Dropped phone, screen not broken, but is completely black

I recently dropped my iPhone, but was relieved when I picked it up and the screen wasn't cracked. However, the screen is completely black. I've tried to turn it off/on, I've tried to hold down the on/off button and the home button at the same time, nothing. It will vibrate intermittently if I plug it in to charge. My question, is this a screen issue, loose cable, can it be fixed? My other question, are my texts on my SIM card? If so, if I purchase a new phone, can I trade out my SIM card and my info/texts/pics etc, transfer to that phone?

If you've backed up to iTunes when your pics, text, voicemail, etc should move over if you buy another iPhone.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Phone screen NOT working but phone IS working

Like the subject says, my screen is not working, but phone works fine.
I was able to guess the 'turn on USB storage' button and I got everything backed up.
I didn't drop or let my anger loose on the phone =P.
This is my 3rd replacement phone! I read another thread on the first page of someone complaining they are on their 4th phone. Prior to that reading, I was hoping I could upgrade or convince them to give me a NEW phone rather than a used. I guess that won't be happening.
I also tried all sorts of battery pulls including waiting 30min before I put it back in...none of this worked.
So I guess my best bet atm is to take it in to the store?

I am on my second Droid. The first one was damaged due to me dropping it. I have insurance and had a replacement sent to me. A month later I get the BSOD Black or Blank Screen of Death. I did the battery thing as well as a hard rest and nothing.
I am three months away from an upgrade and I am starting to think of downgrading to just an ordinary phone.
It seems that smartphones are too problematic and require dealing with multiple parties i.e Verizon, Motorola, and the Insurance company for the phone.

Apple won't replace an iPhone under warranty if the iPhone has been opened/tinkered with by you or by a 3rd party, but they may under Apple's out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price.
There is only one way to find out for certain.

you can now set up an Emergency Contact in 'Medical ID' in the Healh app. When someone goes to the lock screen and switched to the Emergency call, they can click on the link Medical ID and then contact your emergency person. It also lists your age, allergies, and illnesses if you need it to.

$99 is the carrier's fully subsidized or discounted price which requires signing a new two year contract with the carrier. Apple's out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price which pays for an exchange at a significantly reduced price off the full retail sales price has no effect on the existing contract nor requires signing a new contract with the carrier.

I have a 2007 Macbook, so it's probably a lot older than your Macbook Pro, but it sounds like what happened to me, except that mine hadn't travelled anywhere. I pulled out the ram and blew out some dust, popped them back in, and wha-la! it turned back on and worked better than ever! Or otherwise you've got a dud/old/warped/fried battery, which is also what happened to my laptop - it got so bad it did what your laptop is doing. If you are using the computer that you normally sync with, it should sync without entering the passcode. However, if this is not the computer you normally sync with, you cannot get past the passcode, it has to be entered.

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

There is no way out of the problem unless you have previously synced it with a computer. If you Restore the phone on the last computer it synced to it will remove the passcode and restore the contents, but if you don't have access to that computer there is no way to recover the contents of the phone.

My iphone is stuck on setings screen, not frozen but my lock button is broken

Last night, while trying to clear room to update, it stopped allowing me to go out of the settings app. my home button is not broke, but it didnt work.. My lock button IS broke, and i use the Assistive Touch. It wont allow me to open recieved messages when the pop up on the screen or answer calls.

Without the lcok button you will not be able to reset.
You need to get it repaired.
You can try waiting for the battery to die and see if it boots up normally after charging.

Hi,
A few weeks ago, I dropped my Nokia Lumia 520 and the screen smashed. The screen still lit up and the phone was receiving calls/texts etc, but the touch screen didn't work. I took it to be fixed locally, the screen was fixed in minutes and the phone works again. However, the screen now will not light up while I am on the phone which means I am unable to activate the keypad for touch tone calls (eg. Press 1 to top up by credit/debit card, Press 2 to top up by voucher, etc, etc.) or to activate loudspeaker, etc. When pressing the side button to activate the screen it flashes on for a split second and goes off again. Considering I took the phone elsewhere to be fixed, I know any reply will tell me I shouldn't have done so, but I can't surely be the only person who has done this...... I just want to know if it is in fact fixable?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
