Drop connection between 2 sun server

Hi,
Has everyone seen this problem ? I have 3 server Sunfire V440 with Solaris 9 on each. 2 days ago, when I use
command telnet to create a connection (any services as 21, 25, 110, 80,.....) from server 1 to server 2 like:
#hostname
server1
#telnet server2 80
Trying server2...
Connected to server2.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection to server2 closed by foreign host.
This session drop in 30 second (any other ports is the same). So, for sure, i check this error again on server3, the command i did:
#hostname
server3
#telnet server2 80
Trying server2...
Connected to server2.
Escape character is '^]'.
But this session did not drop in 30 second, and the same result i got when connect any other ports. Any reason ?
Thank people

Hello,
I have a similar scenario to that you have described, in order to test;
BOE and BO Mobi deployed on the same machine, no proxy.  I am also using a BB simulator in order to test connecting.
I have installed the client s/w to the simulator device, but am unable to connect to BOE from the device.
Below is the info from each of the config files and device.
Can you tell me if there is a needed change?

  • Connection between  oracle 9i server and oracle 9i client

    hi there,
i have installed both oracle 9i server and oracle 9i client in my system.how can i connect these two to have connection between these server and client?
Because i was using only 9i server for creating database and for other purposes.i have not used 9i client yet.
    Please write me the answer.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Balu,
If you have the Oracle 9i Client, you can just edit your TNSNAMES.ora file of your client to have a TNS Entry for your new Database & try connecting it. You just need to try TNSPING & ensure that you can reach the Listener.
Are you facing any specific problems ?

  • Dial-up connection between Asterik SIP server and Cisco 5400

    Hi,
We have a setup for dial-up. The incoming call lands on Cisco 5400 and is forward to PGW using mgcp intergration. PGW sends it to Asterik SIP server over SIP. This Asterik Server sends it to another Cisco 5400 over SIP for Internet.
The issue is for some dial-up user, it works fine. But for some it doesn't. The problem is when we see the log on the last Cisco 5400, the incoming call tone is detected as FAX tone rather then Modem tone.
Any idea why is it so??

  • Severe drop connection (10-12 times a day) and slow internet

Hello, I am getting very frequent dropped connections (between 10-12 a day). My internet connection is very slowwwwwww. I cannot even stream a YouTube video without pausing it and waiting about 10 minutes for the video to completely load before playing it. Most websites take over 30 seconds to load and some won't load at all because it says that it timed out. I have tried using IE8 and Google Chrome and Firefox....the same result on all browsers. I am running a brand new Verizon GT701C modem and a brand new Belkin 926 router. I am hard wired into the Belkin. I bought a new modem and router because I thought maybe my equipment was too dated, but I am still having the same severe problems. I feel like I am on dial -up all over again. Thanks in advanced for any help.  Here is the system log report from my modem :

  • Connection from the web server to the database which is situated in another machine.

    Thanks for the reply.
I need to know, whether there shold be a physical connection between the web server and database machine? or can we connect to the database machine through the web, if the database machine has a domain name? if there is a physical connection, we can use the jdbc/odbc connection. but if we are connecting through the web, how can I estblish the connection using a JDBC/ ODBC connection?
    Regards,
    George

As long as there's a network connection between the two machines, you should be able to make the connection. I'm not sure what the difference between a 'direct connection' and a 'connection through the web' is-- are you actually running a network cable from one machine to another?
When you cannot make the connection, are you able to do a 'tnsping' on the target database?
When you say 'connecting through the web', is it possible that you're going through a firewall? If so, the firewall may be blocking the ports you need to communicate on.

  • CUCM starting connection with unknown media server.

    Hi.
Lets say you have a SIP server. A CUCM is connected to this SIP server via a SIP trunk. A call is established from the external sip server to the CUCM. The calling phone press "on hold " function(the phone registered in the external SIP server). The external SIP server, sends an INVITE to the CUCM asking to initiate an RTP stream with an external media server(so the CUCM phone can receive music on hold). The CUCM has no knowing of this external media server.
It's possible to tell the CUCM to accept this session with the external media server?
I think the external SIP server, who knows about the media server existence, should proxy the connection between the media server and the CUCM(like an CUCM MTP).
    SIP server---------------------------------------------------------------CUCM
                                      |
                                      |
                             Media server
    Thanks.

The phone on CUCM that is being put on hold will be asked to connect to this "media server" and in theory as long as the phone has ip connectivity to the "media server", this should work fine.

  • HSODBC connectivity between ORACLE 10g and SQL Server 2008 R2

    Hi,
I'm getting below error when using the DB link between Oracle (10.2.0.2 which is on Sun Sparc) and MS Sql server 2008 R2.

    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF
We have created DNS with TelemetryDB1.
I'm getting the above error for DB links between Oracle 10.2 and SQL Server 2008 R2. But the same, when configured for MS SQL server 2000 works fine without any issues.
Please advise me to rectify the error. We've been working for the last couple of weeks.
    Regards,
    Sunil

    Sunil,
You don't need an Oracle ODBC driver.
The way it works is that in the gateway init<sid>.ora file, in your case initTelemetryDB1.ora, the parameter HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO points to a system DSN. This DSN should then be configured to use an ODBC driver to connect to the non-Oracle database. So, in your setup when you want to access the SQL*Server 2008 database then the DSN should use an ODBC driver that can connect to a SQL*Server 2008 database. If you still use the initTelemetryDB1.ora file for the connection then the TelemetryDB1 DSN should be configured to access the SQL*Server 2008 database.
However, there are a couple of problems with your actual setup -
    - the configuration you have - 10.2 RDBMS on a Sun machine and HSODBC on Windows - is not supported. HSODBC should only be used from a RDBMS that is in the same ORACLE_HOME as HSODBC.
    - 10.2 HSODBC is now desupported and has been replaced by the 11g Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC) and the configuration you want is supported. That is because unlike HSODBC the DG4ODBC gateway can be installed standalone with a RDBMS being installed.
I recommend that you download and install 11.20.2 DG4ODBC on your Windows machine in a new Oracle_home and access that from the 10.2 RDBMS on Sun - which is a supported configuration. But to do this, you will need to apply either the 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 patchset to your RDBMS.
There is more information in the following note available on My Oracle Support (MOS) -
Note.1083703.1 Master Note for Oracle Gateway Products
The 11.2.0.2 DG4ODBC can be downloaded from MOS as patch and for the gateways on Windows 32-bit you just need to download -
    p10098816_112020_platform_4of6.zip
However, to check the HSODBC ou need to confirm that the DSN used by HSODBC points to a System DSN configured to access SQL*Server 2008.
    Have a look at -
Note 109730.1 How to setup generic connectivity (HSODBC) for Windows NT
But remember this is not a supported version or configuration and you should be using Dg4ODBC.

    Mike

  • AFP connections dropping on 10.8.5 Server

We are experiencing a very odd problem when AFP connections to our server are dropping part way through, which often then makes the client machine crash and force a hard reboot.
AFP logs on the server show nothing, but the /var/log/system.log events below show the disconnection as it happens.
Note I have installed the 10.8.5 Combo Updater, reinstalled the Server.app from the AppStore, experienced the same on various client machines, and seen the same problem.
We have plenty of disk space on both sides and the folder in question are about 40GB.
Disk Warrior on both ends has been used already, nothing interesting found.
Oddly enough connecting via SMB does not cause these problems.
Originally I thought it might be network related, but I tried connecting an Ethernet cable directly between client and server (bypassing the switch) and saw the same problem.
I can only surmise a recent OSX update (not sure if this problem is on the server end or client end) caused this problem.
    Here are the log details:

    Any ideas, suggestions appreciated!

Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Delete all sharepoints in the File Sharing tab of the Sharing preference pane. Recreate them one at a time and test each one.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, select the startup volume, and run Repair Disk (not  Repair Permissions.) If any problems are found, repeat. Then reboot as usual.
If any sharepoints are on a different volume, repair it too.
    Step 3
Boot the server in safe mode and test. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. After testing, reboot as usual and verify that you still have the problem.
    Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.ByteRangeLocking.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. Repeat with this line:
    /var/db/BRLM.db
    Reboot.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
Reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it.

  • Establishing a connection between a developer computer to an AD server

    Hi All,
I have a computer where my developers are writing code to establish a connection to the AD server.
Developer's computer and AD server are different domains. Is there a way out to establish the connection ?
Clue: I m not able to ping and lookup the AD domain.
Thank you for your support in advance.
    Regards, Prabhu

Developer's computer and AD server are different domains. Is there a way out to establish
    the connection ?
What do you mean exactly? Do you that developer computers can browse AD objects within the other domain? If yes, then simply create a trust relationship between both domains.
    More details here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc775736%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
Clue: I m not able to ping and lookup the AD domain.
For the Ping, you need to check that:
You do not have a firewall or a security software/equipment that is dropping ICMP traffic
You do not have routing problems
For the lookup, you can configure conditional forwarders between domains: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc754941.aspx
Also, you can use NSlookup for checks and troubleshooting: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/29184.nslookup-for-beginners.aspx

  • Difference between using app server connection pooling and using the driver

    Hi all,
How to get connection pooling with out application server and tomcat also?
What is the difference between using app server connection pooling and using the driver supported connection pooling?

maybe the performance of App server pool is better than the JDBC pool,
for you don't know wether the implementation of the JDBC interface is good or bad.
