Dropped Iphone in a bit of water now not acting right
Can anyone recommend what I do next? I have an appt. at the Genius bar tomorrow. Some of the apps works some semi work.
Well if you have powered it up, it is too late for the rice now. The damage is done.
About your only alternative now is to take it back to Apple for a replacement. Since that is classified as damage you will have to pay for the replacement.

My photoshop is now not acting right. Can I uninstall then reinstall it?
I updated my photoshop and now it freezes when I try to do several things. One is to convert to black and white in application. If it's not freezing, it's cropping the far right side of the photo off. Can I uninstall then reinstall the program?
You should be able to.

Try resetting the device by pressing the Home and Sleep/Wake button for several seconds, the device should then boot up.

My iphone has turned off and is now not working. I plugged it into my computer and it said it was in recovery mode and i had to restore it to fix it. Is there any way i can fix this problem without loosing all my files and photos through restoring it?
There's only one thing you can do: make an appointment with Apple genius at the Apple retail store for a out of warranty replacement.

HT1937 My iphone 4s fell in salt water and not working. What can i do?
My iphone 4s fell in salt water and not working. What can i do? My location is Russia. Is it possible to send my device to apple-USA for repair?
No, you would have to send it to someone you know in the USA and have them take it to any AppleStore and do an out-of-warranty replacement for $199 USD. Apple will not accept a shipment from your and the warranty is not international.
You can take it to a 3rd party repair shop and have them open it and clean it. But you need to do it quicly saltwater will very quickly damage the components without that phone. -
as above???
Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!
Thank you for your help and replying to this. Guess I made my own issue! -
Iphone 5 and my lighting charger is not connecting right
I have tried different charger cords and they both don't work, if i wiggle it it will charge but if I move it a little it will not charge. Is there anything I can do or do I have to get a replacement?
Most likely a Replacement iPhone from Apple. Make Genius reservation and take both iPhone and Original Lightning Cable to Apple as both are covered by the 1 year Warranty.

For a few months Mozilla was crashing at least once a day, and a few days ago it started going completely out of hand, crashing, closing unexpectedly every now and then. Since yesterday night it hasn't worked at all, i wasn't able to open any singlel web-site. I have Windows 7 on my laptop, updated McAfee (no viruses detected) and fix-it utilities (optimized 100%). I never got crash ID, can't open troubleshooting page as Mozilla wouldn't even open completely.
Can you get your home page?
If you can't even get your home page, I suggest creating a new Firefox profile. In addition to bypassing current add-ons and custom settings, it should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings (profile folder) in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. In Windows 7, your profile folder is in here:
C:\Users\''username''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
You can copy that entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.
Next, with Firefox closed, start up in the Profile Manager as described in the article [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles]. Any time you want to switch profiles, close Firefox and return to this dialog.
If the new profile browses normally, you can migrate key settings like bookmarks from your problem profile to the new one. See [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
Hope this helps. -
IOS 6 update-now not working right
My iphone will not connect to icloud. It keeps saying verification failed-server is invalid
Experiencing similar problems with both me and my wife's iPhone 4S's. My phone's speaker was muffled until I played a song, then it seemed to work ok. My wife's will not work at all except for when you adjust sound settings (e.g. changing the alert sound). Then it works only during the "test" and reverts back to its broken state.
P.S. And yes, I've rebooted both numerous times. This has no obvious affect. -

You have fallen for the great Verizon Wireless Lie, most customers don't use over 2Gb and its a better plan, and unlimited is unsustainable yada yada yada.
However your choices were getting new devices for cheap so if you paid full price for your device at $700 each, you would have kept unlimited and paid no $30 upgrade fee. Per line.
Now add up the additional cost of that data usage and it is way over the cost of what paying full price would have cost you.
and being in a contract with an early termination fee it all adds up.
Verizon claims unlimited data is unsustainable, but you can see its sustainable only when you get charged mucho bucks in $10-$15 overages per GB.

Dropped iPhone in water? Read my experience - you may not need to replace!
I just wanted to let people know what happened to me when I dropped my phone in a sink full of water. First, I just want to say I really think Apple is great. The said they would "repair" my broken phone for only $250 which meant that they would just give me a brand new phone in exchange for mine. They don't have to do that but it's pretty cool that they do. The main reason I am writing this is that my phone is working perfectly after being submerged for a full second! I freaked out and got really upset when it happened and there was no help to be found online, so I'm writing this so that other people don't throw their phones away without at least trying to get it working. Here are the things I did, I'm not sure what did the trick maybe just the combination:
Sat night dropped phone in water,
dried it off right away and "tapped" the bottom of the phone against a paper towel for about 20 minutes. Water kept leaking out of the speaker holes.
Then the phone freaked out for about 3 hours. My husband checked it when he got home and it was working almost perfectly. The on/off button didn't work and it kept telling me about a non-compatible device, but other than that it was working normally. Oh and there was a splotch of water under the screen in the corner.
I decided to let the battery die and let it dry out before I plugged it into the wall charger. I let it dry out until Tuesday night and when I plugged it in it was working normally like nothing had ever happened!! I voided the warranty but I don't care I'm just glad I still have my phone. If you have just dropped your phone in the water don't give up on it!
-LindsayWell, I have a good experience to report. Or is it a bad experience with a good outcome? I dropped my iPhone in the toilet this morning. Took me a second to realize what had happened but then I moved faster than I have in years. The case I use is net on the sides and bottom so offered no protection. I immediately dried it and blew in every opening I found, tried it to see if it worked, ran to read these Discussions to see what to do, and discovered I shouldn't try it to see if it works! So I powered it off. It had been giving me error messages like something wasn't compatible, and it would blink on and off. The screen looked fine, I had my calendar and photos but I'd lost the Internet connection, and Edge, and had no AT&T service bars.
Someone (haven't yet found it again) suggested trying a hair dryer, which I did on COOL cycle. I held it a bit away, alternated pointing it toward each opening, and did that for about 15 minutes or so. I then put it back on the dock, charged it, and synced it. While on the Dock, it would go on and off, ask if I wanted to power off, but I synced everything, left it on the dock charging until it was full and now ... it's fine.
I should have powered it off right away; dodged a bullet there; but I believe the hair dryer, on cool, for a steady period of time helped speed up getting the moisture out, as opposed to letting it sit for a week drying naturally.
Everything is working. Whew!! It won't be going in that room with me again!
Will post again if anything changes. -
My iPhone 4S accidentally fell into a very shallow bit of water. The phone was wet, but worked afterwards for a short bit. Now it's not working, so I called and got a replacement phone coming. Same exact phone. Can I use the old Sim card in the new phone without harming anything? I don't know if the sim card got messed up or not, but I had a lot of pictures and messages and my contacts on my phone, and I assume these were on the sim card or am I wrong? I just wan to know if I can use the old sim card if it's still working in the new phone that is coming, as long as there was no damage to it? Thanks
I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. I just hope my stuff comes back on the new replacement phone once I get it up and running. Again, thanks to everybody for the edumucation. -
So the full situation is the my iphone 4s was a on a table that got knocked over last night so it dropped and got a little wet. Now it is not working at all, it was fully chargd I have it plugged in but my computer is not even recognizing that something is plugged in, the screen is black and it is doing absolutley nothing
Seems obvious that the iphone is seriously damaged from either the dropping impact or the water or both. Your choices are: (a) repair [Apple Store or a commercial company that specializes in this], or (b) new iphone.
For (b), if you restore from your backup (these backups are typically done every time you plug your iphone in to your computer, when the phone is working of course; or from the cloud if you were using icloud) to a new iphone, it will essentially be just like the old one was. That option shows up as "restore" when you connect a new phone to your computer, or you can simiarly restore form icloud if you were using icloud.
Water or impact damage to an iphone is usually something that cannot be resolved through online discussion groups. You need to take the phone to someone who understands how to open up the phone and inspect for damage and give you an assessment on repair.
For me, I'd get the new iphone (which can be expensive) because I expect that the old damaged one, even if "repaired or refurbished," will never work 100% properly again. -
Dropped Iphone 4 in water, won't boost past white apple!
Hi,
Dropped Iphone 4 in the sink full of water, fool enough to not turn it off after. Now its been a month an it still won't boost past the white apple. It doesn't react to me pushing the top button, but if i plug it into my mac the white apple will show in intervals of 10 seconds over and over.
Any idea how I can fix this?kbergen wrote:
I live in Europe, Scandinavia. Is this replacement program only for US?
No, but is only available at an Apple store or through Apple directly.
More than likely your logic board is toast...perhaps your digitizer as well...most expensive parts in an iPhone. You can try a third-party repair shop, but if it were me, I wouldn't invest the money. -
