Dropped my itouch and now it wont connect to itunes, help?

^that says it all. it wont turn on and it wont connect to itunes. any help is much appreciated.  it's an 8gb 3rd gen

Try the following to get iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod via iTunes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Place the iPod in recovery mode. For how see:

Howver, droppong the iPod may have caused hardware damage.
