DS-BW:Data load called from BW failed after Source System program_id change
Hi,
In my BW 7.0 instance I have Data Services 3.2 as source system.
Some time ago I have changed instance of Data Services I am connecting to - I just changed PROGRAM_ID in RFC connection parameters for that source system.
Since that time when I am trying to execute infopackage to call a job I am getting following error:
OCI call <OCISessionBegin> for connection <xxxxxxx> failed: <ORA-01017: inv
where <xxxxxx> is Oracle database connection name for Data Services instance I connected originally.
What can be reason for that?
Regards,
ak
In Data Services Server Manager on DS box there were configurations for job server I connected originally and for the other job server. After removing original config it works fine.

Extraction failing after source system and client copy
Hi all,
We refreshed our source QA system with a copy of production. And basically tried to "restore" the connection from our BW QA system. Some of the datasources can be extracted from BW, others fail with an error of "No transfer structure is available for InfoSource 0COSTCENTER_ATTR in the source system".
Trying to do the same thing with RSA3 in the source system, works fine.
The strange thing is it works for some objects but not others.
here's what we did:
1. System copy from R3 Prod to R3 QA
2. Client copy with R3 QA client 300 -> 200
3. Restore connectivity in BW QA to the R3 QA system (Using RSA1 -> Source System -> Restore)
4. Now some objects can be extracted in BW, others fail as I mentioned above.
I have regenerated the transfer structures in BW and R3.
All of these objects that don't work seem to work in RSA3 on the R3 system but not in RSA1 on BW.
All the SAP documentation is geared to copying the R3 source system and then restoring connectivity between BW and R3. I don't think any of it involves copying the client in the R3 source system - which might be causing our problems.
We are using an SAP delivered PDF and note 886102 mainly for direction.
SAP PDF is "How to... System Copy in SAP Business Intelligence System Landscapes".
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
KevinHi,
can you isolate somehow the kind of DataSource which works and those who don't?
Master data / transactional or client dependent and not, delta or full....
To which R/3 client is your BW connected? when you succeed loading the data, is it coming from the right client?
RSA3: do you run it specifying your BW client in the target sys field? does it make a difference if yes or if not?
Are your RFC connections and partner profiles all right?
Check some IDOCs sent by BW received in R/3 and vice-versa (RSSEND, RSINFO, RSRQST..). Load a hierarchy (via IDOC)... verify that your IDOC have the correct partner settings....
let us know
Olivier.

Is it possible to execute the Data Load Utility from a button?
I want to have a button on a form to load spreadsheet data each day.
Can the XE Utility to load data be called from a button?
How? It is not in any of the documentation I looked at.
JeanNo. The "data load button" is not something you can embed in your applications. However, there are solutions to your problem that have been developed by some very talented folks. Take a look at Vikas' examples here: http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=38131:1
Although it wasn't designed with XE it should work just fine.

Data load failure - SPLIT PARTITION FAILED
Hi ,
We are trying to load data into PSA from R/3. But its giving the error "SPLIT PARTITION FAILED".
The basis has Confirmed that there are no space issues.
Has Anybody faced this error.
Regards,
Mayankhi,
as a first thought, i suggest you look at the incoming data, is it that values coming in records cannot be stored in existing partitions something like out of range.
hope this helps

Load of XML datstore fails after change of PK in from numeric to varchar
I am facing the following problem.
I am trying to load an XML datastore (target) from an Oracle table (source) via an interface.
The primary key in the Oracle table is of data type varchar. However, the primary key in the XML datastore after reverse engineering is created as datatype numeric. When I change the data type of the XML data store PK from numeric to varchar and then execute the interface the load fails with error:
Wrong data type for input string.
Taking the geo_dim.xml in the ODI demo folder as an example I take the following steps:
- I reverse engineered the geo_dim XML that creates amongst other things the Country datastore in the XML model
- When reverse engineering, ODI adds surrogate PK keys to the XML datastore. These are of data type numeric.
- I change this surrogate PK key to data type varchar via the ODI designer and load the XML via an Interface from an Oracle source table that has a PK of type varchar.
- The load of the XML datastore fails with the error "Wrong data type for input string."
Looks like a bug to me. Any ideas?
Thanks
uliI figured this one out myself. As part of the JDBC URL you can submit a parameter ni. If set to false this will generate FKs and PKs as varchar.
It's in the documentation:
numeric_id or ni
No
boolean (true | false)
true
If set to true, all internal Primary and Foreign Keys are of NUMERIC type. Otherwise, they are of the VARCHAR type. -
Data load stuck from DSO to Master data Infoobject
Hello Experts,
We have this issue where data load is stuck between a DSO and master data infoobject
Data uploads from DSO( std) to master data infoobject.
This Infoobject has display and nav attributes in it which are mapped from DSO to Infoobject.
Now we have added a new infoobject as attribute to the master data infoobject and made it as NAV attri.
Now when we are doing full load via DTP the load is stuck and is not processing.
Earlier it took only 5 mns of time to complete the full load.
Please advise what could be the reason and cause behind this.
Regards,
santhosh.Hello guys,
Thanks for the quick response.
But its nothing proceeding further.
The request is still running.
earlier this same data is loaded in 5 mns.
Please find the screen shot.
master data for the infoobjects are loaded as well.
I can see in SM50 the process at P table of the infoobject the process is.
Please advise.
Please find the detials

BI Content data load - Caller 70 ST22 Error CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE
Hi All,
Currently, we have been in the process of activating BI Content mostly 3.x flows within our new development system.
including cubes 0FIAP_C02, 0FIAR_C05, 0FIAR_C02, 0FIGL_C01 etc. Activation of content through to source system has been successful though data loading has proved into the cube through the 3.x flow has proved to be an issue.
The problem being when the info package is run to update the specific cube the load remains in yellow pending status before eventually reaching its time-out limit and producing a caller 70 error as below:-
Short dump in the Warehouse
Diagnosis
The data update was not finished. A short dump has probably been logged in BI. This provides information about the error.
System Response
"Caller 70" is missing.
Further analysis:
Search the BI short dump overview for the short dump that belongs to the request. Pay attention to the correct time and date on the selection screen.
You access a short dump list using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Short dump -> In the Data Warehouse".
Error handling:
Follow the instructions in the short dump.
After checking ST 22 we obtain a number of exceptions as shown detailed below :-
The exception 'CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere
along
the call hierarchy.
Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
adequately responded to, the running ABAP program 'SAPLRRMS' has to be
terminated.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" "CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE"
"SAPLRRMS" or "LRRMSU13"
"RRMS_X_MESSAGE"
75 ELSE.
76 DATA: l_text TYPE string,
77 l_repid TYPE syrepid.
78
79 l_repid = i_program.
80 l_text = i_text.
81
>>>>> RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE cx_rsr_x_message
83 EXPORTING text = l_text
84 program = l_repid.
85 ENDIF.
86
87 ENDFUNCTION.
I have looked through the many articles related the error including notes :- 551464, 850428, 615389
Though to no avail, there are no locked idocs in sm58 and also basis have checked the DB size and all is OK, also reactivating and dropping index's did not work
Just wondering if there could be any further issues to resolve the data loading issues?
Many ThanksHi,
Based on the provided details, please take a look at below detail in the short dump:
I_IOBJNM
<Object> (In the most of cases the impacted object is 0REQUEST)
So, check the version of the object: >> tcode RSD5 - <object> -> Display
-> 'Version Comparison' button -> display All Properties -> Active/Content Version
By these steps you can see what is different in the versions (A-Active and D-Delivered)
To solve the issue check the steps provided in note 1157796 (in the first part - Symptom item)
It should helps.

Data Load process for 0FI_AR_4 failed
Hi!
I am aobut to implement SAP Best practices scenario "Accounts Receivable Analysis".
When I schedule data load process in Dialog immediately for Transaction Data 0FI_AR_4 and check them in Monitor the the status is yellow:
On the top I can see the following information:
12:33:35 (194 from 0 records)
Request still running
Diagnosis
No errors found. The current process has probably not finished yet.
System Response
The ALE inbox of BI is identical to the ALE outbox of the source system
or
the maximum wait time for this request has not yet been exceeded
or
the background job has not yet finished in the source system.
Current status
No Idocs arrived from the source system.
Question:
which acitons can I do to run the loading process succesfully?Hi,
The job is still in progress it seems.
You could monitor the job that was created in R/3 (by copying the technical name in the monitor, appending "BI" to is as prefix, and searching for this in SM37 in R/3).
Keep on eye on ST22 as well if this job is taking too long, as you may have gotten a short dump for it already, and this may not have been reported to the monitor yet.

We had the data loaded to SAP with ROLE 000000 and TR0100 but somehow when we tried to update the address thru ROLE TR0100, we had a dump and failed to update. However, the update is good when we use ROLE 000000 to update.
Anyone would have a clue of this?
ThanksI am new to EDT also. I know Cat 15 which can load BP. SAP has more categories which can load more using KCLJ. Here's my experience.
Under Tcode SIMGH, find IMG structure External Data Transfer for SAP Banking. Under that structure, you can find Display Required and Optional Entry Fields for SEM Banking. When you enter 15 in the Category box, you'll see a whole list of fields about BP. You can use these fields to create your own structure.
After you created your structure, use Define Sender Structure under External Data Transfer for SAP Banking to define your structure. After that, it is done. You can try use KCLJ to load your BP.
If you still have other issues, mostly will be the configuration.
Enjoy. -
Date load error From ODS to Cube?
Guru's,
Here is a status of data load and suggest me.
Actually we are loading data from ODS to Cube which is full load. This loading is done thorugh process chain and it is loaded for every half an hour.Every time the earlier load will be deleted and next load will be taken to cube. Two days ago the load had gone wrong. When I tried to see cause for the failure in Monitor details I could see Update missing and processing missing. When I see in process chains log view I got info stating some invalid characterstic had appeared. But when I search in PSA the whole of the data packets are green. If there is any invalid characterstics PSA should show a red status. But it is not showing. Please guide me how could I solve this?
point will be definitely awarded for the proper answers.
Thanks in advance.

Transfer call from federated failed
Hi
I am testing transfer call from federated client , I am transferring it to another lync user or to PSTN and both giving transfer not complete with error
can not complete transfer error ID 404 , source ID 239
the nice thing that I am not seeing any error with red flag in the S4 & SIP Stack event of the lync edge and FE , and when I search for the contact of the transferred user I can't find his name too in logs !
any suggestion will be helpful
by the way the internal transfer for incoming/outgoing working fine , I tried to disable/enable refer but same result , anyway I think the transfer to internal LYNC client doesn't need refer changes as it is for gateway only
I am testing the call from my Skype account
ThanksI would fix OCSLogger on your edge server and post that log:
Issues with OCSLogger and the Outbound routing messages in Snooper on Lync 2013.
Try the following:
Close Snooper and OCSLogger
Rename the default.tmx file in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Debugging Tools directory to default.tmx.old
Copy the default.tmx file from c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Tracing To C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Debugging Tools.
Start OCSLogger again and run your scenario. -

endHaving looked at your spreadsheet I see you're failing H323 transfers back to your ISDN system, but only under certain circumstances. Quite why, I'm not sure, possibly because you haven't codec defined on your H323 dial peers. or it could be something else
I think you may be able to work around the problem by adding
" supplementary-service h450.12 " under voice service voip on your CME router as a quick fix.

Error during data load due to special characters in source data
Hi Experts,
We are trying to load Billing data into the BW using the billing item datasource. It seems that there are some special characters in the source data. When the record with these characters is encountered, the request turns red and the package is not loaded even into the PSA. The error we get in the monitor is something like
'RECORD 5028: Contents from field **** cannot be converted into type CURR',
where the field **** is a key figure of type currency. We managed to identify the said record in RSA3 on the source system and found that one of the fields contains some invalid (special) characters that show up as squares in RSA3. The data in the rest of the fields, including the fields mentioned in the error looks correct.
Our source system is a non-unicode system wheras the BW system is unicode enabled. I figure that the data in the rest of the fields are getting misaligned due to the presence of the invalid characters in the above field. This was confirmed when we unassigned the field with the special characters from the transfer rules and removed the source field from the transfer structure. After doing this the data was loaded successfully and the request turned green.
Can anyone suggest a way to either filter out such invalid characters from the source data or make some settings in the BW systems such that the special characters are no longer invalid in the BW system? We cannot write code in the transfer rules because the data package does not even come into the PSA. Is there any other method to solve this problem?
Regards,
TedHi Thad,
I was wondering, if system is unicode or non unicode that should not matter the amount and currency field . As currencies are defined by SAP and it is in pure English at least a currency code part of 3 Chars.
Could this because of some incosistency of data ??
I would like to know for Which currency had some special characters it it in that particular record ??
Hope that helps.
Regards

System recovery from partition fails after first boot
I just purchased and recieve the following notebook: Pavilion DV7-6C95DX. I went through setup and then created recovery DVDs.
After playing with it for a short while, I decided to try restoring it to factory condition using the recovery partiton and F11 during boot. This started the recovery manager, which (according to its checklist) reformatted the Windows partition, copied required files and restored file to the hard disk. Then it prompted me to continue to reboot and finish the process, which I did.
Upon boot, it reported it immediately reported "Windows failed to start... Status: 0xc000000f ... a required device inaccessible"
I pressed Enter to contine and the screen said "Choose an operating system to start ..." and it gave me only the option "Ramdisk Options [EMS enabled]" Choosing it takes me back to the previous screen and so on.
So, I tried using the recovery media I made earlier. That booted Windows and Recovery Manager reported the following: "The system recovery media does not support this computer. You are not able to restore this computer with the media" There was a code below it that read "0110-A6X02UAR#ABA-A6X02UA#ABA"
There are apparently two problems -- the reecovery partition does not work and the recovery media does not work. I do not know if they are related, but, in any case, now the computer is unusable. It is less than a week old.
Thanks in advance for any advice for correcting this.
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi Lance,
This error can occur if there are any USB devices or media cards connected to your notebook. If this is the case, remove everything connected to your notebook and try the Recovery process again.
If the above is not relevant, I would try the following to rule out a potential Hardware issue.
Before trying the following, make sure you can read the Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
Assuming that this is just a software problem with the Recovery process, there is a straight forward work around if you have ( or can borrow ) a retail Windows 7 installation disc that is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the exact retail version you would need.
If you don't have access to a retail disc, you can create an installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the correct Disc Image from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.
Windows-7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit
Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the COA Label when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.
http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-windows-7-by-phone.aspx
Any additional drivers you may need can be found starting Here.
If this also fails to install Windows, I would simply return the notebook to the retailer it was purchased from and get a replacement while you are still within the time frame where this is an option.
Regards,
DP-K

Deletion of data objects from already not existed source system
Hello, Everybody,
In BI 7 i had QASCLNT<b>500</b> source system and have been created datasource with transformation. Later QASCLNT<b>500</b> was deleted or changed (i don't know very well) to QASCLNT<b><i>300</i></b>, but old datasource with transformation is still in new system. When i try to delete these objects i get a message - "Source system QASCLNT<b>500</b> does not exist".
Could you give me a suggestion how can i delete that datasourse and transformation?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Arunas StonysHi,
It depends on your requirements whether you have to keep the history or not.
If you delete the data from your info providers, you have to reload everything from scratch.
If you want to delete the data from all
1. first delete the data in data targets such as cubes, DSO's or ODS then
2. master data
use these programs to delete from se38
-> rsdrd_delete_facts - for Cubes and DSO or ODS
-> rsdmd_del_background - for master data in background
-> rsdmd_del_master_data_texts - for master data right away
manage your master data info objetcs after the deletion, if you still find them....
go to se14 and delete individually each and every table such as attributes, texts, sids, hierarchy.
hope it helps you better.
But I dont recommend you to delete try to load full repair options for all yur loads
