Dropping the "1" in my zip cide

Weird thing happening in Safari. My zip code is 19064. When I type in a field on a web page Safari drops the 1. If I type in 19047, it does not. Only my zip code. Happens with Autofill forms too.

There are numerous reports of this weird bug. Until you upgrade to 10.4.3, delete the zip code from your card in Address Book. This will prevent Safari from attempting to autofill it.

Take it somewhere that has better broadband. The best you can do sometimes is invest in new modem that works with your system instead of the rental etc in most cases.
Do a Safe Boot.
Make sure your firewall is set properly. Don't use 3rd party. AV software can get in the way.
Make sure you are getting the service and a clean strong modem signal - slow is one thing but if it drops off and can't maintain a connection you have hardware issues, not software - and upgrade to a new OS doesn't tend to improve, it may even not work with older networking equipment once you do get it.
I agree and think electronic only goes too far. And when you do get it: burn the package and manually set it aside first before running the intaller! make a flash memory installer, put it on DVDs too.

How to find who dropped the table

Hi Gurus,
Is there a way beside auditing to know who dropped the table,i know we could use logminer for that but the thing is that i don't have supplemental logging turned on while the table got dropped.
I think we need to have supplemental logging enabled to find who did what even for the DDL correct?
Is there any way i can find who dropped the table?

ThanksI can think about 2 different ways to do it ;
1- by using Audit http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/Auditing_10gR2.php ; if it's enabled
2- or there another method , does not give a real precision, but could be helpful if the audit is not enabled ; can be to check listener log. Listener does show database connection requests. So if you know the time the table was dropped (SELECT DROPTIME
FROM DBA_RECYCLEBIN
WHERE Owner = 'XXX'
AND ORIGINAL_NAME= 'YYYYYY'), you can see from the listener log what connected to the database at that time. (asuming that the connection request was from a remote client, not the DB server)
E.g if I found that the table were dropped at 14:45:18 then I can tell from my listener log that it is probably due to a user connected by the portal application on host portal.es6.orawiss.net:

Listener logs are an important source of audit information.

I am using Oracle 10g R2 on windows 2000 platform,while dropping the table the following error occured.
ORA-00604 : error occurred at recursive sql level 1.
ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows.
Need urgent help.

Is there an AFTER EVENT trigger defined on this database? Can you check that?
Secondly, was this database migrated from earlier version? I remember having seen this problem on 9i (it was 9.2.0.1 or 9.2.0.2; I can't recall exactly).

Here's the short-cut solution:
Green Apple tracks are MIDI files (so to speak). If you drag one from the loop browser (Capitol C Orchestral hit, as you mentioned in this exable) directly into the arrange page it creates the MIDI file and the instrument to play it back on.
HOWEVER.If you create and audio track first, THEN drag the green Apple loop onto that track, the loop will get "bounced" with the reverb in tact and you'll have the exact sound that you heard in the preview.
Make sense?

After sorting photos into albums, the albums disappeared on me. I dragged and dropped the photos and went back to check that they were in place before exiting the program. When I went back, the folder was there but no albums. Help!

Working on an IMac - with IPhoto v.9.6
This is my first experience with IPhoto... trying to move files from a PC over to a Mac.
I don't have a ton of photos but I created about 6 albums - standard albums - and dragged and dropped individual photos into each of the albums. I named each of the albums as well so I would know what was in each. After i was finished, I created a folder called 2014 and moved each of the albums into that folder. Before moving ANY of the albums, I opened each of them up to make sure that all the photos I wanted in each were indeed there - and since there were some errors on my part, I deleted any duplicates first. SO, I KNOW the photos were actually in each of the albums BEFORE i moved them into the 2014 folder.
My intention was to then delete the photo files in my document file but once I got there I thought I would go back and double check the IPhoto file just to make sure... and the pictures were NOT in the albums where I had placed them... is there a need to save this before you move on and if so, to where and how? I was under the impression that once files were moved to albums, they remain there.
The photos are still in the photo library but unsorted now again... I cannot even open the 2014 folder at this point.

Was back on IPhoto this morning. The folder did not open at all so I deleted it. Beside Albums, nothing showed at all. It was like I had done no work at all except to import my photo folder. Nothing was in my trash bin either.
I started again and created one album at a time. I dragged and dropped photos into the album and exited out of IPhoto, opened up other programs and then returned to IPhoto to see if the album was still there and it was this time. I created a second album and did the same thing. This time, for some reason, the albums seem to be staying in place. I am not doing anything differently than last time. After creating three albums, I created a folder called 2014 and dragged and dropped the three albums into the folder and exited IPhoto. They were still there when I returned - YEAH! It seems to be working - for now! I am keeping my fingers crossed that my photos are not going to disappear but I am not going to delete my photo folder from my files just in case!
Thanks for the suggestions but this may just have been a funny glitch... not sure what happened. I didn't change anything or do anything differently this time except that I am doing it one album at a time and exiting the program between creating each of them and coming back to check... very strange.

How do I stop a copy of backup files? Time Machine filled my extern HD, I bought a 2TB, drag and drop the old backup files and now my iMac has been stuck in "preparing copy" mode all night.

My 235 MB external HD was full, I bought a new 2TB and dragged and dropped the old backup files to it. Now my iMac is frozen in "preparing copy" mode. How can I 'unfreeze' it? How should I move the backup files from one external HD to the other?

Issue: when open a doc, the doc goes to .zip file instead of going to the doc directly. Only this issue happens for .xlsx,docs and pptx document.
Note: On all client machine, we are using office 2007 and IE8 browser
Cause: On 16<sup>th</sup> July 2013, . Net framework 4.5 is install on all our GI-D desktop machines. There after the issue is started .
Application Background: Applications built on .net framework 1.1 and it can support up to 4.0 version on client machine to view the documents through panagon and MGETDOC application. Panagon (Filenet content services) is
not supported in .net framework 4.5 and above.
Work around: After I had troubleshooting and tested with one of our system which has .net framework 4.5, IE8 does not support with HTML5 and tested with IE9 and Chrome, documents were able to open successfully.
I had removed .Net framework 4.5 uninstalled and able to open the documents w/o any issue. And also we had give the work around as if the doc goes to zip file, they open the doc by removing the . zip extension and they can save it as .xlsx or docx file and
they can able to open file.

Presumably you're using Safari?
You can change that in Safari Preferences (at least in 5.0.3, might be different in 5.1.x)
The checkbox at the bottom will do that for you. However! I strongly advise against permitting that; there have been, and no doubt will be again, malware that uses that to bypass authentication.
Just select Desktop as the default download location so you don't have to dig for the files.

How do I drop the last 3 characters in a string?

Hello. I'm trying to find a way to drop the last 3 characters in a string. The length varies because it is a last name field. The problem is that when a customer has a suffix on their name, III for example, it is appended to the last name all in the last name field. If I use the ProperCase function, I end up with "Smith Iii". How can I tell it to drop the last 3 characters? I'll then append an UpperCase edition of the last 3 characters to that. Thank you!

I have a temp table that we use like staging table to import the data in to the main table through some scheduled procedures.And that will dropped every day and will be created through the script.
Some how while I am trying to drop the table manually got hanged, There after I could not find that table in dba_objects, dba_tables or any where.
But Now I am unable to create that table manually(Keep on running the create command with out giving any error), Even I am not getting any error (keep on running )if I give drop/desc of table.
Can you please any one help on this ? Is it some where got stored the table in DB or do we any option to repair the table ?

if this table drops then it moved DBA_RECYCLEBIN table. and also original name of its changed automatically by oracle.
For example :
SQL> create table tst (col varchar2(10), row_chng_dt date);
Table created.
SQL> insert into tst values ('Version1', sysdate);

If the RECYCLEBIN initialization parameter is set to ON (the default in 10g), then dropping this table will place it in the recyclebin:
SQL> drop table tst;
Table dropped.
SQL> select object_name, original_name, type, can_undrop as "UND", can_purge as "PUR", droptime
2 from recyclebin

All that happened to the table when we dropped it was that it got renamed. The table data is still there and can be queried just like a normal table:
SQL> alter session set nls_date_format='HH24:MI:SS' ;

COL        ROW_CHNG

Since the table data is still there, it's very easy to "undrop" the table. This operation is known as a "flashback drop". The command is FLASHBACK TABLE... TO BEFORE DROP, and it simply renames the BIN$... table to its original name:
SQL> flashback table tst to before drop;
Flashback complete.
SQL> select * from tst ;
COL        ROW_CHNG
Version1   16:10:03
SQL> select * from recyclebin ;
no rows selected
It's important to know that after you've dropped a table, it has only been renamed; the table segments are still sitting there in your tablespace, unchanged, taking up space. This space still counts against your user tablespace quotas, as well as filling up the tablespace. It will not be reclaimed until you get the table out of the recyclebin. You can remove an object from the recyclebin by restoring it, or by purging it from the recyclebin.
SQL> select object_name, original_name, type, can_undrop as "UND", can_purge as "PUR", droptime

SQL> /

I am trying to reply or send a email to a email address that has a full stop in the username ie [email protected] When the email sends it drops the surname ie [email protected] I have checked the address from the reply and it is correct even if I type it in it still has the same issue. While im playing games and their running choppy and slow and if i take a snap shot inside the phone. They run smooth and HD but just for a few seconds and boom they go back to slow and choppy. Is it the ios 7 or the iphone 5s it self? Like i said this is my replacement iphone 5s because the other 5s did the same thing. And it was running slowly.

As far as I know you can't delete the primary email address for an iCloud account. It's assigned when the account is created. But your neighbor wouldn't have been able to get into your iCloud account without your Apple ID and password. Are you sure the account wasn't still on your phone when you gave it to him?
You could migrate a copy of your data to a new iCloud account but I would still be concerned that someone else was using my old account, which presumably still has your data in it.
I'm fairly certain that you're going to have to have iCloud support help you sort this one out as they may have the ability to make changes to an existing account that users can't. Make an appointment with the genius bar at a nearby Apple store and have them take a look at it. If necessary, they should be able to contact iCloud support for you.
