Droste Effects

Has anybody tried new droste effect in Apple Motion 5 ? How to applied the effect ?
How is it compare with Adobe After Effects Droste Plug in ?
I'm new in motion graphics, trying to figure it out how to use it.

Can’t say how it compares with Adobe After Effects ? Unfortunately, I don’t have that.
But, try this in Motion 5:
From the Library drag the “Droste” effect into the Viewport, or onto the image/movie
in the Layers... (Droste becomes a child of your image/movie layer).
In the Inspector / Filters play with the settings / be gentle with the InsetPoints...
Expect the unexpected.... The distortions are absolutely amazing...

In the past you could use pixel bender to create the droste effect, that is what I have found out from the internet.
But how to create that effect today seams non existent on the net!

Right. Pixel Bender is gone. It was an experimental filter available from Adobe Labs but never made it into an actual product release. As of CS6, Oil Paint filter was introduced. It's not the same thing but more like a shaved down version of Pixel Bender.
Look at Filter Forge. They offer a 30-day trial. Disclaimer: I've never used it myself.

Welcome to the forum.
I second Curt's suggestion to trash Prefs. They can become corrupted, and uninstalling/reinstalling will NOT change the Prefs file.
You say that you have not made any changes, but how do you have your OS set, regarding updating?
Did not catch your OS, but with Windows, the default is to automatically update, and this is usually transparent, in that the user never even knows that an OS was performed. The problem with this is that a simple OS update, or hot-fix, can render, say a video driver obsolete. If one is using OpenGL, an obsolete video driver can create issues. I would check your make/model of video card/chip, and then the installed driver. Go to the mfgr's Web site, plug in your model of card, and your OS, and check to see if you have the very latest video driver. If not, download that, follow the instructions carefully (usually just install and reboot, but check), and install. I think that Mac OS updates include video driver updates, but am a PC-only guy, so do not know for certain.

Pixel Bender and the Droste Effect plugin from Adobe Labs

I was just wanting to know if the above plugin can be used with PSE 11, since PSE 11 is based on CS5, and CS5 is what the plugin is designed for.....? It would be a genuine blast to work with a filter like that; I can think of a dozen different pictures I'd try making with it.

I don't know about the Droste Effect, but Pixel Bender doesn't work with PSE, alas.

Droste Effect Crashes PS CS4.

I have installed the Pixel Bender plug-in. It appears in the list of Filters. I installed the Droste Effect and it appears in the Gallery.
With a photo displayed and selected, all of the default items in the Pixel Bender gallery work as advertized.
However, the Droste Effect causes an error message saying "The operation cannot be completed" and Photoshop CS4/64 running on Windows 7 crashes and has to be closed.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, at least 3 of the brushes in the file are corrupt.
The first one is corrupt in a bizarre way that we didn't expect. I'm adding some extra error checking for that case now,
The next 2 corrupt brushes are just corrupt bitmap data and just give an error (not compatible, and wrong version).
Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can recover any of them.
If you have those brushes in CS3, I suggest saving a couple copies to new locations and seeing which ones load correctly in CS4. I'm not sure how the file was corrupted - it could be disk errors, a virus, etc. so there are no guarantees.

How do i add a .pbk effect from adobe in adobe extension manager CS5

Does anyone know how to add an effect like the droste effect which is a .pbk file into a pixel bender file which is a .mxp file for the Adobe Extension Manager CS5. I have yet to find a solution for this problem but all help is appreciated. Thank you.

First update to the newest Illustrator version if needed. The SVG files you create with Adobe Shape CC are added to your Libraries and are accessible from many desktop applications. From Illustrator create a new document. Open the Libraries panel and right-click on the Shape file and choose Use in document. Then click on the Illustrator file to place the Shape. Save the file to your Creative Cloud Files folder and it will sync up to the Files section at https://assets.adobe.com.

Droste filter crashes AE cs5

I recently downloaded the Droste filter. Whenever I try to use it, it crashes AE cs5 immediately with the error message: After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking effect plug-in “Droste”.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you.

We can't know. you have not provided any system information or otehr details. Since PixelBender uses hardware acceleration, the bog standard answer would be that your graphics hardware is incompatible or at least you need to update your drivers.

Preview of loops has effect on it (digital delay)??

Previewing my drum loops (all music loops actually) ... I'm picking up digital delay. Where is it coming from?
When I drag the loop to the arrange window the effect is still there ... even though there is no effect assigned to that particular audio track.
I'm just getting up to speed on this Logic update. So I'm at a loss. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

This is only happening when I am using the beat mapping. I have a piece of audio I've 'beat-mapped'. Now I want to add a loop to it. But the loop previews, and the loops when I add them to the audio track, have some weird digital delay effect on them.
This isn't happening if I'm NOT doing a beat map. Everything is normal.

How do I get loops to keep the effect settings I hear when previewing?

When I place loops into a new track, the effects settings go away and it is simply a dry signal. How can I move a loop from the browser into a new track and have it keep the effects settings that I hear when I preview the loop?

If you drag a green MIDI loop onto the Arrange window space, it should create a Software instrument track with all the required plug-ins for the sound, so don't drag it to an already existing Software instrument track.
If you drag it to an audio track it will convert it to an audio file, so obviously the instrument/fx plug-ins wont be in the channel strip.

I am trying to install after effects, but no matter what version I try to download, there is always a different error not allowing me to open or use the program after I have already installed it.

I have recently repurposed an iMac from late 2009 as an editing machine, and have been trying to install preferably After Effects CS6. When I install and try to open it for the first time, the program quits unexpectedly and continues to do the same every time I try to reopen the program. After no luck experimenting trying to fix the problem, I attempted to download the trial of After Effects CC 2014 to see if the problem was with the computer or with the application. After installing CC, there was another error when I attempted to open it. My final attempt was taking After Effects CS5 from an old hard-drive and attempting to open it on the iMac. When I open CS5 I am greeted with another error message telling me to reinstall After Effects. After reinstalling I get the same message.
I am confused to whether my computer can handle After Effects, or there is another error occurring.
Any help would be appreciated.

How to change default open and close effect in JavaFX TabPane

I'm interested how I can change the default effect of closing and opening a tab in JavaFX TabPAne. I found that this can be configured by using:

But which effects are available?

Change the Body style and any other styles in :
+Menu > Show Styles Drawer > click on the little triangle next to Body > redefine Style from Selection+
Capture the page:
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Capture Pages… > Name it > OK+
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Manage Pages… > Delete other Sections/Pages > OK+
Save as a template:
+Menu > File > Save as Template…+
+Menu > Pages > Preferences > General Preferences > For New Documents > click Use template: > Choose > browse to the template above+

Open and Close Shelf Effect

Relative newb to Flash and not sure what the issue is but I have a shelf opening and closing effect The timeline is 45 frames long and when the shelf is out it has this AS3 code in it:

Once clicked, the shelf closes and only a sliver of the shelf appears.   The person can re-open it by clicking the sliver at frame 30 using this code:

In the last frame (45) I have the code:
gotoAndStop(16)
which should return the shelf to its open position and allow the user to close it again if they click in the shelf, but it seems to be listening at at frame 30 and just running the Open Shelf motion again. I would just like the user to be able to open and close the shelf as they like. Any help would be apprecaited.

See if removing the event lsteners in the event handlers helps, as in...
ShelfOpen.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, closeShelf);

   ShelfOpen.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, closeShelf);
   gotoAndPlay(17);
(similarly for the other)
and make sure you are not using commas after ShelfOPen like you did in the code you posted.

After Effects CS5.5 Wont Open - Application Just Bounces In The Dock.

Hi all,
I appear to have encountered a problem with After Effects... I was working on a project earlier today which usalizes a VideoCopilot plug-in called Element 3D. After a quick break I came back to the project and attempted to load in the 'Free Earth Project' by VideoCopilot. (http://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2012/08/free-earth-project-for-element-3d/). As their site suggests, I had to place a downloaded project folder called 'Earth' into Element 3D's 'My_Models' folder. Immediately after this I tried loading After Effects and encountered the issue. I'm not sure if it's couincidence or directly related which is why I am posting here.
After Effects does nothing but bounce in the Dock. When I right-click the application I'm met with a 'Force Quit' option, and a message saying "Application not responding". I'm on OS X 10.7.4. I'm not able to tell you what version of AE I'm running, only that it's CS5.5, as I cannot lanch it to find out. All other Adobe products work with no problem.
I have already contacted the support team at VideoCopilot and they have sent me an updated build of Element 3D in an attempt to resolve the issue, unfortunately though this did not work. Addiitonally, I have tried booting into Safe-Mode and tried to launch the application from there, as well as using Disk-Utility to 'Repair Permissions'. All of these steps have failed to get AE working again.
If anyone knows of a way to fix this I would be most grateful. I'm working to a very tight deadline and am afraid that I will miss it. Additionally, if anyone has any fixes that doesn't require reinstalling applications that'll be a bonus!

Effectively use is for what? On your computer you can log into iCloud at www.icloud.com and locate your device. Or you can use a different iOS device and the Find My iPhone app to do the same thing.
