Dropbox & mycloud

Hi guys,
Quick question I need to transfer quite a lot of photo's from and to a dropbox account using my My mirror.
Now I would like to know if there is a way to do so without having to keep my computer on because it takes a lot of time.
I've found that using my ipad i can transfer photo's to the dropbox ( but not from it) without having to keep my ipad on.
I would really like to be able to transfer without having my computer on because every time i need to do so it will be around a thousand RAW files.
I really hope someone can help me out.

Once the app is installed on the NAS, you should find the Dropbox file tree in the public share of the MCM. If you put the files into there, they should be synchronised with the equivalent location in your Dropbox file structure, in much the same way that they would be from a standard computer.

Dropbox, the new app available in MyCloud Mirror

I'm happy with this news that I quickly added to my device, but noted the total lack of control of what happens during the upload and download.
In fact it is about three months I'm uploading one hundred and three gigabyte and I hope to see the finish line within this life.
I suggest to review the architecture of this app and also suggest adding an index that allows for control of the process, such as loading the individual files by highlighting the original weight, the loaded weight and the weight to be loaded and the speed of bandwidth and the possibility of intervening differentiating day from night, without limiting the daily work in internet.

I assumed that if I bought two mycloud ex2 (which I did) that I could keep the two in sync so when I am in either location the shares could be mounted locally and be the same. The two locations are a few hundred miles apart but both have fairly highspeed Internet connections. I've tried the backup options and have not succeeded in getting a complete backup. It seems that even the slightest network hiccup aborts the backup. The backups that have partially completed put the copy of the share in several layers of subdirectories so it does not seem like I could mount the share using the same name at both sites. It would be fantastic if the ex2's in the two locations could be set up to mirror each other. Mounting the shares remotely works but is fairly slow so having a local copy is what I was hoping for when I bought a second ex2. Perhaps the backups rearrange the directory tree when they complete but thus far (after several attempts) I've not successfully completed a backup of ~100 GB. It would also be great if the backup/sync operation recovered from network interruptions. Most "cloud" services these days such as DropBox, Google Drive, OneDrive,... have this capability. If the network goes down they keep trying to connect and when it returns the syncing recommences. Would be great if the ex2's did the same.

MyCloud Mirror sync with Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Apple iCloud or others?

My dream is to have MyCloud Mirror on day and night and synchronized with the Cloud remote I chose.
My data will have two safe places to stay:
In my house In a remote server
In the event of a disaster recovery altogether.
Every day I can have it all without waiting for the download time and upload.
It may be a good idea? We develop applications to be installed on MyCloud Mirror is this NAS will be autonomous in its work.

WD MyCloud et le logiciel Smartware

j'ai un WD "MyCloud" 2 TO depuis 1 an. Aujourd'hui la sauvegarde que j'effectue avec WD SmartWare ne fonctionne plus. Le logiciel Smartware ne "voit" même plus le MyCloud (seule l'option dropbox est proposée). Je ne peux pas non plus accèder à l'onglet sauvegarde...
Le WD MyCloud est pourtant visible depuis mon ordi...
Seul changement depuis l'installation faite: remplacement de mon modem "box", de chez Belgcom, par une version plus récente... je suppose que le souci est donc à chercher par là, mais où exactement ?

Bonjour, sur PC windows 7 j'ai un Passport et un Passport Ultra:Smartware a fonctionné avec les 1er pendant quelques temps puis s'est bloqué à la 1ere mise à jour.Pareil et même pire avec le Ultra.J'ai contacté l'assistance qui bien en peine n'a jamais su me donner de raison ni donner des infos pour que ça marche.Bon, quand je branche ça semble sauvegarder automatiquement.Je cherche de l'aide moi aussi, merci.

IPhone with iOS 8+ Auto Upload with WD Photo or WD MyCloud

Is this in the works at all?
My Galaxy S3 had the ability to auto-upload photos to MyCloud but it looks like iOS devices still do not.
Dropbox, GDrive, AmazonCloudDrive and others all offer Auto-Uploading. but iOS still does not support that feature.
I know other Cloud device manufactures offer auto-upload on their iOS apps so why isn't WD Photo able to do this yet?
I'd like to keep using my MyCloud and sync all our family phones to it.

There's nothing new about this suggestion. It must be an Apple thing. I've been using the auto photo upload for a couple years now via my Samsung Galaxy 4 and now Edge. Also have done this with my son's LG. Probably one of the WD's best features. Sorts into folders by month and retains all data. My wife has an iphone and we have to do everything manually then sort into folders. We also have an Apple Airport with 2TB of storage, this will auto upload from iphones. The joke is you need to also by a mac in order to make that work. I read that WD photo app used to allow auto upload from iphones, but the feature was removed a few updates ago due to Apple WD dispute. (can't verify that, but it sounds like if you have an iphone, Apple really wants you to only use either their cloud or spend $1400 + for an airport and a mac, to do what droid users can do with just the WD. ) It would be great if WD could bring full functionallity to the iphone app also. I only checked this forum for this very reason, thought in 2 years maybe some progress was made.

Can I use FileLink with WD MyCloud?

In case you don't know WD My Cloud is a personal cloud for those of us who aren't IS experts with servers of all sorts and conversant with such. Its a private alternative to using public 3rd party services.
At first it seemed as if DL might be the answer - but that is for IS experts with their own servers.
Yes - MyCloud is essentially a server - but not something I can program. Seems like for this to work Mozilla needs an arrangement with WD like it has with other services.
Either that or I just don't understand DL.

Thank-you - unfortunately getting to wd is a challenge - the support access gauntlet to make such a suggestion of query is a daunting as most companies these days. It SHOULD be easily possible for wd to do since coming from the other end - from the My Cloud App its easy to send a file or whole directory (I haven't tried multiple files). It opens a thunderbird email and inserts the link for access to an otherwise private file (links a whole directory as a .ZIP file). Its just not automatic from tbird like filelink - but then I guess I don't understand filelink either as I can't get it to work with dropbox - I have a valid account but it always has a problem with accessing dropbox via filelink.
BTW - Google Drive would seem another nice place for FileLink to support.

Dropbox syncing to wrong folder

I have a dropbox account which syncs all my uploaded data to the Dropbox Folder in my home directory. However, recently I had changed the name of my home directory and dropbox syncs my uploaded data into the folder on the old home directory rather than to the dropbox folder in my new home directory. Can anybody help me with how to make dropbox sync the data into my new home directory? By the way, what I did in order to change my home directory name was I used this command in the terminal:
sudo mv /Users/oldname /Users/newshortname
and then in "Users & Groups" in System Preferences I changed my home directory in Advanced Options under my name.

I think the Unlink This Computer button in Dropbox/Preferences/Account should remove it from the old account then Link should add it to the new account.

How to add 'Other' cloud storage accounts - alongside Dropbox, Evernote etc in AiO Remote

I wonder if anybody knows what types of 'Other' accounts can be added in the Cloud Storage settings in HP All In One Printer Remote mobile apps. The usual options for Box, Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive etc are there but there is also an option of 'Other' under the 'Add Account' section.
In 'Other' you are asked for the following details:
Name (An identification name)
User Name
Password
Server URL
I'm wondering whether this is for FTP or WebDAV or HTTP Post etc? I'm hoping the answer is WebDAV. The issue here is that I would rather use a service I host myself than a Public Cloud Service.
Any ideas or assistance gratefully received.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the HP All In One Printer Remote mobile app. After explore the app, on both Android and iOS, here is what I found.
The option that you describe is only found in the iOS app. I found the "other" that you spoke about in the settings menu. My understanding of this is that you can connect to a server, etc. Here is what it says in my settings:
Name (My server)
User Name ([email protected])
Password
Server URL (http://host.com)
Please understand that the above example is from an iPad Air running iOS 7.

Multiple apple dropboxes for one account

Can you have multiple apple dropbox accounts in the public folder for one user account? EX: instructor account and 3 different public dropboxes for 3 different users on the same instructor account? Using mountain lion and the users are not mac (computer) experts they are just "users"

You don't need to create two separate libraries.
If you want to sync different content onto each device, select the device in iTunes, select the tabs across the top and sync what you want.
To make it easier, create different playlists for each device and sync only those playlists.

When I open a pdf document from my dropbox to view it, the document shows up blank, even though it is filled out. This also happened with pdf documents that have been e-mailed to me.

When I open emails with PDFs I click on the attachment (doing this all on my iPad) it gives me the option to "open in iBooks", I accept then after that the document is sucked into my iPad but I can't do anything with the PDF after that. Where is the actual file on my iPad? Why can't I email or send these PDFs to my cloud (Dropbox)?
It's like once they go into iBooks they're stuck forever.

If you're loading photos to drop box why do you expect to see them in iPhoto?
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.

How do you export a pdf from acrobat dc to dropbox on a mac

I have been using dropbox for years and have never had a problem exporting a pdf to it until I got Adobe Acrobat DC. Please tell me how to export to a dropbox file.

"stored on acrobat" – PDF files in your acrobat.com account ("Files" or "Workspace")?
If so then you can access those from your install Adobe Reader Mobile app.

Dropbox process running under root.

Hello people i just checked activity monitor for a process and i saw the process "dbfseventsd" and i google it and it came up that it is a dropbox process, and it was running under the root user and it was a 32bit process. Can anyone tell me why that process was there note the process is not always there when i use dropbox.

Since a couple days, in my Home appears DCQd7rmUW9.tmp. It is a temp file produced by dbfseventsd but operated by Java. It is a DropBox process anyway?

How do I get an edited pdf out of Adobe reader and into my dropbox so I can access it later?

I have an ipad mini that I use to read journal articles. I open them in Adobe Reader and use the tool to edit them (highlight, underline, comment, etc). Once Ihave finished editing them how do I export them back to drop dropbox so that I can use them later on my laptop?

Open the document in the Adobe reader app.
Tap on the document to display the tool bar (if it is no already open.
Tap on the Open In icon (upper right - looks like a box with an arrow)
Select Open In...
Select DropBox (depending on the number of app you have available for this function, you may have to swipe to find it
Drop Box should open with a Save to Dropbox window.
Tap save
You Adobe Reader app should have come with a user guide as one of the preloaded documents. It should have instruction for this as well

I have backups of my data on my Bootable USB hard drives. I have a DropBox account.

I can't figure our how to move items out of my Dropbox folder into the storage on my machine?
I have no Mac desktop machine or other laptop, the iPad is it.

If that's what you want to do, the most integrated approach might be iCloud/ iTunes Match. You download to your device what you want, and it stays on your device until you delete it. I think it still has some kinks to work out, but for $25 a year it might be the most practical solution for what you're wanting. Of course, you'll need a computer to get your stuff into the cloud, but once that's done then you're free to download copies as you need them.
