DropDownList prompt text color over

How do you set the prompt text color for a DropDownList in the over state.
The DropDownListButtonSkin has an over state so I can set anything to do with the button in this skin.
However, the prompt does not belong to the button but to the DropDownList itself. The DropDownList skin does not have an over state.
I am trying to create a UI where the prompt color and style changes as the user mouses over the DDL but I can't see how to do this.

Hi,
Did you ever manage to solve this? I'm having exactly the same problem
Many thanks in advance
Chris

  • How do I change the text color of footers on select pages? (InDesign CS6)

    Good afternoon,
    Months ago, I worked with a graphic designer to put together a 100-page workbook for my training company. He turned all of the files over to me and I'd like to make a small change before we print another run for a new client. Specifically, I'm having trouble changing the text color on select pages. Since a picture says 1,000 words, let me give you an example:
    As you can see, the copyright information on the right side of the page is difficult to read here when placed over the photo (you may have to look closely, but it's along the guy's sleeve). What I'd love to do is change that part of the footer (not the left, page number side) to white text. This would make it quite a bit easier to read. There's a number of other pages in the book that I want to make this change to. I'm not sure why I never noticed it or mentioned it to the designer. I suppose I've become more discerning since then.
    Let me tell you what I've tried to do:
    I learned how to override master pages by CTRL+SHIFT clicking on the footer. However, this has not worked for me. It allows me to change the page number part, but not the copyright side. Additionally, sometimes when I override the master the formatting of the footer goes goofy. For instance, the left side and right side come together and end up in the middle of the page I'm working on.
    I'm looking for a quick way to go through and make the footers easier to read on pages where they are backed by a photo. Hoping you can help me. Please let me know if you need any other information.
    Best,
    Taylor

    I think you should have left it as it was. It seems like what you had was single pages flowing as spreads within InDesign. Like below. That is the correct way, and when you changed it to all single, it did create your footer problems.
    Will you be sending the file as a PDF to your online printer? If so, then leaving the InDesign file set as below is fine. The PDF output will separate the pages.
    All you have to do is make sure that Pages, not Spreads, is chosen when you output the PDF

  • How to set selected text color in Spark TextInput

    I'm trying to make Spark TextInputs and MXFTETextInputs look like Halo/MX TextInputs as much as possible, since I have a mix of both Spark and MX TextInputs in my application. I know I can set the
    selection background color to black using focusedTextSelectionColor. How can I set the selected text color to white so it matches the MX white-on-black look?

    This works, if you set the enabled property directly on the s:TextInput:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                   xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                   xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx">
        <s:layout>
            <s:VerticalLayout horizontalAlign="center" verticalAlign="middle" />
        </s:layout>
        <s:controlBarContent>
            <s:CheckBox id="ch" label="enabled" selected="true" />
        </s:controlBarContent>
        <fx:Style>
            @namespace s "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark";
            @namespace mx "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx";
            s|TextInput:disabled {
                color: red;
        </fx:Style>
        <s:Group>
            <s:TextInput id="ti" text="The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" enabled="{ch.selected}" />
        </s:Group>
    </s:Application>
    It can get a bit trickier when you're setting the enabled property on a parent container, since (I believe) that the child control's enabled properties are still set to true and just the container is disabled. One possible workaround would be to bind the child TextInput control's enabled property to the container's enabled property. That way the s:TextInput should still go to it's disabled state and you can customize the disabled state's styles to have darker text, or whatever else you want.
    <s:Group id="gr" enabled="{ch.selected}">
        <s:TextInput id="ti" text="The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" enabled="{gr.enabled}" />
    </s:Group>

  • Easy one I hope: How do I change text color?

    For the life of me I can't seem to find anything with a color pallette (except for background fill). I need to change text color but don't know where to find it.  Everything's always black. When I highlight the text, and goto "Font", I see something that looks like the "Select Text Color" (like the one above but as soon as you mouse over it, it turns to a crossed-out "ABC", and can't get the pallette.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
    Question: Are these fields that you had changed the type of in the Object Pallet/Field Tab/Type ? If so, try deleting the object and put a new one in its place from the Object Library.
    If no, what sort of parent do these items have? Table Row? or SubForm?
    Good luck!

  • Changing text color of item renderer in datagrid

    Hi,
    I have the following datagrid:
    <mx:DataGridColumn field="name" ......... />
    <mx:DataGridColumn itemRenderer="myRenderer" ...... />
    In myRenderer, I extend from the TextInput class; with the
    text color:WHITE
    My question is:
    When I do a mouse rollover/selection on any row of the
    datagrid, how can I change the text color of my renderer?
    If I add the rollover/selection event listener for my
    renderer, it will only change the color when my mouse is over its
    column.
    I want it to change colour whenever the row is selected/
    rollover.
    Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    hy

    Hi,
    The rollOverColor and selectionColor style on the Datagrid
    will only work for the normal columns.
    Since my column extends from the TextInput, the rollOverColor
    and selectionColor style does not seem to have any effect on the
    itemrenderer.

  • Linux: The tabs text color changes with the theme, while the menu text color is always black.

    Hello,
    When Firefox theme is changed, it usually changes window appearance, e. g. backgrounds, and sets corresponding text color to contrast with that background. It always used to be like this. For instance, I currently use Sunflower_01 theme which sets blue sky as a background. The tabs text is white, as well as the bookmarks. The white text contrasts very fine with the sky. But the menu items are awfully black, casting dark-gray shadows on the dark-blue sky. The menu remains black regardless of the theme I set.
    Of course, it's all fine without any add-ons (light background, dark text), but with a theme enabled, it looks not the way it used to be. I wonder if it can be fixed somehow.
    I use Mozilla Firefox 33.0 for Linux Mint (release 13, maya).
    Looking forward to your reply.
    Regards,
    Andrey

    Hello,
    Did you install from the repositories? I have found the same problem with Ubuntu 14.04, a workaround is to either use a userChrome.css file, or (in my opinion, the easier route) [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ Stylish] extension with a new Style.
    See these articles about the userChrome.css file:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.php?title=UserChrome.css
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css_Element_Names/IDs
    If you use the userChrome.css route, you may need to restart Firefox to apply the changes.
    See this article for Stylish:
    * http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1570945
    To add a new style in Stylish, click on the Stylish tool on your toolbar, then "Write New Style", then "Blank style". Or:
    * Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Add-ons > User Styles > Write New Style
    Example code for either one method you choose (you can play around with the colours, but I found this worked nicely for my theme):
    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");
    /*change size, color, style of text in Menu Bar */
    menubar > menu
    {color: darkgray !important}
    /* Mouse hovering over menu */
    menubar > menu[_moz-menuactive="true"]
    {color: white !important;}
    /* Active/Open menus */
    menubar > menu[_moz-menuactive="true"][open="true"]
    {color: black !important;}

  • Acrobat XI Pro Mac: Changing Text Color moves Text within Paragraph

    Dear Acrobat Experts!
    I've been using Acrobat Pro for over a decade now (Win and Mac) - but Acrobat XI Pro Mac shows some behavior I cannot deal with:
    When I'm changing text color of say a couple of words within a paragraph, usually the formatting changes and text is being moved/shifted. It looks like the text with altered color requires more space and consequently the following words are shifted which very often ruins the whole formatting. This makes Acrobat XI for me nearly unusable, I had never a behavior like this in former Acrobat versions (Win or Mac).
    I cannot believe that this is "normal" - so what's the mistake I'm making? For illustration please see the two screenshots I included.
    I'm looking forward to your helpful comments!
    Oliver

    Hi Sukrit!
    Thanks for your assistance.
    This is the first and only Acrobat version ever I had this problem with. I am running Acrobat Version 11.0.10 under Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite on a MacBook Pro 15" Retina display. I am working on Mac only since Acrobat Pro 7 - the versions before were Windows.
    So I cannot comment on Acrobat XI Pro Win.
    This is happening with all of my PDF docs - regardless of origin (textbook, scientific journal, or PDFs I generated by myself as export from office applications etc.).
    The only difference is the amount of changes to the formatting (shifting of text).
    To illustrate my workflow I generated a screencast and uploaded it here:

    Looking forward to hear from you again!

  • Help with positioning text links over image

    I'm creating a five page site with a different background
    color for each horizontal nav bar. I created a solid color graphic
    (780 x 30) and inserted it into my div. I now want to place my text
    links over the graphic but I can't seem to do it. It keeps
    appearing underneath. Someone recommended using a table and I'm
    wondering if this would be easier.
    Thanks!

    You have to use the image as a background image in your
    'navcontainer' <div>
    #navcontainer {
    background-image: url(images/nav_services.gif);
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    If you actually insert the image into the page, as you have
    done, it
    WILL push the text links down because its ABOVE them on the
    page.

  • Text Color in disabled text field

    Hi,
    In our application, The default rendered text in disabled fields is not visible properly. In order to improve the visibility we applied different color using content style for those fields.
    We did see the change in the fields after applying content-style. But it is a painful job to apply the content-style for each input field.
    Is there a way to configure default text color in ADF which is applicable for all the disabled fields in the application?
    We also tried the option of setting the color using css in following manner:
    af|inputText::content{color:#333333;}
    But this didn't have any impact on the text color.
    Please let us know if we can achieve this through a single point fix in the code.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Dimitar,
    The :rtl is a special case, as is :ltr and :alias. These are always placed at the end and are purely for the engine, they do not generate any style class on the DOM whereas other peudo classes generate a p_AF<state> class on the MAIN DOM element, which is why you must place the class on them. For example:
    af|inputText:disabled::content becomes
    In the CSS: af_inputText.p_AFDisabled af_inputText_content
    In the HTML <span class="af_inputText p_AFDisabled"><input class="af_inputText_content">

  • Different text color options?

    What is the difference between changing text color through the drop-down color swatch options and the recolor artwork option?

    Under what circumstances?

  • Unable to change text color (from Black)

    For the next person who blunders into this and searches for an answer...
    If you have a Condition Code whose decoration is a custom color, and you delete the color, the text goes to Black, and you cannot change the color of text bearing that CC - with local color override, or a Character Format that applies a color (I didn't try Paragraph format).
    I am copying formatted content in from an older document that doesn't conform to current templates. I had deleted unused colors in the source, but not unused Condition Codes, one of which rode in with some text. What was controlled by the CC in the old doc is now controlled by a color Character format, except that when applied, the text stayed stubornly black (until I nuked the CC).

    Dear FrameMaker 7.1/Unix user,
    This does not surprise me. As long as the condition is applied and "Show Condition Formats" is active FrameMaker will show the Condition Color (now: Black) and not any underlying text colors.

  • Why am I unable to change text color from black in LR5 book module?

    Why am I unable to change text color from black in LR5 Book Module?

    I'm assuming you clicked on the color patch besides the word <Character> to open the color picker window.
    At the right side of this window there is a vertical bar that has 2 horizontal black lines at the bottom.
    This is actually a slider. Pull it upwards with the color picker and color will appear in the window.

  • How to change text color in CS4

    Hey everyone. I know I'm not fluent in Dreamweaver, but had DW8 before upgrading to CS4 and I'm pretty handy with it. In version 8, if I wanted to change a text color, I simply highlighted the text and picked a color. No worries.
    However in CS4, I seem to be only have that ability in my CSS properties, (not HTML properties). Then when I try to change the color, it gives me a dialogue box asking questions such as "new CSS", "for this page only", etc. and I don't understand what I'm supposed to do.
    Can someone tell me in a user-friendly way (step-by-step), how to simply change a text color on a page? I went to the help topics and it said to use the 'color-picker', but that takes me back to my original problem.
    I'm either doing something terribly wrong, or ADOBE has made a simple task into brain surgery!
    Thanks in advance for assistance!
    Mark

    Beginning with CS3, DW became more compliant with W3C web standards which call for content (HTML) being separate from style (CSS).  Thus you now have two properties boxes: one for HTML content and another for CSS styles.
    Create a few CSS classes using the CSS style panel.
    CSS:
    .red {color: red}
    .blue {color: blue}
    .green {color: green}
    Highlight a word or sentence on your page and apply the appropriate class to your HTML.
    HTML:
    <p class="red"> this is red text</p>
    <p class="blue"> this is blue text with <span class="green">GREEN WORDS</span> in the middle</p>

  • IPhoto quits when I try and change text color in book

    When editing a new iPhoto book (version 5), I was changing the font color. As I clicked on the text color icon in the fonts window (show fonts from the iPhoto menu), Iphoto just quit. It also lost all my formating thst I had for my pics. I tried the font color change in other applications using 'Font Book' and the same icon works without crashing the application.
    This is a new thing, because I have had no trouble with the first book I made.

  • In Acrobat 8 Professional, how can I change the typewriter text color?

    I tried selecting the text then pressing Ctrl-E but the text properties toolbar that appears says, "No current selection." I tried this method another user suggested:
    "1. Use the text box tool to type some text, then select the text
    2. Use the properties bar, ctrl-E, or View > Toolbars > Properties Bar, to change the color of the font
    3. Highlight the text, not the text box and copy the text.
    4. Click on the typewriter tool and type some text.
    5. Click on the comments menu and select "Show Comments List", in the comments list you should see the typewriter entry from step 4 above.
    6. Highlight the typewriter text in the comments window then paste the copied text from step 3 above.  It should paste with the color selected in the properties bar.
    7. Right click an area of the typewriter entry in the comments list, and choose properties.
    8. On the General tab check the "Make Properties Default" Check box and click OK.
    All new typewriter entries should now use this new font color. "
    But when I get to STEP #2 the text properties toolbar that appears has all the options to edit the text shaded so I cannot select the option to change the text color. Any help would be appreciated!

    There really aren't default outgoing font settings. They are only there for viewing. A workaround I have seen mentioned is to start you signature with the font style you want to use. When you start your message, click in that first part of your signature.
    Something like
