Left it to dry out for a few weeks. and tried turning it on, it only turns on when i connect it to my istation. doesnt respond when connected to computer at all. on the istation i managed to check my myusic.. which has all been lost. and ive seen three different icons on it..
Icons:

2: low battery (and it doent charge)
3: a folder
I was going to send it in to see if it could be repaired.. but i dont know the exact purchase date.. so i couldnt continue on with the process..
anyideas??
Thanks.

look at the back of your ipod
look for the serial #
go to http://www.apple.com/support/
then look for where it says
"about your support coverage"on the right hand corner somewhere in the middle of the page
type in the serial #, and theyll tell u when u purchased it.

Since you aren't using any Apple products, then, you really should take this question up on a web site oriented to the Pantech. AT&T maintains a forum here where you may be able to find help:

    I dropped iPod nano (4g and 5g) in water...what do I do ?

You should placed the soaked iPod in a sealed container of dry rice for about a week while changing out the rice daily.  Do NOT attempt to power it on before then.
If you have already, there is a good chance it could have fried some of the iPod's internal components.

  • Dropped Ipod Touch...

Is a dropped ipod touch(cracked screen) covered under warranty? I am thinking no. If not, where is best place get replaced? Apple vs. 3rd Party?

It your touch shows such damage (dents) it will not be repaired under the Apple warranty. Sorry.

  • Dropped IPOD in water now what?

Accidently dropped ipod in water now what do i need to do?

Place the iPod in a sealed container of uncooked rice for a week and change the rice daily. The see if it works. If not Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price:

Do not use or charge until dry.

  • Dropped iPod in water, dropped iPod in water

dropped iPod in water. How do i fix?

FIrst, as to the response above....once you open those guts you void any and all of your warranty. SO know that before you to ripping into your device.
Second, an iPod isn't like a laptop inside, it's not simple modular bits that you can take apart and reassemble. The screen itself can be a complex device and if you don't get things exactly right, you will break it.
I would not recommend doing what Nan suggested unless you are very skilled with electronics and willing to accept all the consequences....for example, if you tear into it and it doesnt work, your chances of being eligible for an out of warranty replacement are greatly diminished if not gone all together.

  • Make a requistion drop into autocreate pool for a new supplier

Hi we have a requirement identified that if a requisition is over a certain amount (£250) and it has been raised against an existing supplier for it to drop into the autocreate pool and not be sent out to the supplier isntantly.
i had an idea of creating a CPA with a approved limit of 250 but this does not make it drop into the pool?
    any ideas?
    cheers

    Hi
You may wish to change the title of this post as collapsible panels and drop down menus are quite different thing, (on is possible the other not).
For the pure css menu see - http://ago.tanfa.co.uk/css/examples/menu/tutorial-h.html.

  • My ipod got dropped in the pool will it still work?

My ipod fell in the pool and right now i have it soaking in rice. it still won't turn on and i even tried to blow dry it on low. the ipod wont turn on. Any help?

If it was pure water your iPod fell into, you might have gotten lucky, but I'd wager the pool is chlorinated and your iPod is dead.
The thing is, pure or distilled water is not a very good cunductor of electricity because there are no free ions to carry electrons, and this is especially true for low voltages like those from an iPod battery.  Adding impurities like Chlorine, table salt, sea salt, bases like caustic soda (Lye), or acids like sulfuric acid (used in car batteries), will dramatically increase the conductivity which increases the amount of current flow.
Thus, when the iPod is immersed in this solution (which we can now call an electrolyte) electrons from the battery can go to places they aren't meant to, ruining the device in the process.
Another problem with immersing an iPod, or any device that has an LCD or Liquid Crystal Display, is that by itself, water will ruin the display.

  • Dropped ITouch in pool...

I dropped my Itouch in a pool and everyhting on it works except it has to be plugged in to some source in order to work. As soon as unplugged it shuts off.
Should I mess with getting a new bettery put in or buy a new one...
Or is there any way to fix this?

The digitizer is probably broken you might have to replace the screen but your iPod Touch warranty is void because it was submerged in water you will need to find a third party person who will replace the screen/digitizer depending on your device

  • Dropped iPod, white screen 60gb model.

    Hello,
First let me say I have done extensive research and have not found any viable solution to my problem. I dropped my iPod from about 5 feet off the ground. After I picked it up it had a white screen. I immediately tried to reset it, and it reset still with a white screen, but this time I could see all the menus. The only thing is, there is no text on any of the menus. I can scroll and get around through the choppy looking screens, I can even play music if I click enough buttons, but there is no text and the entire screen is choppy looking. You can even see the blue highlight showing which tab you are scrolling over, but alas there is no text to show which menus they are. On top of it, there are a lot of vertical lines in between the menu options. At reset, there are also 3 vertical transparent lines unequally spaced apart, all of which overlay the blank white screen.
I've tried resetting it a ton of times, letting the battery drain for 24 hours then turning it on, still didn't work.
The only thing I have not done is an attempt at restoring it. I am afraid if I restore it, it could screw it up even further to the point where I wont be able to use it at all.
    Any advice is appreciated.

The same thing just happened to me about 15 minutes ago. I dropped my husband's Nano. It landed smack on it's 'back'. The screen is mainly white with blackish gray dots and streaks. I can't read anything but it plays.
Were you ever able to fix yours...or do I have to tell my husband that I broke his new ipod?

  • Dropped Ipod nano 4th gen

ok last night I dropped my Ipod nano 4th gen without a case on my tile floor. It was about a 3-4 feet drop.
So today I was running and than after a couple mins of running with the song still playing my ipod buttons froze, nothing worked the screen remained black but the music still played. than after a few seconds trying to make the screen show back up my whole volume limit raised up maxed with a weird twisted sound to it. also, every now and than my songs would pause than play again without me doing anything to it.
I also was running in cold weather, is that the case?
Could of me dropping my ipod caused this to happen?
or can dropping my ipod cause any problems at all?
    thanks

You posted this in the MacBook forum.
Try posting it in the iPod forum. You will get much better feedback.

  • Dropped Ipod Mini only turns on when on hold

I dropped my Ipod Mini down the stairs of my two story house on accident. Now it wont turn on unless I have it on hold which isn't good because then I cant play any songs...because it's on hold and wont move. The instant I take it off of hold in turns off. It WILL however play songs on my Ipod Home but I can't choose what song I want to play. It will just start at the top of the songs and play A-Z. The only way I can get it to play songs on the Home is because I'm controling it from the home not the ipod...if that makes sense. So am I just S.O.L.? Should I just replace my ipod (oh ya and I've had it way past the warranty) or is there hope?
    Mac OS X   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

My goodness.. that's really unfortunate. But, with the drop and everything, it kind of sounds like a hardware problem rather than software. But I'm really not sure, so you might want to bring it to a store like circuit city or best buy or an apple store and ask about it.
I don't know, see what others here say before anything though, because you never know about those $50 per question policies they have at those stores.

  • Dropped iPod case repair

My iPod decidet to get out of my pocket(breast pocket!:O) when i was jumping and hit the ground(gravity's fault! :D). It was a hard punch but it's still working. I've also got picture of it: http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/6029/img6793yc5.jpg
Bought it 1 month ago, and it's kind of anoyeing that it looks like that. You know that allkind of dust can get into my iPod from that crack there! :P Also know that warrant won't repair or do anything with it. I was intrested that is it possible to change that metal cover back there? I tryed to phush it to the right place but it won't stay there, where i want to.
A day after drop(today :P) bought new protective case for my iPod.
Actually there were 2 other things i like to mention(maybe it "has to be" like this).
    1.Harddisk makes weird nose(not spinning sound)when i start a vide or songs
    2.I can see backlight gleam where i shouldn't. It's about half cm from screen(it's 1/5" i guess :o))
Well... "things" happen. xD I still like Apple poducts!

To possibly help with your dust problem, because you are right you could definitely get things in there that shouldn't be in there. If you go to like a Target, Radio Shack basically anywhere that sells iPods and iPod equipment buy yourself a nice iPod case. The brand case I have is called "incase" its like a stretchy kinda nylon feeling case with a nice spin wheel cover, that might help keep dust out of it. If you search around there are lots of different kinds of cases out there you could get to put it in. As for replacing the metal cover, I don't know anything about that subject. Your hard drive making a weird noise could be from dropping it. Same with the backlight gleam.

  • Dropped iPod...screen is white.

Hi.. I have a third gen touch and i was playing music in the shower and it dropped from a high distance and fell into the water. I quickly picked it up and set it aside. After finishing up in the shower i immediatley put it in rice. I tried to turn the screen on and all I saw was white. The screen was white, but lit. I held it up to my ear to see if there was any music playing and i heard a faint buzzing sound... What do i do? the screen is just black now and the buzzing is still going... Help! I cannot afford a new one,,

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
