Droid X, Camera issues, blurry photos

I am finding out this is an issue but wondering what suggestions you have.  I have tried to make photos clear but especially when making one into wallpaper it is stretched and blurry.  My Storm camera was better so far.  Otherwise I love the Droid.  What am I doing wrong here?  Thanks.

This may sound kind of a given but I have learned this gets overlooked...
1. Do you press button and allow camera to focus on subject before taking photo?
2. Are you making sure to take in correct Scene settings?
3. Have you configured the ISO for low light situations?
I wont say the camera is the best but I have used it for graduations and family reunion and was able to print photos  with very nice quality and I also play slide shows of photos on 50 inch TV without complants.

Sorry I can't help you. The Droid X has the worse camera of any cell phone I have owned. I downloaded a couple of phone apps that work much better. Pictures are especially bad if you need to use the flash.
Would you mind sharing the names of some of the apps that make the camera work better?   Yeah...the stock camera could be better.  In fact, I took some pictures this evening at a company event.  The pics on the beach (before the sun went down) were excellent.  However, the ones inside the restaurant were dark and a bit blurred, even set on "Night Portrait".
As I'm typing this, I seem to remember a posting on here about the various camera settings (Exposure, ISO, etc.).  I'll try to find it.
You can look at Camera 360 and Viignette, they have done well in the past but in my opinion I perfer the stock app since the 2.2 update, I paid for both of these apps and neither is being used any more.

Try Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / All Tab / Camera / Clear Data to resolve camera issue....  To disable startup sound try disabling Settings / Sounds / SD Mount or something along this.

  • I am frequently experiencing Iphone 5 camera issues, while taking photos all of the sudden the camera going to hang mode

    Hi,
    Greetings !!!
I would like to know what is the root cause of Iphone camera hanging ?
I am very frequently experiencing Iphone 5 camera issues like while taking photos all of the sudden the camera going to hang mode with full of pink & black line.
I noticed while camera app turns ON the phone going to hand.
I went to apple services server with this problem & they said they didn't see any errors.
Kindly response with my request, and provide me the solution.
    Thannks & regards,
    -Vamsi

That often happens with cameras when you take pictures of a computer screen. LCD screens "flicker" and the camera will often catch the flicker.

  • My camera is producing blurry photos before and after ios5. What to do?

My camera is producing blurry photos before and after ios5. What to do?

    Jp0man-
There are several reasons a photo might be blurry.  It might be out-of-focus, the iPad or subject might have been moving when the photo was taken, or the blur might actually be noise resulting from not having enough light.
Try taking a photo of a fixed object 3 or 4 feet away with a lot of light, with the iPad propped against something solid.  If you still get a blurry image, you may have a defective iPad and should contact Apple about it.  If you can demonstrate the problem to an Apple Store Genius, you may get a new iPad on the spot.

  • Blurry photos using rear camera

Photos shot with rear camera are blurry. I used grid and tapped to focus - no change. I've cleaned lens and even tried a reset. Still blurry. Any suggestions?

I am having the exact same problem. It started after I installed 2.2 on my 3G and upgraded the Itunes to the latest version. Running XP Pro with SP3. I have tried everyhing I know and can't fix the problem. I have another PC that runs Vista and just for fun I opened up the Camera function on that computer and attempted to delete the photos and it worked fine.
Looking at my event viewer it appears that the error has something to do with Windows Image Acquisition service (dll) System 32 Generic Host processes, or SP3. I did notice a message that flashed on my screen for a millisecond which also said something about another program using the application. That came when the icon showing the camera attaching to the computer usually shows up. Also, the same reboot happens if you dont use Camera Wizard and go directly to my computer, Iphone Camera, and then attempt a delete from there. I hope someone from Apple is seeing this. This is very frustrating. I just want to go back to 2.1 and the previous Itunes version. I can love with the other problems that were manifest in 2.1.

  • My rear facing camera has started taking blurry photos, it cant seem to focus. Any ideas?

My rear facing camera has started taking blurry photos, it cant focus on anything and just blurs. I have tried turning it off and back on, ive also done a restore and still doesnt work. If your really close to something it will be ok but anything other than right in front of the camera and it just blurs. Any ideas?

    i have iphone4 32gb.
my auto focus also not working.i was tried everthing but not work.
    -restore firmware/ios = not working
-install super camera = not working
and lastly i've got the problem solved!
    step 1:
open your default camera application and dont close it.
    step 2:
flick the rear camera using your finger at the top side and the back side of the camera lens,
and that same time too try to tap your screen to help your camera to force/help/make auto focus function to work.
and now your camera + auto focus is working!!

  • Major Bug in iPhoto '11 -- Blurry Photos in Books

I spent the last week putting together a photo book as a Christmas gift for my wife. I was just about to hit the Purchase Book button when I noticed that several of the photos looked blurry. I attempted to double-click on them to examine them closely, but nothing happened. I left the book layout area and into the album where the individual photos were. When I attempted to edit the photo, I got the dreaded exclamation point -- iPhoto had lost track of the original photos.
I tried rebuilding the database by holding down the Command & Option keys during launch, but after a very lengthy rebuilding process, the photos were still blurry. Luckily, I realized that the problem photos were those that I had used the "Enhance" feature in iPhoto's edit area. By clicking the "Revert to Original" button at the bottom right (or right-clicking), iPhoto was able to rediscover a high-resoultion version of the photo (pre-Enhancement).
It was a pain to go through over 100 photos and manually click the "Revert to Original" button, but at least I got my sharp, high-resolution photos back. Spending a week and $50 on a book of blurry photos would have been bitter disappointment, not to mention a lousy Christmas gift.

    Hi Larry,
    Thanks for your reply,
I did a rebuild of the library, but the error remained.
To answer the issues you have with my post:
1/ My post is not about books, but the original posting dug deeper and got to the issue of editing photos in iPhoto and having the same problems as I experienced and described. Exporting a photo in a book or in an email, what ever export/production mode is, it came down to a problem of photo Edit in iPhoto.
2/ Also, I found this post via googling "iphoto bug when editing photos". It is not the first time a thread is picked up a couple of months later, or is it ?
3/ Also, on "the "sharing" by email works but is failing as well"
Indeed the sharing by email works, that is the photo gets exported to the email, ie mail is activated and the photo is composed in email but in the email, as I mentioned, "the photo has a serious quality loss and is blurred, though in the Edit Tab/mode it is still full quality and sharp."
Thanks again for your reply and help.
    Best
    Tom

  • Blurry photos in iPhoto '11?

    Greetings --
I see from searching that this question has been asked, but it looks like those problems had to do with moving iPhoto libraries around.
In my case, all of my photos from my camera appear blurry in iPhoto -- see attached.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
I'd be grateful for any tips or advice --
    Thanks,
    Michael

Moving an iPhoto library does not affect the photos in any way
have you looked at these photos using preview or a photo viewer? It looks like a camera (or lens) issue to me from what you posted

  • IPhone 4 camera is blurry

My iphone 4 back camera is blurry and won't focus.. Anyone know how I can fix this?

    Hey there Weekels!
Here is some information that will help you troubleshoot this issue with your camera functionality on your iPhone:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

  • Iphone 4s Camera issue with 8.0.2

After upgrading to 8.0.2 on our iphone 4S camera does not work.  When opening the camera app from the lock screen or after unlocking the phone the camera app sometimes comes on if on video if swiping to the still photo it then goes blurry.  Other times it is just plain black.  Tried other apps from the app store and none work.  IOS 8 worked just fine.  Anybody else having the same issue?  Only other thing I guess is to do factory reset but really don't want to if other owners having same issue maybe Apple will send out a new update.
    Thanks
    Jeff

I opened my Camera App after the iOS 8.0.2 upgrade, the camera would not work at all (no image (just blurred black), no response on snap shot button), the Flash options, HDR option, Timer options at the top of screen were opening for selections to be made. None of the bottom options work at all ( filter effects, camera mode selections, snap shot button, shortcut to picture gallery).  The front / back camera selector at top right does switch even though there is no image from either camera, you can tell it switches cause the top options go away when on front camera mode, also when I toggle between the front & back cameras 2 - 3 times, it locks up everything on screen that was working, leaving nothing be responsive at all. I was thinking why is this going on, surely my camera (both cameras) weren’t destroyed by the iOS 8 install, makes no since. Then I thought to look around in the apps on device, something that would access the camera without actually physically opening the camera app on device. I ran upon the Game Center App (pre-installed), there is an option there to add a photo to your Game Center ID, I clicked on that, and an option came up (select photo / take photo) I selected take photo, and There Was My Cameras, Working Great, Crystal Clear Image, front and back cameras working perfectly. So, that leads me to believe that it is Definitely an issue with the iOS 8 (a bug) that affects camera operation, at least on the 4S, better yet, my 4S. Apple Support has left me hangin as far as my issue goes. same goes with other issues I'm having as well.
( jpND01 ) try going into Game Center, and see if your camera has an image in that App. By no means is that a fix, it just lets you know that your cameras are working. There aren't any of the cool (New Camera App) features there, just snap a picture for Game Center Profile.
Note: I am a member of Game Center, the Add Photo to ID comes right up when you open the App, don't know if that option is there if a none member.

  • Isight camera poor quality photos

I have an ipad3 which used to take great pictures.  Recently though, the iSight camera (that's the one facing OUT,  correct?) Has been taking photos that are too  bright, with uneven lighting and blurry pics.  I get this result wherever the photo is taken, the problem seems to be with the camera or lens?
FaceTime camera (the one facing the user)  photos look fine!
I'd appreciate any suggestions as to  what might be the problem and solution.
