I am having trouble sending half a dozen photographs by eMail. I follow the procedure iPhoto > last import >select photos > share > email ... but the 'To' box on the email screen that appears will NOT take the address. The text box allows me to enter text but still the address box refuses my attempts to enter an address. I can do everything else on the screen (adjust photo size etc) except send the photos.
Much obliged to anyone who can advise where I might be going wrong.

It's still a mystery how it happened, but I believe it started with a mix-up on icloud in combination with IMAP gmail access and a second email account in Apple Mail (the second iMac with POP access and only one email account did not have any such problems):
- both of our accounts were using icloud.
- after addition of another iPad we suddenly lost access to our website (IP address blocked due to too many login attempts, which must have come from the email address related to the webserver, via Apple mail and icloud), equally we lost IMAP access to gmail (too many connections open)
- whilst testing/repairing these problems our icloud ID's got entangled (synchronising accidently with the wrong userID)
- disabling all icloud synchronisations (except for iphoto) and rebuilding the Apple contact vcards by download from gmail had cured most problems
- in that process some contact cards without first/last name were downloaded from gmail
- afterwards iphoto would blank out all email addresses, hence I also disabled icloud for photos
- on restart, iphoto declared the library as corrupted and attempted to rebuild it using the wrong computer userID (only photos belonging to a guest account were added)
- with option/command/click I rebuild the iphoto account without noticing any improvement
- hence I deleted in iphoto the gmail account and created a new one
- I restarted with option/cmd/click and rebuild the iphoto database
Now everything works fine again, but I can't tell which step cured the issue. Even email contacts without first/last name can be selected, and gmail IMAP addressbook and Apple contacts can be used simultaneously (with duplicate contacts in it).

Clone source will not accept a negative value

Hi,
I'm using PS CS5 and was trying to create a reflection using the clone stamp tool. However, the height box will not accept a negative value of -100% although the "maintain aspect ratio button" had been turned off. An error message pops up "A value between 1.0% and 400.0% is required. Closest value inserted". I had successfully created a reflection in CS4 previously but it won't work in CS5. Any suggestions, please?

In cs5 instead of entering negative values, use the
Flip horizontal and Flip vertical buttons just to the left
of the width and height.

Not only this but I can't drag from Itunes and place anywhere on my desktop or onto an external drive. Apple, why are you screwing around with basic functions!? I'm a dj and I need to be able to manage my music files without you ruining my life! FIX THIS!

Try the advice here. I had the same problem and it worked for me.
You have to delete the "SC Info" folder from /Users/Shared. You will have to use Terminal to enable you to see this folder first. Make sure iTunes is not running when you delete the "SC Info" folder
There is an article from Apple on this here. The "SC Info" folder contains iTunes authorization information.
I did this two weeks ago and iTunes accepted by login. I haven't been asked for my AppleID or password since.

Contacts book will not accept my Mail password

My contacts book will not accept my Mail passwords. I've deleted the prefs without it solving the problem. First I keep getting a pop-up that says it can't connect to my account and to put in the password. I do, over and over until I get an alert saying it's a CoreDaverror1. I don't know what to do. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Just so we're clear this is an iMAC issue not an ipad or iphone issue.
This all began when I received a message. My Mail account was set up as a POP account. When I opened a message from a cllient my screen "blipped" and suddenly I'm taken to my Mail preferences and my pop accounts were changed to IMAP accounts!! I saved my messages, deleted both accounts and used the Mail wizard. To my surprise I was not given the chance to choose a POP account again. All it did was automatically choose IMAP, I had no manual ability to change it.
After this, my contacts address book continually asks for my passwords and won't connect to whatever server it's trying to connect to.
Please note that I'm not a techie beyond a certain point.
I called Apple but they wouldn't answer my question unless I paid them $85! I called the Apple Store where I purchased my iMAC and I may have to bring it in for repair.
Believe me, I tried everything to get my Mail accounts back to POP. Even reinstalled my complete system. Didn't do a thing. And the system won't let me delete Mail and reinstall it, as it's part of the system.

Use iTunes on your computer. With the iPad connected, sign into your Apple account and check for updates.
Doing this should straighten out the problem.

Sorry to hear that you are having some issues when it comes to printing anything in green. I see that you have also attempted some steps in cleaning the printer. I am going to give you a document that gives great detail in troubleshooting Print quality / Defective printouts. This link has different documents that deal with print quality issues.
One other thing that could be affecting the Ink Delivery System is how you have the power cable connected. If you have it connected to a power bar/strip, please remove it and connect it directly to a wall outlet. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for all HP products in general. Please click the link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.

Will not accept assigned password to open

iMac all in one purchasedd August 2012. The assigned password is (no password requird). The power went off unexpectedly and now it will not accept this assigned password.
When the password is asked for you just click enter and the computer continues on and opens. This has worked for over a year and now it will not. Fred

Administrator password should not be blank.
OS X 10.7 Lion, 10.8 MountainLion & 10.9 Mavericks
Reset Password starting from Recovery HD
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click  in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.

System will not display the Purchase order item details in the first screen. First enter the data on the Item overview like Material or short text then only it will display the Item details.
I think you are checking with out entering the data on Item overview .
Check by entering the material/short text.

My mac mail will not search mail anymore and doesn't load attachments anymore

Does anyone know why this would be happening?
My mac mail will not search mail anymore and doesn't load attachments most of the time. When I enter some text in the search box no results come up and I know there are messages that contain the phrase that I've entered.
Also about 3 weeks ago attachments only get loaded about 1/4 of the way - if that. So I have to log onto my web based mail program from the host and retrieve attachements or check the messgae with my iphone.
Please - does anyone know how to fix this?

I figureed out that spotlight was turned off via terminal - I shut it off to unmount a disk (which didn't work anyways)
sudo mdutil -a -i on
that's the termianl command to turn spotlight back on. As far as my attachments not fully loading in mac mail on my iMac that still baffles me.
