Dropped my phone now blue vertical lines

I dropped my iphone 4s and the screen is not cracked, but it only shows blue vertical lines. Help!

First try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.  If that helps, great.
But it probably will not and you should then go to the Apple store genius bar.  Be sure and make a backup first, in iCloud is best, so that you do not lose content if the decision is to replace the unit.  If you have an iCloud backup, that can be restored by the techs while you wait.

  • I dropped my phone, now there are lines with every row of graphics.

As I said, I have dropped my phone... And if you have the phone, you know that the icons are all in lines and such. Well, it's like someone smeared the icons... And it's not in those places only, it's with everything with graphics. If I go to watch something, the whole screen is 'smeared'. I'm not sure that Apple will cover this! Any home solutions? Thanks.

Hello, I downloaded an ntfs systemfile from tuxera and used it to convert a usb stick so I could put more than the fat32 4gb on, my Imac froze a while after so I turned it off the on and now I have blue vertical lines on boot up and the a white screen with lots of tine blue symbols after, mouse pointer moves but thats about it.
Have used R and cmd to get a menu up but once I choose one of the four options my mouse is rendered useless and I cant get any further, have downloaded, to another usb stick recovery disk assisstant and am trying to use that in conjunction with the lion option on the previously mentioned screen, computer was responding really slowly and has now frozen on the terms of software license agreement (maybe the last hurdle!) can anyone pleeeeeease help!!!!!??????

It's likely that the boot drive is failing, or that there's some other hardware fault. Run the Apple Hardware Test.

Even if the test is negative, you should make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested more thoroughly.

  • What is that medium dark blue vertical line doing there?

I went againt my grain and just hit the Return to Last Save in iWeb so now I have my old Welcome page but with no Counter. I adjusted the image a little bit, to improve the look, making sure that there were no blank white spaces at the top or the bottom of the scroll. All appears well. However:
QUESTION: What is that dark blue vertical line on the right edge of and within/inside the window? Sometimes when I was manipulating/moving the pink flower picture, that blue line would blink into view and then blink out. Should I care that that line is there and not sitting on top of the window edge -- that it is inside/within the window edge?

It sounds like your object is centering with respect
to another object on your page.
    Will
Will, that seems odd to me, because all I have is that picture of the pink flower on that page. It is my Welcome page and there are is no nav bar at the top of the page because I deselected it in the Inspector thing.
So if you tell me that the line is centring with respect to another object......
then that is nettlesome because to my mind there is nothing else on the page except that picture which completely covers the page.
Oh wait. There is a skinny rectangular box with text inside: "Welcome to Lorna's Page. Enter" Something like that; I can't remember now because I've changed it several times.

  • Smartwatch blue vertical line

Has anyone else experienced a blue vertical line after powering up the sony smartwatch? Evereytime i power it on, a blue visible line appears. I have talked with customer support and opened a service request #.

Unfortunately this is more likely a hardware issue with the display and as such I would advise returning it for assessment by an authorised repair agent.

  • Qosmio G30: blue vertical lines and blue screen crash dump

    I have a Qosmio G30, Model No. PQG32C-AV605E with BIOS Version 3.40.
I want to update to 3.90 but I cannot enter Windows.
How do I update BIOS with no Windows available?
    Is there a DOS utility?
If so, please send it and I will download it or send me an email on where to download.
The G30 I have has blue vertical lines across the screen when the machine starts up in VGA mode upon entering Windows for the first time.
But the machine can't enter windows, it crashes and dumps and restarts before that.
I replaced the RAM with new RAM but it had no effect.
I ran the diagnostics utility and the hard drives are OPTIMAL in RAID 1 so no errors there.
The reinstall of Windows went smoothly: I just can't get into VGA mode without lines.
I was told by Toshiba tech support that a BIOS upgrade would fix it.
    Thanks for any helps.

I made best experience with Toshiba support. The ASP guys were always helpful
I can understand that you are upset but this is cannot be a explanation for you last replay
Fact is that you can update the BIOS ONLY running windows OS because you can download ONLY win-based BIOS!
If you are not able to do this (no matter why) then you will need to get in contact with local ASP (service provider) in your country who could update the BIOS using a traditional BIOS version.
But in my personal opinion the vertical lines are not related to any BIOS issue and I think a BIOS update would not help you in my opinion its more hardware issue as an software issue.
Therefore you should get in contact with an local ASP in order to discover what's part is affected.
    Good luck

  • Strange Blue Vertical Lines All Over Anything that White on the Screen

My screen always showed blue vertical lines on anything that is white on my Macbook Pro screen, but when I moved the screen back and forth a few times the blue lines just gone. It always happens when I took the Macbook Pro from a bag and waked it up and once and a while during normal usage. I took picture when the blue lines happen but I couldn't post it on the forum.
I sent my Macbook Pro to local Apple Center but they couldn't find the problem. They has checked the screen connector for me but the problem still exist.
Anyone, any idea what causing this?

    BJ_pkt
Don't get me wrong and I don't think anyone like to have dead pixel, do you?
I understand the LCD screen could come with dead pixel. I can live with a few dead pixels and I have no problem except any dead pixel from USAGE. With the new notebook or LCD screen I have a choice to check for the dead pixel and other false before I take any of them back home and if there any dead pixel happen after I am start using them I can accept it.
The thing that difficult for me to accept is the replaced LCD came with the dead pixel (my previous screen didn't have any dead pixel) and I don't have any other choice but to accept it. I feel like I have been forced to accept it.
My perception on Apple product quality still good. I will continue buy Apple product. But I disappoint in Apple service policy (not quality as I mention before, sorry) because I expect they would be better or different from others.
ps. They changed my screen because they don't have a replacement only for screen cable so they replace the whole screen.

  • Recently dropped i phone 4 down the toilet, screen now has vertical lines on when i fire up??

I recently accidently dropped my iphone down the toilet, within seconds i retrieved but it shut down, i put in a tub with riceand left for at least 24 hrs, although i turned on and still seemed to have some moisture as the camera lens showed water in it, the screen then came on with a thick white line down the centre, I am assuming this is the white apple sign which comes on when started up, then this cahnged to just a full screen of vertical black lines (like a barcode).  I had a passlock on the phone which i managed to unlock as it appears that everything is working behind the screen, just hoping its just an LCD problem and maybe a new screen but dont want to wast my money if not going to work??? I have upgraded and now have an Iphone 5s. I am gutted as there wasnt a mark on the iphone4 and would love to be able to have it fully functional again, any help would be appreciated...

Replacing the LCD alone won't cut it. The internal electronic components got wet and you powered the iPhone back on while the internal components were still wet. 24 hours wasn't near enough time.

  • Single Blue Vertical Line

    Hi,
My 92 day old iMac has just developed a thin (1 pixel wide I think) blue line about 3" from the left of the display. It comes and goes and crosses all windows.
Has anyone else had a problem like this or have any ideas what's causing it?
    Cheers All

iMac Intel Duo 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Well mine went in last week, on Tuesday, and was ready to collect on Friday. Nice new display, no nasty lines, excellent....so I thought. On Friday afternoon, trying to grab a quick photo of my GreatDane hanging over my shoulder to see what I was doing, Photo Booth refused to open, saying the camera wasn't attached. I rang the service centre and they said it seemed they hadn't reconnected the iSight, so could I "pop" it back. "Popping" back is an 80 mile round trip, but I duly took it back this morning, and an hour later was told that the logic board they'd fitted last week was faulty! They'll order a new one, it has to come from Holland, and they'll let me know when it's in so I can do another trip to get sorted! Am almost wishing I'd put up with the lines!

  • The screen on my iPhone 4S won't turn on, it only goes black with blue vertical lines

So my iphone 4s can recieve texts and i can use the touch screen but the screen itself is black with horizontal blue stripes, which means that i cannot see anything that is happening on my phone. Everything is working other then the screen... Can anyone give me any ideas on how to fix this?

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset   >  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Restoring  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you try all these steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • Flashing blue vertical lines ??

Since upgrading to itunes 7 & firmware 1.2, my movies & music videos have flashing blue bars when being played, but they disappear when you bring up the volume bar and re-appear when it disappears, its possible the firmware is currupted ? but i-tunes won't let me re-flash the firmware. can anyone help ??

I know this isn't what you want to hear but the symptoms you describe all sound like moisture damage. Thailand is a very humid country and I've had one or two phones die on me while going from an AirConned hotel room to the outside world.
Have you checked the moisture sensors? Theres one in the headphone jack socket right at the bottom, it SHOULD look silver (and you'll probably need a light to see it properly) theres also one on the dock connector. This one is really hard to see but you have to kinda look at the back cover by looking through the bottom part of the dock connector.
Both of these should look silver or white, if either one of them is red then theres definite water damage and if the device is in warrantee then they wont do anything if those sensors are triggered.
One thing you can try is the rice method, (and since your in thailand a 7/11 should have some rice) just pour it into a pot, stick your iPhone in there and leave it overnight. The idea is that the rice will suck out moisture.. It doesn't always work, and this may be a completely different fault but it really does sounds like moisture..
    Hope this helps

Please don't ever unplug a Mac that is on and connected  to the internet, you can really mess up your Mac.  Always go to the Menu bar and select either restart or shut down or hold the  control+option+command keys down while pressing the power button to shut down.  To reboot either use the option under the Menu bar, or use control+command and the power switch.
You may be able to fix your problem by  resetting the PRAM
