Droid X Gingerbread Bluetooth Bug

My droid x will no longer "auto connect" to bluetooth devices.
With Froyo I could just turn my car on and it would automatically connect to my stereo... or automatically connect to my laptop, whatever.
Now I have to go into my stereo and manually initiate the connection (They have already been paired).
Or on my laptop, manually say "connect to Droid X" to initiate the connection.
I have set my phone to automatically connect and my car stereo is set to automatically connect as well... Yet it will no longer auto-connect. Very annoying.
(Car is set to connect to phone as an audio device, not as a phone)

I run into a problem once in a while with my bluetooth headset not connecting up the first time I turn it on. It doesn't happen very often. When I turn off my headset, then turn it back on, 99% of the time it reconnects, and only a oouple of times I had to cycle the headset power again.
I have the bluetooth off until I am heading for the car. I always turn the bluetooth on at the phone first, then turn the headset on.
If I turn the headset on first, then the phone, it seems to have a harder time connecting correctly. This happened back in the Froyo days too.

  • Bluetooth bug in OS 10.0.10.672 (software version 10.0.10.85)

    Hi there,
It appears that the latest release of the software has introduced a nasty Bluetooth bug.  Before this release my Z10 worked perfectly fine with my HandsFree Link in my 2006 Acura TL.  However, since I installed the latest OS release 10.0.10.672 (software version 10.0.10.85) I can pair with the vehicle however any call in or out causes the Bluetooth connection to be instantaneously dropped.  The device simply cannot manage a conversation.  Please note that the device itself does not disconnect (it is still paired), but it cannot service any audio between the vehicle and the Z10.  Restoring to an older release of the OS fixes this issue.
Is there any way to get this resolved at all?
    Please advise.
    Thanks!

When my wife returns with our 2008 Odyssey with HandsFree Link I'll give it a try. I know it was working before I upgraded, as well. I'll post back later this evening.

  • IOS 8.3 bluetooth bug...ugh!!!

So, Apple has done it again with iOS 8.3. I am an aircraft pilot. EVERYTHING I do is on my iPad. I just recently updated to iOS 8.3. Well, I went to take a flight yesterday, and my bluetooth GPS antenna would not connect. (yes, I have paper charts...but it's no fun trying to fly that way.) After 3 reboots, several forget device/connect to device...I got nowhere. Well, I didn't fly that day. However I managed to waste a lot of time going out to the airport, preflighting the airplane, and driving back home that day. I know this sounds like "new world problems". But aren't apple products supposed to "just work"?
Well, I got back home last night and found warnings posted all over every aviation webpage/blog/forum about this bug. It has been confirmed by several companies techies and they have ALL stated that this is an Apple error. Apple has also confirmed this.

I am now looking for solutions.... Some have downgraded their iPads back to 8.2. I really don't want to have to do this. But many people have blogged that the iOS 8.4 Beta does not fix the issue either. Thanks Apple....
I have all Apple products, and have been an ALL Apple consumer for the past 10 years. But this is unacceptable. Oh , by the way, all the pilots with Android devices are still flying without issue. I never thought I would EVER say this...  But if this issue is not fixed VERY soon, I will be shopping for a new android device. I do NOT relish this thought, but every day with the iOS 8.3 bluetooth bug, is a day that I CAN'T FLY WITH GPS!!!!
I am sure other venues besides aviation are affected by this....       Any other solutions or rumors from the community are greatly appreciated.
    Frustrated pilot.

  • Microsoft Fixes Critical Windows Bluetooth Bug in July Patch Tuesday

Microsoft has patched a critical vulnerability in Windows 7 and Windows Vista related to the Bluetooth stack in the operating system. The bug is the lone critical vulnerability fixed in today's Patch Tuesday release, and Microsoft officials said it's unlikely that it can be used for remote code execution.
The patch for MS11-053 fixes a vulnerability in the way that the Bluetooth stack operates on Windows machines. Despite the low likelihood of it being exploited, it's the most serious of the 22 vulnerabilities Microsoft fixed on Tuesday.

  • BlueTooth bug with car

Since the 4.3 update there's a big bug with the bluetooth connection with the car system - it still exists after a factory reset:
I paired the phone and the car. But every time they connect, I get a message box if I want to grant access to my phone's messages. Even the "Allow always" option does not work and I get asked every time. Very annoying!!

Hello, I'm having the same issue after updating my Xperia SP to Android 4.3 (12.1.A.0.266). In my car (Mercedes Benz A-Class from 2013) there is a radio called "Audio 20 CD" built in. Every time when I want to get into my car, my smartphone wants a connection request for my messages (SMS).The option "Always Allow" does not work. The phone does not remember the next time. I tried several times a new pairing of phone and car radio and I cleared the cache of the bluetooth-share app and smart connect app, but this didn't solve the problem.  Is there a fix available? With kind regardsThorsten

  • IOS 5 Bluetooth Bug?

Since upgrading to iOS5 on my 3gs, I have had problems with bluetooth.  When the phone is powered on, none of my previous bluetooth devices show up on the phone, and will not automatically link with the devices.  If, in the settings menu, I turn bluetooth off and then on again, all of the devices show up and they link normally.  Quite annoying, especially for the bluetooth in my car.  Any suggestions on how to fix this, or is this a bug in the new OS

    Hi Brian,
I have the exact same problem.
No bluetooth detection at all, between my iPad, my iPhone 3GS, my iPhone 4S, and all other bluetooth devices !!!!
Apple do something quickly to fix that please, any other people can confirm this major bug ??

  • Droid Pro dropping bluetooth connect

Issue: Droid Pro seems to drop its bluetooth connection with late model BMW very often. Will cut a call with no notice. User had no problem with previous phone in the same vehicle (BBerry 8830). Anyone experienced this issue? More importantly... is there a fix?
    TIA

    Hello Community members
I know how important hands free kits are. I also know that some automobiles aren't as up to date as our new devices.
I've checked the BMW's website and the Droid Pro at this time isn't listed as a Bluetooth compatible device. Here's also a link of blue tooth car kits that are available for your current device. I would contact the automobile dealership to see if they are going to cover the device and when.
    Thank you

  • 3.1 Bluetooth bugs?

So i am pretty sure this is a bug. My car has bluetooth handsfree and audio streaming built in. 3.0 and 3.0.1 worked just fine - no issues.
With 3.1 - it still works, kinda. No issues streaming audio and you can still make calls. However if you are streaming audio via bluetooth, and make a call from the phone via the bluetooth handsfree - the ring doesn't sound over the bluetooth at all. It seems like the phone is just hanging and not connecting, and just when you are about to say *, the call connects. It's kind of jarring.
BUT when you are not streaming bluetooth audio - and are listening to the radio or whatever... ring sounds just fine. Additionally - when i dial through the car, ring sounds just fine. In fact - it works just fine with everything but Bluetooth audio. heck you can even swith audio source and actually here it ringing, just not when its on bluetooth audio mode.
Anyone else see this with either a headset or a car? I am thinking this is a bug because the ring sounds properly in every other bluetooth use situation.
have tried restore to new phone, re-pairing, hard restart, all to no avail. i know it worked prior to 3.1

update - tested some more and you can even change audio sources and hear it actually ringing.

  • Droid 2 Gingerbread issues

I have the Droid 2, and did the Gingerbread update in September 2011. Since then I have been having strange issues, and from what I have read online, I am in good company. And of course, prior to update my phone had none of these issues, and I have had it for over a year!  ...My poor Droid.
My main issue is my phone rebooting itself on it's own will...and at very random times. It locks itself up,goes black, and reboots.
It seems to get hung up, and then give up
It also will lock up and not allow the screen to orient itself in the correct direction.
I don't think I am getting some messages /emails /phone calls as they come in (as people have said "I just tried to call you"...etc.), or get a mysterious voicemail...when the phone never rung???
I have done a "soft reset" multiple times, but am afraid of tanking it entirely if I do a "hard reset".
I don't have a lot of junky apps on it either, and stay on top of what is running and not running. So I don't believe that is the problem.
Thankfully at least I have not had any battery issues.
Any help would be great...or I may be buying a new phone.
Opinions on the Bionic are also welcome!
    Thanks.

Well...I went to a Verizon store yesterday, and I explained to the sales associate there what was going on. Without even having tech support look at my phone she told me to download the Gingerbread keyboard(because my keyboard wasn't working), and to just lock the orientation on the screen to solve that issue. Then to top it all of...she offered to sell me home phone service...
There was no answer as to why the phone locks up and reboots at random.
Not the best experience by any means. I just said "Well I guess I'll just see what happens"...and left.
I know she was just doing her job, but it didn't really help me at all.

  • Droid Turbo, no bluetooth texts received!

My current Droid Turbo is paired with my Tacoma truck and i only receive voice calls so no texts.  Will Lollipop fix that?

If I get a text while connected via Bluetooth, the text will appear on my phone but I will not get an audible alert while in my truck.  I have not tried other devices in my truck.  I even took it to Toyota and they said it had something to do with the phone software?  That’s why I am hoping Lollipop will fix this issue.  Do you know?
    Thanks,

  • IOS4  - bluetooth  bug.

    Hi,
I have an iPhone3G and I have successfully installed OS4. All works fine except fro the bluetooth: Now the name printed the car display are random char string. This is certainty a bug of the new iOS4 ... all worked with OS 3.1.3 ...

I've had the same issue. iPhone 3GS previously worked flawlessly but would not maintain a bluetooth connection via the Ford Sync system after upgrading to 4.0. It could sometimes pair and connect and on one occasion I successfully spoke for about 5 seconds via bluetooth, but otherwise completely fails to be functional.
AppleInsider reports that an updated iOS is being developed (4.0.1) for release early next week that addresses several radio and signal issues in 4.0.

  • Lion bluetooth bug

Since upgrading to Lion, my macbook pro has been experiencing connectivity issues with my apple bluetooth devices (trackpad, wireless keyboard) when I transfer from one workstation to another. I plugin to an external monitor at home with an apple wireless keyboard and trackpad. Then use it stand alone at a coffee shop. Then plugin to another monitor, apple wireless keyboard and trackpad at work. At that point, the bluetooth stops reading signals and will only correct itself on restart. I wiped out all the saved devices in an attempt to resolve the problem, but the problem came back again.
This was never an issue with snow leapard. Does anyone have any ideas what could fix this problem?

No problems here with Lion and Bluetooth...
    Could be corrupted preferences.
    Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.
    See if that helped...

  • Ipod nano 7th gen bluetooth bug?

It cannot discover or pair to any other devices, though other devices will discover the nano (but not pair).
Tried 4 different nano's and none work. Even the Apple store genius bar couldn't find a nano 7th gen that
works, and there were plenty of bluetooth enabled devices in there. The ipod touch worked just fine.

I am just puzzled with Apple Store, that if, they did tried to pair an iPod nano with other bluetooth devices that they sell in the shop and they were not able to succesfully pair these devices. More so trying to pair other nanos with the same result. I also have the 7th gen nano and it is pairing perfectly to my Jambox speaker. It is even pairing with my Samsung Galaxy S2 (just pairing though, with no functionality). Because as long as the ipod nano is ON, within the range, and compatible (which most bluetooth devices are), I do not see why the ipod nano or nanos will not be able to pair with any bluetooth device/s in the Apple Store. Sorry I cannot help you with this one.
