DST fall-back: Will iPhone correct time if left on?

If I leave my iPhone 4 on, will it automatically switch to correct time tomorrow and thus alarm correctly?

Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds...
Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On...

Hi really need help, on my iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 if I call someone and put them on speaker before the calls connected, the call will fail, and refuse to end call any ideas, been back to apple 3 times!

Really need help as both my iPhone 4 and iphone 5 have the same problem, if I call someone using speaker the call never connects, just "hangs". Then when I give up neither phone will end the call! Been back to apple 3 times and all handsets replaced but still no different!

The iPhone and iPad back up to iTunes on your Mac. Then, when your Mac backs up to the Time Capsule, the iOS backups are copied over as well.

My iPhone 5C does not keep the correct time.

The Time randomly changes by hours and minutes. This morning it was off by 3 hours plus some minutes. I am in the correct time zone and the Date & Time is set to Automatic; Time Zone is New York. I have another iPhone 5c in my house hold and it does NOT experience the same issue. Both iPhones are using the same Apple ID. I have not reset the phone yet because I will lose all previous text messages etc. I m also not able to connect to yahoo mail when the time is off and I am forced to send Text messages as opposed to iMessage, which has caused problems with my contacts NOT being able to text me. This is a huge inconvenience. I am on AT&T. I went to their Corporate store today and they told me they were unable to assist me, that I need to take my phone to an Apple Store. This is not acceptable. The nearest iPhone store is more than 30 minutes from my work AND home. I work late hours and it is very difficult to have to deal with this type of an issue. Please assist.

Doing a reset, does not cause you to lose data, however a restore as new will.
a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
If that doesn't work restore from your backup, if that doesn't work restore as new. If that doesn't work, then schedule an appointment with the Genius bar and take trip to the Apple store.

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Backed up iPhone, will unplugging during later sync alter my backup files?

Ok my iPhone needs to be replaced and I was told to come home and do a backup of my data and come in to Apple tomorow to exchange for a new phone.
I hooked up iPhone to iTunes and ran backup which took about 30 minutes or more. No problem. Then I unhooked my phone when done.
The problem is that I reconnected my iPhone to computer because I wanted to save a video to my computer Pictures file. But as soon as I connected to my computer iTunes started syncing my phone (which I did not want to do). I quickly slid my finger across the bar on the phone that said "Slide here to cancel" the sync and stopped it.
My question is: will this fast 5 second "sync" alter my backup files?
Basically I did my backup and then deleted alot of personal videos and photos and such form my phone because I did not want to turn the old phone in with personal items in it. So I did NOT want to sync or backup my phone now that I deleted tons of items. Just worried the fast 5 second sync messed up my backup files.
Can someone put my mind at ease?

I see my original backup stored in itunes and no other backups since then so I guess I'm safe? The original backup is still there with the correct time so I assume it wasnt changed. I mean after all I stopped the sync process within a few seconds of it starting, so surely no changes were made to my earlier backup...(I hope and pray).
I was just worried since I removed alot from my phone after I backed uo. I did not want itunes to create a backup of my phone since I had deleted so much from all my files.
Tired, hope that made sense. Really worried about handing my phone in tomorrow and hoping my data is all safely saved.

DST failed to fall back on Nov 4, 2007

Our java version is 1.4.2_04-b04. We installed the DST OS patches 109809-04 and 108993-54. We also installed the tzupdater-1_0_0.zip.
When we tested the starting DST, the system time jumped from 1:59 AM to 3 AM on March 11. This is correct.
But for the ending DST testing, the system time did not fall back to 1:00 AM from 1:59 AM on Nov. 4.
Are there anything wrong with the patches?

Your updated JRE should fall back at 2am - not 1:59 am on sunday morning night Nov4th. Have your test program print off a few hourly values around that time. -

But then the song will have placed by Itunes as #5 of 19 for whatever reason. Itunes does not do this every time, but does it with enough frequency to be maddening. Any thoughts?

The problem of tracks becoming de-linked between iTunes and the music files in your iTunes music folder happens for different reasons - this seems to come up fairly commonly in this forum.
The solution can be to locate each song in the iTunes library, as you mentioned - or, but wait, before I get to that...
trouble finding the original track in your iTunes music folder? maybe look for it under compilations, or if not using the 'group compilations preference' then look in the folder under the songs artist name, but what song artist name iTunes uses depends on what you have in the metedata tag spot for album artist or song artist. Any varyation in artist name spelling, in the menu item 'get info' metadata for any selected individual track will cause iTunes to create that as a separate artist folder in the library, even names like 'various' or any difference at all (even the word 'the' can change where in your iTunes music folder a track gets placed by iTunes). You can try to use the finder function of find file (finder munu item outside of iTunes) to locate hard to find items.
Back to how to re-link any de-linked tracks .
There may be scripts that can help re-link de-linked music files - or, at least provide you a list of such files, Scripts are easy to install and use...

Online banking statement and credit card statements will not display in FF 4.0 on either Win 7 or XP. Falling back to 3.6 fixes problem on both computers and sites.

After upgrading to FF 4.0 I am not able to access or display my bank statements or credit card statements. I have a laptop running Win 7 and a desktop running Win XP and have same problem on both. Statements are in Adobe PDF. Upgraded Adobe to vers. 10 at banks suggestion but did not help. I have now fallen back to FF 3.6 on both PC's, and it now works on both PC's, one running Adobe Reader 9 and the other running Adobe 10.
Additionally, my email provider (bbwi.net) "Squirrel Mail" times out and logs me off every 15 minutes or so in FF 4.0, even when I am actively composing mail. Falling back to FF 3.6 also fixed this problem

Windows home version MSBackup, cannot backup to network drives.
That was a little bonus from Bill for those who didn't fork out for Pro or Ultimate.
Like people with home versions would never need to backup to network drives.. oh no.. never!!
You need to mount the hard disk in windows for it to work.
It will help a lot if you load the airport utility for windows into your windows OS.

Open windows explorer and type the network address of the TC.
\\TCname.local (where TCname is the correct network name of the TC).
The TC should have all names that are windows compatible.. ie
Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule is just wrong. It is too long, it has spaces and it has apostrophe which is illegal.
A good name for the TC is TC
The default hard disk share name of data is fine. It should not be Time Capsule or anything again that is over long .. has spaces or is otherwise incompatible with windows.
A good name for the TC wifi is TCwifi
Then you can mount it \\TC
typing that directly into the address bar of windows explorer.
There are still issues with windows naturally and running in parallels I have no idea what other issues might come up.
Tell me if you have issues.. but you will need most likely to check the network.
Open a command window and ping the TC by name and by IP address. If IP address works just mount by IP.
\\10.0.1.1 for example .. and that is the default TC IP address when in router mode.
If you still cannot access the TC my recommendation is to use a USB drive and use that.. it is 10x easier and more reliable than mixing Mac and windows backups on the TC.

SOLUTION
Open "terminal" on your mac and type the following:
defaults write com.apple.mail IgnoreSortOrderWhenSelectingAfterDelete 1
(copy and past the whole line)
This will stop that behaviour in mail.
It works on most opperating systems.

IPhone 5C refusing to set correct time!

Basically, my iPhone 5C has been absolutely smashing since I got it back in July. It's been to several places where everything has been absolutely fine. Then I took a trip to London not too long ago, where looking at the time on my phone I said "we've got a few hours, lets sight see" (it was a theatre trip) where my friend said "no, we've got about 1 hour 20" and this is the point my iPhone started to drop back on time.
I've contacted Apple about this scenario, I firstly had up to date software, they wanted me to do a backup and restore, it worked... For about 5 minutes. They then wanted me to backup and restore but as new... Worked.. For about 5 hours. But nothing seems to want it to keep to the time!
I have set it manually no end of times. To the time is says on my Macbook and it now takes around 25 minutes to fall behind it. As I post this it's 2 hours and 35 minutes behind with "set automatically" on.
Anybody here having this problem / got an idea what it could be?
(my iMessage and Siri have recently been switching themselves off too and with severe difficulty i've got them back on, and my Wi-Fi connection has been dropping out very quickly while loading up sites on Safari. I don't know if this is part of it too but it's just something to mention incase it is)

It updated itself back to the right time on set automatically earlier, but has fallen behing, I think something is up with it!
