Drop-down list in one subform controls fields in other subform

I am new to adobe livecycle. I haven't been spending time on creating a quite complex pdf fillable form. It seems I rely heavily on this forum to find my answer. You guys have been great. Thank you.
I have a question on form and subform:
I have a parent form which has subform1 and subform2. Within subform1, I have subform1a and subform1b. Same as subform2 with subform2a and subform2b.
Parent form has a button called "Add". As I click on 'Add', there is a new instance of subform1 added.
within subform1a, there is a drop-down1a. Depend on the value selected for drop-down1a, certain fields in subform1b are visible. Also, depend on the value selected for drop-down1a, button 'Add' can be visible or hidden.
I find out that the above could only be accomplished if all the button and fields are in the same form.
For instances, drop-down1a can't make button 'Add' visible or hidden because they are not in the same form.
Drop-down1a can't make fields in subform1b visible or hidden unless subform1b is nested inside subform1a.
Also, as I repeat subform, is there a way to control what fields in repeating subform be visible or hidden based on a certain selection?
The last question: Is there a way to get a list of existing scripts that come with adobe livecycle and what they are useful for?
I want to upload my form so that you can see but I can't find a way to do so.

On the subform issue, there isnt any restriction on where you can add/hide objects from. It sounds like a scripting visibility issue where your hierarchy needs to be taken into account when you try and access an object through script. The objects are encapsulated inside a subform and are only visible if they are a child or on the same level as the current context. Outside that, you need to provide the correct path to an object, for example subform1a.dropdown1a would be visible to subform1b and so on.
There are samples in the installed folder of designer under EN sub-directory and a few people have websites than do samples here. You can probably create a free account on Acrobat.com and publish forms there for people to see via link.

I've had a look at the sample script you posted. I'm not sure how to make it work with the form I'm creating. (I sent it to you earlier.) Would you mind setting one of the fields up on my form so that I can get an idea of how to then push the choices set up on the "visible on screen only" to the textfields which are locked on the visible page? Do i lock the fields in the same way?
Will I need to create a new script for each of the arrays I'll be creating? for example, myScript1, myScript2, my Script3....

How can I use two drop down lists for one time value?

I want to enter the length of time that someone does an activity in hours and minutes using two drop down lists, then enter them as a single time value (H:i:s) in Mysql.
I've used the basic drop down lists, and a few different variations of the following with no success (seconds is a hidden field with a value of "00"):
GetSQLValueString(strftime('%H:%i:%s', strtotime($_POST["sleeptimemin"]." ".$_POST["sleeptimehr"]." ".$_POST["seconds"])), "date"),
This returns 00:00:16, no matter what is selected on the drop down list.
Any help would be appreciated.

MySQL stores times in human-understandable format, using the 24-hour clock.

How to modify drop down list values of a screen field in UDM_DISPUTE?

At what time do you want to modify the drop down list, while creating or after creating the dispute case. There are some BADI's where we can change the attribute drop down list values.

Drop down list of values for a field in ALV rpt within a BADI

I need help on this issue.
TCODE LI21 is used to clear the differences in IM. The business now wants to prompt for a reason code before they can post a new material document for this clearing. I have create an implementation in BADI LE_WM_INV_WM_IM, which display the field for user to enter the reason code. However, I am trying to get a dropdown list which contain the possible values for reason code so the user can choose from this list. There are sample codes to do this but I can't apply to the codes in the implementation because call screen is not allowed. Has anyone done this before or can advise me of the solution?

Drop down lists populating text fields on a page different from the dropdown.

Hello all,
I have a form with several pages. The first page contains a number of drop down lists. These drop down lists, when an option is chosen, is to populate a text field on another page. I can get the drop down list to populate the text field when it is on the same page, but as soon as I move the text field to another page, the script doesn't work. Can anyone offer a solution? I've used javascript on change for the scripts.

I have been able to solve the drop down list question, thanks to your help.
I have another question that involves locking specific fields in a four page form which contains approximately 100 fields that need to be locked before the end user completes the remaining fields. How do I lock individual subforms so that the remaining fields remain open and editable? The final version of the form, will have at least 200 fields in it that will also need to be locked in sections.
I can lock all the fields using the lock all fields button, but have been unable to make it work for just part of the form.
I've emailed the draft form. It would be really helpful if I had one example of a locked subform on the form I'm struggling with.

Changing the size of a drop down list

Hi Everyone,
Is there anyway to change the size of a drop down list? For example, our customer would like to make the drop down list for the Ship-To field on the logistics tab of the sales orders longer. Currently, they cannot see the full name when they scroll through it. Is this possible? Depending on what Customer Code they enter, the field size appears to change.

I am using Tahoma size 10 as well.
Is the drop down size somehow related to the size of the first few records? So, if those are shorter than those at the end, perhaps it doesn't adjust for the size of the bottom records. For example, in our customer's database here's a sampling of what they have entered and the order:
Wal-Mart 6124
Wal-Mart 6125
Wal-Mart 6126
Wal-Mart 7001
Wal-Mart Supercenter 1111
Wal-Mart Supercenter 2094
Wal-Mart Supercenter 3475
The drop down box is large enough to see the Wal-Mart 6124, etc. but not large enough to see the Wal-Mart Supercenter ones at the bottom of the list (keep in mind there are over 100 ship-to's for this Business Parnter). Does it maybe only look at the first fifty records or something like that?

JS Validation for Drop down List is not working in Oracle PL/SQL Package

I am facing an issue with JavaScript validation done in Oracle PL SQL package.
System Requirement:
There is one screen which contains two fields viz. FLD 1 & FLD 2 and one 'Submit' button.
FLD 1 and FLD 2 fields are drop down list boxes.These are mandatory fields.
The screen is developed in Oracle Mod PL SQL package.
The html coding and java scripting are embedded in the respective Oracle PL SQL Package procedure which generates this screen,takes the input values provided by user,does the
field validations and submits the form.
Issue:
The javascript validation for FLD 2 dropdown is working successfully.
When the user leaves this field as blank,the embedded javascript pops up an error message 'Selection of FLD 2 is manadatory before submitting the form!'.
As FLD 1 is also a mandatory field,the javascripting validation should pop up the similar error message 'Selection of FLD 1 is manadatory before submitting the form!'.
But,this first field validation is not at all working.
The system allows to submit the form even if the 'FLD 1' is left blank.
The javascript code sysntax for validation of FLD 1 & FLD 2 drop down list boxes as follows:

1. Your problem is actually related to JavaScript, not SQL and PL/SQL. So, this is the wrong forum to post. The closest to JS is the Application Express forum {forum:id=137}. Clearly state that it is not an Apex issue and that you are looking for JS help.

Drop-down list dont work at all

I have one table in adobe form. I would like to add drop-down list into one column cell.
I have another import parameter table which i try to bind to that cell.
Bind is like this: $record.LT_PROJECTS.DATA[*].AUFNR where LT_PROJECTS.DATA is that table where values( in field aufnr ) is.
When i print out to pdf and open it, first main table rows have those table lines in that cell. So it like explose value table rows to main table first rows.
If i use binding: $record.LT_PROJECTS.DATA.AUFNR it shows only first value of value table and when push field nothing happen...
Where my error is?

Yes. I found out that you have to write some Java **** to form header part to populate drop down list..Now it only question how?
My table data connection = interface = zinterface01 and my table name( where values are ) is lt_values. Fields are value and text.

Drop Down List Function Statement needed

Hello People,
Happy Thursday for Starters. Its Almost Friday. :-)
I have a drop down list, I would like to have a different subform populate with each value on the subform. example
1 = Bob Subform
2 = Holly Subform
And so on.
I have 22 values in the list and each need to populate a different subform. can Someone help me out real fast? I'd like to clean this up for the long weekend.

You will have to create all 22 subforms that could possibly be displayed. Mark them all as hidden. Then when the user makes a selection in the drop down, on the exit event of your dropdown your code woudl look something like this:
xfa.resolveNode("xfa.form.form1.Page1." + DropDown.rawValue (appropriate subform name)".presence = "visible"
Make sure you set up your form as a fowed form. If the user decides to select a different name after the 1st one is displayed, then you can hide any subforms that are showing or simply make the appropriate subform visiable as well. It will be added after the last one.

How to display Current Year and Month in Drop Down list

I am devloping a report. It has got 2 pages--input and output(Report) page.
IN input page, user will select Month and Year from drop down list as one of the input parameters. (seperate drop down list 4 month and year)

it is not working.
First i tired with for-loop. I initialized variable "i" to -2 (i=-2) I would get the year drop down list from 2003 but, by default 2003 would come.

Drop-Down List in interactiveForm

Hello everybody
I've just started using interactiveForm and I've a little doubt, I've a drop-down list linked to a node of the context.
I would like to bind an action on the selection of the drop-down list that must update another field/context element.
I explain better:
I ve a list of values/points
A 2
B 1
C 3
etc..
in my list I must have A/B/C
I've a field "points"
When I select A , point must be updated to "2"
When I select B , point must be updated to "1"
Is it possible? how? I'm looking on documentation but I'm not able to find the binding with an action.

yes, but I wasn't able to pass throught the onCheck.
I try to explain better.
I've the drop down list, with some values.
I've bind the onCheck of my form with an action so in the property of the form I've:
EVENT
property: onCheck value: checkType
and in my code the method
public void onActioncheckType(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
that just print a screen message.
Now when I change the value in my dropDown, I don't have the message so I think I miss a point: how to tell the dropdown to call the onCheck when I change the value.

Restricting the values in Drop Down list for ESS application

We are trying to restrict the values in the drop down list box for payment method field for direct deposit iview.
Here Payment is the Zlsch field.
here we are trying to have only 3 vlaues in the drop down. Do I have to do it from java code or can this be restricted on the ECC side?

What you have to do is create a DropDown ByIndex element instead of by Key and create a context node PaymentMethodNode and a value attribute PaymentAttribute under it ....then write the following code in the wdDoInit() method as :

Filling drop down list

i have two questions:
1. i have a drop down list as one of the columns in my table. i have context node having an attribute. how do i fill this drop down list.

Use method set_attribute_value_set of is used to set dropdown values to an attribute of a node.
DATA: lx_current_controller TYPE REF TO if_wd_controller,
lx_node_info TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node_info,
lx_element TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
ls_value TYPE wdy_key_value,
lt_value_set TYPE wdy_key_value_table,
lx_current_controller = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
Get the Values to that need to be set as dropdown,
Build the values set internal table. by doing the below.
CLEAR ls_value.
ls_value-key = ls_t005t-ID.
ls_value-value = ls_t005t-Airine.
APPEND ls_value TO lt_value_set[].
Set the dropdown.
Get Context reference
lx_node_info = wd_context->get_node_info( ).
Get Node 'INPUT_NODE' Reference
lx_node_info = lx_node_node->get_child_node( name = 'INPUT_NODE' ).
Set the Drop down.
lx_node_info->set_attribute_value_set( name = 'CARRID' value_set = lt_value_set ).
This would build the dropdown for the attribute.
Bind this to the column that must be displayed as DD.
Set the column type as 'Drop Down'

Drop down list in report program

Hi all,
I am using the function module VRM_SET_VALUES to display the drop down list for a selection screen field for a report program. It works fine in foreground but in background mode the job is getting cancelled and the error log states 'Make an entry in all required fields'. If I remove this code for drop down list for a selection screen field then the program runs correctly in back ground mode. So i feel there is some problem with the function module. Can anyone suggest me an alternate function module or how to correct this error. I have used the condition if 'SY-BATCH' is initial only then to exceute the code for displaying the drop down list for a selection screen field. But even then the background job gets cancelled. The function module is called in the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN output.

Hi,
Easy! You are calling that function module in the wrong event. It should be called in :
at selection-screen on value-request for <field name>
This way it is only executed if the user presses F4 (dropdown help) on that field.
Therefore it will no longer cause a problem for your background job.
