Dropped phone in toilet and it works?
So i dropped my phone in the toilet last weekend and let it sit in rice for a week. When i took it out, it wouldn't charge enough to start up all day, but then suddenly started charging and worked completely fine all day. When i went to charge it tonight, it did the same thing where it wouldn't charge enough to power up even though it had 45% charge when i plugged it in. Any suggestions about what's wrong with it?
The device is more than likely damaged internally (corrosion). Once a device is exposed to liquid it isnt certain thats its going to work even though you let it set for a week in rice. if your device doesnt have AppleCare + its going to be $149 for an out of warranty replacement due to accidential damage not being covered under the 1 year warranty. Sorry to hear that!

I just hooked up Internet at my house today and I'm trying to connect to it on my IPhone and IPad but neither are connecting. My grandma's Android phone is connected and is working just fine. Why isn't any of my apple products working?
Since you give no clue as to what make/model/version WiFi router you are using or how you have it configured it's hard to comment.

No Phone Service - Internet and TV Work
It's been 36 hours now and my FiOS Phone Service is still not working. I called customer service more times than I can count and they haven't been able to do anything. Nor have they called back when they promised to. I finally got a tehcnician out here to make a service call.
He was here for 4 1/2 hours. The reason he was here for so long was because he had to wait for his service calls to his office to be answered. He spent at least 3 hours on hold for his tech support. He replaced all of the FiOS equipment in our house as instructed by the techs he was dealing with, and our phone still doesn't work. He finally said there was no point in his staying here and left.
I'm now on hold with tech support, again. They've given me plenty of appologies, but no answers.
I left Comcast a year ago because Verizon FiOS was cheaper and supposed to be superior. It may be cheaper, but it is definitely not better. In 7 years with Comcast, I never lost my phone service. Not once. When I left Comcast, the "Retention Specialist" said "You'll be back." It looks like he was right. I'm voiding the year I have left on my contract with Verizon for their failure to provide service and returning to Comcast as soon as they can get me connected.Hi web_lansdale,

I recently dropped my White Iphone 4s down a toilet on a night out!!!
I quickly picked it up and took it home and dryed in off and placed it in a bowl of rice and a few days later everything was fine and working just like normal apart from some water under the screen.
Also the Wi-Fi option on my iphone just isn't displayed and greyed out.
I have also recently updated the software on the phone to the new 5.1.1 which i have seen there has been problems with about the wi-fi dropping and not being displayed.
I would just like some advice if anyone else has had this problem and if which i think it probably is, the hardware has become loose inside the phone and its not the software. The WiFi radio is dead. You cooked it. Make an appointment at the genius bar and take your credit card. If you did not purchase AppleCare+ with the phone, a replacement will cost you US$199.

Dropped phone in water and it still works.
I dropped my phone in water for 2 seconds and it still works but should i keep it in rice just in case or can i continue using it
Water and electronics don't mix.
Usually when there is water damage, you power off the phone and let it sit in a bag of uncooked rice fro at least 4 to 5 days.
The water damage is what is wrong with your phone.
You can get an out of warranty iphone at the Apple store. -
Dropped phone now screen won't work
Hi, I bought a Blackberry Pearl around 2 weeks ago. Today, for the first time, I dropped it from a height of 3 feet and the screen went white. I removed the battery because I could not turn it off with the button, when I tried to turn it back on, the screen would not respond. I get a black screen now, however, the cellphone still works, I still get calls. What do you recommend I do because where I am from, the people who can actually repair the blackberrys work for private companies and I purchased my phone online. First question, can the blackberry still be saved? Second question, is the repair process simple? Would a new screen do the deed? I hope someone can assist me with this I was deeply shocked when I realized the phone didn't work the fall was nothing out of the ordinary and the phone was brand new, I feel ripped off .
danielp48 wrote:

It may have been a simple fall, but depending on how / where the phone "hit" the floor could have caused damage. Remember that electronic devices are fickle and sensitive to minor "shocks", so your phone very well could have fallen on that "magic spot" that made it break.
As for getting it fixed, you don't mention where you are, but you may want to search for an online repair shop that you can send your phone to. -

I don't know what you're talking about regarding games on your phone being hacked... if you have hacked your iPhone, or have illegally downloaded hacked games, you need to immediately restore your iPhone to factory defaults.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414 -
So, my phone decided to stop working while installing the new Apple update. This ***** someone fix this.
Hello ideeclare,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You can start your troubleshooting with this article:
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Specifically the "iPhone is unresponsive and displays the Apple Logo" under "General phone and connectivity issues".
If it is still not resolved and other options in this article do not apply, see the bottom, "Issue not resolved".

I hear you and wanted to reply but they closed the feature on your post....
Same problem here, mine is a repeat. I wonder if they have some kind of central office structural failure affecting all of us (landline or fios)....

SG-300 28P switches problem with VLAN Data and Voice, working all the time as Voice VLAN
Hi Everyone,
Thank you very much for your help in advance. I’m pulling my hair to fix the problem.
I just got the new SG-300 28P switches. My Bios ordered for me. I did not know how it runs until now... not an IOS based. I really do not know how to configure it.
I have 2 VLAN are Data and Voice.
- Data VLAN ID is 2 IP 192.168.2.X/255.255.255.0
- Voice VLAN ID is 200 IP 192.168.22.X/255.255.255.0
- I created two vlans, in switch, Data and Voice.
- On the port number 28, it is trunk by default, so I add Data vlan ID 2 tagged.
- On the port number 26, it is trunk by default, so I add Voice vlan ID 200 tagged.
- On the port number 27, I add Data vlan ID 2 tagged for Data vlan out.
- Port settings No.1
I set it up as Trunk with Data vlan 2 untagged, and 200 Tagged (voice vlan). I plugged in a phone with a pc attached. But the PC will get to the vlan 200 to get the DHCP address, but no from vlan 2. The Phone works with correct vlan ip.
- Port settings No.2
Trunk with vlan 1UP, 2T, and 200T. The phone is even worse. Would never pick up any IP from DHCP.
- Port settings No.3
Access with 200U...of course the phone will work... and the PC could not get to its own vlan. Instead, the PC got an ip from the voice vlan. Not from VLAN 2.
I have Linksys phone I’m not sure if this help.
For more information I setup in switch,
- enable voice vlan
- set the port on auto voice vlan
- enable LLDP-MED globally
- create a network policy to assign VLAN 200
- assign this network policy to the port the phone is connected to.
I hope this information help to help me to setup Data and Voice vlans, to plug the phone to work with vlan Voice 200 (IP rang 192.168.22.X), from phone to Pc and pc work as Data vlan 2 (IP rang 192.168.2.X).I just got done setting up voice VLANs on an SF 300-24P and verified working. This was working with Cisco 7900 series phones connected to a Cisco UC setup.
Here's my sample config.
Note that I edited this by hand before posting, so doing a flat out tftp restore probably won't work. However, this should give you a clue. Also, don't take this as 100% accurate or correct. I've only been working with these things for about a week, though I've worked with the older Linksys SRW switches for a couple of years. I'm a CCNP/CCDP.
VLAN 199 is my management VLAN and is the native VLAN on 802.1q trunks.
VLAN 149 is the data/computer VLAN here.
VLAN 111 is the voice/phone VLAN here.
VLAN 107 does nothing.

Should have waited at least 4 more days.

I dropped my phone in the toilet and now is not working. What should I do?
Put in in a bag of dry rice for a few days and see if that drys it out. Don't be surprised if it doesn't. You may need to take it to an Apple Store. They will offer you a replacement at a reduced price
Hope that helps -
i dropped my phone down the toilet and after drying it out for 3 days, it will turn on but turn itself off after several minutes, please help!

A few months back I Dropped my iPhone 4 and I cracked my screen and now i cant unlock my phone due to touch screen not working plus there are blurred lines across the screen and I can't see anything that it displays.
Now when I try too connect my iPhone 4 to iTunes on my computer at home an error message comes up saying that I have to unlock my iPhone 4 for it to communicate to my device.
But the problem is that I can't unlock my iPhone 4 because I'm unable to see the key pad and my touch screen no longer responds when I touch it.
I just want to reset my iPhone 4 back to its Factory Settings & start all over from the beginning.
How can I unlock my iPhone 4 with iTunes on my computer or any other option you suggest me trying.
Thank you in advance,
SiHeroIf you have had a "local guy "repair your iphone you will not get any support from Apple for warranty OR post warranty
If Verizon return it to Apple it wil not be handled by Apple
If Verizon also use unauthorised repairers you may be lucky
(Apple do not sell parts to local guys or anyone else ) -
Yesterday evening I accidentally dropped my iphone 5s in the sink while it was running. I immediately removed it and it started acting funny (sreen would turn on and off on it's own). It stopped doing that and was working fine. However, shortly after when I had time to really look at it, I noticed blue-ish stuff on the bottom of the screen. I turned it off and put it in a ziploc bag with rice for over 12 hours. Turned it back on today and the blue stuff is still there. Anything I can do? Should I put it in rice for longer? My concern (aside from the blue stuff driving me insane) is that the phone may suddenly die on me at any moment if there's still water in it and it's only a matter of time. Will an apple store do anything? I can't replace the phone. I haven't had it for very long, but it is definately out of warranty period (not that apple covers water damage anyway). Any help is much appreciated!

Now before you do anything else, put it back in the bag and leave ot there for another week.
Turned it back on today
Oh, too late...
Try it anyway.

Apple warranty is 1 year and iPhone 5S has not been released for 1 year.
However, dropping it in the sink has voided the remainng warranty.
You can get a replacement fro $269 (U.S.) at an Apple store.
