Droid X - Data plan required when you active a used phone with no new contract?
Since the droid X is an older smartphone, is a data plan still required when you active a used phone without signing a new contract?

Verizon will not allow you to activate *any* android phone without data.

So, if I have a normal $30 data plan will I be able to connect to my companies Exchange server with email/contacts/calendar push? Is there really a way AT&T could prevent me from using the Exchange Active Sync on the iPhone 3G without the Enterprise data plan?
I'm just a regular guy who works at a small company and would like my personal cell phone - used 99% of the time for personal needs - to be able to access my work email/calendar/contacts.
Message was edited by: engstromOk, so I went by the AT&T store this afternoon to pre-approve my credit in order to save time on the 11th. Well, turns out it won't help, because they told me they are going to have to run a special iPhone credit check the day you buy it anyway, so it is pointless to get pre-approved (great job AT&T).
But, back to the subject at hand, they gave me this piece of paper with all this info on getting ready for the iPhone. Under the iPhone for business heading, it reads:
"It's easy to set up your iPhone for business use on company intranet sites, corporate email or other business applications. SIMPLY SELECT ANY BUSINESS VOICE RATE PLAN and add a $45 Enterprise Data plan for iPhone..."
To me, this would mean that you would have to start with a base business plan, then add the iPhone Enterprise data. Well, if you are an individual opening a personal account, can you even sign up for a business plan? If this is the case, then their own literature prevents you from even getting the Enterprise plan if you wanted to. It seems to me that the would be proof that you don't HAVE to have the Enterprise plan to use ActiveSync, Exchange, etc. -

Hi. I have an iPhone 4 with iOS7 and no data plan. When I am not connect to wifi I don't receive iMessages, but then when I do connect to wifi I get the messages telling me they were sent earlier. Is there any thing I can do to fix it? I don't remember how long this has been happening but it is very frustrating. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!!!
If you don't have a cellular data plan, then why are you expecting that you will have an active internet connection unless you are connected to wi-fi?
iMessages require either wi-fi or a cellular data connection. -

Only for the models that have cellular (3g/LTE), and even then only if you choose to use a service. All iPads come with built in WiFi that you can use with a home router or via WiFi hot spots.

okay. when i connected my iphone 5 to itunes it replaced all of the data from my old iphone 3gs (contacts, apps, notes, bookmarks,photos, music, everything you can possibly think of) with my new iphone 5's data. I am so frustrated with this. Why? and it did it by itself, i didnt touch anything, or clicked anything. please help me this is urgent! I am a businessman and need my contacts.
You're iPhone was probably set to automatically sync with your iTunes upon plugging it in. Best option is to restore from a backup, either on iCloud or your computer.

I have a 64b iPad and a lot of the storage is used up with data stored inside apps. Some of these data stores are 10s of GB in size. Such as, I keep some videos on my iPad that I play with VLC player. When I upgraded the iPad to iOS5 and activated iCloud backup, it immediately told me there wasn't enough room to back up my iPad entirely. I turned off backing up certain apps, such as VLC.
What happens to these apps? Are they still backed up during regular syncs with your Mac?when you plug into itunes you can backup to both locations (icloud and locally) just not a the same time. When you click on your phone in itunes you'll see this option
click icloud then sync (will backup to icloud when you sync)

click back to this computer and sync
keep in mind that if icloud has a 5GB backup limite unless you upgrade it

if you don't sync with itunes to the computer then whatever doesn't go to icloud is not backed up at all. -

all tool icons are gone from safari and apple mail tool bars. Tool tips works when you hover over the box with the missing icons. Macbook pro OS X 10.8.4

I would recommend reinstalling Mountain Lion to replace the missing/damaged components of these applications. While the process shouldn't affect any data (images, music, etc) you have on the system, it's always a good idea to have a backup in place prior to reinstalling.

iPhoto 9.2.3 is incompatible with MacOS 10.9.3 Mavericks. If you are running Mavericks on your system you need to update iPhoto to 9.5.1. Only, the problem is, that this version is no longer available at the App Store.
The easiest way to get a compatible iPhoto version in that case would be to upgrade to Yosemite, MacOS X 10.10, and then download the most recent iPhoto version from the AppStore, iiPhoto 9.6, like LarryHN suggested.

Help, my iphone 5 is locked and will not function! I've turned it off and on and it has the same fault. What ever you press on the screen highlights with a box round it. When you press the round button with the square in the centre the voice on the phone tells you the time. Then the voice says screen lock. If I try and unlock the phone the voice says phone unlock but you can't put the code in. If you hight the box it will say the number but not put the code in?! What's the crack?
