DSC 8.6.1 doesn't log alarms

My alarms are not being logged in DSC 8.6.1.
I can tell that the alarms are being properly generated when I monitor them in the Distributed System Manger. In keeping with previous posts, I know that the MSSQL server is running in the taskbar. I've also tried changing the permissions for NETWORK SERVICE in the citadel directory.
When I try to monitor alarms in LV, it returns error code 1967386611: HIST_RunAlarmQueryCORE.vi, Citadel: (Hex 0x8ABC100D) The given Citadel database is not currently configured to log alarms to a relational database.
I also notice that the time stamp on all of the citadel files is not being updated with each alarm, so it really seems like the alarms not being logged.
I have alarm logging enabled in all the appropriate places (at the variable, and in the library properties).
When I check the alarm log history in MAX, there is nothing there.

I have the same Problem with LabVIEW and DSC8.5.1 and, yes, SQL-Server 2000 was installed before I tried to install DSC the first time.
But after I uninstalled the DSC, SQL-Server-Express 2005 and the old 2000-Version and reinstalled the complete DSC-Module it still didn't work. MAX doesn't display any error message but doesn't also show any data. ldf- and mdf-Files are not contained in the database folder.
Right after installation and first reboot I get an Error-Message: IN MSDE Security Setup Error „NI MSDE is not accessable or currently logged
user doesn't have sysadmin permissions“. I found a post for this issue, but the suggested solutions didn't work for me too ( http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=243298). And if I try to use the DSC's alarm-loging feature I end up with the Error:"...database is not currently configured to log alarms...".
The DSC and the application we developed work fine on two other
XP-Pro-PC's and I was surprised to get in trouble with installing it on
the customers PC.
The Windows XP Pro has been installed by our customer and I don't want to touch that installation. My user account has admin permissions. I have no clue how to fix this and I hope you have an idea what to try next.

In InfoView, with Performance Management installed, user sessions fail to be released immediately when the Log Off button is clicked.
If you click the logoff button in Infoview and watch the address bar you will notice that it actually goes to another page called default.htm. It does this really fast. That page is located at C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\InfoView. Remove both the default.htm and index.html and reboot your Tomcat server. Open a browser and go to Infoview. Once you have gotten in to Infoview click the log off button. You will get and error from the tomcat server and that is because the page does not exist anymore. If you look in CMS under servers and CMS you will also notice it dropped the session as well. So if you create another Default.htm page of your own and just redirect to another page it all should work.
However I did notice an interesting ADAPT in CHF15 :-

I waited for a longer time and the grey denim screen comes up. By the apple in left upper corner it said I think LSA? Then safari menu bar. Select which users doesn't logged their work yesterday on MS Project 2013

We use MS Project 2013 to control people work report.
I wanna make a SQL query that will catch all users that doesn't set their work yesterday on WebProject App.
My intention on that is to alert them by e-mail about this.
If the user doesn't logged his work for three or more days consecutive, his coordinator must be alerted too.
Is there any configuration property on MS Project to do this ?

My user doesn't log in

Hi,
I bought the Mountain Lion OSX, and after installed it my regular user doesn't log in.
After I putted the right password the mac gave me a gray screen and come back to the first screen of users, anyone knows what I do to solute this?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on some Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

Is there any way to log alarms to a SQL database?

Using Lookout 5.1, I have an application where it would be useful for Historical purposes to log alarm messages (generation, acknowledgement, completion) to an SQL database. It is desired to run a 3rd party application in order to compute response times, and determine historical trends that might be discernable from the frequency of particular alarms (equpment out of calibration, equipment needing replacement, etc...).
Is there any way to acquire information on alarms, their generation and completion?

After all the reliability and integration headaches we've had with Lookout 5.0, it was an uphill battle just to get those above me to upgrade to 5.1. I'm not about to start that mess again, in order to upgrade to 6.0, and in addition, if I went to them and said "It'd be nice to do .... to Lookout, and it will only cost us $$$ in order to do ....", I think I'd be kicked out of their office before I finished the sentence.
We've finally got Lookout 5.1 into a condition where it works reliably *most* of the time. I'm not about to start another upgrade path, unless it were to something else. Lookout seems fine for "small" systems, which are worked on by a single user, but in this case, we've got over 5000 tags from some 60 PLC's we're handling, with around 2000 or so discrete alarms. The system is maintained by me, and I do *some* development on it, but we also have 3 or 4 other people who also work on the *same* system, which in the current design, with a single lookout file, and no discrete process database system, makes it extremely difficult, since only one of the users can be working on the system at a time*, and they MUST do it on the production system, as you can't merge pieces from different developers into the single operating system.
Can Citadel 5 be added or merged into Lookout 5.1?

My iPhone 3G doesn't log onto 3G

I have just realised that my iPhone 3G doesn't log onto 3G (the 3G sign doesn't appear in the top left of the screen). My friends have 3GS phones and I noticed that their phones work noticeably faster and the 3G sign appears in the top left of the screen when sat in the same position.
I have checked that 3G is enabled in the "General", "Network" settings menu, can anyone help?

Assuming you're in a 3G coverage area, a few things to try...
1. Turn 3G Off and then back On
2. Reset Network Settings
3. Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

My Macbook Retina doesn't log back in from sleep after typing in the password, have to force shut down

Recently i've been having this problem once in a while (once every few days) that when I opened up my computer from sleep, I typed in my password and clicked enter. After that, it shows that normal grey box thing; normally it logs in after a few seconds, but sometimes i wait for 2 minutes and still it doesn't log in. I sleep it and wake it again, but this time i type the password and i click enter, but nothing happens, i can't click switch user either. At this point my only choice is to force shut down my macbook. This problem is a bit annoying since sometimes i have unsaved work.

I want to Host my Shared Variables on a cRIO, but use DSC for Logging/Alarming/SCADA

What I'm trying to do is this:
-Host shared variables on my RT targets (cRIO-9022) for reliability
-Use the DSC module to log to database, track Alarms, develop distributed HMI
The problem I'm running into is that the DSC engine (it seems) needs the shared variables it is monitoring to be hosted on that computer. The DSC engine can not run on a real-time target.
My end goal is to create a plant-wide network of cRIO's that are all linked back to a central server/PC that runs DSC to collect and stores data in a database. The plant HMI would also connect to the central server and get their information from there (not directly connected to the cRIO process). Is this possible/does any one have ideas on how to do this efficiently?

Thanks for the input. I tried to create a test project for this type of architecture (bound NSV's) but am running into some errors.
I have attached a screenshot of the project and front panel showing the binding status of each variable **see attached picture**
Hosted on PC:
-Clone (Variable1) ---- This is bound to Variable1 on cRIo using the "Create Bound Variables" option in the Library
-Variable3
Hosted on cRIO
-Variable1
As you can see, when I drag variable 1 directly onto the PC front panel, the variable connects (indicator is green). Likewise, when I host Variable3 on the PC and drag it to the front panel, it connects. However, when I drag the Clone (variable bound to Variable1 on cRIO) onto the front panel, it cannot connect. Any thoughts?

Ichat doesn't log all the time/poor camera connectivity

My ichat doesn't always log on. Sometimes it will after using the computer for thirty minutes or so and sometimes not at all(same is true with AIM). However, my firefox and safari both work all the time so it's not an internet connection problem. I'm using an ethernet cable for service. I was wondering if there's a setting or something I need to change...
Also when it does finally connect my isight camera (external) does not always connect to talk with other people. It has worked before rarely but when it's connected the image is extremely choppy and blurry; however, the sound is usually pretty clear and fluid. How can I fix this?

For your logging on problem
Try logging on to AIM on port 443 rather than port 5190.
Go to IChat in the menu bar > Preferences > Accounts.
Log out of AIM and then use the Server Settings tab
Set the port to 443.
Log back in again.
For your blurry problem
Set the Quicktime streaming setting, goto sys prefs/quicktime/streaming/streaming speed, set to 1.5mbps(dont use automatic)
In ichats prefs click on video and change bandwidth limit to NONE.
Restart iChat.

I have tried to debug tcp ip traffic but the usual logging doesn't
work.
I set the debugger to 1
use the net
set it to 0
unload conlog
view the conlog file
but it doesn't show any traffic at all.
Only logs the commands executed on system screen.
currently NW 6.0 sp3 on both servers (BM + fileserver)
Tried to find something on it on Craigs site but there was a
mentioning
from last year that it had a bug that should be fixed with sp1

Log Alarm Only Once

Hi everyone,
I have an interesting issue with logging a 'thermocouple disconnected' alarm as part of a condition monitoring application.
I am logging thermocouple readings at 5 Hz when a thermocouple becomes disconnected the reading rises to 1372, which is detected and should sound an alarm. The application builds a string at this time (and publishes to a table) telling the user which thermocouple has disconnected, and any action undertaken (for example, turning the heater off).
I would usually include a snippet, although the code uses property nodes (as the error log code is in another loop) making it pretty much unreadable.
My issue is that the alarm is published on every iteration. I need to keep checking for other thermocouple failures but disable one which has already occured. I thought about setting a 'already written' variable in a shift register for each error case but this was getting messy quickly.
Any help (or ideas of a better way to do this!) are appreciated,

Because your method is not the fastest.
Yes, I was sloppy in my code and there was an additional buffer allocation due to the autoindexing branch of the array. If we index inside the inner for loop, we eliminate that extra buffer allocation and speed it up by more than a factor of two. (I did the autoindex for quicker coding and cleaner diagram, because it does not really matter in your application).
Also, don't underestimate the new compiler. For some reason your "delete..insert" does not cause a buffer allocation, something that might not be guaranteed in all cases. (tools...profile...show buffer allocations). It might also well be different on older LabVIEW versions. (I have not tried). It might also be different on different CPUs (My times are quite slow because they were done on a very old Athlon XP).
First, let's make sure we benchmark the right code. We don't do a single replacement as in your benchmark, but there is also an outer shift register where we keep the rotated array. You should also disable debugging, because loops have more debugging overhead, skewing the results.
Attached is a simple draft with 5 code alternatives. Just run and select one algorithm at a time via the enum selector. The time in ms will be graphed. (There are probably some bugs, please verify correct operation).
Loop In Place: Using a loop and the "in place element" structure to rotate rows down.
Loop Original: Using a loop and the proper inner indexing.
Loop_autoindex: Same as (2) but with autoidenxing, causing a second buffer allocation.
Delete_Insert: Your code (delete last, insert new element at the beginning).
Insert_Delete: Basically same as (4) but with operations reversed.
Here are my results: algorithm incremeneted every 40 iterations)
(1) and (2) are fastest, (3) is slowest, and (4)&(5) are somewhere in the middle, or about half he speed of the first two.
Feel free to find a fster method for the same task. There problaby is......
Also note that the real case has a 2D array of strings, so things might again be slighly different (not tested).
Just some food for thought....

Kernel doesn't log ACPI events: ACPI module or Bios corruptions

Well, this is very strange and i dunno where to look at to solve this:
My new NP530U3C (Samusung ultrabook)is running Arch and i'm currently using acpid to trigger the acpi events couse i have no DE (fluxbox).
I can't understand the way my kernel and acpid log the LID event:

When i close the lid, i have to wait 10 sec approx to trigger the LID close event and start the suspend action!
on wakeup i don't know because my samsung can wakeup only with the power button (no lid in wakeup events).
So somebody can enlighten me?

I can summarize it is a corruption of the Bios/ACPI module that affect this laptop after a certain suspentions circle (I mean not every first suspentions).
I would like to debug in a better way but i have no instruments to investigate:
If someone can point me to a way to debug this stuff like Bios corruptions and/or Kernel module failure...
Any advide is appreciated

well, is a samsung ultrabook! i'm doing some m ore tests and still 10 sec delayed!
a note:
when the kernel log the LID state i can suspend instantly after i really close the LID.
after a reboot, and halt/start thigs doesn't changes....
The kernel logger resume after some reboots or *resetting* (using a needle to click a button above the laptop close to the battery) the laptop <-- this method was whrote somewhere and i tried it, and solved sometinms the issue for 2/3 days.
is starnge because it appears without any regularity, but i'm not so pro and is difficult for me to figure out what can trigger the event!

Sony dsc-wx150 digital camera doesn't connect in iPhoto

Just got a Sony DSC-WX-150 digital camera. Already have a Mac Mini, OS 10.7.xx latest updates, and iPhoto 11 with latest updates. When I connect the camera with the supplied usb cable and turn it on, iPhoto doesn't respond or show the mounted device. The Finder sees it and shows it in a window as a memory stick. Any idea why it doesn't show or what I can do about it? TIA

This happens with only one bookmark. It takes me to a login page, as it should, I log in -- and it doesn't log me in to the admin page, it takes me to the website. This is the website I work on, so now I can't work on it from my laptop.

All of my bookmark and log in functions have worked in previous Firefox versions. But after this last one, the log in function fails with this one bookmark. It takes me to the log in/administrator page, as it should, I log in -- I can see the admin address flash by as it works, but Firefox winds up taking me to the website itself, not the admin dashboard. So ... when I need to work, I have to switch to Safari for just this one site.
