, another $50 to chose another phone the DNA and then another $28. for accessories. So all totaled after having two of the Motorola Droids in less than 30 days I had to pay to replace it with a phone that works.
My only other option was to switch carriers and right now I do not have the financial means to do that, but in the future I will be seriously considering it after the issues I had with that Droid in one month and then having to pay a re-stocking fee to return a phone that did not work, even though it was with in 14 days of getting the second phone the mgr said the 14 days starts only on the first phone. I switched to Verizon in 2001 and now have 6 phones on our plan, I think it is time to start looking at other carriers and the support they provide to long time customers. My whole plan is smart phones all with data plans. I am not to happy with the support that the local Verizon store provided when I was having problems with my phone and the extra fee's that I had to pay to get a phone that actually worked.

  • Playing music in my car with Droid Razr...my problem

I used to play music from my droid in my truck via a microUSB to USB cable. I have a aftermarket high end stereo in my ride and this was the best option since a USB connection is digital and it charges the phone while plugged in, so no messy cables. After a over the air android update to the "Ice Cream Sandwich" version I can no longer do this as my steareo just spits an error message at me saying "No Support". When I inquired about this at my local Verizon retailer they kept pushing a car dock accessory package at me that would connect it to my radio thru the auxilary port. the drawback is however that I would now have to have a car charger cable to keep my droid from dying while in use. It all sounded like a marketing ploy to move accessories to me and quite frankly im more then a bit annoyed about it. I despise Apple products in all forms and refuse to drop additional cash on an Ipod. Is there a way to undo the Ice Cream Sandwich update or does anyone know of a setting that will allow music play thru the USB cable like it did before? I tried all the USB function settings, Mass Storage, Media etc... all say No Support on my trucks head unit now.

To answer the first part of the question, by keeping the phone stock, there is no way to go back to GingerBread. Once you did the upgrade, it wrote itself in the boot loader, and any time you factory reset, it will go to Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, as SmashOgre mentioned, there are other ways to do it, but they cannot be discussed here.
As far as your phone not working on your radio anymore, I am afraid I don't have access to a radio like that to test it with, so I can't tell you if it is an issue with your phone in particular or not.

  • My Droid Opinion (feel free to comment)

I'm glad I'm not the only one.  I notice certain things move a lot faster but there are a few things I could do without:
    1) I HATE TWITTER!  Moto, I know this is you, not Google!  Droid needs to find a way to allow me to remove Twitter.  This waste of space needs to get off my phone!
    2) The text messaging slowness!  Loading a text message takes forever.  I installed the 2.2 update and NEVER have I experienced such slowness.  I also hate the fact that when I get a new text message and I click to go into the message through the "Notifications" drop down, it takes me to the main text window.  NO!  I want to go to that specific message, you jerk!
    3) Customization!  I was really hoping they were going to open up the settings a little more.  I'd like to be able to control how the power distributes, new/more backgrounds options, new/more sounds, and even different option designs for the main menu (sort of what Windows will allow with the start menu).  Hopefully some day this will happen.
    4) The Desktop Size!  I was REALLY hoping the desktop space would open up like Droid X and Droid 2 does.  I mean I was REALLY excited about having that extra space, but instead we got an extra column on each side.  What kind of room is that?
Overall, I'm not thrilled with 2.2 so far.  I miss 2.1 and how responsive it was.  The message delays are SO frustrating, especially when we wait so patiently for 2.2 to be released.  We were told it would make us want to stick with our Droid, but instead it seems they're pushing us towards Droid X or Droid 2.  I guess that's why the Verizon store near me doesn't sell Droid accessories anymore.

I know someone else mentioend you can hide apps, but just so you know you cannot remove/uninstall preloaded apps. All android phones are like this with preloaded apps. I can't even uninstall preloaded apps on my T-mobile phone.
For texting other people mentioned to use another messaging app like HandCentSMS. HandCentSMS seems to be a smash hit. Everyone likes it. There is also ChompSMS,but I think HandCentSMS is more popular.
As for the power distributing download the app called Power Manager Full. That will give you more setting to adjust battery life. For backgrounds there is an app called Backgounds by stylem media. There are tons of backgrounds you can choose there. I downloaded a nice beach background. There is also this background app called WorldTour. You can set your background to a live web cam city. Like you can set it to New York, Time Square.  For sounds...if your are talking about ringtones check out the app called RingDroid. That is fantastic!

  • Do I need a different back cover for wireless charging with the Droid Turbo?

Do I need to get a different back cover for Qi wireless charging on the Droid Turbo?  Or do I just need the charging pad?

One thing to Remember there's usually a Sweet spot that the phone has to be right on to make it work, And just to be aware some wireless chargers can cause Warmness in the Battery and the Backs of the phone..

  • Attaching a stylus to the Droid X...

Well, I've tried looking at pictures but can't seem to get the angle I'm looking for, and since my phone won't be here until next week, I was wondering if anybody could tell me if it's possible to attach a stylus to the Droid X...? Some phones have two holes or a loop somewhere for accessories. I thought I saw two holes on the bottom left side of the phone next to the HDMI port.

    Hi,
Just wondering why people still insist on stylus?  Especially on a phone w/ as much screen space and pinch to zoom multi-touch?  A stylus would render "multi-touch" useless.  Plus, Droid X uses capacitive touch screen which doesnt play nice with your old stylus you've probably got laying around.
They do make special stylus for this type of screen and a simple search will turn one up for you.
but to answer your question, there's no place for a stylus on the body of the X because the designers had no intention of stylus control.  you can probably buy a holster and slip it in there.
Oh, but there is a place to slip a wrist strap, like you find on a digital camera.  Maybe you can jimmy something there.
    Tim.

  • HTC Trophy Accessories - Please share what and where!

Evidently, Verizon does not really care about this missed revenue opportunity.  I have yet to stop by a Verizon store (retail or partner) where there are any Trophy accessories in stock.  That includes major cities like Tampa, Boston, and Atlanta.  Shame on you.  Thank goodness for Amazon.
Picked up some cool cases during the holidays:
PDair Luxery Silicon Case - Coolest case I have seen for the Trophy yet.  Found this through a coworker in CA who purchased one for his Trophy.  $20 - no holla.  Just be aware that the case does ship from China.  Doesn't cost more, just takes a little longer to get your order.  Worth the wait!  Covers all of the phone except for the screen. Button access is good, as is access to all of the speakers and ports.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FMPI5G/ref=oh_o05_s00_i00_details
Case Mate Safe Skin - Started off as a favorite, until I found the PDair.  The case is black, silicon, covers the phone corners, and provides good button and port access.
    http://www.amazon.com/Case-Mate-Safe-Skin-Silicone-Trophy/dp/B004G8QQDW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329484654&sr=8-1
And while reading some screen-film reviews, I came across this:
Skinomi TechSkin - If you like bubbles on your screen, I can hook you up!  I am the WORST at putting on screen protectors.  That is probably the main reason why I like the Skinomi so much.  IT IS as advertised.  Spray the provided liquid on the film and place the film over the Trophy screen.  Allow 48 hours to set and dry.  You can still use the phone at that time, but after 2 days there will be NO BUBBLES.  The film texture does not bother the responsiveness of the phone and the texture is very forgiving with scratches.  Had my Trophy in my hoodie pocket with my car keys.  While there were a few scratches or indentations on the screen, they were gone by the next morning.  I can't say enough good things about this protector.

If you get a moment, please share what accessories you were able to find and where!

Um, okay, Anthony...  I hit your "Trophy" link and found a 2 Trophy batteries and an HTC backplate.  Out of 73 items in the "Trophy Store", 3 are HTC/Trophy specific and the rest are DROID accessories and surplus.
Trolling the forums for unhappy Verizon customers is, I am sure, a thankless job.  Here's a helpful hint.  HTC, Case Mate, and several other companies carry skins, authentic/customized leather cases, and screen shields.  It would be a lot less insulting to your Verizon customer to point them to a page with HTC, or Windows Phone stuff in inventory and not a bunch of DROID garbage.  Again, no offense to you - not your decision to overcommit on undesirable DROID accessories.
In addition, I am thinking that you would get a much warmer reception in the Trophy and/or Windows Phone Forums if you could get your Executive Management Team to carry something more than DROIDS and iPhones,  Not everyone likes, is going to like, will like, or has to like the DROIDS.  And your decision to carry the iPhone seems to now be a big no-profit hardware deal that has done nothing but clog our network with Angry Bird players and questions to Siri.  Nice going.     Difference here, Anthony, is that we DO know who to blame for this screw-up.  Let the guilty parties know that they need some Nokia, HTC and Samsung Windows Phones added to the inventory.  Thanks for trying to help out.

  • Droid RAZR now $0.01

    Crazy....
Amazon.com: Motorola Droid RAZR (Verizon Wireless): Cell Phones & Accessories
People were paying $200 yesterday, now it's free.

    Yeah Razr/ICS sucks without Flash.
I think this is fixable though. The Samsung/Google Nexus has the same CPU & GPU as our Razr and Flash works fine there with ICS 4.0.4.
Also the other 4.0.4 Devices have working flash.
I don't know if its Adobes fault or Motorolas. Both shoud get their ***** up and get flash back to working.
Im ok with Jelly Bean 4.1 not getting flash (I wont update). But Adobe states that Flash is supportet on devices 4.0.X !

Does the recharger cradle in the accessories pack accommodate a Droid 2 with extended battery?  If so, what are the differences between the standard droid 2 recharger cradle ($19.97) and the XT cradle 29.97 -- what does one get for the extra $10?  The description of features is identical except whether the standard cradle accommodates a Droid 2 with extended battery?

What are cases that work with the Droid 2 using the extended battery? I have the blue plastic one that has the raised back to fit the extra space for the extended battery, but i feel it makes the phone look cheap.
