DST 2007, 10.2.8 Finder and Timestamps

Hello! I ran a patch to fix my "localtime" files for DST, and now my clocks and Date/Time Pref. are all seemingly okay. BUT, when I make a "New Folder" on the Desktop, then "Get Info" on it, it shows the time in OLD TIME (1 hour earlier). BUT if I use terminal to "ls -l" the same directory, then timestamp is correct with system time. Likewise if the folder is made on our server, other Macs (10.3.9) see the timestamp as the correct time, but my Finder in 10.2.8 does not-still one hour early. Has anyone know the Finder to try to add/subtract time from what is apparently system time, or what's going on?
PM G4 Mirrored Door Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Hello Jeff -
Nice to have a solution offered, but unfortunately I have done that, and still experience issues. My file <etc/localtime> was modified by this patch (from version tracker, not apple) I ran, and now the Mac thinks it is DST. But I get date created and date modified that reflect the old time, not the new that I see in the menu bar or in the Terminal Window (yes, terminal shows the correct time). Perhaps I should try to uninstall this patch and see what happens, since I have no option in Prefs to "Make it Daylight time" like OS9 has. There must be something about the Finder that is doing this, as I said other Macs see me writing files at the correct time, only my Finder reports everything off.

  • How to find the timestamp and SCN in the standby database?

    Hai,
I have Oracle 9.2.0.4 RAC with 2 nodes in the production. The logs generated at these servers will be manully moved to my standby database and will be applied. To know what isthe maximum log files applied in the standby database, i am using the below mentioned query in the standby database,
    Select thread#,max(sequence#) from v$log_history group by thread#
In general i am using "recover standby database until cancel" command and then checking the database with the above mentioned query whether all the logs are applied or not.
If i use time based or scn based recovery in standby database i.e., "recover standby database until time <time>" or "recover standby database until change <scn number>" , after completion of the recovery, apart from the message "Media recovery complete" or by seeing the alert log, is there any way to query the standby database, so that i can identify the time or scn upto which the archived redo log files got applied.

    Hi Sridhar,
There should be some view which will have applied_scn information. There is one more option i can suggest, you can create a heart beat table in production with 2 column like scn and timestamp. Update this table every minute. From standby db you can query this table and get fair idea on applied_scn and timestamp.
While exporting you can export using flashback_scn by taking the value from heartbeat table of standby.
This heartbeat table is used very common in streams environment. Just see if this helps you.

  • How to check....  DST 2007 applied or not?

I have Oracle 10g R2 on HPUX box. How to find out DST 2007 patch is applied or not to this database?
    Thank you,
    Smith

This document leads to other documents and things may get lost for a new DBA. Is there any way we can check the DST 2007 status for Oracle on HPUX or is there any specific doc on the web related to this.
    Thank you for your help,

  • J2EE upgrade to accommodate DST 2007 changes

    Hi,
We are running EP 6.0 SP2P4 on J2EE 6.2. When accommodating DST 2007 changes, we found out as per the note 983147:
The 6.20 J2EE Engine is based on JDK 1.3 and is out of support end of 2006. Therefore no fix will be provided for this JDK version. So all customers running on 6.20 J2EE Engine must switch to higher versions before march 2007.
Thus you have to 1) switch to 6.40 and 2)have jdk version 1.4.2_11 or
higher to have the automatic fix of Daylight savings.
HELP! - If you can provide some pointers to any documentation on how to upgrade this, or if there is any workaround, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks!
    Nirmal

    Hello Nirmal,
Please read the upgrade documentation that you can find in the following path:
    http://service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP Netweaver -> SAP Netweaver 2004 (or SAP Netweaver 2004s) -> Upgrade
And about the minimum JDK version to use, you will find information in the SAP Note below:
       723909 Java VM settings for J2EE 6.40/7.0
Inside this note you will find the notes for each Operating System. This notes tell you what is the minimum version to use depending on the Operating System used.

  • Oracle ODBC driver and TIMESTAMP with timezone

Does anyone know if it is possible to return data from a "TIMESTAMP WITH TIMEZONE" column using the Oracle ODBC driver and an ADO Recordset?
I am using the Oracle driver version 10.2.0.2 and TIMESTAMP fields work fine.
I can call Recordset->Open() with a query like "SELECT * FROM TABLE" when the table contains a column of type timestamp with timezone but when I execute a statement to see if there are results as in
    if (!(srcRecsetPtr->BOF && srcRecsetPtr->EndOfFile))
my application throws an unhandled exception and exits. The exception is not a COM exception and I'm not sure how to get back additional information if that's possible.
The only information I've been able to find in searching TechNet and MetaLink is that a workaround is to wrap the columns in a TO_CHAR or TO_DATE conversion first but that's not a good solution for my problem since I am executing user specified SQL which may join multiple tables.
I've found one other note that says the documentation should be corrected and that these fields are NOT supported period (Bug #4011640).
I've experimented with the Bind Timestamp as Date option in the ODBC connection and with various ALTER SESSION settings to attempt to change the NLS_TIMESTAMP_TZ_FORMAT but I have been unable to get past the problem.
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Troy

    Hi Justin
    Thanks for your help.
I tried what you mentioned and I could connect myself via SQL*Plus without passing a password and a login, Extern authentification seems to work and my user seems to be right configurated.
But he problem goes on via ODBC. When I test connection in the ODBC Data Source Administrator of Windows XP, test fails and seems to forbid connection without userID and password. When I try to connect via ODBC in my program the same problem appears : "Unable to connect SQLSTATE=28000 [Oracle][ODBC][ORA]Ora-01017: Invalid username/password;logon denied" I could not connect in this way.. What's wrong ?

    Hi Expert
    I am using Exchange 2007 SP3 with Rollup 11 and outlook 2007 SP3 with Windows 7
Our users is facing this error, i can see on the bottom of the appointment, it has attachment with the same appointment attached.

i can use MFCMAIP to remove those attachment, but i cannot find any preventive solution for user daily operation for modifiy the recurring appointment
Could you guy help me on this and i would like to know, is it a behaviour of outlook 2007.
    Thanks

Has anyone found a fix for this?  I have exactly the same problem and it's driving the users mental.  If I use Windows XP and Office 2007 as the same user it's absolutely fine so guess it might be a Windows 7 setting.  We are going to be
rolling out more Windows 7 PCs and hope this doesn't start doing it to everyone.

  • Count and timestamp logging messages: disabled

    Hi ,
what does this setting "Count and timestamp logging messages: disabled" mean ? in "show logging" output.
I do not see the number of message lines logged ( syslog ) increasing under the "show logging" output,
Same is the case with the numbers in "Trap logging: level notifications, xxxx message line logged"
This is happening on IOS , any idea why ?
    Thanks,

    Hello Vikram,
If you do not have the time-stamp configured it would be more difficult to troubleshoot, lets explain this with an example:
-One of your interfaces went down at 13:30 your local time, you have logging enabled without the time-stamp so you go to your syslog server and you look for that problem, in that case you will need to go to all the syslog messages database ( witch might be huge and the message you are looking for could be imposible to find) so if you have timestamp enable you will go directly to the 13:30 messages and find it so much easier.
Here is another explanation I found for you:
    logging timestamp
This command causes the firewall to add a time stamp to each Syslog message before it is sent. The firewall should have its clock set and time synchronized to a known and accurate source.

  • 2007 Intel MacBook Pro Pinwheels and Loss of Sound

    Hello all,
So, about three weeks my 15" 2007-model Intel MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard began acting very strangely. All at once, after my computer had been on for most of the day, the toolbar item processes like Airport, Sound, Time Machine, etc. all began to display rainbow pinwheels of doom, with about a 10-second return to normality every ten minutes or so. This caused computer actions like playing sound, connecting to internet, opening force-quit, changing volume, etc. to only occur (and all at once) within that 10-second window. Other processes like Safari ran smoothly but very slowly--tabs would reset themselves, Flash refused to load, pages did not change for tens of seconds.  Looking at my activity monitor, I could see that my CPUs were mostly idle, so I think that rules out some kind of malware coming in and gumming up the system. I tried restarting Finder, and then restarting the computer, but neither had any effect, and I also noticed that while shutting down, my computer would display the gray startup screen and a gray loading pinwheel for several minutes between leaving the desktop and powering off.
However, this behavior went away after that night, and so I dismissed it as a minor problem and thought no more of it. In the intervening three weeks (about a week-and-a-half ago), I upgraded my machine to Lion so that I could start an iOS coding project for work--as I upgraded, I also got rid of a Boot Camp Windows partition I'd been carrying around and didn't need anymore.
For the first two weeks, everything went fine, and there were no problems with Lion. However, this pinwheeling/slowdown problem has returned with a vengeance! The same symptoms have appeared, except they are becoming less and less intermittent/more persistent.
I have also been able to verify that my software is completely up to date, and that restarts have no effect on this new appearance of my issue. It seems to come and go as it pleases.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on or how to fix it?

the toolbar item processes like Airport, Sound, Time Machine, etc. all began to display rainbow pinwheels of doom,
For the toolbar issue... it's actually referreed to as the menu bar.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
    Clicik Go
Move the  com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.
If that didn't help, use Lion Recovery  to repair the startup disk if necessary, or reinstall the Mac OS X.

in a perfect world, you do know the recording date, and you simply scroll to that date.
in a very perfect world, all your other imports are already tagged, so just have to create a smart list 'unrated' ...
(I know those messy Events… a friend of mine constantly ignores my advice to check the time/date on his camera; on every battery swap, the cam creates a very erratic timestamp ... his actual recordings are listed as made in "2004" or in "2020" .... )

  • Exchange 2007 Powershell command to find shared calendars? Migration 2013 prep.

I'm attempting to clean up my AD and Exchange mailboxes ( for a migration to 365) but I've run into a snag. It turns out that I have a number of departments that are using shared calendars that were created and shared by former employees.
    Environment:  Server 2008R2, Exchange 2007, Outlook 2010.
Most of these calendars were not created as rooms, or in a public storage container like 2000 used to use.  They are all end user created, shared and stored.
The problem is I can't delete a lot of these inactive user accounts because of these shared calendars.  I want/need to find ALL of them (meaning any user account with a shared calendar), export them and move them to a room so I don't
have to worry about personnel changes anymore.
Is there a way to find all of these shared resources (calendars) in PowerShell??  I can't really ask my end users.  Many of them still think "deleted items" is a storage compartment.

Try this command to list-out the calendar permission of users :
    Get-MailboxFolderPermission <mailbox>:\Calendar
You can use DSQuery command to remove inactive users in active directory : http://portal.sivarajan.com/2010/03/delete-stale-or-inactive-computer.html
You can also have a look at this technet blog that describes in depth to remove inactive AD users: http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2011/11/30/use-powershell-to-find-and-remove-inactive-active-directory-users.aspx
Further, to accomplish this task automatically, you can take a look to this proficient application also (http://www.lepide.com/active-directory-cleaner/) that would be a good approach in order
to find out and cleanup inactive users in active directory in a quick attempt.

  • LAST_DDL_TIME, and TIMESTAMP in the USER_OBJECTS

    Hi,
I need to know the difference between the LAST_DDL_TIME, and TIMESTAMP in the USER_OBJECTS table concerning with the packages.I know both will give the latest compile time of the package , but i need to know why there is two seperate column. I also could find the date and time of LAST_DDL_TIME, TIMESTAMP to be different some time for a particular pacakge. Please help me in understanding the difference in detail.
    Regards,
    Vijayanand.C

LAST_DDL_TIME is the timestamp for the last DDL operation on the object (including GRANTS and revokes).
TIMESTAMP is the timestamp for the specification of the object.
    In more detail,
TIMESTAMP relates only to changes to the specification of the object. DDL such as GRANTS for the object would alter the LAST_DDL_TIME, but not the TIMESTAMP.
DDL which modifies the specification of the object, such as in the case of adding a column to a table or modifying a column attribute, would update both LAST_DDL_TIME and TIMESTAMP.
    Hope this helps.
    Janet.
