DROID X : Signal Indicator

I've Notice on my Droid X up in Notification Bar that the signal indicator for the 3G an Wi-Fi  changes from White to Blue an sometimes back to White. And i wondering if any other X owners has seen this as well on there Droid X after the Ginger update. And i was kind of wondering what this means when it does this.  is blue better than white or white better than Blue.  or is this a hoom an scrach my head moment.

91 here but BW cant tell what it feels like...
Oh yeah missed the BOTB Ann, congrates...

i am trying to connect to my friend's wifi, i have a very strong signal indicated on my ipad, but cannot connect to the internet.  Yesterday i connected without any problem, can anybody tell me why i cannot connect today?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Hi can you please help me to fix my iPhone 5 when I update it to the iOS 6.1.2 my carrier signal indicator states searching all the time please help me what to do

HiHi can you please help me to fix my iPhone 5 when I update it to the iOS 6.1.2 my carrier signal indicator states searching all the time please help me what to do

    Hi Samantha,
Are you aware that if you restore your ipad that you will lose all data from your ipad and very difficult to get it back unless you had previously made a back-up of your data on itunes or in the cloud. and that would be on the computer you set those up on. (There are some independent apps out there that might help restore data but I don't have any experience with them...)
Also, I think if you restore on another computer you're supposed to have administrator rights and have the latest itunes update. And I think if you sync (if restoring is considered syncing with another computer, you'll be locked out of your computer or a new one.)
I don't know if there is a way for you to safely eject your ipad from your mom's laptop and find another way, but please read this
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275
Also, I suggest you start a new post and title it something like First, stuck on update and now on Restore on another computer. Please HELP! And then tell the story of your problem that you originally included and your follow-up efforts to restore given a suggestion on previous post (though I think you SHOULD AVOID RSTORE if you can.) And refer them to your original post
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22050045?ac_cid=tw123456#22050045
Hope this helps and if you can get back to your ios before the upgrade, stay with it. I hope it all works out for you.
FYI - If it's a new or refurb bought within the past year you might be able to have it replaced by Apple.

  • Problem using LV 8.0.x with Delcom USB Visual Signal Indicator

This could end up being more of a general question about USB and LabVIEW 8.0.x.  I have a USB Visual Signal Indicator from Delcom that doesn't function properly under either LV 8.0 or 8.0.1.  I've had to revert back to LV 7.1 where it works fine.
Please see the attached VI and dll.  This is the primary VI that doesn't work properly after the upgrade.  It should vary the intensity of the LED.  No error number is returned.  It just seems to ignore the command.  I contacted the vendor.  He says it must either be a problem with LabVIEW 8.0.x or the way I initialize the variables within the Call Library Function.
Have any of you noticed any problems with USB devices when transitioning from LV7.1 to LV8.0.x?

    Hello,
Great to hear that it's working, and those oversights happen to all of us sometimes.  I am not aware of utilities that actually monitor the USB bus data.  Windows handles USB access usually by recognizing the connected device, correlating it with a driver by scanning inf files while searching for matching vender and manufacturer ID (as well as other information I think - see the C:\Windows\INF directory for examples of INF files - they are ascii files so you can open them in notepad, but I DO NOT recommend modifying them; this directory may be invisible unless you have checked the folder options to show hidden OS files).  Now, the USB View program is catching that information when the device is plugged in, so it must be possible to silently monitor the USB port.  The only way I know to get data from it outside of using an existing driver (and without searching the web first) would be to basically write your own.  Now, it wouldn't be a full blown device driver since you could theoretically use the VISA driver development wizard to make VISA the driver for the device you would be plugging into the USB port (you specify vendor ID etc for the device in that wizard, and it writes an INF file and tells windows to go refresh it's knowledge of those files).  Then you could write a program in LabVIEW using the VISA API to simply read data from the port.  This process, however, would make VISA the driver for that device on your machine until you deleted the inf file from that Windows directory, and you want to be using the driver shipped with the device.  Also, even if you did get the raw data, unless you knew how the firmware on your device was interpreting that data, it would likely look quite random.  A better option might be to look for a function in your dll which will "passively" return that data to you in a readable format.  But, the function may not exist and we would still have the trouble of interpreting the data.
Probably best to stick to your manufacturer driver and troubleshoot at a level of abstraction above interpreting the raw usb transfer data.
    Best Regards,
    JLS

  • I just upgraded my iPhone4s to iOS7 and now I am unable to make phone calls and send/receive text messages. Network signal indicator on the upper left side of the display shows hollow circles instead of full circles. Any idea how to fix the problem?

I just upgraded my iPhone4s to iOS7 and now I am unable to make phone calls and send/receive text messaes. Network signal indicator on the upper left side of the display shows hollow circles instead of full circles (but with the network provider name). I checked with my colleagues in the office who use the same network and theirs work just fine on iOS7. Any idea how to fix the problem?

I have also called my service provider and my service remains active in the network. I tried removing and reinserting my SIM but to no avail.

  • Satellite signal indicator

    Hi, please help.
Everyone must know that satellite indicator located on the low right and side of the navigation screen, right? That little graphs with green and yellow bars, indicating the strength of the satellite reception signal.
Well I used to know it to, but not anymore.
After the OVImap update I did thought usb it’s gone.
The only thing I see now is the “no connection” sign and the 0,0KB, and that’s it.
Got my brand new X6 16MB home, updated the phone, and the only update OVI suite told me to do was on maps.
It erased all my maps on the phone, started to download new geometry and when it finished, I had no maps on the phone.
So I downloaded them handpicked. OK I have them now but the satellite signal indicator…gone, on holyday I presume.
Is it due to the AGPS turned off?  Or the positioning server deactivated?
    Well… can you help?
    Map Version 0.1.24.114
    Thanks.

Its not a problem.. If its removed from the latest version.. where is the question of solution...
If you want to know the satellite signal strength goto

  • Droid 2 signal issues

I would really like to switch from T-Mobile back to Big Red for the coverage and the network.  I have to have a physical keyboard, so the Droid 2 seems like the best option so far but the problem is that the reviews I've read about it say it has signal issues, and that's totally unacceptable.
    http://mobile.engadget.com/2010/08/23/verizon-pushes-out-first-droid-2-update-doesnt-cure-signal-woe/
I'm not about to pay a termination fee and sign a contract with Big Red (again, I might add) if I'm going to have the same signal issues as I do with T-Mobile...
Can I get a Verizon rep to answer if motorola is working on a software fix to the signal issue?  Is it even fixable with software?

I bought a Droid 2 yesterday and taking it to work today, I've had signal issues already. I have 1 and sometime no bars and other Verizon users have pretty good signal here. I'm really disappointed because the Droid 2 seemed like such a good phone from my research.  I called customer service and they had me do a Factory Data Reset but that didn't help.
The kicker is I just exchanged my Samsung Fascinate for this Droid 2 phone and the Fascinate had great signal strength everywhere.
Is there any proven resolution out there for the Droid 2 signal issue / reception issue?

  • Wireless signal indicator on WVC54GCA camera

Is there a way to add a Wireless Signal Quality indicator? That would help a lot during the physical install of the device.

That is not an option. The wireless reception quality of different devices is completely different. That is because different devices have different radios and different antennas. Also the way radios and antennas are incorporated in devices are usually different as well. You need to make the wireless signal strength measurement with the devices itself. It shouldn’t be too difficult to add such an indicator in the firmware of the camera.

  • How do I improve my Droid Maxx Signal Strength?

When I had a feature phone, there was a way to update the tower signal.  Is there something similar to improve signal strength on my Droid Maxx?

Updating the PRL on a 4G smartphone is handled by the SIM card and is usually handled automatically when you power off/power on the phone.  You also could try turning off the phone, removing the SIM card (be careful not to touch the gold contacts), wait a couple of minutes, then replace the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and allow it time to establish a fresh network connection.

  • Droid Charge Signal Strength after FP5 Update

I updated my Droid Charge this morning to FP5 and I noticed that I have half the signal bars that I used to.  When I had FP1 and I was home connected to my Network Extender I had 4-5 bars lit up, now with FP5 I only have 2 bars.  Anyone else see less bars after the update?

I've also seen this problem since I updated my phone last week.
In my office I always got 5 bars with the occasional 4 bar signal. Now I regularly get 2 bars there with a 3 bar signal once in a while. I checked with other people around me who have Verizon and they are still getting 4-5 bars while I'm standing directly next to them with 2.
I've noticed that when I'm outside in areas where 4+ bars were typical that I'll now get 1-2 and 1 is very common.
I even purchased a network extender for my home almost two months ago because the reception in my house was poor (typically 1-2 bars). That worked perfectly until I updated my phone. Now, I can be 5 feet away from the extender and my phone will suddenly drop to 1 bar for a little while. That never happened before the phone update.
I've also noticed that even when my phone says I have full bars on my network extender I have issues talking on the phone. The call doesn't drop, but the person can't hear me any longer and eventually calls back to try again. This is another problem that never happened while on the network extender prior to this phone update.
I have seen at least one issue where I got a voicemail without my phone ever ringing or reporting a missed call. That was a frequent occurrence at my house when I had poor reception before I got the network extender.
I have noticed that my data connection has been worse and that it at least seems that I'm more frequently in 3G where I would have typically been in 4G. I even had an issue the other day where the phone claimed it was in 4G but it would take several attempts to load any web pages. At that time I was standing next to someone with an IPhone and browsing freely on 3G to the same sites.
Now that my phone is often showing 1-2 bars I'm back to a situation where my battery drains more quickly - battery life was a major problem before I got my network extender. It seems that now the situation is flipped so at home the network extender seems to be working enough for that so the battery doesn't get killed, but when I leave the house I have to charge it midday to keep things running into the evening.
What can be done here? Is there any way to back out of this update?

  • Wifi indicator weak but signal excellent

My new iPad 4 is getting an "excellent" wifi signal, according to the Airport Utility and my actual perception, however, the wifi signal indicator is showing the weakest of signals...just a dot. My wife is sitting next to me with her iPad mini getting a full signal indication, while the utility shows her device as receiving only "good" signal from the AirPort Extreme. So, how do I get the indicator to give the correct visual rendering for an excellent signal?

After reading another, somewhat related, thread, I went to General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
My iPad rebooted, and now the wifi indicator is showing a full signal. I don't know what was wrong, but it's resolved now.

  • Droid Razr Maxx Multimedia messages

For the past couple of week, my droid razr maxx has started not to allow me to respond or send anything that is considered a multimedia message. At all. This is extremely frustrating. I'm a college student and often use this as a way to contact my parents, friends, and classmates. My phone is up to date and I have both Wifi and my data plan turned on. I can receive multimedia messages just fine; however, I cannot send or reply to them.
Can anyone help me? I haven't even had this phone for a year and this is just the latest problem I'm having. My sister and mom have this phone as well and they're having no problems whatsoever.

I know it's very important to have an operable device to communicate rcripps. Let's get to the bottom of this! Are you connected to the wifi connection while the wifi setting is on? When you attempt to respond or send do you notice the signal indicator connecting to 3G/4G for a few moments? Are you able to send/respond with wifi off and connected to the Verizon Wireless network? Try powering the device off and removing/inserting the sim here http://vz.to/19QSEGL test and share. Thank you.
