Dropping iphone5 in water

dropping iphone in water, unable to power on,what can i do???
How to fix it? How much will it take? I buy it in sydney....

Hey YaoL,
It all depends if you have some type of insurance on the phone. What iPhone model is it? Apple Care+ does cover two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $49 service fee. Click the link for more info about Apple Care+   http://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html
Hope you can ger your iPhone fixed,

i dropped my iphone5 in water... my sim is not working now... wat shud i do now??? i dont hav insurance too

If your SIM isn't working then go to your network provider and get a new one.
However, the water is likely to have damaged more than just the SIM. If the iPhone is damaged you'll have to pay to get it repaired or replaced if you don't have insurance.

Hi. My phone dropped in some water but now it wont come out of recovery mode.

    iPhone 4S is $199 US

  • HT201263 dropped iphone4 in water and turned off by itself

dropped iphone4 in water and turned off by itself and now cant turn on, plugged it to itunes and was asking to restor, when i did restore it it would not turn on when i try to restart it was still the same and now keeps on asking to restore would not turn on any help.... please

You can try drying it out internally by wrapping the unit in a paper towel and putting it in a bag of dry, uncooked rice (or a bag of silica gel pellets, if you have access to those) for a few days. It's very probable that it's been permanently damaged, but it's possible that if you dry it out, it may then work. If after a few days in the bag it still has problems, then you'll need to pay to get it exchanged (by Apple) or repaired (by a third-party repair service, which voids any warranty).
    Good luck.

  • Dropped iphone4 in water! What to do ?

Dropped iphone4 in water! What to do?

I have read that putting the phone into a bag of rice for 3 days often helps as the rice slowly absorbs the moisture from within the phone.

  • Dropped phone in water.  Worked.  Then needs to be restored?  Restored but same message comes up?

Dropped phone in water.  Worked.  Hour later said it needs to be restored?  Restored but same message comes up?  Keeps saying "searching."  Help?

Your iPhone is most likely fried - out of warranty replacement on iPhone 4
    is $149 US.
Try putting your iPhone in a bag of uncooked rice for 5 days to draw out
the moisture. It may work temporarily, but long term you are looking at
replacing the iPhone or upgrading to a newer model.

  • Dropped itouch in water how to fix

i dropped ipod in water and now it wont turn on and when i plug it in to an accesssory it has no volume and wont change date etc can this be fixed

Since you attempted to turn it on while it was still wet, the damage is probably done.
You can put in a zip lock bag with dry uncooked white rice for a week and then try again.
If it still does work, take it Apple and they will replace it. They will charge you for the replacemetn.

  • Dropping the Hight Water Mark on a Queue table.

What is the best technique for dropping the High Water Mark on a queue table?
Will the dbms_aqadm.purge_queue_table procedure drop the high water mark (truncate the queue table) when purging all records from the queue?
If not, is it supported to manually truncate the queue table? My guess is that this is ok if the queue is empty.
Please advise on best strategies for maintaing performance of the queue following a period where the queue fills with a large number of transactions pushing the high water mark up.

  • Dropped iPhone in water?  Read my experience - you may not need to replace!

I just wanted to let people know what happened to me when I dropped my phone in a sink full of water. First, I just want to say I really think Apple is great. The said they would "repair" my broken phone for only $250 which meant that they would just give me a brand new phone in exchange for mine. They don't have to do that but it's pretty cool that they do. The main reason I am writing this is that my phone is working perfectly after being submerged for a full second! I freaked out and got really upset when it happened and there was no help to be found online, so I'm writing this so that other people don't throw their phones away without at least trying to get it working. Here are the things I did, I'm not sure what did the trick maybe just the combination:
Sat night dropped phone in water,
dried it off right away and "tapped" the bottom of the phone against a paper towel for about 20 minutes. Water kept leaking out of the speaker holes.
Then the phone freaked out for about 3 hours. My husband checked it when he got home and it was working almost perfectly. The on/off button didn't work and it kept telling me about a non-compatible device, but other than that it was working normally. Oh and there was a splotch of water under the screen in the corner.
I decided to let the battery die and let it dry out before I plugged it into the wall charger. I let it dry out until Tuesday night and when I plugged it in it was working normally like nothing had ever happened!! I voided the warranty but I don't care I'm just glad I still have my phone. If you have just dropped your phone in the water don't give up on it!

Well, I have a good experience to report. Or is it a bad experience with a good outcome? I dropped my iPhone in the toilet this morning. Took me a second to realize what had happened but then I moved faster than I have in years. The case I use is net on the sides and bottom so offered no protection. I immediately dried it and blew in every opening I found, tried it to see if it worked, ran to read these Discussions to see what to do, and discovered I shouldn't try it to see if it works! So I powered it off. It had been giving me error messages like something wasn't compatible, and it would blink on and off. The screen looked fine, I had my calendar and photos but I'd lost the Internet connection, and Edge, and had no AT&T service bars.
Someone (haven't yet found it again) suggested trying a hair dryer, which I did on COOL cycle. I held it a bit away, alternated pointing it toward each opening, and did that for about 15 minutes or so. I then put it back on the dock, charged it, and synced it. While on the Dock, it would go on and off, ask if I wanted to power off, but I synced everything, left it on the dock charging until it was full and now ... it's fine.
I should have powered it off right away; dodged a bullet there; but I believe the hair dryer, on cool, for a steady period of time helped speed up getting the moisture out, as opposed to letting it sit for a week drying naturally.
Everything is working. Whew!! It won't be going in that room with me again!
Will post again if anything changes.

  • Dropped IPOD in water now what?

Accidently dropped ipod in water now what do i need to do?

Place the iPod in a sealed container of uncooked rice for a week and change the rice daily. The see if it works. If not Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
Do not use or charge until dry.

  • Dropped iPod in water, dropped iPod in water

dropped iPod in water. How do i fix?

FIrst, as to the response above....once you open those guts you void any and all of your warranty. SO know that before you to ripping into your device.
Second, an iPod isn't like a laptop inside, it's not simple modular bits that you can take apart and reassemble. The screen itself can be a complex device and if you don't get things exactly right, you will break it.
I would not recommend doing what Nan suggested unless you are very skilled with electronics and willing to accept all the consequences....for example, if you tear into it and it doesnt work, your chances of being eligible for an out of warranty replacement are greatly diminished if not gone all together.

  • How can i reset or restore my iphone after dropping it in water

how can i reset or restore my iphone after dropping it in water????

There are a lot of posts here about your problem, read a few of them and they all come back to switching the phone off immediately and have it in a very good closed bag of dry rice for a week and advisely swith the rice for a fresh charge of dry rice every week for a number of weeks when it was really submersed. Ckuan advice times 3. The iPhone has a detector which indicates whether the iPhone was in the water, Apple can give you an indication about the price first if you visit them.

In addition to what gdgmacguy said, be sure to regularly back up and sync
so when the coming failure does happen, you will have your data saved
and can put it onto your new iPhone.
