Drop down calendars inside sub form fields.

Good afternoon. My company recently purchased a license for Acrobat 9 Pro and it came with LiveCycle. So, I am trying to use it to create a form in which I need the date to be a drop down calendar. However, I have a huge subform field covering my pages so that I may place my fields where I want to in an easier fashion. But, when I use the date/time field inside the subform, the pop up calendar doesn't work, nor can I enter it manually. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Plz help!

  • Drop down in a PDF form

    Hi forum,
I'm usign a BADI in ABAP to fill a PDF form.Is there a way you can create a dynamic drop down list in  your form dynamically with values you read from the dictionary table?
    Thanks
    Zola

It's probably easiest to do the updates with JavaScript. If you define an array that contains the items in the list, you can quickly update list boxes and drop downs using the field.setItems method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.752.html

  • Dynamic drop down list in Adobe forms

I have created a drop down list using enumerated drop down list from webdynpro native tab and binded in the object palette by giving $record.sap-vhlist.DESCR\.DATA\.FIELD.item[]* in the list items dynamically.DESCR is the field in the internal table into which i fetched data from the database table .I have written this code in a BADI.I dont know whether my form's display type is activex or native? I am not getting any values in the drop down list.can anybody please tell me what might be missing and how should i know whether my form is ActiveX or Native?
My form is called from portal so i have used BADI to connect portal to form

    Hi sarang,
I have done a dynamic drop down list in which DESCR field comes from database table and pops into the drop down dynamically. I was working for a PCR scenario so the adobe form was called from portal.I will tell u all the required steps. It might work for u as it is working for me:
    1.In the form:
I used two elements from library first is a "ENUMERATED DROP DOWN LIST NO SELECT" from web-dynpro native tab and second is "ISR_TEXT DISPLAY INVISIBLE ON EDIT MODE" from ISR controls tab.Place them one on other inthe form.
For drop down list the setting are:
In object, field tab click on list items there in ITEMS put :$record.sap-vhlist.DESCR\.DATA\.FIELD.item[*].in ITEMS TEXT write text in ITEMS KEY write key.
In binding,in default binding put $record.DESCR.DATA[*].FIELD.
For text element the settings are:
         In binding,default binding put Normal.
when we select ISR_TEXT DISPLAY INVISIBLE ON EDIT MODE it automatically comes with calculated read only int he value tab.so open script editor and place the below code:
    $record.DESCR.DATA.FIELD (in calculate).
2.Now the code in BADI is as follows:
In BADI we have to write the code for drop down list in the METHOD "SCENARIO_SET_ADDITIONAL_VALUES"
As i didnt change the standard BADI i added an enhancement spot in which i wrote a function module which fills ADDITIONAL_DATA. and the below code fills the ADDITIONAL_DATA .
DATA: t_t572b TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF t572b WITH HEADER LINE,
t_t554t TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF t554t WITH HEADER LINE.
SELECT * FROM t572b INTO TABLE t_t572b WHERE sprsl EQ 'E'.
      CLEAR ls_additional_data-fieldindex.
      LOOP AT t_t572b.
        ADD 1 TO ls_additional_data-fieldindex.
        ls_additional_data-fieldname ='DESCR_KEY'.
        ls_additional_data-fieldvalue = t_t572b-descd.
        APPEND ls_additional_data TO additional_data.
        ls_additional_data-fieldname ='DESCR_LABEL'.
        ls_additional_data-fieldvalue = t_t572b-descr.
        APPEND ls_additional_data TO additional_data.
        CLEAR t_t572b.
      ENDLOOP.
For DESCR field the we have to declare  DESCR_KEY and DESCR_LABEL in the place holders for key values and palce holders for default values in characteristics tab(where all the fields for the form are defined) of ur respective scenario.(where ur pcr scenario is defined)
    Hope ur problem got resolved.
Please let me know if any doubts.
If ur form is not called from portal and u want a dynamic drop down list the difference is put a data drop down list and in object, field tab click on list items there in ITEMS select the field into which u populated the data from the database table (this code shud be written in code Initialization in the respective interface) and in ITEMS TEXT put $ in ITEMS KEY put $.and in binding as we normally do bind it to the respective field in which the data is populated from database table.
    It should work.

  • Acrobat 8 Professional - Drop Down Calendar

Is there a way to add a drop down calendar in Acrobat 8 Professional that will export the data in MM:DD:YYYY format?
I can add a form in LiveCycle Designer that is a drop down calendar but I can not seem to find this option in Acrobat.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Is there any way to add a drop down menu to select a date from a calendar in Acrobat without completely destroying the forms created in Acrobat? Plugins? LiveCycle?

  • Populate drop-down list from multiple text fields.

Just to begin, I am brand new to this application and brand new to coding in general. Anyways, this is what I am trying to accomplish. I need to populate a drop-down list from multiple text fields. I am able to populate one item using this in the calculate event:
    TextField1.rawValue
After I type text in TextField1 and hit enter, it displays the text in the drop-down list. I need to do this but with more than just one text field to populate more options for the drop-down list. I will also need to do something similar with populating a drop-down list from selections made in multiple other drop-down lists.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Thank you for your suggestion Geo Kaiser. With that, I was able to populate my drop-down lists, but now when I select an option from the drop-down list, the selection dissapears. The selection will appear briefly in the box but then dissapears although my drop-down list options remain there. Here is the code I am using for my text field to drop-down list:
    DropDownList1.clearItems()
    DropDownList1.addItem(TextField1)
    DropDownList1.addItem(TextField2)
And here is my code for my drop-down list to populate another drop-down list:
    DropDownList3.clearItems()
    DropDownList3.addItem(DropDownList1)
    DropDownList3.additem(DropDownList2)
Thanks again for your help. By the way, I am using Adobe Designer 7.0.

  • Populating Drop-down List in Interactive Forms for Java

    Hi,all
I need to populate a drop-down list in Interactive Form.
I tried to do it by using Dynamic Properties of the drop-down
list, but didn't give nothing. At the same time I have successfully
    populated a simple drop-down list(on webdynpro view),which I
    replaced near my InteractiveForm.
    What may be the problem?
    Regards,

Use the DDL from the Web Dynpro pallette. Bind the same/ similar attribute of the DDL you used in the web Dynpro view in the interactive form also... this should work..
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anto.

  • How to get prefilled drop down list in Adobe form from WebDynpro context

    Hi All,
We all know that we can have dropdown list in webdynpro which can be automatically populated by the context node collection.
How can we have the same functionality in Adobe form drop down list. I tried to bind the node attribute to drop down list in Adobe form but it shows me only first element. I am not able to see all the elements in the dropdown but if I am doing same thing for WebDynpro DropDown list I can see the complete List.
    Anybody with Solution?

    Hi Ricky
I have started a thread for this problem and got an answer for it already. Unfortunately I did not have the time to check it out yet; have a look over there:

  • Drop Down appearance for writeback column field

How to display drop down appearance for writeback column field(set of values in drop down for that field in the Report UI)? Currently Writeback feature in 10g provides only text Box for writeback field.

Not possible. Writeback is explicitely meant for specific updates and inserts and not for massive arbitrary record creation (official Oracle statement).

  • Form Guide - Populating a drop down with entries from another field(s)

    Greetings all!
Here is what I am trying to accomplish:
    1. Build a repeating panel that has a field for the entry of a Name. (I can do this)
    2. Build a drop down field on another panel that will be populated with the Name entries from one or more of the repeating panel Name fields in 1. above. I would like this to happen while the user is in the same render of the form guide.
    3. Setup:
         LC ES2
         Workbench 9.5
Would utilize Workspace to complete the form guide
Want to use a .fml data model
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Rick Kuhlmann

    pguerett,
Many thanks for that lca. I have been able to move forward with development of a POC Form Guide.
However, I have one other issue that if solved will push my POC to the point of demo status for the business.
    Here it is:
The business needs to be able to add the names of children to a Children Info panel on the form guide. - No problems with that.
Then they need to be able to go to another panel in the form guide and select a child name from a drop down to associate that child with the name of a father. - The previous post with the lca solved that.
Now what I need to do is to be able to take the selected child in the father panel and place that value into the data model.
Why? because the final part of this form guide is to populate a pdf form that is really a legal petition to the court. The child(ren) names form the Children Info panel are listed at the beginning of the petition. Then the selected child in the father panel is displayed in the father section.
So what I am looking to do is to populate that selected child in the father panel to a property in the data model.
However, based on the lca you sent it does not seem that when I add a Data Object to the Data Model in the Guide Builder that I am not able to push that data back into the original Data Model. I thought that using a Binding might work but I have struck out so far.
Clear as mud? Any help you or anyone else can provide would be wonderful.
    Thanks a ton!

  • Lookup field not rendering like drop down in New Item form

    Hi
I have been making a page to add new item to a list, for this i am using new item form.
I am having a two lookup fields in that list of which one contains more than 20 items and other only 3.
My first problem is that first lookup renders as a text box ONLY in IE 9 mode(nothing appears even when you click on the down arrow), but when I change the mode to IE 8, the rendering changes to a textbox + ajax + filtering list instead of the simple drop
    down list control.
BUT FIREFOX AND OTHER BROWSERS RENDER PROPERLY AS A SIMPLE DROPDOWN.
I have read several blogs about this, but could'nt find a simple solution.
Anyone has any idea on this?
    thanks!
IE rendered 1st lookup like this:

We had the same issue in our environment and we made use of jQuery to resolve the issue. The idea has been taken from SPServices.codeplex as mentioned by Christophe, but extends it in a way with few changes to make it work in our environment for each instance

  • Manipulating drop-down boxes for fillable forms in Adobe XI Pro

I'm creating a form with multiple drop-down boxes. Is there anyway to create a selection with multiple lines? For instance, for addresses? Can I center the text inside of the drop-down, or bold it? Can a drop down be split into multiple lines to flow along with paragraphs?
Also, can a fillable text form expand without disrupting the rest of the document?
Is there any program that will do any of this?

Is there anyway to create a selection with multiple lines? For instance, for addresses?
    - Yes, but only with a script and it's not a documented feature so sometimes it doesn't work well.
Can I center the text inside of the drop-down, or bold it?
    - No.
Can a drop down be split into multiple lines to flow along with paragraphs?
    - Not sure what you mean there... How is this different from the first question?
Also, can a fillable text form expand without disrupting the rest of the document?
    - No.
Is there any program that will do any of this?
    - The last one (expanding text fields) can be done if you create your form in LiveCycle Designer. The rest I'm not sure about.

  • How do I create a dependant drop down in a web form?

I am trying to add a web form to a web page that includes a dependant drop down menu. For example, I'd like there to be a drop down menu called "Interested Class" with three fields: "Tribe Fit", "Tribe Life" and "Tribe Core". When a user selects one of these fields ("Tribe Fit" for example), I want a new drop down menu to appear with the following choices: "7:00am", "12:30pm", "7:00pm".
I have attempted this here and as you can see it's not working at the moment. The time drop down fields should be hidden until an "Interested Class" has been selected.

I've placed my JS code in the HTML view of the actual web page as I noticed when I place it in the actual custom form it doesn't carry through to the page. I don't know if I'm placing my JS in the correct place though.

Can anyone please help explain to me how I can make this work? I am only a JS beginner - so please try to explain in simple terms if possible.
    Thank you!
    Nicole

This wont work, Needs to be a lot more then this and CSS to hide things rather then script hiding them.
Nicole, The times that are availible I gather differ depending on the type of the dropdown?
You do not need multiple time dropdowns.
Steps you need to do first on the form:
    1. Ensure the custom form field dropdown for interested class exists.
    2. Have custom dropdown with all the times that any of them can be. This is CSS hidden by default.
    3. Also CSS hide all the options in the select as well in your CSS.
Next can you show what classes have what times as an example then can put the code more relevent to your example you can work off.
The code will follow along the lines of....
    Dropdown On Change
If selected options is xxx class then
              fade in option times  dropdown
              Show these otpion times
if selected option is zzz class then
              fade in option times dropdown
                   show these times
More control as you need to work properly, only two dropdowns needed.
