Drop-Down Warning

I am attempting to create a drop-down of Texas Counties.  There are 254 of them.  When I created a drop-down object and attempt to add a number of entries above a certain amount the drop-down object is tagged with a yellow box containing "ABC!" and any mouse over of the new object in LCD results in a message box with "An invalid argument was encountered". The resulting drop down works fine on the saved form, but the warnings in LCD are annoying.  I am using LCD ES2 version 9.0.0.2.20101008.1.734229.  How can I solve this problem?

I tried to replicate the scenario with LC designer 8.2 but unable to reproduce. Since i dont have the latest version i tried with 8.2.
My suggestion is to check the error/logs tab in the designer or reinstall the designer.
Thanks.

  • Quick Cluster no longer appears in drop down lists

    I haven't changed any settings, one day my cluster just disappears off all the lists it used to appear in (selecting which cluster to use in Compressor, Compressor Droplets and Shake)
    Now all that shows is "My Computer".
    The QuickCluster wasn't anything special, it was just a local cluster with 16 instances (all on my own computer) to take advantage of the many cores in my machine, unlike My Computer which runs a single thread and uses only an eighth of my available processing power.
    Reinstall? Something backend? Force Refresh somewhere I'm unfamiliar with?
    I've had my fair share of Qmaster/Compressor problems in the past, but this time I'm not having any trouble finding my cluster in Qadministrator, my Qmaster System Prefs aren't greyed out or anything, the only thing I can think of is my recent update to 10.6.3, but I can't be sure that was the trigger.

    Do you have any issue with just creating a regular cluster? instead of a quick cluster? it's not hard and much more reliable. Follow the steps below (this was originally written for multiple computers so if something references multiple computers, sorry- I did my best to edit my previous post to somebody else)
    Stop All services in the Qmaster Prefs window.
    Under the "setup" tab, Click the middle Bubble "Services and cluster controller". In the "services" section next to compressor check both "share" and "managed" boxes. Options for selected services, click and set as high (or low) as you want. More = Faster, Less = slower but sometimes more stable depending on your RAM.
    In the advanced tab, delete files older than : 7 days should suffice unless space is a problem. make it smaller.
    Reset the services by holding option and clicking the "start services" and then hit ok on drop-down warning that will show up. Release option and click "Start Sharing".
    Open "Apple Qadministrator". On the upper-left field are the actual Clusters (shouldn't be anything there). click the "+" symbol and create a cluster, Name it whatever you want. On the lower field (Qmaster Service Browser, May be hidden, just click the grey triangle to the left to drop down the field) there should be a list of the computers you have available to cluster. Click on the cluster you just created, Select all the computer in the Qmaster Service browser, and drag it into the upper right field, anywhere in the rectangle. The outer edge should highlight with a thick black bar. release and the computer should move into that field and out of the Qmaster Services Browser.
    Click on the "Controller" drop-down menu and Select the controller. When you hit Apply, the "Storage:" Field (directly under the "Controller" drop-down box) should change to reflect the storage location you set in the Qmaster Preferences. When you do this, you have created a cluster.
    When you send out of compressor - make sure you are either sending Quick time reference files (you shouldn't have any issues with that) or quicktime self-contained files.
    You CANNOT "Export to compressor..." from final cut. You CANNOT have your timeline open and do the usual "file>export>using compressor...". You MUST export a QuickTime reference (faster by only using render referenced files. THE TIMELINES MUST BE FULLY RENDERED, option+R instead of Cmd+R) or QT Self-Contained File (slower but more reliable as every frame is rendered. This can triple your time).
    It's an extra step up front, but the transcoding time is SIGNIFICANTLY faster - and you can continue working in final Cut on other projects.
    Let me know if you need further assistance.

    CRASH REPORT
    Product:  Adobe Photoshop CC
    Application running on:
    Apple iMac 3.5GHz late 2013 / Mavericks 10.9.2
    Application crashes without warning.  Symptom:  Drop down boxes go blank white  (I shot screen captures of blank drop down boxes) and application stops working, actions for appox. 10 minutes preceding crash are lost. Force Quit  required to quit unresponsive / frozen  application and then Restart of  Adobe Photoshop CC
    Crash Frequency:  Three time in this work day, 5.6.14  Once a day sporadically (approximately 10 times) in past two weeks.
    Other applications running at time of crashes:  Adobe Bridge - NOT effected.  Computer was on line with no browsers open.
    Otherwise computer continued to operate normally.
    I have been using Adobe Photoshop CC for approximately two months.

    Thanks, Chris,
    I hope that this is the solution.
    re:  "And a crash report without an actual crash report (a long, detailed text document available from the crash report dialog), is not all that useful" :
    I did in deed submit a homemade crash report.
    I would have submitted "an actual Crash Report "  and sooner, but:  When this event occurs. there are NO dialog boxes.  All frozen / blank.  No possibility of "actual crash report" !
    Thank you!

  • Qestion: my mac book shuts during my pauses while using keyboard.. first warns with drop down box (restart sleep cancel start).. if i don't hit cancel immediately it shuts down.. any help?

    Question: My computer shuts down while I am pausing briefly during use.. first display drop down box "RESTART, SLEEP, CANCEL, SHUTDOWN" warns me of shutdown coming.. If I do not hit cancel immediately, computer shuts down and I have to employ start up procedure each time.. very annoying.. I must admit that I am a novice user and suspect that there is some simple setting that I am overlooking.. however, I have gone through all the relevant settings in Apple System Preferences and cannot connect with one that solves this problem.. Any help greatly appreciated

    I think it's time to buy a new battery

  • Warning about drop-down html widget

    There's a widget to add a drop-down menu on iWeb pages that's available on this site:
    <http://allaboutiweb.com/index.php/2009/04/add-a-drop-down-menu-to-your-iweb-pag es/>
    It works! However, you can't change the color (pale blue) or the text style (small sans serif). When I tried and couldn't, I decided to ditch the widget.
    Then I found out that I COULDN'T DELETE THE DROP-DOWN widget. It seems to have latched on to a Statcounter html widget in a way that I can't see it in the Statcounter code.
    When I publish the page, the part of the drop-down menu I see is whatever fits the width of the widget window for Statcounter.
    (Think of a medicine cabinet with two sliding doors. You can see the inside of cabinet if the door's not closed. Now picture the inside of the cabinet as your drop-down menu and the doors as your page background. It's as if the widget box is an open door. You can make it small, but you still see part of the drop-down menu behind it.)
    I finally hid the entire widget behind a shape with 100% color fill.
    Does anyone have a more elegant solution to this problem? And is there a drop-down widget out there that will allow you to change its style? Thank you.

    Let me show you what I mean. Here's the html for the statcounter widget from a page where there's no problem (I have only changed the security and project IDs).
    <!-- Start of StatCounter Code -->
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var sc_project=0000000;
    var sc_invisible=1;
    var sc_partition=58;
    var scclickstat=1;
    var sc_security="aaaaaaaa";
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://www.statcounter.com/counter/counter.js"></script><noscript></noscript>
    <!-- End of StatCounter Code -->
    Here's the code from the page where there is a problem.
    <!-- Start of StatCounter Code -->
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var sc_project=0000000;
    var sc_invisible=1;
    var sc_partition=58;
    var scclickstat=1;
    var sc_security="aaaaaaaa";
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://www.statcounter.com/counter/counter.js"></script><noscript></noscript>
    <!-- End of StatCounter Code -->
    See? Identical.
    Now here's the html for the drop-down menu:
    <FORM NAME="URLlist">
    <SELECT NAME="droplist">
    <OPTION SELECTED="SELECTED" VALUE=" ">Select a page.</OPTION>
    <OPTION VALUE="http://www.thefirstURL.com">A Page Name</OPTION>
    <OPTION VALUE="http://www.anotherURL.com">Another Page Name</OPTION>
    <OPTION VALUE="http://www.anotherURL.com">Another Page name</OPTION>
    </SELECT><INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" VALUE="Go!" ONCLICK="GotoURL(this.form)">
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!--
    function GotoURL(dl) {
    // FRAMES - To open a selection in a document that uses frames
    // change top.location.href to parent.putyourframenamehere.location.href
    top.location.href = dl.droplist.options[dl.droplist.selectedIndex].value;
    // -->
    </SCRIPT>
    </FORM>
    So then--How would you get rid of the drop-down html code when it isn't visible anywhere on your iWeb pages?

    i think normally u will get data from databsae as objects.they are like java beans having getter and setter methods.so you create a collection of those objects like collect all the objects coming from database into an arraylist or....
    suppose you want to populate the dropdown box with say "username" from database object s, your code will look like that
    <html:select property="name">
    <html:options collection="databaseList" property="username" />
    </html:select>
    "databaseList" is collection(say.. ArrayList) of objects you are getting from database.this dropdown will contain all the "usernames" you are getting from database.

  • With multiple tabs open, I use to click File, close tab---now close tab is missing and I exit out of Firefox completely. How do I get that choice back "close tab" in the "File" drop down? Thanks. George C.

    The drop down "FILE" in the tool bar use to have a choice to "CLOSE TAB". This is now missing so when I have multiple tabs open and I want to close the most recent, I cannot. I then get warned that I will be closing multiple numbers of tabs, but there is no other choice.
    How do I get the "CLOSE TAB" back in the drop down "FILE" in the tool bar

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • How do I use a drop-down box to turn on a radio button?

    I have a dynamic form with a drop-down box containing selections 1, 2, 3, and 4; later in the form I have a radio button group with two radio buttons labeled "pass" and "fail".
    I would like to have drop-down selections 1 and 2 automatically select "fail" and 3 and 4 automatically select "pass" in the radio button group, with the option of the user changing this with a warning message.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thx
    Drew

    Hi,
    you can use this JavaScript in the change event of your drop down list.
    var sel = xfa.event.newText;
    RadioButtonGroup.rawValue = (sel === "1" || sel === "2") ? 1 : 2;

  • Wifi connection drops down. [SOLVED]

    Hi, I'm having some issues with the wifi, in my notebook lenovo b5070. The main problem is that the connection drops down after 20, 30 minutes. I tried to change from NetworkManager to Wicd, but that didn't change anything. I also tried to create a profile and connect me through netctl, but again that didn't change anything. Other issues that I'm having are: Sometimes I can't even connect to the wifi, or if I can connect finally, and I try to request some website, the browser keeps idle and finally shows a "Server not found" message. Also the wifi signal seems pretty fine. I also tried change the tx, rts to the max with iwconfig, but this didn't change anything. I'm running out of ideas. Any idea?

    Y
    I mean, the parameters changed or not? I also tried with setting with N instead of 0.
    EDIT:
    The drop downs come back shortly after. I find quite strange that I cannot manage the power from iwconfig
    [astinx@compu ~]$ sudo iwconfig wlp9s0 power off
    [sudo] password for astinx:

  • Is there a way to change the date format so that delegates have to choose a day, month and year from a drop down menu as my delegates keep forgetting to change the year of their information

    When my delegates are filling in a event form i have put together, a large number of them forget to change either the month or year on the date field. Is there a way to have a date field that has drop down boxes for day, month and year so they have to choose rather than a date been already on the screen??
    Thanks

    Hi Christopher,
    The WEEKDAY function allows specifying either Sunday or Monday as the first day of the week:
    WEEKDAY
    The WEEKDAY function returns a number that is the day of the week for a given date. WEEKDAY(date, first-day)
      date:  The date the function should use. date is a date/time value. The time portion is ignored by this function.
      first-day: An optional value that specifies how days are numbered.
    Sunday is 1 (1 or omitted):  Sunday is the first day (day 1) of the week and Saturday is day 7.
    Monday is 1 (2):  Monday is the first day (day 1) of the week and Sunday is day 7. Monday is 0 (3):  Monday is the first day (day 0) of the week and Sunday is day 6.
    But I think you are referring to the first day of the 'workweek', for which I do not see a means of defining a custom value.
    Since you want to 'insert categories', though, you could easily define your own, using WEEKDAY(date) or WEEKDAY(date,1), plus an IF statement to return the category label appropriate to the day. Here's one for a Sunday to Thursday work week. Dates are in column A, the formula is in whichever column you want as the Category column. For the example, I've placed it in column B.
    B2, and filled down: =IF(WEEKDAY(A)<6,"Work","Off")
    The top table shows the weekday numbers returned for each day of the week for each of the three permitted values for the optional second argument. The bottom table shows the results from the formula above, used to define a category label for each date:
    A10 was left blank intentionally, to determine if the lack of data resulted in an error. The Warning message, flagged by the blue 'warning' triangle, is "The formula uses a number in place of a date." The 'date' assigned to this numerical value of zero was a Friday, but I'm not certain when. Probably best to avoid extra rows with no date shown.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Drop-down menu in Dreamweaver CS5.5 not displaying

    Thanks for anyone's help.  I'm a first time user of the forum so please excuse any protocol errors.
    I can't get my drop-down menu to display on my web page (http://www.cglcontracting.com/) on a Windows platform using Dreamweaver CS5.5.
    Thanks very much for any advice/help.

    Hi again -
    My previous suggestion did not seem to make any difference, the CSS still did not validate.
    I seems to be choking on your Browser Hack section.
    http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cglcontracting.com%2FSpr yAssets%2FSpryMenuBarHorizontal.css&profile=css3&usermedium=all&warning=1&vextwarning=&lan g=en
    I re-wrote the bottom Browser Hack section and it now validates.
    I'll paste the whole CSS file here, Save it as "SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" and give it a try.

  • Spry Drop Down Duplicated in Empty Space

    This is regarding this site: staging.istservice.com .
    My spry menu is behaving very strangely. In Firefox there is
    a duplicate ghost menu (just the subs) that appears on the far left
    of the screen (it's a very long screen shot so I will give you the
    link instead of posting: staging.istservice.com/GhostMenu.jpg
    You can only see the full menu if you have a very wide
    monitor (I had to spread it across two to get the screen shot). But
    if you have even a somewhat wide monitor you can see the very left
    side of the duplicate menu. When you hover over a drop down in the
    page menu, the correlating ghost menu disappears. If you keep your
    mouse hovered over it, they blink on and off very quickly.
    For even further oddness, in Explorer this only show up when
    I preview the local file. Once I post it (and thus avoid the
    ActiveX warning) it disappears.
    I can't seem to connect the dots here. I know firefox has
    issues with spry but I was able to fix the spry-over-flash issue
    with some janky workarounds. I’m still not quite sure why
    they worked. However, the above bug pre-dated the workaround so I
    doubt they caused it.
    Any thoughts?

    > You can only see the full menu if you have a very wide
    monitor
    In FF3 (not sure about earlier) you can use Ctrl+ scroll on
    mouse to zoom to
    see your problem without a wide monitor.
    Check out your duplicate id's which may help when you fix
    them
    (mainContent), and the omitted end tag for <li>

  • Adobe Flash player jiggles the screen on drop down boxes, videos, and animation

    Any time I visit a site with drop down boxes, videos, or animation that require Flash, that portion of the screen will do a fast jiggle up and down - like it is refreshing too fast. Adobe Flash works fine in IE. Some sites the jiggle is slower than others. This is only happening with Firefox. I have searched the net for possible solutions and cannot find others with this problem. The jiggling is almost like portions of the screen have gone spastic.
    I am running Windows 7 64 bit on a Toshiba Laptop . I am running Firefox 9 and Flash 11.1.102.55 64 bit plug in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs and have not been able to fix it. My video driver is up to date.

    Tylerdowner, as a moderator, one would think that, prior to adjusting comments/solutions, especially when not having a Mac, you would do more research (bet you know someone with a Mac, to duplicate problem), or pass responding on to a moderator who does have a Mac (I am amazed that you are even a moderator on Mac problems/situations, if you only have access to a PC). Had the solutions above worked, I would not have needed to figure out another solution (we all know the newest release of anything is the most secure). Finally I am open to any fixes (tested) that you can provide, that improve upon mine. As a moderator, maybe you have pull with the Foxtab and/or Adobe people to get them to work out compatibility, and lastly, maybe add a warning at the Foxtab add-ons page, after verifying the problem yourself, with an associate's/friend's Mac.

  • Font not found when opening file and not able to resolve, but is listed in the fonts drop down list?

    Hi, i just downloaded some files from a friend and he sent me a link to download the fonts. I did so and 98% of the fonts work, but there are two fonts i am struggling with.
    When i open the file i get the font missing warning and it asks me to resolve the fonts. I cannot find the appropriate font in the drop down list so i click 'don't resolve' and start to edit the file. i then come across some text that has missing fonts and i am able to highlight the text and change the text to the appropriate font using the type tool and the font I am looking for is in the drop down list.
    The fonts that aren't working are:
    Franchise Bold and BebasNeue
    The problem is there are multiple separate incidents where these fonts occur, and going through changing each one manually would take a lot of time.
    Is there something i can do to fix them all at once?
    Thanks,
    Harry

    I do not see either font  in the list you show.  I see Bebas Neue xxx but no Bebas Neue without any extra style. Try Bebas Neue at Download Bebas Neue Font - Thousands of fonts to download for free

    You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
    Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
    Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
    You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
    Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
    Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
    Once opened and saved in Pages 5.1 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
    Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
    All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
    Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
    Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs, including files that refuse rto open:
