Droid X call volume

I just got my Droid X about a week ago, upgrading from a low end cell phone.  I love all the bells and whistles with the Droid but I have one problem…call volume.
I am slightly hard of hearing and with my old phone I could turn up the volume high enough so it wasn’t an issue.
With this phone, the maximum volume isn’t really loud enough for me.  Is there a way to “tweek” the volume louder or can someone suggest another smart phone capable of louder volume?

All I can offer is that there are some Bluetooth headsets that are capable of very loud call volume. Maybe someone else has more info on just which ones are louder than others.
While I'm not hard of hearing (yet!), I have a problem due to arthritis holding onto a phone for more than a couple of minutes. And since  I do work in some noisy environments at times,  I got a Jawbone headset (the latest one is the Jawbone Icon. then I went to Averysound (www.averysound.com) and had them make an earpiece for the Jawbone. They send you a kit to get a mold of your inner ear and custom-make an earpiece. It works GREAT. I had to turn the volume of the headset down when I starting using the earpiece.
I think there are other options available for the phone from the assisted-hearing industry, I'm just not aware of them.

  • Droid Turbo 64gb call volume qualitity

Just got my Droid Turbo 64gb Ballistic Nylon a couple days ago. All great except call volume. Even at max volume I can barely hear the caller. But the caller hears me fine. Same thing when using speaker phone. My Moto X Xt1060 that this phone replaced was much better on call volume and clarity.
    Anyone else having this issue?

Found info about this issue on Moto Support site. Several people have had this issue.

Turning off Audio Effects in apps/settings/sound/audio effects worked for me.
And I do not have a case or screen protector as yet for this phone. Make sure neither cover the speaker slits on on front

  • Poor call volume

I purchased two Droid Bionic phones yesterday.  Both phones have the same problem.  When making calls, I can barely hear the person on the other end.  Yes, the in-call volume setting is at its max.  I'm pretty sure that the first call I made on the phone sounded normal, but ever since I can barely make out what the other person is saying.  If you change to speakerphone, you can hear the person on the other end normally.  And I'm pretty sure this isn't just the way this phone works - the volume is so incredibly low that it can't be normal.
Anyone with the same problem?  Any ideas on a fix?  I waited for 45 minutes yesterday to get through to tech support, and then I gave up.

Have you tried hooking a bluetooth headset to one of your Bionics an see if the Volume is any better or use the Bluetooths volume to get a better Volume level.

  • UCCE 8.5.3/8.5.4 call volume statistics not matching in interval tables

    hello,
We have just migrated a call center to UCCE 8.5.3 that runs roggers and ICM call flow scripts that contain very basic flows. In each flow there is basically a one-to-one ratio of call type elements to select skill group elements.
Generally you would expect the call volume (as our scripts are written) to have almost the same call volume in the call type interval table and the skill group interval table, with allowable differences because of RONAs, etc. But basically somewhat close.
In general this does work but after a reboot of the roggers (A and B sides) (logger down first, then router and reversed to start), the skill group interval data lags greatly from the call type interval data, meaning maybe 10% of the call type interval volume. We have learned that completely shutting down both A and B side and then briinging it back up in order from scratch seems to alleviate the problem (until the next restart). We cannot just leave the servers alone though due to company security patching policies.
Cisco TAC had recommended patching to UCCE 8.5.4 which we have recently done, but the probelm persists.
I was wondering if this data discrepancy has ever been seen by anyone else or if possibly some system config issue might be self-deating us? Rebooting the roggers leaves the phone system itself working just fine for the call centers, but the recording of statistics to the skill group interval table is greatly impacted with almost no recording of volume in relation to the call type interval (and for comparison, the call type skill group interval table as well).
We would generally not worry about it, but the workforce management vendor that takes its feed from UCCE only uses the skill group interval, which is basically reporting almost no volume in the mentioned scenarios.
If anyone can provide any information it would be most appreciated/
    Thanks.
    Greg

Thank you for the response. The time source check is a great idea. We ran into problems before when internal web service servers did not match the PGs (CTIOS service) and CTI provideed stats did not match.
We will continue to work through TAC, but I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this (as 8.5.4 sid not fix it) and if maybe it could have been something self-defeating in our system configuration or scripting. We did not immediately know this was happening until our 3rd party workforce management vendor made us aware.
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • How to calculate the Daily Call Volume

    Hello,
Can anyone please advise how to calculate the daily call volume in a contact center - the counts of the calls terminated in ICM ?
Is there any webview report or a SQL query which provides the count ?
Many thanks in advance for the help!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Naresh

The ICM software generates a Termination_Call_Detail record for each call that arrives at the peripheral. From This report you can get the number of calls to ICM as well as the call details.
To get the report run this sql query
    select * from dbo.t_Termination_Call_Detail where convert (varchar(10), DateTime, 101) = '12/03/2010'

  • Is the iPhone 5 call volume nice and quiet at the lowest setting?

I have an iPhone 4 and prior to this IOS6 debacle I was going to upgrade but for the moment I'm hanging fire until the release of 6.1
When I upgraded my i4 to IOS6 my call volume got much louder, even at the lowest setting it is too loud for me and I have to hold the phone away from my ear. I have reinstalled IOS several times to try and cure this (and other problems) but to no avail. I was just wondering if the different hardware on the iPhone 5 handles things differently? It is very important to me that the lowest call volume setting is quiet, after all we can always turn it up but not being able to turn it down is a big issue for me.

    Here's a screenshot

  • My sister had a problem with call volume being too low on the iPhone 5S.  Is the iPhone 6 louder?  Is anyone else feeling that call volume on iPhone 5S isn't loud enough?

I personally haven't experienced much of the "reverberation/feedback" when using a headset on the i4S...
Yes, I have near-perfect hearing too (for scope, squeaky brakes hurt my ears) I come from many conversations on many phones and types and first off, CDMA technology is great for coverage, terrible for voice quality. HD Voice in Europe made for some of the best phone conversations I've ever had.
Back on track, feedback is most noticable (similar to the landline phone) when using the iPhone without a headset, but for me it's not an absolute criticality mainly because I use VoIP apps alot, so maybe it has desensitized me some over the past year.
But whenever I'm on a call, and the other person has me on speakerphone, I have alot of trouble talking because of the feedback loop caused. So the less of my voice I hear the better I can talk.
Have you tried a bluetooth headset yet?

  • How do I increase voice speaker call volume when ...

    Hi
    http://www.bootstrike.com/NSeriesN95/faq.html
I have got my brand new N85 8GB, I tried the suggestion (197) in the link above to increase voice speaker call volume when I am in a call, but it did not work, neither for the "Speaker" nor for "Handset".
    Any suggestion ?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should increase volume during a phone call with volume keys, unless your keybord is locked during conversation. Try to talk with your phone slided up (open keyboard) and try to increase volume with your side volume controls.
    Good luck

  • How do i increase call volume

I just got my IPhone 4S and cannot locate where to turn up the call volume, not the ringer volume, but actually increasing the loudness of the caller?

    Hi Folks,
have had my iPhone 4 for the last week.  I'm quite tired of people telling me to turn up the volume...it IS all the way up both using the buttons on the side and the slider...the picture tells me it is at max...I'm not deaf (yet) and the phone is CONSIDERABLY quieter than my Palm Pre.  There is no plastic film over the earpiece.  I have had six people in the last week say "yeah, that's the only drawback of an iPhone...but you'll get used to it."  I'm not sure I'll get used to it.  With so many skilled programmers out there, you would think with so many questions all over the web, we'd have an answer by now.  I will pay the first person to send me a link to an app that actually increases the volume (amplifys the current in-call volume) to the volume of at least the Pre (not that great a phone or difficult a task...lots of music boosters out there, must be a way to boost the volume of the call), not using a head set, not using bluetooth, not using speakerphone: $50.00USD.  No joke, this is really aggravating me!!!  APPLE, PLEASE SOLVE THIS!!!

  • Where has my call volume gone....

updated to latest version and 2 strange things have occured....
1 - Call volume through handset has now gone inaudible as the volume is too low - works fine through headphones and speaker. Weird as has been fine from day 1 until the update.
2 - The home button now is not sensitive and I find myself pressing many times to get out of screens..
This is annoyingly frustrating and I cannot find any other solutions as hard resets are not working

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • HELP! Serious problem! LOW call volume!! NOT a goo...

I find the call volume very low even in a quiet environment. If outside, I find it very difficult to hear what my clients have said.
One fact business people love blackberry is because it has got good call and ringtone volume.
N900's ringtone volume is good, but the call volume is just too low. (I have already used the side button to max the call volume, the strange thing is, 50% and 100% make very little difference...)
    Any FIX!!!

hi, i can't really help but look back through the posts because there was a similar one before and there might be a solution there but it could be a hardware issue because mine's loud enough on around 60%

  • IPhone 4 warranty/LED flash and low in-call volume

I just got an iPhone 4 8gb, my boyfriend bought it for me from his roommate. I checked on Apple Support and entered my serial number and evidently the phone is still covered by warranty.
I noticed that during a phone call I cannot hardly hear the other person speaking. I tried EVERYTHING, hard reset, resetting everything, I made sure to have the in-call volume all the way up.. nothing. Also, the LED flash on the camera does not work. I did not notice this until I tried to take a picture in the dark. I turned on the flash, tried it in video, downloaded iTorch and it worked on and off a few times but it is very random. Whenever I place my finger over the sensor it will come on, but turns off immediately when I take my finger away.
Since the warranty is still valid, am I eligible to have this taken care of even though I didn't purchase the iPhone directly?

Okay so bringing it into the apple store, I can get it fixed. But what about the registration? The previous owner is military stationed overseas and the phone is still registered in his name, he couldn't use it over there which is why he sold it to me.. but its not like I can bring him along with me in the store when I go to get the phone repaired.
