Drop user without UNDO generation
Hello everyone,
I am a Oracle 11g 11.2 user and am trying to drop a user but that operation is creating huge amount of UNDO data. I was wondering if it is ever possible to drop this user preventeing UNDO generation... Is that even possible?
Thanks for your inputs,
TS

Drop user cannot be rollback, so there is no way it generates undoIt doesn't meant that just because it can't be rolled back , it doesn't generate undo. The undo would be generated for the updations happening over the dictionary objects but its amount won't be "enormous" as what OP mentioned.

I dropped my ipod 4th generation in water, and I turned it on without knowing that it might never turn on again. I don't know what to do, pleae help me!!!
You could well be looking at a new iPod, but this will only cost you a couple of bucks, and a little time. Worth trying, but it maybe to late, (I just don't want to give you any false hope.) Turn your iPod off and leave it off, do not attempt to charge it or use until you dry your iPod out. Put it in a sealed bag of rice for at least 7 to 10 days. change the rice daily. If (and it's a "BIG" if) your lucky after drying the iPod it will start up when you turn on the power. You may need to charge it for at least 30 minutes to get some signs of life. If it does not turn on after charging attempt a reset, press and hold both the power and home buttons together for about 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, then release both buttons. If your iPod turns on, check that all is working. If you get it to work the first thing you should be is back up everything on your iPod to your computer, no guarantee it will continue to work. Water does bad things to electronic toys. If it doesn't work your only out a couple of bucks, then it's time for new toys. You may want to look at replacing with a refurbished iPod, about 1/2 of new. Good luck.

How to create a new user without any sample objects from any other user?
Question as the title.
I had the example dababase installed when I installed the Oracle database.
Every time, when I create a new user, there will be some example objects coming
with the new user.
How can I remove these objects from the new user?
Or, how can I create a new user without the example objects?
Thanks in advance.I think the easiest way for you would be to use OEM.
Just locate each object that you want to remove and right click->remove. Don't bother doing this for any indexes as these will be removed when you drop the corresponding tables.
If you want to try command line through sqlplus then identify the objects you want to remove by selecting from the user_objects view while logged in as this user. This will give you the name and type of object. Then issue the relevant drop command.
It's probably worth making sure you have a valid backup first, just in case things go wrong! -
PSE9 - How to undo Effect without undoing other actions
I've been wondering this for a while, but keep forgetting to post - Sometimes when creating a project, I'll add an "effect," such as a drop shadow, to a layer, but later decide to change it.
How do I undo that effect without undoing all the other actions that i have applied between when I initially applied the drop shadow, and when I decide to change it?
Is there a way to choose "no effect" in the Effects? If not, it would be helpful to have that option in this case.
Thanks for any help!Well, a layer style is not an effect. If you really mean layer styles (like the drop shadow you mentioned), just go to Layer>Layer Style>Clear Layer Style. That works any time, even after you've saved and closed the file.
Actual effects are actions, and you can only back out of those with the undo commands/undo history. Once you pass the number of history states you're saving, or once you close the image, that's it. No going back. -
Dropping the 4th undo tablespace, 4th thread from a 3 instance database
I migrated a 4 instance RAC database from a 4 node server to a 3 node RAC database server. However, I still have the 4th undo tablespace and the 4th redo log thread. Are there any precautions I need to take before dropping the 4th undo tablespace? Must I also drop the 4th redo log thread, or will the database function properly even without a 4th node to go with the 4th thread?
I presume I have to also disable the 4th public thread? Is this the command below?
Alter database disable public thread=4;I guess it does not matter that group 12 in thread 4 is "CURRENT" since the thread is not being used. But I don't believe I can drop a "CURRENT" group, can I?
SQL> select group#, thread#, bytes, members, status from v$log;
GROUP# THREAD# BYTES MEMBERS STATUS
1 1 52428800 2 CURRENT
2 1 52428800 2 INACTIVE
3 1 52428800 2 INACTIVE

I have created three new users without Apple IDs and they can't log into either of my Macbook Pro or Mac Mini running Mountain Lion. These accounts are for my kids and originally were setup with parental controls and time constraints. Thinking this was the problem I removed the time constraints, removed the parental controls, deleted and re-added them, and made them standard users. I have reinstalled, used disk utility to repair permissions, and made them admins. Any help is appreciated.
Users don't need Apple ID's. That's not the issue. Have you tried repairing permissions their accounts?

Repairing User Permissions in OS X Lion
You’ll need to reboot to perform this, and then use the same resetpassword utility that is used to change passwords in Lion, but instead choosing a hidden option.
When you use the Disk Utility app and Repair Permissions — it doesn’t actually repair the permission settings on folders and files in your Home folder where your documents and personal applications reside.
In Lion, there is an additional Repair Permissions application utility hidden away. This tool is located inside boot Repair Utilities. Here’s how to access it.
Restart Lion and hold down the Command and R keys. You will boot into the Repair Utilities screen. On top, in the Menu Bar click the Utilities item then select Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and hit Return.
The Password reset utility launches, but you’re not going to reset the password. Instead, click on the icon for your Mac’s hard drive at the top. From the drop-down below it, select the user account where you are having issues.
At the bottom of the window, you’ll see an area labeled ‘Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs’. Click the Reset button there.
The reset process takes a couple of minutes. When it’s done, quit the programs you’ve opened and restart your Mac. Notice that ‘Spotlight’ starts re-indexing immediately. -
Have a MacMini that is dropping NFS Share connections, Using cifs://servername/path however the NFS Share is dropped everyday without fail. Is there a better way to setup this share? I've got 5 other Macs that use the same NFS Share and none of them are dropping the shared connection. This is on OSX 10.9.x Maverick.
cifs:// is not NFS cifs:// is effectively SMB i.e. Windows filesharing, NFS is Unix filesharing, furthermore cifs:// is a way of forcing Mavericks to use SMB version 1 protocol. Normally you would use smb:// which will default to trying to use SMB version 2 protocol.
Saying all that, SMB version 1, SMB version 2, and NFS should all normally work fine. It is possible that the server may be configured to disconnect idle users although one would expect this to happen with other users as well. It is perhaps more likely that your problem Mavericks Mac maybe going to sleep periodically, while asleep the connection to the server maybe being lost. Apple's own server software has specific cleverness to allow clients to sleep and resume their connection when they wake.
Therefore it might be worth checking your Energy Saver settings on this Mac and disabling computer sleep. -
How to realize the scenario of Inclusive Free Goods without Item Generation
I include the condition type NRAB in my pricing procedure, but it shows me that this condition ignored(requirement 059 not fulfilled).
why?Hi,
Prerequisites
In the free goods master record in the Free goods category field, select free goods category 3 (inclusive free goods without item generation).
Follow the foll. procedure:
In free goods master data maintenance, this new free goods type is dealt with in the same way as the inclusive free goods procedure described above.
In order processing, you can not create order sub-items.
For pricing in the main item, you need to create a discount. The standard system provides pricing procedure RVAA01 and condition type NRAB.
Condition type NRAV is set up as follows:
It does not determine a discount from a condition record. It uses condition basis formula 029 in the pricing procedure to determine a discount from the free goods factor.
The condition receives the new pricing requirement 059 in the pricing procedure. This requirement checks whether free goods have already been determined.
The condition type receives condition category f. This condition category ensures that the condition is redetermined every time the quantity is changed, since this can also mean a change to the free goods quantity.

How to Use 'uid' for AD Users Without Domain Name For User Log in OAM

We successfully integrated OAM 11g with EBS R12.1.3 Now all the AD user id's stored in fnd_users table as [email protected]
How can we remove @abc.com
We are using OID 11g and OAM 11g

hi Florian
S cnos user exists in dba_users view. how can i delete it?You cannot "DELETE" a user. You can only "DROP" the user.

Inclusive free goods sale without item generation
Dear All,
I have done successfully free goods sale exclusive with item generation but facing problems with inclusive & inclusive without item generation, in VBN1 for NA00 I have maintained following.
material code - Min Qty - 5 - from - 10 PC - are free goods 1 PC- calc rule - 1
for inclusive and exclusive both in VA01 showing extra lines for freee goods (sale as exclusive)
I have searched at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/06/629ee9fb9c11d199ee0000e8a5bd28/content.htm
here it is mentioned that -"In the free goods master record in the Free goods category field, select free goods category 3 (inclusive free goods without item generation)."
But I have not seeing any field in VBN1 t code where I can maintained free goods category as 3. Can anyone revert how I can maintained this free goods category for inclusive free goods without item generation.
regards,
sp shuklaIn VBN2 Maintain (scroll right to get all field)
- calc. rule (Calculation type for determining free goods quantity) as 2(Unit reference).
FYI, Others are 1 - Pro rata & 3 - Whole units
- free goods category 3 - Inclusive rebate (w/o item generation; only for sales).
And coorespondingly maintain Free Goods delivery control.
