Drop down in allready displaying table in web dynpro

Hi Experts,
We have  a requirement where we are displaying the data of the table KNA1 in a table form (Web dynpro) which is editable.for the field NAME1 there must be drop down box which contain some values , so that for any row user can select one of the value and then when press SAVE button the table KNA1 should be updated with the new value of NAME1.
Can you please let us know how to do this.
Thanks
Mahesh

Which part of what you describe and what exactly are you having problems with.  You can of course change the cell editor of your column to DDLB.  Is that where you are having problems.  Or are you trying to decied between DDLBByKey and DDLBByIndex.  For that I would suggest you read the following:

  • Populate Values for Drop Down by Index in Table in Web Dynpro Java

    Hi Experts,
    I have a table and having a column table cell editor as Drop Down by Index.
    I have created the table node (tbnode) and child node for DDBI (ddbinode) and set the singleton property for DDBI node to false.
    I have same local variable node as same as above node and the values are available.
    I have one button ADD.On click the add button i need to populate the values to table node and as well as DDBI Node.
    I created supply function for DDBI node and populate the values for DDBI Node.
    Add Method:
    IPrivateMdTest8CompView.ItbnodeElement tbnode = wdContext.nodetbnode().createtbnodeElement();
    tbnode.setDescription(wdContext.currentCn_LocalVariableElement().getDescription);
    wdContext.nodetbnode().addElement(tbnode);
    Supply Function Method:
    for(int j=0;j<wdContext.nodetbnode().size();j++)
    wdContext.nodeddbinode().setLeadSelection(j);
    IPrivateMdTest8CompView.IddbinodeElement ddbinode = wdContext.nodeddbinode().createddbinodeElement();
    ddbinode.setddvalue(wdContext.currentCn_localddvalueElement().getddvalue);
    wdContext.nodeddbinode().addElement(ddbinode);
    Problem is one i got the values in the drop down and i click the second row in table again the supply function calls and reset the first row drop down to original value.
    If you any problem like please provide the solution.
    Thanks & Regards,
    SatheshKumar R

    If you created the supply method by setting the supply property of the node, you should have variable 'node' available as argument of the supply method, which will be related to the table row of the triggered dropdown. Opening the dropdown does not change the lead selection of the parent node, so
    ddbinode = wdContext.nodeddbinode().createddbinodeElement();
    wdContext.nodeddbinode().addElement(ddbinode);
    does always relate to the first row of the table (given that leadSelection == 0). With the node variable you can
    IddbinodeElement ddbiElement = node.createddbinodeElement();
    node.addElement(ddbiElement);

  • Drop Down List in a table - different options for each row

    How can i have a drop down list in a table with different options for each row?
    My requirement is this.. I want to display, say employee dtails in a table, and one column is employee hobbies, whcih can have multiple values and each employee may have a different list of hobbies. So how can we populate the drop down for each row, with different options?

    Hey. Uh, this probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but it sounds like you've got a problem with your database design there. Generally speaking, your tables shouldn't have multi-valued fields, in the relational model anyway (sql). Instead, you should look at adding a separate table like EMPLOYEE_HOBBIES. Then you have a foreign key using the employees primary key as the foreign key in the employee_hobbies table, see what I mean? I might have misunderstood your explanation though, I'm not sure.
    Alternatively, you could just have hobbies as a big freeform varchar field, and don't bother to make people separate their hobbies into different fields (you'd have to abandon the drop-down listbox idea in this case). If there's no really important reason to make the distinction, then it's probably easier just to not do it.

  • Display data in Web DynPro table from database via EJB

    I have a JavaBeans model which has a method populateDataToTable()to retrieve data from database via Session bean (calling entity bean, returning ArrayList of data) and the data needed to be display in the Web DynPro table.
    User Interface (Web DynPro) <-> JavaBeans Model <-> Busineess Logic (session bean) <-> Persistence (Entity Bean)<-> DB table.
    The context bindiing and table part is ok. How do i load the data to the table ? what the coding to put in wdDoInit() ?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    in wdinit(),

    col = local.getDataViaSessionBean(param);
    // if your returned result also a bean class, reassigned it to current MyCommandBean

In my web dynpro project when i am accessing this table columnname it works fine, but its not allowing to insert the data.It is giving following error:
    The SQL statement "INSERT INTO "TMP_2" ("NAME") VALUES ( "ASDFGH") " contains the semantics error[s]: - 1:36 - the column >>ASDFGH<< is undefined in the current scope  where NAME is my column name.
    Also when i change some column name or add one more column to my table and then deploy it. After this, when i run my web dynpro project it doesn't show the updated column name and column count.
    Please help.

  • How to create the Dynamic UI element table in web dynpro in abap

    Hi All,
    Does anybody have reference note or teach me how to create dynamic UI element table in web dynpro in abap ?
    Regards,
    Luke

    HI LukeWong ,
    for creating any UI dynamically you shoul use their runtime class that always start with cl_wd_* ui element name*
    so for the Table UI element the runtime class is CL_WD_TABLE
    now reffer the below code for creating the Table UI dynamically
    METHOD wddomodifyview.
    DATA lr_table TYPE REF TO cl_wd_table.
    DATA lr_flow_data TYPE REF TO cl_wd_flow_data.
    DATA lr_container TYPE REF TO cl_wd_uielement_container.
    DATA lr_column_name TYPE REF TO cl_wd_table_column.
    DATA lr_text_view TYPE REF TO cl_wd_text_view.
    DATA lr_table_header TYPE REF TO cl_wd_caption.
    DATA lr_column_name_header TYPE REF TO cl_wd_caption.
    IF first_time EQ abap_true.
    lr_container ?= view->get_element( 'ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER' ).
    lr_table = cl_wd_table=>new_table(
    id = 'TBL_TABLE'
    bind_data_source = 'TABLE'
    design = cl_wd_table=>e_design-alternating
    visible_row_count = 3
    lr_flow_data = cl_wd_flow_data=>new_flow_data( element =
    lr_table ).
    lr_container->add_child( lr_table ).
    lr_column_name = cl_wd_table_column=>new_table_column(
    id = 'TBL_EXAMPLE_NAME'
    lr_table_header ?= cl_wd_caption=>new_caption( text = 'Table UI elem
    ent - example').
    lr_table->add_column( the_column = lr_column_name ).
    lr_table->set_header( lr_table_header ).
    lr_text_view = cl_wd_text_view=>new_text_view(
    id = 'TXV_NAME'
    bind_text = 'TABLE.NAME'
    lr_column_name_header ?= cl_wd_caption=>new_caption( text = 'Name').
    lr_column_name->set_table_cell_editor( the_table_cell_editor = lr_text_view).
    lr_column_name->set_header( lr_column_name_header ).
    ENDIF.
    ENDMETHOD.

  • Binding arraylist, list, or multi-dimensional array to table in web dynpro

    Greetings,
    I like to ask if anyone knows how to bind data from an arraylist, list, or multi-dimensional array list to a table in web dynpro, your help is much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cory

    Is there a way to create or cast a multi-dimensional
    array from a Collection or Vector ?
    ArrayList list = new ArrayList();
    list.add( new Object[4] );
    Object[] array2 = list.toArray(); // is only
    single dimension !
    Of course it is a single dimension array.
    Check the definition of the toArray() function, and the specification of arrays in general.
    toArray() returns a one dimensional array.
    In your case it will return an array of arrays. So array2[0] will be an array of 4 objects.
    That just happens to be a 2 dimensional array though you may (I haven't checked it) need some parentheses to call the elements.
    Try Object o = array2[0][1]; and if that doesn't work Object o = (array2[0])[1];

  • Declare global table in web dynpro

    Hi,
    How can I declare a global table in web dynpro?

    Hi,
    If you want to declare an global internal table,
    You can declare it in componentcontroller's 'ATTRIBUTES'  Tab,
    This internal table you can access in componentcontroller's method using 'wd_this' reference.
    for example: "wd_this->itab".
    If you want to access the same in any view's methods then you can do it using 'ig_componentcontroller' reference.
    for example: "ig_componentcontroller->itab".

  • Update cluster table from Web dynpro

    Hi
    I am trying to export data to a cluster table from web dynpro using this statement:
    EXPORT zhr_sanct_st100 FROM zhr_sanct_st100 TO DATABASE zhr_clrm(ep) ID zhr_clrm-srtfd.
    same piece of code work well if I include it in a report program through se38, but If I use it in Web dynpro, it doesnt update the cluster table and there is no error shown.
    please reply ASAP.
    Vishal kapoor

    Thanks for your immediate reply. it worked this way:
    IMPORT structure name TO structure name
      FROM DATABASE cluster table name
      TO wa_zhr_clrm
      ID zhr_clrm-srtfd.
    initially i missed to insert a work area wa_zhr_clrm, which has all the key fields of the cluster table.

  • Dynamic Drop-Down list in a table row or subform

    Hi,
    I need to display multiple drop-down list elements dynamically. Each of these DDLs will have different values.
    For example:
    The table will have 2 columns (Student Name text field and Courses drop-down)
    Row 1: Student 1 & Courses of Student1 in DDL
    Row 2: Student 2 & Courses of Student2 in DDL
    When I execute my app, both the drop-downs (i.e. for both the students) are displaying all the courses of all the students. I tried a lot with binding options..
    $record.Students[].Courses[]
    is refering to all elements of the node. If I use the index 0 for Students node, I am getting 1st element rows.. if I use 1, I am getting 2nd element rows,,,
    But How can I set the binding so that Row 1 has only Student 1 courses and Row 2 has Student 2 courses?
    IS THERE A WAY TO DYNAMICALLY SET THE BINDING USING JAVASCRIPT?
    I tried with tables, subforms.. it is not working. It is working fine in plain web dynpro table but not in an interactive form. I am using NW 2004s SP11, Web Dynpro Java. LiveCycle Designer 7.1, Adobe Reader 7.09.
    There are some other posts talking about similar issue.. I tried the solutions mentioned there as well, but nothing worked.
    I would really appreciate if any one can provide a solution or pointer to my problem.
    Thanks
    Ram

    Reema,

  • Using the values from a drop down list to display in a separate cell

    Hi all,
    I must apologise if I don;t use the right 'terminology' as I am just an ordinary guy who uses a mac. I am also deaf which means I am totally dependant on the internet for fixing solutions.
    Basically, I wanted to create a drop down list which I had no problem doing.
    In the drop down, I have the options One-Piece, Two-Piece and Three-Quarter.
    I would like to get it so that when I select the One-Piece, the value of 160 appears in a separate cell. If I select Two-Piece, then I would need 130 to appear in that separate cell. Likewise, Three-Quarter to produce 150.
    Just to clarify, if we had a two-column and one row table, then the drop-down would be in A1, which the values would appear in B1.
    I do not know the formula, and cannot find any instructions anywhere as I am probably using the wrong terminology or function name!
    Any help would be much, much appreciated..
    Carl

    I don't guess what I may add.
    The contents of the table named lookup appear on the screenshot.
    cell A1 contains the string One-Piece, cell B1 contains the 'associated' value 160.
    cell A2 contains the string Two-Piece, cell B2 contains the 'associated' value 130.
    cell A3 contains the string Three-Quarter, cell B3 contains the 'associated' value 150.
    Now table Main
    In column B the cells contain a pop_up menu with four items like the ones described by Jerrold.
    In column C of the cells contain the formula :
    =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(B,Tableau 2 :: A:B,2,FALSE),"")
    I enhanced it since yesterdays because I forgot to treat the case when cell is blank in column B.
    I apologize but as I'm using my machine in French, the screenshot display the French formulas.
    I repeat that you may find useful infos in the PDFs files which we may download from the menus:
    Help > Numbers User Guide
    Help > iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide
    As you are in Stoke-on-Trent maybe your system is set to use the comma as decimal separator.
    If it's that, you must replace the comma by semi-colons in the formulas (you may see them in my screenshot).

  • How do I get spry drop down menus to display infront of my content?

    Hi,
    I am currently using DW CS4 to create a website for a uni project. I have created a Spry Menu bar which displays correctly when I preview it however I have uploaded a few pages to my site to test them and the drop down menus disappear behind my content. Is there any way I can fix this?
    My web address is www.nataliemiddlemore.110mb.com if you want to have a look. There is currently only 3 pages uploaded.
    Also the drop down menus do accross the page horizontally rather than drop down underneath each other. Is there a way to fix this?
    I would be very grateful for any help and am only a beginner so keep it as simple as possible for me.
    Thankyou in advance.

    You have used Absolutely Positioned Divs for your primary content. AP Divs are (by definition) taken out of the normal flow of the page. When they are in the code after the menus, they might show in front of them. I did not experience that on my system, however.
    I don't see any overriding reason...beyond the thought that AP Divs are easy to make and place...for using AP Divs. Your page structure is very stable, and normal relatively-positioned Divs should work just fine.
    As to the drop down menus trailing horizontally across the page, control the width of this: ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul to contain the left-floating list items. That style selector shows up in the SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css stylesheet. The submenus should then fall vertically.

  • How to grab the value from a drop down list inside a table cell

    Hello,
    My situation is I have a few columns displayed in a table format using repeater tag. Some cells is a dropdown list(<netui:select /> tag). My question is how can I grab the value when user made a selection.
    I believe I can get the row index but I can't use the datasource attribute to get the user selection since it is in a repeater. All the cell use the same datasource and workshop will give "NULL" value when there are more than one tag bind to the same form valiable.
    Any suggestion are very much appreciated! Thanks a lot in advance.
