Dropshadow Added in PS Elements but won't import into FCP

Whenever I add a shadow in PS Elements everything works fine, but when I import the file into FCP the shadow doesn't appear. Does anyone have any suggestions? Other than buying the real PS. ; )

Luke, I don't need to reminded about the points...I'm one of the good guys. OK, so when I save as a JPEG or Flatten I am forced to import a white background with the image. How do I turn off the background after saving as JPEG or flattening? Thanks!!!

  • After effects animation Codec won't import into FCP

    Hi
I have used After Effects to do a green screen key on some HD 1080i footage.
I then went to export - quicktime movie - animation
I understand that the animation codec is the only way to export with an alpha channel so that I can put other footage in after my nice green screen key.
I set quality to best and frame rate to 25, I also tried frame rate as current and it exports and plays back fine in quicktime movie player, but won't import into final Cut.
The error message is "wrong frame rate"
Does anyone have any suggestions? I am quite new to after effects and wonder if there is something wrong with the way it is seeing the footage as I shot in widescreen and the image is squeezed as for a 4:3 TV aspect ratio.
    Thanks.
    Ajay

    1. Check your AE composition settings (cmd-k) and be sure your frame rate is set to 25... AE uses the frane rate of your composition and not the settings in your export module...
    2. Do not use the "export" command in AE... that is used only for special purposes only (i.e. for using "quicktime exporto compnents" not available under the export queue)...
    3. use the "make movie" or "add to export queue" command instead
    4. You expot module should be set as:
    - best settings
    - animation + alpha
do not specify any frame rate in the export module!! AE automatically uses the frame rate in your composition settings!!
    5. Export and import into fcp...
I never had problems with AE animation+alpha and fcp 6.0.1

  • LiveType .ipr won't import into FCP - File type not recognized

LiveType file is greyed out when trying to import into FCP as a Standard File type. If we change Standard File to All Files we get an error stating, "File Error: 1 file recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown."
The project and media are on an external FWHD, originally edited on a G5, moved to the G4 FWHD with Media Manager.
We've trashed FCP preference files, repaired permissions, checked ownership of files on the FWHD, created new LT files on the internal drive to no avail.
Is it time for a reinstall of FCP Suite?

This is usually two things: In compatible versions of FCP or a missing element that allows the .ipr files to be imported. I have forgotten what the enabler is but it's obviously working on your G5 or you wouldn't be asking the question. If you create a LT file on your G4, can you import it into FCP on the G$?
(You can search the forum for similar problems, it comes up about twice a month.)
That leaves the problem of incompatible copies of FCP. You have not provided that information. FCP is not backwards compatible.

  • M4V clip won't import into FCP

I'm trying to import an M4V file into FCP, but it wont. Is there anyway to turn it into a Quicktime file or some other format?

I had the same problem. Frustrating. I fixed it by pulling the video into Compressor and changing it to an Apple ProRes422 codec. That works fine for FCP. I wish it would handle the file directly like Premier, but at least this works. Good luck.

  • Videos won't import into iTunes 7

I want to put some of my own videos onto my new iPod video, but I can't put any videos into iTunes. I've tried dragging and dropping, "import" and "add file". And nothign ever shows up. How am I suppossed to put video into itunes that I don't buy from the iTunes store? Thanks for the help.

This also happens with me. I have an Intel Core Duo 17", running iTunes 7.1 with the latest Quicktime, and OS 10.4.4. My movies work great in Quicktime, but won't import into iTunes at all. When I try to drop them on my iPod directly, it tells me that my 5th gen iPod can't display video.
I brought my iPod into work today, and hooked it up to the G5/dual 1.8 tower here, also running iTunes 7, and quicktime (7.1.3 I think?), OS 10.3.9. I was able to drop the videos directly into iTunes, and they showed up fine. I was also able to then put the video on my iPod.
As for the video, I converted them to .mp4 files with a 3rd party converter from .mpg files.
Interested to see what the solution is. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem!

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • Organizer in Photoshop Elements 9 won't import large NEF files

Photoshop Elements 9 won't import the NEF fiels from my new Nikon D800.

Yes, the camera is too new for PSE9. You will have to either:
    Upgrade to PSE11
Download the free Adobe DNG Converter Version 7.3 and use that to convert your NEFs to DNGs, and then PSE9 will be able to import them
Use the Nikon software to convert the file to TIF, then import into PSE.

  • M4p's (iTunes) won't import into Logic

The music supervisor for a film I'm working on suggested that I download some specific tracks from iTunes and lay them up against picture (as temp only) to give me an idea of the the mood he wants for various scenes. But wouldn't ya know, iTunes files are .m4p's and won't import into Logic. Or will they? Am I missing something?
(And BTW, using the "Convert Selection to WAV" in iTunes doesn't work for m4p files -- an error message comes up saying "_____ cannot be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats.")

    hello...
    I've had success importing 2 ways;
right click/ctrl-click song in iTunes:convert to mP3; import
the best solution has been to create an audio track and import directly into the track. The 'import' on the main menu does not seem to import what the audio track will import. I ran into this same issue for a while until I tried the second option and had no problem.
Also...burn the track onto an audio cd then import the audio track from the cd (no longer an mp4a)

  • Won't import into ipod.. urrrghhhh

I have a bunch of songs that I downloaded, and they won't upload into my ipod. They have been changed to AAC's, so that should be ok.. I downloaded about 500 songs at once. They work fine in my itunes library, just won't upload. Ever since i put those in my library, songs that I have BOUGHT from itunes or ripped from my cd's won't upload into my ipod either. can anyone help?
PS - when I click update ipod, it says it has updated. the screen on the ipod still says do not disconnect.

I'm having the same problem. Bought a 30GB video ipod...at first it all worked, did the update for the ipod and itunes....all of a sudden, everything went wrong. Had to uninstall, reinstall, restored the ipod, and now the only music i can put on my ipod are ones that i've ripped from my cd's, anything that i've bought from the music store won't work for some reason. They play in itunes but won't upload into itunes. And when I do put them into the ipod, it says "Itunes has encountered a problem and must close". Very frustrating!!! Help if you can!!! Thanks!!!

  • I have 1000  photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read.  Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al.  What gives?

I have 1000  photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read.  Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al.  Any thoughts?

It’s part of the basic install of OS X. So unless you deleted it then it’s there in your apps folder. If you have deleted it, it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. You will be able to extract the installation package using Pacifist.
Alternatively, if you’re using almost any camera +apart from a Canon+ then the camera card is visible on the desktop and you can drag the movie to the desktop using the Finder and import from there.
No matter what camera you use, if you pop the card from it into a USB Card Reader then it will be accessible via the Finder. Card Readers are inexpensive and all round a better idea.
    Why use a Card Reader?
Because it’s safer: Less risk of your images being lost if your camera shuts down during transfer.
Because it saves the battery on your camera
Because it saves wear and tear on your camera ports
    Because it’s almost always faster.

  • Driver Added to Boot.wim but won't recognise on PXE boot

Hi, this is a bit of an odd one.
I have taken the boot.wim file from Windows 7 Pro DVD > Sources folder. I have injected the correct network driver (tested within online image using drvload, I get an IP address), committed this to wim and then added into WDS environment:
Windows Server 2003, WDS not sure what version (how can I find this out)?
I have DOUBLE checked that the .INF file for this driver I have injected is in fact showing in the C:\windows\system32\driverstore etc by mounting wim again and checking the mount folder.
When I PXE boot and select this boot image however, I still receive the 'WDSclient, unable to match network driver' error.
If I hit shift + F10 and manually load the exact same driver from USB, I can again get an IP address afterwards! So I know for a fact I am injecting the correct driver. It's almost as if the setup.exe process isnt loading the driver even though the file
    is there.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Solved! Well, using a workaround.
Installed WDS on one of our Windows 2008 servers so I had the additional options within WDS to add driver packages etc. Added driver this way then exported the image and imported into the original WDS server. Works fine.
Can't just switch to using the 2008 server full time currently as I'm on a tight deadline to roll an image out and the network has many vlans, I'd have to change config to allow traffic from our build network VLAN environment to new WDS server etc.

  • Elements 10 Won't import images

I upgraded from Elements 6 to 10 last week. The problem is that suddenly my images won't import. I plug in the camera and it begins the process, I see 4 thumbnail images show up, then the rest of the thumbnails after that just display an hourglass image. The whole process seems to start, then lock up. But if I try to  import the same images from the same camera with my old computer using Elements 6, there is no problem at all, and all of the images import. Even tho I just upgraded to 10 recently, is there an update or fix for Elements 10 I need to go looking for?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
It maybe the way I'm reading your posts but are you saying that you were using PSE 6 on the Windows 7 system or did you change system and PSE 6 to 10 at the same time?
I don't have a T1 but I have tried it with an 40D and it seemed to work OK. Have you tried turning off the advanced "Get" options like red eye fix? If windows can transfer the photos then it must be something extra that PSE is doing. Perhaps doing a catalog optimise may help.
I'm afraid that I'm one of those that use a card reader to download the photos.

  • Can't import photos into iPhoto-- it sees them but won't import

I've been using iPhoto with my Mac Mini for almost a year now without a single issue (that's the main reason I bought a mac). I believe I have iPhoto 08 (I bought the computer 1 year ago). I have a newer Canon point-and-shoot that I've been using. About 1 month ago I did a software update to iPhoto, so it's pretty much up to date.
Everything has been fine for almost a year, then all the sudden, iPhoto hangs when I try to import my latest batch of photos. It will pull them into the import preview window (I can see all of them), but when I try to "Import All" it just hangs. I have to turn off the camera just to get the program to unfreeze (after patiently waiting a few minutes). For some odd reason, just 1 of the 70 photos makes it in (there are a few videos, but they won't import either).
    Here's the error message:
    Unreadable Files: 69
The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data).
    MVI_2498.AVI

    IMG_2602.JPG
    MVI_2603.AVI
    MVI_2604.AVI
    MVI_2610.AVI
Any ideas? I'm desperate because there's some wonderful picks of our kids on there that I don't want to lose.
    Thanks a bunch
