Dropping on a N signal.

I've bought myslef a Wireless WRT300N and WMP300N to get a good strong signal.
Router is placed downstairs, and reciever is just one room above it. It seems dat my Linksys connection program recieves a good steady signal of 90%.
Still I get drop outs, all the time. When I connect I can use the internet or other programs to run steady for about tien minutes, after that it just drops out and I need to restet my connection.
When I use newsleecher to get some newsarticles, speed gets up to about 600 kb/s, but after two to three minutes, speed drops and the program stops.
Does anyone have some good tips to get my connection more stable. I just phoned to linksys helpdesk for about one hour, te hear that they can't solve my problem.
Kinda **bleep**ty, since I payed well for this setup.
Thx ia gABBY.

Gabby,
There are alot of posts on the problem with using the WMP300N adapter. Go to the forum 'wireless adapters'.
I have the N router which I was using with some G notebood adapters , no problem, Recently I purchased the WMP300N to use with my desktop and I was dropping all over the place.
I called them up and it seems this is a common problem. They sent me the beta driver and since I installed that, no problems... I am up and running for 2 days now with no drops .
Go to Live Chat and ask the technician for the Beta Driver. You are not alone.
Hopefully, they make this available soon to all.
Hope this helps
Linda

  • Drag and drop from a Mixed Signal Graph to another?

Using a Mixed Signal Graph a trace can be dragged from a plot area and dropped to another one in the same Graph.
Is there a way to have the drag and drop working between two different graphs?

    Hi Antonios,
when I need some graphs one under another I use different plot areas, and this is perfect.
But when I need 4 plots forming a 2x2 matrix, the only solution I think to is two MSG side-by-side (each one with 2 plot areas).
I know there is the XY Plot Matrix, but it doesn't have the capability to drag and drop the traces from a plot area to another!
I think this is the best graph feature available in LabVIEW, but unfortunately only the MSG has it (as far as I know).

  • Just downloaded 8.2 and Safari drops out even where signal is strong

I just downloaded 8.2 onto my iphone 5 and the download was successful, however Safari will drop and the screen goes blank. This happens even in areas where my cellular signal is strong. It takes several attempts to reboot.

    Hello dennisonanju,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like Safari is not connecting to web sites over cellular networks.
Even if you have a strong cellular connection, I'd recommend starting with these tips to troubleshoot your cellular data connection or rule it out as the cause of the issue:

  • Excessive dropped calls with full signal!!!

I have a 3GS and have updated to 3.1.2 I recall that one of the items addressed in this update was the dropped calls issue. Mine have been severely worse since the update. It is quite aggravating when the calls dropped are when I have full signal. I am not the only one I know with this particular issue. Is this being addressed?

The phone on the iphone is not the best. I live in Dallas and when the phone is on 3g it really is unusable. Just for grins I started a call log for a day. In my very unscientific experiment I dropped (or couldn't hear the person and had to call back) 76.6% of my calls when I 3g for the day. In my opinion, Apple or no Apple, this is unacceptable for any cell phone. I tried calling ATT to see if I could get some credit and they said no. I have taken the phone to the apple store and they said it was the network not the phone. I have restored the phone, reset the phone, updated the phone, and still nothing seems to work.
However, when the phone is in 2g it seems to work fine. Except the only problem with that is when you are searching the net, or checking email and someone calls you it won't ring. This a mild annoyance because at least when I do call or someone calls me I can talk to them and they can hear me.
The iphone is the worst cell phone on the market and best pocket computer you can buy.
    You decide.

  • Dropped calls with full signal

When I am on my iPhone with a full or close to full signal, the sound cuts out for a while and then come backs a few times, and eventually drops the call. Its not every now and then...it's every call!
I have synced and restored it...and neither helped.

This does sound more like a faulty antenna than a SIM card problem to me. It may be that when the iPhone switches towers, as it does periodically, even when on full or near full signal strength, there is a time lag between disconnecting the previous tower and locking on to the new tower. This used to be a problem with old analogue mobiles that employed "hard" handoffs rather than "soft" handoffs, where the new tower is locked on to before disconnecting from the previous tower. In any event, with digital phones that still use hard handoffs, the technique has been refined to the point where the change is said to be imperceptible (does anyone know whether the iPhone employs hard or soft handoffs?).
Try replacing the handset and see if that improves matters for you.

  • IPad 3 constantly dropping strong 4G LTE signal

My iPad 3 suddenly refuses to hold the very strong (5 bars) 4G LTE signal here at work. The LTE signal is very strong here, my iPad has always had an excellent LTE signal since I activated it a few months ago. Now, it grabs the LTE signal immediately -- five bars -- and gives me LTE speeds. This lasts only for a couple of minutes. After a couple of minutes, it suddenly says **Could not activate data cellular network** and reverts to 3G. This never used to happen, but has been happening for the past several days now.
I've tried resetting network settings, airplane mode on/off, turn wireless off, turn on/off cellular data, hard reset of the iPad, full shutdown of the iPad. Nothing worked.
I've Googled, and this appears to be a fairly common issue without any clear resolution. What's the answer?

MarquiaF_VZW - thanks for the reply. With more Googling and messages on other forums, I resolved this on my own. To cut to the chase and hopefully help others, here's the answer. I'll also more fully describe the issue below the answer:
    ANSWER
    (1) Go to Settings.
    (2) Go to General.
    (3) Choose Reset.
    (4) Choose Subscriber Services.
    (5) Select Reprovision Account.
    (6) Reboot iPad.
This completely fixed the issue for me. My LTE has been solid since performing this fix two weeks ago. Before doing this, I tried pretty much everything else you can try short of getting a new SIM card.
    PROBLEM
This was not a Verizon coverage issue. 4G is very strong here at work, and it is reasonably strong at home. I never had any 4G issues at either place, then suddenly I had them constantly. My iPad would latch onto the (5 bar) 4G signal quickly, give me 4G service for 30 seconds to a couple of minutes, then drop it for 3G, sometimes also displaying a "Could not activate data cellular network" message. It would stay at 3G unless I reset the iPad, shut it down completely, reverted to all defaults, or whatever. Then I'd get 4G right away again, but dropping to 3G the same way within a minute or two again.
I saw this exact same issue at the following thread, where I also posted, and where someone suggested the "reprovision account" solution: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1535823
That solution worked perfectly for me and a few others on that thread, but not everyone. I suspect that for the others, they may have actual 4G coverage or antenna or SIM card issues. For me, it was apparently an issue where VZW didn't recognize my iPad / account any more, for whatever reason. Reprovisioning was the way to go. I'll try to mark this thread as "answered" to help other people, or perhaps you at VZW can mark it.
Thanks for contacting me. VZW support and the 4G LTE service are excellent.

  • Airport Extreme dropping Internet Despite Strong Signal - Mavericks?

Hi - I've searched in the threads several times but haven't yet been able to find a resolution for this.
The past week or so, my Wifi keeps going out at random intervals. I can restart my router and it will come back up, but eventually it will drop again. Thought it was my internet service OR my router, but everything works super fast and steady if I'm connected directly. I really think it's the connection to my 2 year old Airport Extreme that is causing issues.
The wifi drops (all sites get stuck and say "Resolving Host" before getting a no connection error), but the Airport Extreme light stays green and my WIFI signal shows on my devices with full strength even though it's not working. Again - no problems if I'm connected directly to the internet.
I thought it was a similar problem to this thread, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2508959?start=120&tstart=0, however I followed those steps (enable IPv6) and the issue is still occuring. My Airport Extreme is running v 7.6.4.
I upgraded about a week ago to Maveicks and wondered if that might have something to do with it? Or if anyone has any other ideas? Any help at all is appreciated - it's been maddening rebooting my modem multiple times a day.

Let me see if I can suggest a strategy.
I have talked with my ISP and he said that I am not the only one with an Airport Extreme with the same issue. He said to try to write the DNS direclty, rather than using the Auto settings - still nothing works.
What modem do you have and what sort of broadband?
What mode is the AE in.. router or bridge?
I have an Airport Express from 2010. Since about a month and definetly since yesterday, I cannot connect any device via Wifi to it although LAN connection works correctly.
Is this express or extreme.. the rest of the post you refer to extreme.
What is the actual model number of the AE? A1xxx from the base or the part number MCxxx from the box.
If the AE is bridge.. I want you to try a different method.. put it in router mode.. don't worry about double NAT but ensure the IP range of the modem /router is different to the AE.. so if one is 192.168.x.x then the AE on default at 10.x.x.x is fine.. if the main router is 10.x then move the AE to 192.168.x.x
Make sure the guest wireless is off.
Using a 5.6 utility on your 10.6.8 OS mini go to the log and see if the wireless is registering..
You should see lists of wireless connection like..
Post as many screenshots of the setup as you can.. it helps loads.
IPv6 is starting to become a pain.. try it off and try local link and try auto.. in the computer.

  • I have alot drop calls and bad signal strength with my iphone 4, please help

I have alot of problems when I speak to all parties and the keep saying, are you there...are you there almost all the time, please help me

To solve this issue you must first find out if it's a carrier problem or device problem.
So what I suggest is that you try another sim card from another carrier, if you still have issue with the device than you can try a clean restore according to HT1414.
If that dont solve the problem contact apple support.
    goodluck

  • Verizon Ipad Dropping LTE Signal

    Dear Community,
For about 1 month now, my ipad (Verizon 32gb Wi-Fi +Lte) which is running IOS 5.1.1 has been dropping the 4g lte signal at an increasing rapid place in the NYC/ Long Island Area. While i would normally attribute this to Verizon's coverage, the fact is that i am operating in the same area i have been since i purchased the ipad on march 16th. Previously, the ipad held the signal flawlessly and with at least 4 bars.
Now it will show 4 bars and then all of the sudden go to "cannot connect to Network"
I have removed and put back in the sim card and I have also reset my network connections but none of this has seem to have had an effect.
Does anyone else suffer from this issue and know a workaround or at least have a suggestion as to whether or not to visit apple or verizon?
    Thanks
    Andy

I am having this same issue with my Verizon LTE iPad. I am in the NYC area near Grand Central. I will have full service, and then I will randomly lose service. My connection does come after a few second, however the brief outage impacts music/video streaming, etc.

  • Airport Drops Signal - UPDATE, no fix

I've been having the same problem as most of the people in this forum right now. Dropped or weak airport signal, even though your sitting right next to the router. People have seemed to attributed the problem to firmware updates on the card or the basestation. It happened to me right when I updated to 10.4.4 and the APEX to 6.3, right around the time of Macworld.
So I went to the Apple store today to see if the genius bar could help me out. The 2 guys there had seen the problem recently in a few other computers, and we were able to diagnose it as a software/firmware problem. They had no official information directly from Apple about the problem, but assured me that they watch these boards and probably know about this problem.
Their diagnosis was to either send the PB in for a $300 repair, which wouldn't fix it anyway, or wait for the next update and hope that that fixes it. Not the answer that I wanted, but at least I know i'm not going crazy.
Can we find a way to fix it temporarily? Anyone been successful downgrading firmware or doing an erase and install? Has anyone had a different result finding a fix? I'm really not enjoying being tethered to my 20 ft ethernet cable right now.

I actually tried that a while back, but no luck. It doesn't seem to be an issue with my basestation. I know alot of people have had fixes when they downgraded firmware in their Airport Extreme Base Stations, but for me, its and issue with my Powerbook.
I know this because i'm using a Dlink router. But i tried my APEX basestation and still no luck. Went to my mom's house and couldn't see her network. Tried it at work and weak and dropped signal there. The final nail in the coffin was at the Apple store where I could barely pick up their network while I was surrounded by macs that had full signal.
I did an archive and install, downgraded to 10.4, and then tried to install the updates one by one, no luck. I checked the firmware on the card, which said 3.5.something, but it was still not working. I went throught all the updates and the signal never got better. I set-up new users, trashed preferences, reset PRAM, fixed permissions, all the regular stuff, still broken.
I KNOW it's an issue with my computer, not the basestation. I did get a pop-up window that asked me to upgrade my airport when i installed the 10.4.4combo update. I'm wondering if that did it.

Does this happen with other networks?
    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>GeneralReset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

  • I have a 2nd gen airport extreme (no time capsule) and 2nd gen airport expresses:  is there any new additons I can make to my existing network to improve reach and integrity of signal?

I have the older airport extreme and 2 2nd gen airport expresses in a large house.  Lately I have been getting complaints about internet  "drop out" and weak signal (orange signal - weak network)  in one (oddly enough the nearest one to my extreme).  What can I do to insure network and internet integrity going forward. Do I buy a new a. extreme and convert the old one (how is also a question)?  Do I buy new expresses?  (and why) Do I move the original express out of room and get longer internet cable?  Extreme is upstairs in a split level and must remain there because of proximity to modem and its connection to security. The "working" express is all the way on the other side of the house through 2 concrete walls and does ok - though signal is understandable week. The nearer one with the "problems" is at the foot of the stairs less than 50 feet away, behind an always closed door  (not tested-belongs to teenager voicing complaints).  Incidentally the other bedroom directly across from the closed door one, houses a temporary adult child at home who has no problems with their lap top (2nd gen macbook) and signal.

There is no easy answer to your question, but here are some things to think about.
The newest generation of airport extremes and expresses are dual-band devices. they transmit on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. the 2.4 GHz frequency penetrates walls better than the 5 GHz frequency which is faster in terms of data throughput. they also have improved antennas which may help your signal problems. unfortunately the only way to be sure would be trial and error you can also walk around with a laptop and monitor the signal strength to see where you have dropouts and consider repositioning your express devices to compensate .

  • WRT150N Drops connection

I have a WRT150N that worked great when I got it, but now it won’t  stay connected. I have a computer that is wired into the router and works fine. But the wireless keeps on dropping.  I have had this issues for a while now and it's beginning to be a pain in the **bleep**.  When I refresh the network it picks up the signal but won't connect and sometimes won't reconnect for minutes or even hours, it says its full strength signal but still won't connect. Usually to solve the problem I just unplug the router and modem and reboot both, and that usually solves the problem for a while then it acts up again.  I changed the encryption to WPA2 and that seemed to work for a few days but then it started dropping again. Even Signal speed is also problem it will start out at 54Mbps then lower to 24Mbps then 11Mbps and 1.0Mbps but the signal strength is good to excellent, so that is not the problem.
I have tried multiple computers on XP, Vista and even a MAC. and dose the same on every computer, I've moved the router around the house, and that is not the problem. Dose anyone have a solution?
    Thanks,

Ok Thanks, I'll check that out.
First of all my Router has the latest firmware, that's the first thing I checked.
I changed the channel and Network to "Only-G", see how that works out.
I cannot change the local IP address to what it says 192.168.2.1 because that's what my modem uses, and if I change the Router to that then I won't be able to access my modem because they will have the same local IP address.
I will work on and see is the other changes work but it may take a day or so to really give it a try.
I noticed in another posting to change the Beacon Interval to 75 and the RTS & Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, for users of Vista and Win 7. Right now I only have XP and a MAC computer using this connection. Should I change those settings as well for now to help??
Oh yeah, and I am connected with a DSL connection.

  • 2.0.2 Update - Calls dropping more than before

Ever since I got the 2.0.2 update for my my 3G iPhone, I have had more calls get dropped and a worse signal (more static). It seems like my phone keeps switching between 3G and the Edge Network every couple hundred yards when moving or every 5 minutes when stationary. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix out for this?

2.02 is a no go then.
Good thing I click on the link before I went to Next.
But where are the release notes? (you know - like specific fixes)
Does it changes/shortens the timeout sessions on the 3G network?
Will it restrict/change certain e-mail protocols?
    Does it still brick jailbreakers?
Must've reduced the radio watts. To satisfy battery complaints. Turn off the dang Bluetooth! The 2.4Ghz has been a greater improvement to my iTouch battery consumption.
Could be a Ping or Echo overflow?(ok i'm just trowing stuff on that one)
