Dropping from pro to single user licence

Can anyone give me advice on how I should go about the transition from a pro account to just a CC membership single edition account.
I have many single edition apps live in the app store, all created with the pro licence, so how will I manage them/continue to support these single edition folio's with the CC single edition licence?
Cheers
Alistair

OK, interesting, so can you elaborate on "likely wont work?"
So say there is something in a later release say r28 and I need to update, I sign in to folio builder with the adobe ID I used with the pro account, but as that accounts has stopped, I can imagine I will get an error.
So would I need to create new ID's for all the apps or could I just register the ID's - it would be a pain to not be able to use the ID's that I've been using, ... or is there some other reason.
Sorry just read what you said again, "re-build in App Builder" Ok thats not such a pain, are you sure thats all?, so the ID's will still work?
Sorry to be a pain, I have 2 months left on pro account, and want to make sure I dont get any nasty surprises!!
Cheers

  • Can not book from DVD or Single user mode

    Hello,
In a bit of a pickle here. I have an ibook g3, 10gb hard drive, 512mb ram, cd/dvd combo drive and an airport card.
When i book up the system I get the broken folder icon (the flashing ? mark) I have tried to get the system to boot from a DVD of Mac OS X Tiger. However no matter how long I hold the C button down it will never even try to boot from the DVD.
Also no matter how long I hold down Command + S it will never go into the single user mode. However I know that the keyboard is good because I have been able to reset the PRAM with CommandoptionP and R and I get the normal two chimes. No luck.
I have reset the PMU out of desperation. I have even installed a new keyboard from a working ibook.
I know it would be easier to just buy a new mac but this isnt an option for me due to money issues so I want to fix this system. Also I do not have a double ended firewire cable for target disk mode.
My question is what do you do when you cant get past the broken folder and when it does not even try to load the Mac DVD?
    HELP ME PLEASE!

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? If not, I suggest that you give it a try. This will take quite awhile longer than a normal startup because it does a file check and repair of the hard disk.
If this works you will see your normal desktop. Once completely started up in Safe Mode, try to restart normally, and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Click on the top hard drive icon in the left sidebar and note the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom right of the pane. What does it say?
Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, ("Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it). What is the hard drive capacity and how much space remains available on it? Repair permissions on it.
See if you are able to do a little hard drive maintenance to help things out.

  • Transitioning from Pro to Single Edition

We are having a similar problem. We downgraded from Pro. Edition to creative cloud. We would like to just cancel our 1st app and create a new 2nd app. The 1st app has not yet been deleted from the app store, just limited. Our 2nd app has been launched and in iTunes. Both are launched under the same Apple ID
a.) We would like our 1st app removed from the app store. How can we do this?
b.) We would like to update our 2nd app, but are not able to. Why is this and how can we do this?
c.) Is this because we used the same Apple ID? I understand each app needs to be created under a different app ID, however since we are canceling one app and adding another that would mean there is 1 app connected to this apple ID, correct?
Below are our folios. The top folio is our 2nd App (single folio). The folios below are our folios from the professional edition. I don't understand why the Single edition (CC) folio is limited. It shows up fine in the app store. Why can't we update this?
    Thank you

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro subscriptions - single user

I subscribed for a single user for Adobe Acrobat Pro for one of my team to use, but the Adobe registration pages don’t seem to allow for this.  I tried a chat line and asked the question – they simply just didn’t get it.   This is just so simple and the registration management and account pages are just so complicated – why isn’t it a simple matter of assigning the user as you do in Creative Cloud account user management pages.
    Help -

    Hi Emrysg,
Please let me know what you mean when you say "Adobe registration pages don't seem to allow this".
Are you not able to use the software?
    What error do you get?
    Regards,

  • Unable to boot from cdrom in single user mode

I have lost the root password for solaris 9.So, I tried booting the system with solaris 8 CD in single user mode(i.e, at ok prompt, boot cdrom -s)
But I get the following error.
rebooting with command :boot cdrom -s
boot device :/pci@1e,600000/ide@d/cdrom@0,0:f file and args -s
    boot:cannot open kernel/sparcv9/unix
    Enter filename:[kernel/sparcv9/unix]:
Please let me know why is this error?.Is it becos the CD is corrupted?

Also, the particular Solaris 8 you've chosen could be a distribution that's too old for your particular computer's design.
For example, a Sunfire V440 would need Solaris 8 HW 7/03 or newer.
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/SunFireV440/Sun FireV440.html
Solaris 8 HW 2/02 would not work.
What model system, and what version Solaris are you trying to use?

  • Need to Migrate from Server to single user version

I need to upgrade the mac machines at my company. The version the machines are currently running on is Mac OS 10.3 server. But they are no longer servers now so need to run on the single user version of Mac OS 10.4. But, somehow it will not allow this change. Any solutions?
    Thanks

You have to do an archive & install or erase and install.
You can't install OS X client onto OS X Server.

  • Question about single user licence for design premium cs6

Heya, I just purchased the student version of design premium cs6 and I am wondering what the rules are in the case that my computer hard drive fails.
Would I be able to use it on another computer or do I have to buy a new set of software?
Are there any things I should know about installing like backing up the software files somewhere? If so, I would appreciate if anyone could tell me how to do that.
Also I would like to know if I can use my serial number for a mac version of the software or if I have to buy a whole new set.
    Many thanks in advance

You have 2 activations and those can be reset when a computer no longer is accessible, otherwise one simply would use Help-->Deactivate and the like to manage activations. Serial numbers are platform specific, so you cannot use the same license on Mac and Windows.

  • Can you move websites published on from a Single User account to Team account?

    Hi All,
Need some help we had a single user account with which all our websites were hosted for clients, then we upgraded the whole studio to the Team Package, but need to know if we can cancel the single user licence and move the current live sites in that account to our team account? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Matt.

    Hi,
There is a ~/Library/Mail/   and this has a subfolder of /AccountTypes, so full path is ~/Library/Mail/AcountTypes
I have 6 active email accounts over 20000 mesages and send and receive constantly.  Until upgrading to Lion I was able to see the directory contents you mentioned and used to backup the .mbox files etc as required and everything was good.
    Now Nothing, hence my confusion
Any ideas?  Am loathed to delete complete drive as even though I have a timemachine backup and could also generate a diskimage file am just not happy

  • Can I run DW4 in Safe/Single User mode?

I have downloaded DiskWarrior 4, biut I am unable to create a boot disc from the .dmg file. Is it possible to run the DW4 application from Safe Boot/Single User mode?

Once you get the physical CD in the mail, that one should boot your computer. Until then, you'll have to boot from a different drive.
I keep a copy of OS X installed on my iPod for troubleshooting purposes. It's got DiskWarrior, the AppleCare TechTool, Intech Speed Tools, etc. installed on it.

  • Network driver attachment booting cdrom single user mode

I am attempting to boot from cdrom in single user mode and reach some network shares. However, when I boot cdrom, the server does not attach the network drivers, meaning I cannot plumb up any of my interfaces.
Now, I should add that we have an XVR-300 card in an XAUI PCI-E slot. I read somewhere that this can disable one of your network ports, but shouldn't it still see the other ports and attach the network drivers?
Any body have any ideas or anything I could try?
    Thanks!

  • Keyboard completely unresponsive in single user mode

Since upgrading to v10.5.1 I have been unable to get both my Apple USB and Apple Bluetooth keyboards to work in single user mode. I can get into single user mode using the command-s keys but once there the keyboard dies. This is the only time the keyboard fails. I have no other USB device attatched. I am using the white (non-aluminum) Apple keyboards. I'm curious to see if anyone else has this issue.

It appears to have been a Bluetooth only issue. I got the USB keyboard to work in single user mode. However I had to first turn off Bluetooth before rebooting into single user mode. Originally I kept Bluetooth on before rebooting using my USB keyboard. This for some reason prevented the USB keyboard from functioning in single user mode. When I have some time I'll further troubleshoot the Bluetooth keyboard issue and report back.

  • Data back up from Single User Mode

    Hello,
I have a problem with my 700 MHz iBook, dual USB, with OS X 10.3.9.
Unfortunately the OS doesn't start up because of "overlapped extent allocation" problem...
I would like to re-install the complete OS but before doing it, I would like to back up some directories.
Is it possible to save some data, by connecting an Ipod or some sort of external peripheral, from the Single User mode?
If yes, how can I do it?
Thank you in advance from your kind support.

Before giving up the ghost check out these:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25770.
Manually fix Overlapped Extent Allocation Errors without Disk Warrior
Overlapped overlapped extent allocation errors can be the bane of any Mac user's existence. Often, these errors go unnoticed until the problem becomes visible: your Mac might refuse to boot, crash unexpected, or worse, critical data might disappear from the Finder. Disk Utility can detect, but not fix overlapped extent allocation errors, and certain third-party utilities, such as Alsoft Diskwarrior, can fix them, but generally without reporting the consequences.
Overlapped extent allocation error occur when the file system thinks that two files are occupying the same area on the hard disk, hence overlapping on the same "inode," which is the structure which holds the location of the data blocks the file occupies, and also file permissions and flags.
Clearing the "overlapped" or "overallocated" extent allocation essentially means that you'll have to lose some data, because the only way to remove the overlap is to delete the file that's occupying the inode. So, if you suspect, or find out, that the guilty file is a critical system file that resides in one of the hidden system directories such as /etc /var /usr/ or visible system directories such as /System or /Library, and you don't want to reinstall the whole OS (which might not fix the overlapped extent allocation anyway), it's good to have another disk available to copy the files back to your original disk if necessary: a second bootable hard drive or a firewire drive connected to your Mac when you remove the misbehaving file. Just make sure that when you copy the file back to your boot disk that the permissions are correct, so it's best to use the "ditto" command, so that all sticky bits, flags, and permissions are preserved.
In case you didn't know, you don't have to boot from an install CD in order to check for overlapped extent allocations. All you need to do is restart your Mac, while holding down command + S to boot in "single-user mode."
At the command prompt that appears, type:
    $ fsck -fy
If you have an overlapped extent allocation, you'll see:
    "Overlapped Extent Allocation" (File 123456d)
No matter how many times you run fsck -fy, you'll never be rid of the error.
So, simply issue the following command:
    find / -inum 123456 -print
Note the "d" was dropped, or any extra letter that appears after the inode number.
The find will return a file name that matches with the inode number, and the path to that file. If you remove the file then the fsck will not return this error next time you run it.
However, before you can delete the file(s) in single-user mode, you'll need to mount the file system. Type:
    $ mount -uw /
When done, issue the "sync" command, and that will flush the write cache so that all pending writes are written from memory to the disk. Also, since most OS X 10.3 Macs use the HFS+ Journaled file system, it might be a good idea to disable the journal before booting into single-user mode by typing:
    $ sudo diskutil disableJournal /
then re-enable it when done fixing the overlapped extents and rebooting normally:
    $ sudo diskutil enableJournal /

If you own Disk Warrior then it should be able to repair a drive with overlapped extents.
There are two backup utilities included in Unix - psync and rsync. You will find them in the /usr/bin/ directory. For documentation simply enter: man psync or man rsync. In order to write data while in single-user mode you need to issue the command: /sbin/mount/ -uw / (Note: there is a "space" between the "uw" and the "/".) To mount an external drive you will need to provide the mountpoint for it in place of the "/", e.g., "/Volumes/volname") without the quotes.

  • Can I access Terminal from Single User Mode?

So I have an early 2011 MBP that is having the graphics switiching problem that's been well documented in some other threads recently:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4766577?start=120&tstart=0
    http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/10/14/apples-2011-macbook-pro-lineup-sufferi ng-from-sporadic-gpu-failures
Basically, I cannot boot because it goes to a white screen after the apple logo.
I found these terminal commands that will shut off the discrete graphics card so that only the integrated graphics will run, which would be an ok solution because I mainly use the computer for Recording/Mixing etc with Logic Pro, so I don't really need the more powerful graphics.
    http://forums.appleinsider.com/t/160161/apples-2011-macbook-pro-lineup-suffering -from-sporadic-gpu-failures/80#post_2420378
But I of course can't access Terminal because I can't get past startup. Is there a way to get to terminal and/or enter these commands while in Single User Mode?

    Are you referring to these
You can move the kext out with these commands:
    > mkdir DisabledExtensions
    > cd /System/Library/Extensions
    > sudo mv ATIRadeonX****.kext ~/DisabledExtensions (replace asterisks with your model's numbers)
    > sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions
If so there is nothing to take, the commands are physically removing system files. Once those files are moved there is no way for them to go back unless you put them back or you do an install of the OS.
But I am surprised that Safe mode does not work for you. In Safe mode the system only uses the onboard graphics. Are you certain you ere booted into Safe mode? When in Safe mode the words Safe Boot will appear in red letters at the top of the login screen. Did you see that? I ask because it is easy to mistime the Shift key press during boot and not actually get into Safe mode.
    Perhaps you problem something different?

  • Installing from Single User Mode

I had to wipe my internal hard drive on my iMac G5 (the model just prior to the Intel Macs). I did this from another Mac using FireWire mode.... anyway...
I can boot in Single User mode, but how can I tell it to install from the Tiger Installer in the DVD drive.. I just don't know Unix much..
The machine will boot from the Install disc but shuts down before it actually boots.... Stays on in Single User mode though.. thanks

Thanks for everyone's advice, but it's gone.... After a few attemps and getting it up and running, with a new system installed, it just shut down one last time and has a nice burnt aroma to it....
I pulled the power supply out and it smelled fine on it's own and it seemed be burnt somewhere in the computer... If I let it sit for a while, I can start it up, but then it shuts down and stays down for a long time...
It's now a 17" paper weight..... No data was lont, sine I backed it up just prior to the problem.
Pretty good record though. I've owned Macs way back to my PowerPC 7600 days (and even my old Apple 2e and II gs) and this is the first Mac that I will ever have to toss.. I'm happy about that... Still got my Intel iMcac and MacBook Pro (but my mother-in-law inherits my old Macs and she passes her's to her son. She's bummbed she'll miss this one.. She'll have to live with the iMac (shpere type) one for a while longer....)

  • How to Restore from Time Machine in Single-user mode?

Hi there, I am trying to fix a Macbook Pro that has had its /private folder trashed and emptied. Obviously it won't boot unless you you boot in to Single User mode and I'm wondering if its possible to do a Time Machine restore from the terminal, I would need the 2nd more recent Time Machine image which is sitting on a Firewire HDD.
I was going to just see if I could find the orignal OSX install disk and just do a fresh install of the OS which I don't mind doing (since everything important is backed up in Dropbox), but I can't seem to find the CD anywhere nearby, so the Time Machine option would be much preferred.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this is related enough, but I just wrestled trying to restore from time machine too, trying to reinstall 10.5.8 after putting a new HD in my MBP, 2006 vintage.
That took sooooo long to get back to where I was before swapping disks; what did the trick was ordering a free copy of Snow Leopard install disk (free due to Apple trying to push people from idisk to icloud) which was rushed FedEx (yay) and which allowed me to access Time Machine where my ancient original OSX install disk had not.
And all it took was 2 weeks of cursing!
