Dropped phone in whipped cream

Hi just dropped my phone in whipped cream (LOL) and speaker is now muffled and not working right. Tried to clean out the speakers with a q-tip and I restarted it but didn't help. Anything else I can do? Thanks

Take it Apple and ask them to check it out.
They will probably suggest that you pay for an out of warranty repalcement.

After being submerged in coffee, did you power the iPhone off right away and if so, how long did it remain off to be completely dry - for the interior, not exterior?
Did the coffee include cream and sugar? Electronics and moisture don't mix especially with moisture that includes sugar.
Regardless, sounds like there is some hardware damage especially if not powered off and allowed to dry with the interior before being powered back on.

  • In the past month or so my iPhone 5 battery is dying in hours, whereas it used to last all day at least.  Also, I am getting constant "message send failures" when texting and frequent dropped phone calls.

Just recently my Iphone 5 battery is dying in a just a few hours, it used to last all day or more.  I'm not doing anything different with it, although I have started shutting down apps etc. to conserve battery.  I get constant "message send failures and frequently dropped phone calls.

My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

  • Dropped phone in water.  Worked.  Then needs to be restored?  Restored but same message comes up?

Dropped phone in water.  Worked.  Hour later said it needs to be restored?  Restored but same message comes up?  Keeps saying "searching."  Help?

Your iPhone is most likely fried - out of warranty replacement on iPhone 4
    is $149 US.
Try putting your iPhone in a bag of uncooked rice for 5 days to draw out
the moisture. It may work temporarily, but long term you are looking at
replacing the iPhone or upgrading to a newer model.

  • Dropped phone - where do I go from here?

Dropped phone- issues as a result include the following: no mic, does not ring, home button does nothing, and won't charge.  How do I proceed? There is no apparent physical damages. Is there a component that may have failed or come unpluuger which controls all the functions listed?

Where do you go from here?  Well, if I were you, I'd go to Apple with my broken phone and ask for an out of warranty exchange for $149.  Either that or consider purchasing another phone.

  • Dropped phone in water, trying to dry it out, what is the best way?

Dropped phone in bath water, what is the best way to drt it out and maybe save it?

Agreed.  Mine went through the washer and appeared dead.  These steps saved it but you must be patient and let it stay in the rice for the week.  Very hard to do!  Mine was fine functionally after that though the screen was blotched.  The screen blotching cleared up after a week and then good as new!
    Good luck!

Dropped phone in water. Seems to be working. Should I do anything?

In addition to what gdgmacguy said, be sure to regularly back up and sync
so when the coming failure does happen, you will have your data saved
and can put it onto your new iPhone.

Dropped phone and now doesnt recognise sim, what should i do??
Hi,  i borrowed my friend's phone(sony ericsson t707) and dropped it and now  it doesnt recognise the sim and just says that there is no network  coverage...what shall i do?! I dont want to tell them that i have broken  it..

Sounds like physical damage, so you need to take it to a repair centre.

  • Dropped phone run a business all Apple products have to make an appointment to get a solution Disappointing service as either need a new screen or replacement not really technical experience needed Am I being unfair

Dropped phone have smashed screen  have Applecare 2 insurance so took into Apple store for either replacement or repair All prepared but not Apple I have to make an appointment next available appointment is Tuesday when Im working and not in town so now have to travel to appointment at Apple store in London
I get that if you have a technical issue you need to make appointment why can't Apple have an easily accessible service for cracked screen if people are covered

I believe his biggest grip here is not the cost of the replacement screen, but the need to make a Genius Bar appointment and not being able to be taken care of in a walk-in basis.
Unfortunately for the OP, not everyone in the Genius Bar is trained for screen replacement, and the technicians that are can be waiting on customers that have other issues. The ability to dedicate a single person for screen purposes does not make good business sense, for what would they be doing if there were no screens to repair. If you say to other technical diagnosis/repair, then if they were busy and someone came in, then they would have to wait, and you would be right back in the same place you are now, needing to make an appointment.

  • Dropped phone - now says 'no service'

    Help!
I dropped my last the other evening and had to dismantle the phone (took boack covers off) to release a jammed on/off button. Now however, I've lost all reception - it's permanently saying 'No service.'
Any idea what it may be? I dropped phone from low-level, can't imagine it's done that much damage?

It's apparently not reading your sim card. Power off the phone, remove and replace the sim card. Turn phone back on and see if you have service.

  • Accidentally and stupidly dropped phone in sink while it was running.  Phone works, but blue stuff on bottom of screen.  Left in bag of rice for 12 hours, no change.  Should I leave in longer or try something else?

Yesterday evening I accidentally dropped my iphone 5s in the sink while it was running.  I immediately removed it and it started acting funny (sreen would turn on and off on it's own).  It stopped doing that and was working fine.  However, shortly after when I had time to really look at it, I noticed blue-ish stuff on the bottom of the screen.  I turned it off and put it in a ziploc bag with rice for over 12 hours.  Turned it back on today and the blue stuff is still there.  Anything I can do?  Should I put it in rice for longer?  My concern (aside from the blue stuff driving me insane) is that the phone may suddenly die on me at any moment if there's still water in it and it's only a matter of time.  Will an apple store do anything?  I can't replace the phone.  I haven't had it for very long, but it is definately out of warranty period (not that apple covers water damage anyway).  Any help is much appreciated!

Now before you do anything else, put it back in the bag and leave ot there for another week.
    Turned it back on today
    Oh, too late...
    Try it anyway.

Apple warranty is 1 year and iPhone 5S has not been released for 1 year.
However, dropping it in the sink has voided the remainng warranty.
You can get a replacement fro $269 (U.S.) at an Apple store.

  • Dropped phone now my screen whites out

Help! I dropped my phone :S The screen still works when the phone is turned off and on again but when it goes to standby mode and I try to use my phone the screen is white. Any suggestions?

Even if you don't say you dropped it, don't be surprised or angry if they can tell it has been damaged accidentally and tell you it isn't covered. They are pretty good at detecting phones that have been dropped or gotten wet.

  • No signal after dropping phone

So i accidently dropped my phone yesterday. No visable damage. but i have no signal! Any ideas??

You may wish to speak with Apple at an in-store or visit your Carrier's store for further assistance. Don't mention you dropped the phone as that would be the dead giveaway and they'll replace it.
AppleCare has a store policy of limited assistance when it comes to accidents and negligence.

  • Dropped phone in water

    Help,
I was doing dishes and accidentally dropped my iPhone G4 in the water.  I retrieved it as soon as I could and dried if off.  I took out the sim card and it was dry, but I dried it anyway and I blew into everything to hopefully save it.  It actaully worked for about an hour, now all it does is flash the Apple icon at me.  I tried to restore it, but it tells me a "error occurred" and it couldn't finish the restore.  Do I need a new one, or can this be resolved?

At this point, you probably need a new phone. The worst thing to do after it got wet was to try to use it. The best thing to do in that situation is to turn it off and put it in a zip lock bag with dry rice for a week.

  • Dropped phone causes graphics to disappear

Just this morning I fumbled the iPhone and dropped it 3 feet to the floor. All graphics immediately shut off. Sound still works as I can hear messages come in and when I called the number from my land line, the phone still rings.
I have an Otter phone cover with a nice rubber bumper, but evidently not enough to prevent this small jolt.
Are there any tricks to bring the screen back up or will I have to send the phone in?
    Thank You,
    Bob

A hard boot, holding down the power button along with the Home button for 10 seconds, brought the screen back to life.
Thanks to any who read the  thread and were about to help.
