Droid X Locking up and Rebooting

Curious if anyone else has had their Droid X randomly freeze up, then suddenly poweer off or reboot itself? It seems to happen about once a day. I can't detect any particular pattern. It happened once during a phone call. The call just went dead, the screen appeared to be frozen for about 5 seconds, then the whole thing powered off and rebooted. The other times it happened I was in the middle of texting or looking at something with the web browser, when the device froze and then suddenly rebooted? Not sure if this is unique to my Droid X or a more common problem?

Well, we tried. But it looks now like understanding the reasons this small number of phones experience regular reboots is going to take some time and investigation. If your rebooting problem is serious, at this time I think you should consider taking it back to your place of purchase for an exchange. It's your call -- mine rebooted the other day, and it did it a couple of times in the first week that I started using it. For me, that's not a big deal. My PC crashes sometimes too. But if you can't rely on the phone, that's different.

Droid razr locking up and rebooting

We'll mines doing the same thing kind of. On battery power I noticed that once it hits 40% battery you search the web or emails or even to some texting it will lock up or freeze and then let it set and it reboots on its own. Then it will lock up upon restarting and do it again about 3 times in a row. Did a factory reset yesterday and today sane thing. So since it off warranty I eaither deal with it or do an insurance claim.

Have you tried booting into recovery and clearing cache? That cures a multitude of ailments.

There are two situations in which iphone become locked and un responsive.
1.Somebody called me and somehow ,I do not pick the phone then sometimes locked and needs to be restart the iphone.
2.When somebody called me and I cancelled his call.When I tried to unlock the iphone it becomes unresponsive and needs to be reboot.
I have become frustrated from iphone.
Can anybody help me what kind of problem is this H/W or S/W

Back up and restore via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a new device and test. If the problem is solved, there is some kind of corruption in your backup file or maybe it's one of your apps causing problems. If it continues, take it to an Apple Store for evaluation of a possible hardware problem.

TV @nywhere locks up and reboots computer

Hey guys,
My dad fished out an old TV Tuner he bought back in 2002, but never used. It is a MSI Tv@nywhere.
Well I put it in, but everytime it finishes installing the driver (windows copying the files) the system locks and the computer reboots.
Any ideas? I have tried downloading the latest drivers and the original ones from the CD.
Could it be my 350w Antec Truepower PSU?
Currently I have:
3200+ Venice @ 2.6GHz
Biostar TForce6100
4 80mm system fans
1 DVD Drive
2 5400 IDE HDD's
7900GS overclocked in sig
I set the overclock back to stock and it still reboots...so I'm not sure about a PSU issue.
I did a search but found nothing. Is there a fix to this?
Any ideas?

It still reboots with no error message. The mouse just locks up...then about 5 seconds later the system restarts.

My computer locked-up, and when rebooted, my itunes library was gone, replaced with a brand new library. Fortunately, my 450 GB iTunes library is still on the computer. Question is how do restore my original library without having to reload folders? Tks

Help! My computer locked-up and had to be rebooted. However, when I restarted it and hooked up my iPod, I noticed my existing iTunes library (all 450 GB of it) was GONE and was replaced by a brand new library. Fortunately my old, 450 GB library is still on my hard drive under iTunes in Windows Explorer. How or why could this have happened, and most importantly how can I restore my old libary without having to manually import allow of my music and hundreds of Podcasts and 16000+ podcast files?

What you're describing is the expected behaviour. I believe though that is also is the easiest way to have all the contents available to both of you at all times. If you have a spacious hard drive you should probably allow this to happen as anything else will be harder to manage.
My suggestion would be the following if you want to try something different.
Store all your music at a location that is accessible by both of you — an example would be to use your Public Folder as the locations where iTunes will go and look for all the media files—. Your wife does have access to it.
In the Finder you will need to move the folder name iTunes Music to the location in your Public Folder (see above). Once that's done, you and your wife will have to go into the iTunes Preferences > Advance Preferences and un-check Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library. From this point on, you can continue to use iTunes as usual. You'll need to tell your wife what has been newly downloaded/imported into your iTunes so she can manually go look for those items in that Public Folder iTunes of yours and import them into her iTunes. She will not duplicate by doing that, but, like I say this is an all-manual work.
She can do the same, so you have access to contents she imported herself. One more downside of this is that both usernames have to be active in your iMac. If yours isn't, she won't be able to access any item (song, book, app) located in your Public Folder's iTunes.
I'm sure there's a way, if you have an router with external hard drive conectivity, for both of you to be able to access —independently— the iTunes Media at all times but I was just reading at another post that doing so can further complicate things.

To hard reboot your iPhone 3GS hold both the sleep/wake and the home button at the same time and it should shut down, wait a few seconds before shutting it back on. Also you can hook your iPhone up to itunes and under the iPhone screen select restore to bring the phone back to a clean state. That may help in cutting down on how much it freezes, but make sure you back it up before you do do this if you wish. That way you can restore your old data.

Two weird issues with my Mac Pro (locking up and failing to reboot)

I am having two problems with my Mac Pro. The first one is every time I put it to sleep and then wake it up it locks up. This problem came after I installed Leopard (in Tiger sometimes it would take longer to come out of sleep but it always came out). My other problem showed up after I installed Leopard as well, every time I go up to the apple menu and click on restart my computer dose everything normal but when it goes to the “off” state it sits there and reboots over and over and over again. I don’t ever hear the bong or see the grey start screen; I can just hear my CD-ROM drives being accessed (clicking sound I usually hear when I turn the computer on) over and over again. I have run the Apple Hardware Test and it comes back clean, I have also reset the SMC and zapped the PRAM.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these problems and knew how to fix them.

This is exactly what my Mac Pro did before it died last Friday (9 November 2007).
Apple keeps saying Mac Pro death isn't common, but I've talked to a dozen people whose Pro died just like mine did.
Apple gave me a brand new Pro Sunday, which was nice of them, and I probably was just unlucky with the first one.
Still, it is obvious that Apple is having QC issues lately.
USB video devices will crash a Mac Pro consistently, for example. It's really disappointing because the machine is very nice otherwise.

Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.

i have downloaded a theme from blackberry app onto my curve 8520, done everything it has told me to and rebooted when requested... but now my phone is locked and can not get into it... have taken to battery out to see if there is any change but there isn't and now i don't know what to do please advise????

Who replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

BTW - there is also the Force Quit option in the Apple menu dropdown. Wasn't sure if you could select menu bar options, so gave you the keystroke shortcut.

Have you run Disk Utility/Repair Permissions and/or deleted the .plist from your user library To see the user library, hold down the option key while using the Finder Go to Folder command.
