Drop down in a PDF form

Hi forum,
I'm usign a BADI in ABAP to fill a PDF form.Is there a way you can create a dynamic drop down list in your form dynamically with values you read from the dictionary table?

It's probably easiest to do the updates with JavaScript. If you define an array that contains the items in the list, you can quickly update list boxes and drop downs using the field.setItems method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.752.html

Hi,all
I need to populate a drop-down list in Interactive Form.
I tried to do it by using Dynamic Properties of the drop-down
list,but didn't give nothing.At the same time I have successfully
populated a simple drop-down list(on webdynpro view),which I
replaced near my InteractiveForm.
What may be the problem?

Use the DDL from the Web Dynpro pallette. Bind the same/ similar attribute of the DDL you used in the web Dynpro view in the interactive form also... this should work..

Drop down values in Adobe Forms vanishes upon Check and Send in HRAS

The drop down values in Adobe Forms vanishes upon Check and Send while initiating the process.
I also get the error , u2018 The Entered Value is not on the List of Valid Valuesu2019 when I select the values again and try to SUBMIT.
We are in EHP4u2026 and I am seeing many Notes has been released to address these issues in EHP3 itself..

We applied the Note 1413209 and 1403266. The fix didnu2019t work.
I noticed the SAP Note 1403266 mentions a prerequisite Note 1346443 which is for SP4.
We are currently in SP5 and our system mentions Note 1346443 as u2018Cannot be Implemented. u2018
Please advise.

How to get prefilled drop down list in Adobe form from WebDynpro context

Hi All,
We all know that we can have dropdown list in webdynpro which can be automatically populated by the context node collection.
How can we have the same functionality in Adobe form drop down list. I tried to bind the node attribute to drop down list in Adobe form but it shows me only first element. I am not able to see all the elements in the dropdown but if I am doing same thing for WebDynpro DropDown list I can see the complete List.
Anybody with Solution?

Drop down menu within a form doesnt work.

I use an online database in which i need to upload pictures and answer questions all within a form. When i go to pick an option from a drop down menu within a form, the form doesn't go down and i cant make any choices. any way to fix this?

Drop down box in interactive form UI element in webdynpro

Hello All,
I want to get a drop down list in adobe interactive form. I did the following.
1. created a simple dictionary data type and populated it with values
2. created a context and bound it to the simple dictionary type.
3. when I drag the element to the pdf page, it shows it as a drop down list.
4. when I run the application also, the drop down list comes but the values are not populated. I am not able to use the dropdown also.
What should I be doing now to get a dropdownlist that works?

Hello Chander,
what you want to create is a drop down list populated by the Web Dynpro context values. When you use drag-and-drop it just creates a regular drop down list (where you need to specify the values in the Designer).
However if you select in your tools palette the Web Dynpro tab you will find special drop down lists. So here is what you do:
1. Drag and drop a Value Help Drop-down List element from the Web Dynpro Library tab to the Body Pages pane.
2. Drag and drop your node from the Data View tab onto it. This action binds the layout element to the corresponding node.

Creating a drop down list using acrobat forms

I'm working on a macintosh computer, sysem 10, acrobat 9.
I'm a financial printer and I'm making a prepress order form in a pdf file
I want to make a drop down list so that I can change print venders.
The information in the drop down list will contain my print venders critical information , for example:
Name of vender
primary contact: Names & phone number & fax number
email address, etc.
I haven't really worked with forms before. I was able to set up my text fields and check boxes OK.
But I can't seem to figure the combo boxes or list boxes so I can enter the information I just described.
Any help would be appreciated.

Drop down boxes in PDF files

Is there any possible way to open pdf forms and enter drop down boxes into pre existing forms? We fill out the same form constantly but some of the information varies only slightly and drop down boxes would make the process more efficient. Either that, or being able to load pdf files with a skeleton over them already would also work. If anybody knows how to do this, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Drop down boxes are called combo boxes in Acrobat. You can add them to PDFs if there are no security settings in place that restrict editing the document. Acrobat's help document has more information on adding form fields.

Drop-down list in interactive form go up and sounds weird

I've an interactive form in my view, display type is "native".
I've put a drop down list in the pdf and filled it with some elements taken from a bapi.
It looks like this

When I run the application I can see the list in my drop down but it goes "up"

Instead of having my list going down it goes up.
And when I click the arrow to open the list I've a weird BEEEEEP like an error.
At the end the list works well and if I choose an element it's well selected, but I would like to take of the BEEEP and to have the regular list going down.
Any ideas?

I think you problem can be traced to the place where you put your drop down.
As far as I understand your drop down funcions well.
Try to move it into another container or best put it under RoorContainer. Test it.

How do I create a dependant drop down in a web form?

I am trying to add a web form to a web page that includes a dependant drop down menu. For example, I'd like there to be a drop down menu called "Interested Class" with three fields: "Tribe Fit", "Tribe Life" and "Tribe Core". When a user selects one of these fields ("Tribe Fit" for example), I want a new drop down menu to appear with the following choices: "7:00am", "12:30pm", "7:00pm".
I have attempted this here and as you can see it's not working at the moment. The time drop down fields should be hidden until an "Interested Class" has been selected.

I've placed my JS code in the HTML view of the actual web page as I noticed when I place it in the actual custom form it doesn't carry through to the page. I don't know if I'm placing my JS in the correct place though.

This wont work, Needs to be a lot more then this and CSS to hide things rather then script hiding them.
Nicole, The times that are availible I gather differ depending on the type of the dropdown?
You do not need multiple time dropdowns.
Steps you need to do first on the form:
1. Ensure the custom form field dropdown for interested class exists.
2. Have custom dropdown with all the times that any of them can be. This is CSS hidden by default.
3. Also CSS hide all the options in the select as well in your CSS.
Next can you show what classes have what times as an example then can put the code more relevent to your example you can work off.
The code will follow along the lines of....
Dropdown On Change
          If selected options is xxx class then
          fade in option times dropdown
          Show these otpion times
        if selected option is zzz class then
          fade in option times dropdown
               show these times
More control as you need to work properly, only two dropdowns needed.

How do I edit a drop down list in a form just created?

I have created a form with several drop down lists. During the design process, I did not enter in data for the drop down, however cannot figure out how to edit that now. Please help!

I've created a fillable form in Adobe Professional and my text boxes are prefilling...I did a few tests and it promts me to use the language used in my testing. I do not want the text boxes to show prefilled options. I checked Options tab and it does not have any values. I am not sure why it's prefilling and how to remove it. Any suggestions?

Drop-Down List Box on Form Is Cleared at Each Step in a Workflow Process

Hello users,
I am posting this in the Workflow Designer, Workflow Server and Form Designer forums so that it gets a little more exposure, so I apologize if you receive this more than once.
I have a Form Designer 5.0 form attached to a Workflow Server 6.1 process. On the form, I have a drop-down list box being populated from a text box by the OnDataLoad event on the form ONLY when the process is first initiated. The text box is populated by the OnAssign event of the first step in the process map. When the task initiator submits the form to the second step in the process and the user opens the form, the drop-down list box is no longer populated - it has been cleared. There is no code anywhere in either the form or in the process map that clears this field.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Is it a bug?

Unless you hard coded the list box on design time, it will lose all data when the form is routed.
Only solution to this is:
create a text box and store your list box choice list to the text box before submitting your form and import the list box choice list back from the text box on form ready.

Fill Drop down list in Interactive form

Hello.
I am trying to display multiple values form the context of an form, so not web dynpro! I am using a valuelist object for that.
When I test the form I am only getting to see the first value of my internal table and the drop down list cannot be expanded.
If I analyse the XML I see that the items are there which I want to display.
What is the cause of this, or is this only possible with Interactive form in an Web dynpro scenario (I hope not)

As per this post, I understand that you are going to use a simple ADOBE PRINT FORM which fetches data from ECC and displays it in the form...Am I right?
See, if it is going to be a Simple PRINT FORM which is NON-INTERACTIVE in nature, I dont see the need of DROP DOWN LIST in this scenario. I think that could be the reason why always the first item of the INTERNAL TABLE is displayed all the time.
If you have an INTERACTIVE SCENARIO where the user can select an option from the drop-down, then you can go with ABAP WD/JAVA WD/ISR Adobe Interactive Forms.

let me know the logic for it...

i populated the value in drop down.
Its working fine but the problem is how to fill the default value in drop down. because i want to bind the default value which im getting specify value from the table.because each row
im getting different values, like first row
CAR
, that CAR want to fill as a default value in drop down and second row as
BIKE
that BIKE want to fill as default value in drop down ( example drop down contain   car , bike , cycle).
In adobe form i binded like this

i dont know whether this one is correct or wrong .
im getting default value as empty.
please give me some solution how to do this.its very urgent
