Dropped zen visio

hey guys,
I've had my ZVM for a few months now and i recently dropped it (with a full battery) about 2 feet onto a concrete floor. It doesn't respond to anything, except the LED at the top flashes and makes a clicking noise when plugged into the USB on my computer. Have tried resetting, but it won't respond to that either. Just wondering if there is any way to salvage it at home, otherwise i'll just have to buy a new one. Thanks a bunch!

See if they will let you get a new one on warranty

  • Touch pad problem on Zen Visio

I have a Creative Zen Vision: M with a broken touch pad. I already did a research on this forum about how to fix it and none that works for me. I mean, first the tap touch is fine but up/down scrolling is not working. Then up/down scrolling comes back but tap touch stops working. I'm thinking this is a hardware problem. There is any other way to fix it's By the way, my Zen already out of the warranty period.
Is there anyway to just set it as a USB without using tap touch to set it's

Why not replace the part? Instructional video link also on the page? http://www.thegadgetdr.com/Zen-Visio...hpad-black.htm

  • I dropped my Zen visio

yeah i was working out, and i took my head phones off, and it got caught on my sleeve, and my player fell from about 5 feet up, and hit the floor. there is this rubber stuff on the floor, maybe half and inch thick. but i think it hit the metal of the bench.
There is a small crack in the paint on the bottom right side. but i don't think its anything major.
When i plug it into the usb port, the top by the power button blinks. it makes a small click noise as well. it won't turn on. i tryed to reset it, and it charged all night attached to the usb port. i don't know what else to do about it
i've had it for like 5 days.
    help.

Well, if someone is going to "repair" anything, it will have to be Creative. Most stores sell you the stuff, but when it comes to repairing anything, you have to deal directly with?the manufacturer, unless you buy one of these "replacement plans" (like in Best buy), where the store just?replaces it. BUT, call and find out the store, they should be able to tell you.
    Good luck

  • Moving Videos Around With Zen Visio

Hi all, I need some help with my videos on my new ZEN V:M. I have already put some videos on there and they are under the main Video folder, however I would like to put them into a sub-folder within the Video folder. The ony problem is?Zen M Explorer won't let me transfer them into the sub-folder. I try to drag and drop but nothing happens. I try to copy and paste but nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

<EM>My second Zen has been performing ok since I cleaned it up. Hopefully this will solve problem. If it continues, I will be purchasing an Ipod.</EM>
    <EM></EM>
John that is exactly what I opted to do. I was just too nervous making this kind of investment to have the customer service response so lacking, along with the weak warranty.
I got an iPod, though I really didn't want too. I was able to get the Hi-Fi speaker system, JVC car adapter kit so that the text information and control of my iPod is done via my JVC head unit. These two things alone made the switch worth while. I really like the ZV:M, but with the above mentioned issues and no real accessories this was a no brainer. I know folks say on the display isn't as good, but it is good enough for watching video podcast occasionally, I didn't buy the ZV:M or iPod to watch videos. But I can tell you the touch pad is better and doesn't dri've nuts.
By the way I've not had one single issue. No clattering MP3 playback and no freezing up... not a single time and I've used the iPod for going on 4 days. Today was the first full day I used it on the road in my truck, in the office and to take a slow walk around the property to check on my animals. Flawless performance! I am happy! If only I could have had this with the Zen Vision:M. I really wanted to support Creative, but this is what happens when you don't do a better job with quality control and testing your product. I had not realize that Creative is actually in 3rd place, well behind San Disk which is in 2nd place by a country mile behind Apple. Now I understand why no one makes accessories for the Creative MP3 players.

  • Retrieving songs from Creative Zen Visio

    Hello,
I am trying to copy a folder featuring most of music from out of my Creative Zen M back onto my desktop. Whenever I hit paste, I get a message saying that my device is calculating how long it will take to transfer the files. This message usually lasts about 30 seconds, then the folder appears on my desktop--without any of the files inside of it. Is anyone else having this problem? Any tips/hints are appreciated.

Tried a drag-and-drop? I know this sounds a little obvious, but I don't think copy-paste works properly - it's all to do with the restrictions MTP formatting has (i.e. copy-protection).

  • ? about zen visio

i've been looking at the vision m and i am very intrested.
i currently own the cowon iaudio x5 and would hope that the zen vision m would be a step up.
what kind of music organization does the m use (drag and drop? or itunes like)?
can it be used as an external hard dri've?
do videos need to be converted, and if they do, is the converter bought?
    how durable is the player?
    anwsers appreciated

The Vision:M can add music both ways. The Creative Media Explorer is just like Windows Explorer and you can drag and drop media into the player with it. The other software that comes with the Vision:M, MediaSource, is more like itunes or Windows media player. You can also use Windows Media Player 0 to sync media to the Vision:M
You can use part of the player's memory as an external hard dri've. You specify a partition between 52Meg and 6Gig size. Once the partition is set, that part can ONLY be used for data, not media that is playable on the player. Of course, you can delete the partition or resize it at any time to reclaim extra space for media to be played on the Vision:M.
The Creative Media Explorer has a video converter but I haven't used it so I don't know how well it works. There are also several freeware and shareware progams out there that can convert videos. The Vision:M supports many types of video, MPEG/2/4-SP, WMV9, Motion-JPEG, compatible DivX 4,5 and XviD.
The Vision:M seems very solid & sturdy and put together well to me. I haven't dropped it yet, thank goodness, but I'm not worried about durabillity. It does seem to get scratches very easily on the face and screen though. Just put it in a case right away and that shouldn't be a problem.
I haven't seen the screen on the iaudio x5 but the one on the vision:m is fantastic. It took me several days to get used to the creative menu system because I was used to the ipod but now I like it even better than the ipod's menu system. For audio, the vision:m only supports MP3,WAV, and WMA (DRM) formats so the iaudio has it beat there.

  • ***Dropped Zen Micro Not Working 100%

I recently dropped my Zen Micro Mp3 player from a height of about 4 Feet. When I turned it back on I found out that the Player was not working correctly. I can only scroll up (no matter what direction I scroll it always moves up). Im not able to use any other options besides "All Tracks" because I cant scroll down to select them. My Volume is always at MAX because I cant lower it. I can still use the Fast-Forward and Re-Wind buttons. The Play/Pause button still works. So do the "Menu" and "Back" buttons. The only problem is the Scroll bar(or button whatever its called). It can tell when im touching it because it shows the volume that its at and it can still scroll (Like I said before, only up). Anyone know how to fix this without having to send it in? I dont have a warranty anymore.

Hmm, thats odd considering i dropped mine over 0 feet onto a concrete floor and it works fine, considering that it beeps every so often. Well, to your problem, have you tried recovering the player by taking the battery out, and turning the power on at the same time you are putting the battery in?

  • So I dropped Zen Touch tod

From about six feet onto a sold tile like floor. It turned on so I figured it was fine initially, but now that I actually try to use it I realized it's not. All buttons except the power/volume buttons don't respond at all, I an only scroll down, even when I try to scroll up, and can't use tap to select. I had turned it of mid track so I could hear that there was also a weird kind of echo sound. I can still plug it in and see access all my files fine. Anyway, is this thing completely busted or what? It is over two years old, but I still like it :/

Almost exactly the same thing happened to me. My Zen Touch was 2 years old almost to the day, and I dropped it (believe it or not) for the first time onto a hard surface. Now the only buttons that work are the volume, menu and random buttons, so I can still listen to all tracks played randomly, but that's it?Your player is screwed, you'll need to get a new one mate. I was lucky - mine was still under warranty, so I'm getting a shiny new Vision M tomorrow

  • Remote for Zen Visio

I am about to spend some more money and get a remote for my Vision:M.
I am pretty sure this one is compatible with it, but I am not sure as no where does it mention that it is compatible with it.
    This one!
I remember reading that the remote from the Zen Micro was compatible with it.
Can someone confirm this before I try and get it shiped from Singapore to Australia.
(It is IMPOSIBLE to get almost any creative accesories in Australia, I even went to a shop in Syndey called BlasterWorld. They are listed as a reseller on the Creative website, but they only had a couple of old Muvos and some sound cards.)
    Thanks.
Also, has anyone in Aust. bought stuff from the Singapore store before, and was it easy to get it shipped here? Thanks.

    ssjmichael wrote:
You might want to get it from Buy.com instead if they have it in stock and in the color you want.
do they ship internationaly? I can't find any information on rates to other countries (Australia)
    Thanks

  • Reorganising files on Zen Visio

Just bought my Zen. I have XP and WMA. I can't cut and paste files on the Zen. The Help function indicates you can. Anyone with similar issues? How do you resolve them?

I appreciate your response, and have finally run into some problems. I did everything you said, and when I went to play the video on my ZVM it said "video file not supported" and gave me a blank screen, but I could hear the video.
I have downloaded all the files using Divx 6.0+, and have played in WMP. Recently, however, I tried to download Divx 5.0+, and it screwed up playback in WMP.
Any suggestions on how to correct the videos so they are supported fully? Please let me know, any help would be appreciated.

  • How do i connect an ipod lcd screen to a zen visio

My zen vision m lcd screen recently cracked and after getting the full run around and reading up on the net, I bought a 2.5" lcd ipod replacement screen for $0 off of ebay. I really don't watch much movies so the quality doesn't really matter as long as I can see my music and audiobooks. So here is the problem:
They both have 32 pin connectors that attach to the 32 contact ribbon connector, but the ipod ribbon is about half the size of the zen's.
I would like to connect the new screen and have a couple of options.
. connect the ipod screen ribbon to the zen's ribbon, then connect to the player.
    2. somehow solder the ipod connector to the motherboard directly
    3. solder the ipod connector to the casing on the motherboard
    Problems:
. I don't even know if the connectors go to the same places, therefore don't know if it will work even if I do figure out how to do so.
    2. I have no idea how to go about soldering ribbon connectors because the wires are so close together.
    3. Any solder job that I could do would probably preclude me from putting everything back into the player.
If anybody has any ideas (other than buy a new one or pay the ridiculous $20 to fix it) your help is much appreciated and will probably help a whole mess of people.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Zen Vision M VS Zen Visio

I've been in the market for a new player for a bit now and have been playing with a few. I did buy the Zune to later take it back because I wasn't happy with the conversion process. Now, I'm looking at getting the Vision M or W. I know they are pretty close to the same, but I like the size of the M for portability, but I like the screen size for the W. There is also about $00 when it's all said and done. I am looking at the 30gb as I had the 60gb Vision M and found it to be too fat.
What do you guys think? I do really like watching videos and that's one of the big reasons I'm going with the Zens. I heard that the quality of the videos on the W are less than the M because of the screen as well.

you have double posted this. Once in the correct forums, and now once in the incorrect forum. Need to keep it in the media devices section.

  • Error while copying files to Zen Visio

    Hello everyone,
I just bought the zen vision m a couple days ago. Since the first connection w/ the PC I've had problems because windows would not recognize the player. By now I downloaded a fixup file so that that is working pretty well. But now my next problem is that I can only copy about one fourth of my mp3 music. Windows just stops copying, not even a wondow which reports an error pops up. But other files like movies work fine.
Does anyone of you know how to solve this problem?
    Thanks, Simon

    Status update on this problem:
Yesterday I received my update CD to Snow Leopard. I installed it but I am still unable to copy files to my NAS. But now, the error message has changed to:
"The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "<<the name of the folder being copied>>" can't be read or written (Error code -36)"

  • US Playdock Z500 with UK Zen Visio

I really want a Creative Playdock Z500 to use with my Zen Vision M 30GB. However, it seems I missed the boat on the Europe supply, and everywhere I've looked is out of stock. I noticed it's in stock at Amazon.com so am thinking about importing one. Before I do, can anyone confirm that a US Playdock will be compatible with a UK bought Zen?Thanks!Sarah
