Recently relocated from one home to another in the Villages, Fl and seems our cell phone get drop calls and people saying they can't hear us...if we go outside it doesn't seem to happen as often..I called Verizon and they recently told me to hit ### when this happens and I have been doing that..but yesterday they called to say I haven't hit ### enough times for them to follow up on this..most annoying when you are talking to people about your medicial coverage and in the middle of the call it goes dead!! why can't they just look into this problem??? I think it is tower related..some of the neighbor also have this problem with Verizon cell phones..i told them to start hitting ###...would like t

First question is why you even signed up for a company that has no service at your home, but that is another discussion I suppose.
You can get a network extender from Verizon, have you talked to Verizon about this? You will need home internet for that to work.

We have had Verizon Wireless service since 2007. We have 6 lines on our account. Unfortunately in 2012 when I (903.647.0073) upgraded from the iPhone4s to the iPhone 5 I started having reception problems. I started having dropped calls in my home. I had to go outside to get reception without dropped calls. I was told that because of metal in my home I would have to purchase a Network Extender for $250. And we HAVE not metal in our home. AND our other lines all work fine. I felt this was ridiculous. We already pay $350+/month for service and I should NOT have to purchase additional equipment for a service that I already pay for. The manager of our local store at the time gave us at no cost a Samsung Network Extender. It worked beautifully until about a month ago. I went to our local Verizon store and was told that I would have to purchase an extender. THIS is RIDICULOUS. We have been loyal customers for over 7 years and have been very satisfied with our service. Unless this issue can be resolved without purchasing an extender we will be switching our service as our lines come up for renewal. I regret this as we have been very happy with our service. But we should NOT have to purchase anything extra for one line that will not get good reception. Again, we pay $350+/ month for a service that does not work properly, simply RIDICULOUS! Currently the "sys" light flashes red (slow) and the GPS light remains red. Please help this very frustrated customer.

Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection.  You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.  Look for trends, see what computers or devices are doing what I attached a screen shot so you can see an example of mine.  You can purchase the router at 3gstore

  • My phone is dropping calls, doesn't ring all the time-goes directly to voice mail, do no recieve alert on when a text is recieved

1-My phone does not ring all the time upon recieving an incoming call, it goes directly to voice mail.
2- Not recieving alert tone upon recieving a text message.
    3- Dropping calls also

We have the same problem widespread in our company with iPhone 4's and 5's:
    - Fails to establish the call, dials but nothing happens
    - Drops the call for no reason even though signal strength is good
    - Recevie text alerts to notify of voicemail when the handset has not rung nor does it show missed calls
We migrated someone to a Samsung Galaxy S4 for a month and all these issues went away. Nothing to do with alert tones turned down or faulty silent switches.

  • Two iphones ring when one is called in our home

Someone was trying to contact me on my phone, instead of my phone just ringing... my wife's and mine both rang AND the call was connected on both phones.
    What?
Both phones are iOS 8.1.1... mine is a 6+ and hers is a 6.

Since you share the same Apple ID the continuity feature of iOS 8 rings both phones. To turn this off use the Settings app to turn off Cellular calls.
Settings > Facetime > iPhone Cellular Calls.  Turn this off.

  • My phone started dropping calls in my house about a month ago. How can I fix this?

My wife's 4 and my daughters 5C did the same. I called customer service and was essentially told "too bad, if it's in your house we can't really help that". My wife was able to call *228 and her phone now gets 3 bars which isn't good, but its better than not being able to use her phone. My daughter and I can't use *228. We have powered off and back on, removed SIM cards, what else can we do to actually get phone service on 2 of 3 phones in our own home? The phones also drop calls around the corner from our house so it's not just in our home. The phones all work well at school and our jobs.  We live in zip code 80525. Help please!

I was not given a ticket number when I called customer service. I was only told the same thing you typed....  "We are unable to guarantee indoor service due to multiple factors that can impact wireless signals with structural interference ranking high on the list; However, other customers are taking advantage of Network Extenders to improve indoor service". I am starting to feel like this is a ploy to get your customers to spend more money. Most reliable network and we have no coverage in a suburban neighborhood??? Hmmmmmm.
As I said in my original post it is not just dropping calls in our home. It is around the corner from our house and in several other areas of the neighborhood, almost clustered to the south end of our neighborhood with the worst being in our home. We have lived here almost a year and had no problems until a few weeks ago. None of our phones have difficulty with calls dropping anywhere else but our neighborhood. It also effects facetime and my wife being able to send picture messages on her iphone 4.
My brother in law has a Samsung Galaxy--on our plan--and came over last night. He said as soon as he gets in our neighborhood his phone varies greatly between 1x and 4G coverage and likes to drop calls.
The only solution proposed by customer service was to shell out $200.00 for a network extender. Again this is not JUST in our home, though it is worst in our home. This is obviously a recent network problem and should not incur a cost on our part to fix it, if we can't make a call until we leave the entire subdivision.
We will be asking people with other carriers to try their phones in our neighborhood. If they have better coverage, our family will be changing carriers. We have been loyal Verizon customers since 1999. Our loyalty ends when we shell out $300 + a month for phones we are unable to even use in our home or our neighborhood. Hoping for a real answer from customer service soon. This generic "we want you to be satisfied and have a great experience" response followed by "Spend more money with us to get coverage that you have had for a year but suddenly don't have" is unacceptable.

  • Why won't my Razr Maxx ring when called from my home phone or the other cell phone (I-phone) on my Verizon account?

Why won't my Razr Maxx ring when called from my home phone or the other cell phone (I-phone) on my Verizon account?

    Hi Ruth:
Thanks for reaching out to me about this issue.
This has been happening since I got the phone a couple of years ago.
I did not realize that my home land line and my wife's cell phone
always go straight to voice mail until my wife pointed it out to me
several months ago.  Is there a setting I can adjust?
Yes, I can make calls to our home land line and to her cell phone
without being diverted to voice mail.
Any advice you might have would be most welcome.
    Thanks.

  • Dropped Calls in close proximity to tower

    Hi.
I posted this as a response to a similar post, but I'm not sure who may see it, so I'm reposting here.  Sorry for the duplication.
I have been having dropped calls in my home chronically since moving to my new house four years ago.  Zip code 37917.  Close to downtown Knoxville, TN.  Here's a brief summary of what's happened so far.  The reason for this post is I recently came across an ad for repeaters and outdoor and indoor antennas linked to the repeater, and I'm wondering if they really work - especially when they cost $500 plus.
Brief history of my actions and suggestions from Verizon techs.
    1.  Initially bought and installed Samsung Range Extender in Aug 2008.  Been using it ever since.  Yes, I do have it set up correctly and have rebooted it multiple times over the years.
    2.  Changed phones frequently - even paid full price for a couple of phones.  Here's a list of the phones that I have tried - may not be a comprehensive list - but even friends of mine on Verizon have issues connecting and dropping calls in and around my neighorhood and in my home.
    Blackberry Pearl and Blackberry Curve
    Storm
    HTC Incredible
    Motorola Razr Maxx
    (There's probably others I can't remember)
    3.  Contacted Tech Support so many times that I have been offered (before I purchased the Razr Maxx this past spring) that since I am in a "known trouble area" that I can opt out of my contract with no penalty.
    4.  I also have been told to contact Verizon Corporate in Atlanta to see if they can "specifically let me know when these issues are going to be addressed in my area".
I even have a Tier III+ trouble ticket and received from Corporate their generic response of "you can sign up at the link below for the newest products and services".
    5.  I am, as the crow flies, less than two miles from the nearest Verizon cell tower.  I have been told that I am "too close" to the tower to receive consistent service.  Been told that the signal spreads out and I am actually underneath the signal.
I have  seriously considered leaving Verizon for another service (AT&T), but I have so much money invested in my phones, extender, accessories, etc., that I'm not sure it's worth switching, especially since I travel to rural areas and do get better service in those areas with Verizon than other carriers.
So back to my reason for posting this rant. Do outside antennas that link to an inside antenna and then to a repeater work?  And would it work in conjuction with my Samsung Range Extender?
(I will also include a summary of the explanation I provided to corporate last spring or summer and a summary of their response).
    Thanks!!
    Jeff
    RE: Report Service Issue (WFM90584784)
    Primary Subject: Network and Coverage
    Secondary Subject: Report Service Issue
Message Body: TIER III+ Problem. KNOWN TROUBLE AREA
Told by tech support that this email needs to be forwarded to CORPORATE.
Have had longstanding dropped call/service issue in our neighborhood and
have been told its a known trouble spot, even though we are very close to
    Verizon cell towers.
I have talked to numerous upper tier tech support/engineers over the last
three years with nothing resolved yet about dropped calls in my area, including
my home. I do have NETWORK EXTENDER.
I have been told I can get out of my service contract with no fee. I want to
avoid that, if possible, unless I can be reimbursed for all my equipment:
Network Extender, four smartphones including Samsung Charge that I paid full
price for, MiFI 4G LTE broadband, etc. unless they would all work with a
    different network.
I have been Verizon customer since mid 1990s.
What I need to know is SPECIFICALLY what is being done to fix this issue in
my area, if anything, and what TIME FRAME am I looking at to have the issue
resolved. Otherwise, I will have to switch carriers.
Everything is logged on my Tech Support Screen log. Please review that and
    respond to this.
    Thank you.

A - Yes, it is a Verizon tower about 1 1/2 miles as the crow flies.  I've been told there are other Verizon towers close by.
B - Housing is historic wood frame out (circ. 1890) that's been refurbished with blown foam insulation on exterior walls, dirt to highest point in the attic.
C - RF interference, I've had the problem ever since I moved here and have had different electronic devices in the home and have not explored that possibility completely.  But, I do get the Extender confirmation beep, and also have added another 4 hub router, with my main router being Apple Extreme with an additional Airport Express within the last year.
D - I also drop calls sitting on my front and back porch outside.  I am right next to Interstate 40, but actually below grade level of the traffic, so that's why I was wondering if I had a little more height if it would help.  Interestingly, when I am on I-40 right next to my house, the signal is strong and I don't drop calls - at least that I remember.
    Thanks again,
    Jeff

  • IPhone 5 Dropping Calls

I've been with Verizon for roughly 13 years now.  Through numerous phones, I've always had great service - reliable, good signal, MAYBE 2 dropped calls in all those years.  I recently exchanged my old flip phone for an iPhone 5.  For the most part, I'm greatly enjoying the phone.  Except . . . it's dropping calls like crazy.  In fact, a couple of days ago, it dropped 9 times in a single phone conversation (I was ready to just drive to my friend's house rather than continue.)  I haven't had any issues with internet, e-mail or anything else, just phone calls.  However, considering this is a phone, that's a HUGE issue and extremely frustrating.
When the call drops, I can call the person back right away, but again - frustrating!
Any suggestions (aside from switching back to a more traditional phone?  Which I am about ready to do.)

I have been having and my wife also. We both have an iphone 5, mine is the 32gb hers is the 16 gb. I have contacted tech service with no help. We've had verizon for aprox 10 years. We've had service at our home not the best but never had problems with dropped calls or cutting in and out till maybe 6 months ago. Our son has a iPhone 4S with no problems and our daughter has a droid bionic with no problems. We are getting very frustrated, we have few problems anywhere else but at home. We've even had problems Outside at home keep in mind we have had verizon for years without problems but now we can't continue to pay premium prices for substandard service. As for a verizon network extender I'll try one if it's provided by verizon but I will not buy one, it's not like we just moved to a new house we've lived here for 27 years and our phones worked here for years. Our zip code is 24210. I also work at 24202 and I also experience dropped calls there as never before with verizon. Verizon has problems and either not admitting it or they are blind. Just google verizon iphone 5 dropped calls you'll see Lots of people with similar problems.

  • Help!  my new HTC drops calls constantly...

I just got this phone a few weeks ago and it is constantly dropping calls at my home.  My previous old basic phone never dropped calls here.  I have updated the phone several times and it hasn't helped.  My husband got a G'ozone and it is doing the same thing.  I am thinking we should have gotten iphones instead of droids.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any suggestions?  Also, I am wondering if there is a time frame where you can return a new phone and get something else?

        Hi kiz,
I also have the Galaxy S3 and I have not experienced any issues with calls. I want you to have the same experience! As indicated by Ann154 (thank you!), the coverage in your area may have something to do with the quality of your calls. Please provide us with your ZIP code and we'll check the type of coverage in your area. We can also replace the SIM card to ensure that this issue is not SIM card related. If you have not requested a SIM card replacement yet, please follow me and send me a DM with your account number and I will follow up with you to order a SIM card replacement.

  • How do I get help resolving persistent dropped calls on my property?

Recently my service has degraded and my calls consistently drop when on my property. Who can help me resolve this problem?

I have called customer support before and they stated they would be sending someone to investigate, but never did, and never replied to my emails to understand why. I have always had dropped calls outside and inside my property. Lately it has gotten worse. I don't have issues in other locations.
If I don't get this resolved, I will end up switching providers to Sprint, which doesn't have connection problems at my location. My previous ticket number with your support was ticket# [removed]. I have an HTC OneM8, my zip code is 92653
Please take urgent action as this is a phone I use for business and the dropped calls from my home are unacceptable.

  • I have a 4s that keeps dropping calls

We bought 2 I phone 4S both at the same time and one seems to work and has been working fine.  But the other one constantly drops calls even while
sitting in the same spot at home.  We have brought it into Sprint and they have done updates on it but it still does it.  Any help you can give us please.

Basics from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
Also, please refrain from posting personal contact information in these public, user to user support forums, unless you just like spam.

  • Drop calls on landline phone

I'm receiving more and more instances of drop calls on my home phone--both cordless and land line phone. Why?
I was told that with fios this wouldn't happen.

Your calls should not be dropping like that. You can reset the ONT box by using the following steps...
Unplug the electrical power cord of your Battery Backup Unit (BBU) from the wall outlet.
Open the battery cabinet on the BBU (you may need a screwdriver to do this).
Disconnect the batter leads and wait 3 min. Reconnect the battery leads.
Put the battery cabinet back on and then plug the power cord back into the wall
This reboots the fiber optic terminal where all your services come in. If you are still having troubles, please send me a private message.

  • Agents in not ready state too long drops calls.

Using CRS 4.0(3) with agent desktop.
Issue is that when agents go to lunch they go into the not-ready state until they come back from lunch. Upon coming back from lunch, they proceed to go ready and then they start dropping calls as they come into the que.
If you log out completely and close the application when you leave for lunch versus going not ready for an extended period of time the issue does not appear when you log back in.
    Any ideas?

Update on this. I looked at the control center and saw that my server was in partial service. I verified the service was the JTAPI subsystem.
I ran the JTAPI update client tool from this link
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1846/products_tech_note09186a00801c8316.shtml
and saw the version of JTAPI between the CCM and the IPCC server were off. I updated both IPCC servers to the same version of call manager and will now hold to do some testing.

  • Iphone 4s drops calls in new house! help!

I just upgraded to a iphone 4s around easter 2012 after my iphone 4 had water damage, anyway I just moved to myrtle beach, SC and in my house my iphone drops my calls 95% of the time!! It is REALLY frustrating and there is NO apple store remotely close to this area. I havent had any issues of dropped calls outside my house. The annoying this is that my mom has a blackberry and she never had a dropped call. I did *228 to improve my signal and reset my phone multiple times. If I go to verizon they probably wont do anything. I have from 1-3 bars in my house at any time, does anyone have any suggestions?
I cannot cancel verizon because I just started my contract this past Easter 2012.
My only other option is to buy a samsung galaxy nexus 4g on craigslist and keep my iphone as a back up (i wont sell my iphone)

I have the very same issue on Iphone 5 IOS 7.1, original Apple earbuds. Sometimes Music starts, sometimes SIRI kick in, in any case the calls get dropped ! I disabled SIRI, I cannot find a way to disable music. Anyway, when scroling the oen applications, Music is not one of them !
It i making the phone unusable (it is supposed to be a business phone) - pure $700 TRASH.
