Droid X - SD micro card

My new Droid X only came with a 2g card. Can I buy a 16g to replace it? Can it handle one that large?

It is really simple,
1. Place new card in phone
2. Place the 2 Gig card into your pc card reader if you have one
3. Plug phone into pc with usb
4. Pull down top bar on phone and select SD Card / Mass Storage
5. Open old card directory and select left "CTRL" and "A" while still holding "CRTL" (This will highlight everything in drive)
6. Now Press left "CTRL" and "C" while still holding "CRTL"
7. Open Directory for Phone (Last Letter Drive) and then right click and select paste or "CTRL" and "V" while still holding "CRTL"
8. After all is copied you can remove usb from phone and away you go....

You should choose a good brand like sandisk or kingston.

  • SDHC Micro card Class 10...?

While I am waiting for my Incredible I've been shopping for accessories.
Has anybody used the Kingston class 10 16GB yet? Kingston says it is version SD 3.0 protocol but is backwards compatible with SD 2.0. The Droid manual spec the card slot at SD 2.0.
If the Incredible can't rise to SD 3.0 I am thinking Kingston's Class 10 card is no benefit over the current fastest SD 2.0 which would be a Class 6...
I am trying to look forward to Froyo with the ability to run apps from the card.

    Here's Kingston's reply on SD 3.0/2.0 compatibility
"SD 3.0 is not related to speed. It is related to capacity. It means that this card is compatible with the upcoming SDXC standard. SDXC will allow for even larger capacity SD cards. SDHC cards are limited to 32GB. As for the speed, you should contact the phone maker to see if it is capable of the class 10 speed."
Apparently SD 3.0 is an interim standard to bridge the gap until SD 4.0 comes with higher than 32GB capacities, the 3.0 cards will be compatible with SDHC and SDX devices, if I am correct...
The fact that HTC was a bit ambiguous in regards to the DI's read speed leads me to think they are not really certain. The tech did indicate it is a hardware related issue and although the earlier HTC phones were limited at class 2 read speeds she thought perhaps the DI may be faster due to the snapdragon processor.
FWIW I went ahead and picked an A-Data 16GB Class 6 which should be more than sufficient. I saved 40 bucks over the Kingston and if it turns out the DI can indeed read at higher speeds and there is a need I can always pick one up later, they'll probably be cheaper by then anyways.
Now I just need a phone to put it in....

  • I have a samsung 32gb sdhc micro card class 10 but my mac runningosx 10.9.1 maverick does not read/recognise the card at all

I have a Samsung 32GB sdhc class 10 micro card but my mac(intel) running OSX 10.9.1 maverick does neither read or recognise the card apple have no answer?

I have the same problem with a 32GB SanDisk card. In fact, I have the same problem with all my SDHC cards—none of them are recognised by Mavericks (10.9.2 here). I'm on an early 2011 MBP.
In order to get images and video from my camera I have to tether it and upload via the camera.
Prior to Mavericks I was on Lion, where the same SDHC cards mounted with no problems.

  • Micro card problem

    Hi everybody!
Now then!!!  I took the back off my phone to clean the lens screen of the camera....my micro card popped out and I popped it back in, now, for no apparent reason my Nokia 5300 phone has stopped recognising my Nokia 2gb micro card. I have a fair bit of important stuff on the card....but the phone will not even 'see' it.
I have used my 'firewire' (?) cable and used NIkia PC Suite and that does not 'see' the card either.
My friends' pc and digi camera does 'see' the card, but says it needs formatting.........but of course I dont want to format it....and besides, will MY phone recognise the card afterwards anyway??  But I dont understand why it has happened!  How can I get my equipment to recognise my card please?
    'Knowledge is Power'

Chuff me!!  Is it that simple a task to loose stuff that easily??? I did not know that a phone had to be swithed off before removing the card!!
Can I not use a firewire cable and scandisc it?
My friends laptop has a card slot (is this a card reader?) can I scan disc off that??
And thirdly....what happens when a scandisc is run , please?
Thank you for your very swift response.

  • Droid Pro- No sim card

My Droid Pro on the standby screen indicates, "no sim card" but it does have a sim card.  How do i fix this?

remThank you for those instructions. I noticed that when I put the phone in safe mode, my facebook icon wasnt available.  Does the mean that may be the cause of my phone freezing issues?  By the way, my phone is indicating that the SIM card is available.

        Hi chillione,
Thank you for taking the time to follow up with us. If you are still getting an error message with the sim card, we would need to put the in Safe Mode. This will help us determine if we an application on the phone is causing the phone to freeze. Here is how you can complete this http://bit.ly/qHs9Z6 .
If the phone is working fine while it's on Safe Mode, this means that an application on the phone is causing this issue and we would have to complete a master reset. Here is how you can complete a master reset http://bit.ly/soIMAw . Please let us know if you need additional assistance.

  • Micro Card Problems

For no apparent reason, neither my phone, nor my computer will recognize my micro-card. This is hightly annoying, since they have both been recognizing it llike crazy for a couple of years.
Any hints as to what I can/needto do?

This definitely is fixable &  important, Shop99er!
Were you able to save the files to your computer & then format the card from your computer?
That would be the next step in trying to determine why your computer reads the card but your phone won't.
Did you get an error message when you put the SD card in the phone? How about when you tried to put the SD card in another phone? What we need to determine is whether or not the SD card or the phone is the problem.
I look forward to hearing back from you if you are still having this issue.

  • Micro card symbol????

I've been getting a micro card symbol on my phone the last time I got it it was red I had to shut off my phone and restart it what is going on with my phone

It could indicate the card is lose, incorrectly formatted or defective. First try resetting the card and rebooting the phone. Next try reading the card from your settings to see if the phone is seeing the card now. If you do format the card you will have a complete lost of all information on the card. You may need to purchase a new card.

  • Micro Card Error

I'm struggling with Micro Card error on y BB 8900. I inserted a new Card 8GB , I'm able to format and use with Media Sync . but as soon as I disconnect from PC , card becames unreadable from BB, claiming for card error (of course if I put directly on PC - I do not have any error and I can use it). I tried to check and reformat several times both on BB and PC, but after first copy I get same error. I'm running desktop sw 4.7 and device is 4.6 . Any clue ?

Reformat the card, then Options => Memory => Enable Mass Storage Mode and connect to your PC via USB. Finally forget about Media Sync, use the BB memory as an external disk, copy and sync manually using some file manager, for example Total Commander.

I don't think the A1000 supports Apps2SD (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong).
There is a firmware update that increases the amount of internal storage dedicated to apps.  In the device settings, go to About tablet->System Updates and install any updates that are available.

  • Alcor Micro Card Reader

When I tried to upload pictures from the memory chip out of my camera the card reader does not recognize the memory chip. HP had an update driver for the Alcor Micro Card Reader but it would not install. My computer is an HP Pavilion p6-2378, Win. 8.1, 64 bit the Alcor Micro Card Reader Driver is for a 32 bit so I was wondering if there was a way I could get a newer Alcor Micro Card Reader program because when I went to the Alcor company they said that they only sold to companies like HP that built the computers. I was told by one of the techs from HP to reinstall the Alcor Micro Card Reader from the recovery disks but if the Alcor Micro Card Reader would not install the new driver why would I want to go to the trouble to reinstall. It don'ta make sense. Is there any help out there?

  • Droid 3 No SIM card found and various malfunctions

    Hi everyone,
I have had a Droid 3 phone for a few months.  When I first recieved my new phone from the retailer, it had some simple OS malfunctions like resetting my wallpaper and restarting a couple times.  It only lasted consistantly for a couple days so I didn't return it in the 15 day window they give.  However, if I am opening and closing the slide a few times, the wallpaper problem comes back.  Sometimes it does correct itself if I just turn off and turn back on.  Other times I have to reset.  And it will restart once in a while, but this doesn't bother me so much.  Still not the biggest problem I have though.
Starting yesterday it could not find my SIM card.  After searching online to figure out what that was and where it is located, I also searched solutions.  All places I looked said to try to shim a piece of paper between the card the bar that holds it.  That did not work.  Further advice said to call the manufacturer and have it replaced.  Am I able to do this?  I do not have insurance on this phone.  Would I contact Motorola or Verizon?
Also starting yesterday, the volume adjustment buttons started malfunctioning, they turn the phone on and off (main power is still there, just turns to sleep or awake).  Once I bring the screen back on and unlock it prompts voice command and shows my contact list.  Tried adjusting media sound and in-call volume too and it ends the app or ends my calls.
I'm not sure if the missing SIM card and the other problem are related or coincidence.  Or if the whole phone is a dud?  I'm very careful, no water damage, no dropping, but it can get beat up in my purse I suppose. I used to keep it in my back pocket until someone educated me about how bad that can be.
Any advice?  Specifically can I exchange phones???
    Thank you!
    Jen

    Hey,
I have a Droid 3 also, and have noticed the wallpaper thing.  I haven't found a cure for that one, but like you said, it is not the biggest problem.  As far as the Sim card, you can go into any Verizon Wireless store and they can replace the Sim card for you.  The only thing you need the Sim card for is for travelling overseas.  Now, this is not true for the Droid 4 or any of the other 4G phones.  The 4G requires the Sim card.  But try swapping it with a replacement from Verizon.  I do not think that is causing your other problems.  It sounds like some of the software may have become corrupt.  I would suggest backing up your data, contacts, etc and then wiping the phone back to factory settings and then reloading the Operating System software.  For more info on how to do this, go to this Verizon page at http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=44747
I have wiped my device before and it doesn't take that long to reload.  It was a lot faster than wiping my old Blackberry.  I think that will get you back up and running smoothly.  Let me know how things go.

  • My Droid Erased My SD Card

My Droid phone erased my entire SD card this evening. It was on the kitchen counter away from water, magnets, or anything else that I know aggravates this phone.
As background, I tried rebooting the phone three times and I took the SD card (and battery of course) out of the phone and reinstalled them. When the phone starts up it reads "preparing the SD card". Then, it reads "SD card is safe to remove". After that, it reads "blank SD card". After all of that I get a notification icon. When I open the notifications, it reads "Blank SD card. SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem." I cleared that and then went to the settings / SD card & phone storage. Total space is "unavailable", available space is "unavailable", and Mount SD card reads "mount SD card". When I click that it starts the whole process over again and I get the same result.
Can anybody help me as to why this happened and what I can do to prevent it from happening again?

Sounds like the sd card got corrupted somehow. I would suggest turning the phone off and taking the sd card out. Then with a card reader on a computer attempt to read the card. If you can read it, copy the contents of the card to a folder on your computer. When the copying is completed, format the sd card to a fat32 format. You can also run a error check on the card. Before or after the format shouldn't matter. Then when that's all done, copy the contents of the folder you stored the original sd card information back onto the card. Just to be on the safe side you can copy that information a couple of folders at a time.
If you can't read the sd card at first with a card reader, you will have to format the card. The only way to the information in that case is to recover the information using a recovery program.
    Hope that helps.

  • Iphoto-cell phone micro card "unreadable"

Samsung cell phone, micro S hc 4 gb, emtec micro S adapter, MacBook Pro, 10.7.5, IPhoto 9.4.2.
At import, "preparing for import," then list of files on card, then "unreadable files."
Photos on card JPG. Any suggestions? Thanks

Well on the 3 android phones I've had there is a setting to unmount the micro sd card before removing it from the phone. None of the phones I've had have been samsung but I don't see why they would be any different.
Did you reinsert the card in the phone and then connect the phone to one of the usb ports? And then select the option to use the phone as a mass storage device, that is an option on the phone. That should open up the sd card so you can read and write to it.
If I recall correctly I think I have read about a samsung program you install on your computer for transferring files. A google search should turn that up.
