DSCC showing instance status as stopped or unknown error

Hello All,
Am a newbie and learning DSEE 6.3 at present. Recently SSL renewal happened for all the servers in the production environment and once after that DSCC showing 2 instance as stopped or unknown error. While checking via command prompt everything looks fine, seems to be DSCC having communication issue with specific instance which are on different servers. How you are advising here? Does DSCC restart will help here or particular instance need to unregistered and register again?

You should un-register your instances from DSCC and register them again so that their certificates are updated in DSCC registry.

Get-CacheHost is showing the status of nodes as UNKNOWN and caching service getting crashed - eventlog shows TimeoutException connecting to cache nodes.

Seems like a firewall issue, have you set the firewall rule to ALLOW inbound traffic to AppFabric?

NetWeaver Administrator shows Instance status as yellow

I see my Java Instance status in NWA 7.1 under Java EE Instances but all that is shown is the System Nr, Host, and status, which is a yellow triangle.
There are no OS Process PIDs, or anything. Where is the information stored? Can I fix this somehow (I hope so). This happened after a Homogeneous System Copy.

After Java system copy you need to modify instance ID in config tool.. This is a required step..

Why does it keep showing "iPod cannot be synced, an unknown error has occured (13019)" ? PLEASE HELP ME!

ive had this problem for quite a while, itunes wont let me add songs or movies to my iPod. anybody know why? how can it say "UNKNOWN ERROR"? if they dont know what error it is, how did they detect it?

Adding new Updates makes Reports show compliance status as "Enforcement state unknown". Old updates are still installing though.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has seen this before and resolved it?
Basically, 2012 Software Updates have been working fine for over a year. Last months Patch Tuesday updates were fine too.
However, this week I added a new update to a Software Update Group/deployment. This update did not deploy, and when I run a report, I get "Enforcement state unknown" for ALL clients in the collection. This happens to any deployment I amend. And
also if I create a new update group and new deployment - same thing - "enforcement status unknown".
However, updates previous to this week continue to download and install fine for all deployments. Deployments which I have not changed appear to continue to report correctly (unknown, compliant, pending system restart, etc).
In the SCCM console for Software Updates, the "required" and "installed" figures are still showing correctly.
Custom software packages continue to download and install too.
All servers have sufficient disk space. Most collections dont have maintenance windows, and the deadlines are correct.
Not sure what this could be, a problem with the Management Point? But I can see any errors in the "monitoring" view on the server. The client log files like "wuahandler.log" and "windowsUpdate.log" appear fine also, no obvious
errors.
I cant see any evidence of a group policy conflict. The WSUS entry is still correct in the local group policy (GPEDIT.MSC/admin template/windows comp/ windows update).

There were absolutely no errors in WUAhandler.log on existing machines - all looked normal, which baffled me. Machines with newly installed SCCM client only had machine and user policy update, so could not check for Software Updates.
However, I through web searches, I found a solution on another discussion here:

Basically the issue was described as a "corrupt PADBID in the database". A SQL query code detects if the issue is present, and another SQL code fixes the issue.
What lead me to this fix was searching for this error in "CCMEXEC.LOG" online: "System task 'PolicyEvaluator_Unlock' returned error code 0x8000ffff".

Live Office XI 3.1 "Unknowned" Error

We are trying to use Live Office XI 3.1 (latest SP and FP) in Excel 2007 to create a single column dataset with approx. 250,000 rows. The file size for this dataset is approx. 12mb and in the CMC we have set the "Maximum Character Stream Size" to 50mb in the Webi Processing Server settings. The process returns a very generic error message stating "An error occurred when refreshing". When we click the "Show Details" button, we get the "unknowned error" message. We have successfully run a much smaller dataset from the same universe.
Any ideas why the larger dataset would return this error?

Figured out the answer to this. When bringing in large amounts of data into Excel 2007 from LO, you have to force Excel out of Compatibility Mode when it starts up. If not, Excel 2007 starts up as Excel 2003 and you're limited in the number of rows a LO query can return.

DPS DSCC doesn't show operational status

I have DPS 6.3.1 running against 4 6.3.1 directory server instances. On the data sources page of DSCC, the 'operational status' column shows 'Could Not Retrieve Status' for all 4 instances. I've tried upping the log level on the DPS server to see if I could figure out what is causing this. Does anyone know how DPS (or DSCC) goes about figuring out what should be in that column?

We don't have a single dscc for all instances. This is because of a strict 3 tier network architecture we are required to have (to the point that tier 1 dps is not allowed to talk directly to tier 3 ds so we have a tier 2 dps pass-thru). So are you saying that dscc in our tier 2 dps environment has to be able to talk to cacaoadm in tier 3 to show operational status of the ds on the dps screens? I was definitely under the impression that the monitoring as configured in dscc, has the dps instances monitoring the ds instances and the dps instances would let dscc know the status. To me, I don't care if dscc in tier 2 knows that the tier 3 ds instances are up, I want to know that the dps servers can talk to ds.

Several processes in SM50 show status as stopped and reason SLEEP

I have several batch jobs that are running and then sometime it shows up status "stopped" and Reason "SlEEP". There have been some slow DB writes but not sure what I can do about this.
Should I let them go and let them resolve themselves. Sometimes these jobs will cause performance issues.
Or do I delete cancel them to restart in the low usage periods.

Look a closer look at work proces trace file,
if you do not see any info desired....
increase the "TRACE LEVEL" of work process and chase for reason log in tracef file.
WORKPROCESS Trace info should give some clue / info to do a deep dive analyiss of your issue.
If you avail SAP Verion/ Kernel Version/ DB Version / OS Version ...
give more light to the signing in users to put their comments close to your issue.
We are sure, With Dibya reply itself, you would have got the reasons for the issue.

BLF stopped showing activity status

I have two different locations having this same issue. The BLF key will stop showing the status of the other but, after a reset of the effected device it works.... only to have the problem roll to another phone in that same call pick up group. The BLFs work as speed dials. Only the flashing to show status has stopped. If the user unplugs the phone or if we perform a RESET of the phone, the flashing returns. It continues to roll through the entire group.
What registration is upon the reboot/restart of these devices? How do I isolate this problem?

8000 phones means that there is probably more than a CUCM. CUPS, a switchboard, shared lines, Lync or Jabber,... all subscribe to the status. A short network outage or a failover of many phones can cause problems. We observed this many times in the past years. Sometimes lines are busy but no one is using the line, after a reset everything works normal an a few days another line is affected. A phone is ringing and as soon as you lift the receiver the other party is put on hold. ...
A restart of all CTI Manager services solved the problem, otherwise reboot the cluster.

OEM 10g shows DB Instance status as unmounted

Hi All,
I have recently refreshed a DB from Prod instance but did not create a black out in OEM before starting the refresh of DB. After the refresh, the status of DB in OEM is showing up as "Status: Unmounted Details:The instance is open
The instance has been started in no-mount state" but it shows the listener status as "UP" and also shows the status as "UP" in the general section. I have tried clearstate agent and upload which did not work. I have also tried cleaning up all the collection files, upload files and state files and restarting the agent by unsecuring and securing it again but none of this worked. Does anybody have any ideas how to trouble shoot this?

Search Bug 6073721 in support. That fix worked for me using OEM 10.2.0.5 on AIX.
To summarize: Find the metric and policy settings for the DATABASE (not the global ones for OEM) and change the value for unmounted to 1 (or anything > 0). Then go back to the database home screen and refresh. The fix might not take effect immediately, so try the refresh more than once.

SDM instance is shown stopped status

I am appling a note 905856 after that SDM instance is shown stopped status.
I already started je22 engine and restarted SDM 3 to 4 times but no status is changed.

Kindly check what trace file says..check if SDM is in integrated mode and not on standalone.Because sometimes deploying components through SDM command prompt, we take SDM to standalone mode and then once deployment is over, we take it to integrated mode. So kindly check its mode

Well the most common way is to enclude the vi's in the build spec either directly in the dependancies that the App builder automatically generates OR by declaring them in the build spec as "additional enclusions" (like you must do for dynamic vi calls in your app.
I have heard rummors about My.app Stuff.vi in a nugget Intaris posted- and I've wanted to dig deaper into Intaris' claims- but have not tried it myself.

try another cable it's a std cable that most consumer electronic use
if that does not help then I would try to connect it by a microUSB cable to see if I could restore the firmware from a computer running itunes
if that does not help then I would say that the appletv have died

4th Gen, conects to itunes + updates but stops + shows(unknown error -69)

I have an ipod 4th gen 2o gb click-wheel, i connect it to my computer, and itunes pops up; recognizes it, and starts to update, but after anywhere between 8-16 songs it stops and says "unknown error (-69)' please help i need this ipod to work!! if you have any idea of what the problem might be, please share!!

To add to this, I have wiped all my 1000 mp3's and refreshed ITUNES on my 3 computers. Even with adding new CD imports I still get the unknown error -69. I know there is nothing wrong with these mp3's. Please help me!
