Drop down boxes are empty but clicking in it still works, same with right clicking the mouose.

When I click on the File, Edit... buttons the drop down box appears and is empty. I can guess where something should be and click on it and I'll get a reaction but I don't always get it right. When I Right Click on the mouse to copy and paste I get the same thing.

There's a couple of slightly incompatible add-ons that can cause that, you need to troubleshoot to discover the cause.

Windows will scale applications display or windows will not scale application display depending on how the application is coded. Photoshop is coded in a way that its display is not scaled by windows. Photoshop knows about your displays high pixel count not its resolution so it uses its pixels however it does not scale its UI to make it usable on your display. Other application let Windows scale their display output.   For example Microsoft default for is Surface Pro 3, 216 ppi display is to scale applications display up 150% so the surface pro 3 display which has 2160x1440 pixels a 216 ppi resolution look like at display with the user is using with 1440x960 pixels. The Application works like the display is 1440x960 and Windows scale those pixels to the displays using the displays 2160x1440 pixels the effectively changing it resolution to 144ppi rather than the actual 216ppi.
The reg update and external manifest file effectively tells photoshop its working on such a size display display some number of pixel wide and some number photoshop uses that as the display size in turn Windows scale those pixels to use the displays 2160x1440 pixels efector lowing its 216ppi resolution. Photoshop CC 2014 2X UI would be like using windows 200% option applications would be shown the are working on a display 1080x720 instead of the Surface Pro 3 2160x1440. Note that 1080x720 does not meet PS requirement of 1024x768. Photoshop UI would not fit on the Surface Pro 3 display..
Since you have a 4k display if you have CC 2014 you can use its 2x UI effectively Photoshop will be running on a 1920x1080 display and have half the resolution of you 4K display 3840x2160 pixels four native pixels are use as a single pixel.   1920x1080 pixels exceed PS requirement.

Do those entries have a yellow star at the far right?
If they have then they are bookmarks. You can remove them if you open that link and click the star to open the Edit This Bookmark dialog and click the Remove button in that dialog.

Video control works only with right click

I published a podcast in my iweb website.
One of the videos has been published, but the play button works only by right clicking, instead of normal left click...
Other videos work well....
I Just tried to delete, rebuild and publish again the page, but nothing changed...
Does anybody know how to solve my issue?

Since you do not provide useful information so I can check it, I have to guess :
Is an image or object blocking the video? Or is the video below the bodylayer and in the footer area?
In a browser window, do Command-A to select everything on a page.
In iWeb do Command-Shift-L to see the outline of the page and it's object.
Study everything very carefully to see what's hiding.

1. The scrolling, as far as I've been able to determine, is by using the slide bar to the right of most diplays. There are no up or down arrows that allow slow movement
2. The top and botton toolbars are not visible. The top one appears when you point the arrow to the top of the screen but the same doesn't work well if at all pointing the cursor to the bottom.
3. When downloading, something jumps to the upper right of the screen. I could point and click it and get a diplay if my downloads. I was attempting to fix some of the above. Now the little thing jumps off the screen and I can't get to it.

Safari 4.1.3 quits at SSL(?) drop down boxes

Hi. I posted this in the Safari area, couldn't get a response, thought I'd try here.
I am maxed out at OSX 10.4.11 and safari 4.1.3 on an old G4.
Just yesterday Safari repeatedly malfunctioned when accessing secure (SSL?) site drop-down boxes while trying to pay utility bills online. The boxes drop down, the desired selection can be highlighted, but when the cursor is lifted, the change is NOT made, the beach ball spins, Safari quits. Every time. On several different sites. Data can be entered in the blank spaces, but using the drop-down boxes results in a stall, then quit.
These type of tasks were accomplished as recently as the day before. Other Safari functions (browsing, youtube etc) seem to work. Firefox works in all areas.
Any ideas?
Attached a grab, just in case I'm mis-identifying anything. I'm entirely unfamiliar with secure sites, other than using them. What I call a drop-down box are labeled "Any", "0", "no maximum" on the grab.
Now Safari is starting to occasionally quit elsewhere, including this slow-loading site.
Boot / Restart doesn't seem to help. Have done routine Repair Permissions on HD, seemingly not needed.
Tried Reset Safari. No change.
Also emptied InputManagers folder. No change.
Tried trashing any "com.apple.safari.xxx.plist." files I could find in any Library>Preferences. Original problem persists and Safari now running discernibly slower.
Would simply re-installing Safari help? If so, is there any uninstall needed, or other steps to take? Any secret hidden folders that need to be trashed?
Will bookmarks be retained with a simple re-install?

Nope, not a secure site in anyway, it works here, and after looking at what it uses I suspect maybe Java Script.

Web template - Drop Down Box options - Issue

Requirement: We need drop downboxes for Fiscal Period and Version in our web template. When the query is run, users will choose one fiscal period and one budget version (there are multiple budget versions - 1. Original Budget, 2. Revised Budget 3. Consensus)
After the query is run, users should be able to see data for any of the past 6 periods and any of the budget versions. So in the drop down list for fiscal period, he should see previous 6 periods and in the drop down for Budgets, they should see all the budget versions.
If the read mode is set to "Posted values", then only the values user chooses for the variables at run time will be shown. If the read mode is set to "Dimension table" it'll show all the available periods from the transactional data, which is unacceptable. We also tried the option "Can be changed during Query Navigation" but it will not work the version drop down box as it'll show all the available versions (actual, plan, forecast along with the different budgets)...
So, is there any other way of solving this issue? By any Javascript?
This is what I did for the Fiscal Period drop down, but then the solution is not complete.
For the Fiscal Period variable, I created a new variable and checked the option "Can be changed during Navigation". Then the drop down will be populated with all the possible values. This is how the Fiscal year/ Period combo will work. We'll have two variables. Fiscal year is fixed and we won't have a drop down box for it. So user can not change the year after the query is run. But he can see data for any of the 12 periods of the year he selected.
But there is a catch. This is not exactly what we are looking for. For example, if the user initially selects Year 2005 and period 10, then he can see all the previous 9 period of year 2005 (also periods 11 and 12). No problem there. But If the user initially selects year 2005 and Period 1, then he expects to see previous periods. But since year is fixed, when he selects period 12 from the drop down list, it'll show him period 12 of 2005 instead of 2004.
To avoid that problem, we can also put a drop down box for year, but that will become too complicated, as the all the possible years will show up in the drop down. Still trying to figure out a solution around it. Also same problem arises for Version. We only want to see two versions of the Budget. But it'll show them all the possible versions including forecast, actual etc.
Any insight is highly appreciated.

Either you need to save the template with a new name or do it under BIP.
It worked after for me.
That's why I only do my templates under BIP now.
I guess a new support package corrects this error.

How to handle Drop Down Box on Interactive Adobe Form

On my adobe form there are some drop down boxes like company code, cost centre etc, actually i need F4 help on those fields, but what i found is it's not possible to have F4 help on adobe form so i have choosen alternative as webdynpro acitvex drop down box in library. I have written a web dynpro application to fetch the data and display it on adobe interactive form, i could able to display the data for all the fields on adobe form except these drop down boxes, can any body suggest me how to handle these drop down boxes in webdynpro application. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

As you are using the WDP ActiveX dropdown in your form, it is fine but to populate values in the DD, you need to bind the context attribute with a simpletype and then populate the values. Use the below code to obtain a ModifiableSimple Type:

ISimpleTypeModifiable def = abcInfo.getModifiableSimpleType();
IModifiableSimpleValueSet abcValueSet = def.getSVServices().getModifiableSimpleValueSet();
and after this put te values in the obtained modifieable simple type like below:
abcValueSet.put(key,value);
where key may be the ID and value may be the name to be displayed in DD.

Drop down boxes in PDF files

Is there any possible way to open pdf forms and enter drop down boxes into pre existing forms? We fill out the same form constantly but some of the information varies only slightly and drop down boxes would make the process more efficient. Either that, or being able to load pdf files with a skeleton over them already would also work. If anybody knows how to do this, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Drop down boxes are called combo boxes in Acrobat. You can add them to PDFs if there are no security settings in place that restrict editing the document. Acrobat's help document has more information on adding form fields.

How to get th selected value of a Drop Down Box

i have a drop down box with two items. each item contains a text and a value.
i tried to get the actual value of a dropdown box but i get the value of the first item.
in the change event of a dropdown box i entered the following code:
app.alert(this.boundItem("text of an item"));
this messagebox shows everytime the value of fist item in my drop down box.
any idea?

Make sure you use xfa.event.change to get the correct value from the change event on the drop-down listbox
I have the following
xfa.host.messageBox("Data Value is " + this.boundItem(xfa.event.change));
on the change event (javascript) of a dropdown list box and it returns me the correct value

Drop-Down Boxes showing blank

I'm recording a software demonstration that includes
drop-down boxes, which I've done for years with Captivate, but I'm
encountering a strange issue I've never seen before. When I look at
the slide itself, everything looks fine, but when I preview the
demonstration, the drop down box appears blank (a white box) for a
second before he box appears. There is no background or image
anywhere in the system, that I can see, of the screen with a white
box where the drop-down box should go.
When I go to preview only that slide (F3), the blank drop
down box appears in the last 1/2 second of the slide, yet it is no
where in the library of graphics. What is going on here?
I've been able to "fix" the issue by adding the bitmap of the
background over the top of the last 1/2 second of the slide, but I
really don't want to have to do that for every demonstration I do
in the future that includes a drop-down box. Does anyone know if
there's a recording setting that might be doing this?

Thanks for the advice - I usually try and record more slides
that I need since its easy enough to delete the extras. I've never
encountered this problem before, though. If anything, I'm used to
it recording the white screen that appears in a transition from one
screen to another and I take precautions for that. I've never had a
white box appear prior to a menu opening, though, or had a slide
show "movement" in the background graphic itself. It wouldn't
matter how slow I recorded it - it would still record the last
fraction of a second. It did get the completely rendered image, it
just added a little "interlude" on its own.
I had no idea that captivate recorded layers on the graphics.
When looking at the slide, the white box only appears when I drag
the playhead across the slide, and then only for the last fraction
of the second. Is it possible to edit these in any way? Maybe
"crop" the end of the end that shows the white box?
