  • DST issues with -14 GMT!!

    Hi Folks,
    I have an application running on java 1.3.1_18, under bea /SQL server and windows 2000. The timezone is PDT. The datetime shows on the UI is -14 GMT ( like double the time zone difference). We updated the OS with appropriate patches with no luck!
    What could be the cause or how to debug such issues?

    as i said, it's a mystery to us all ;-)
    btw the latest timezone CFC uses java epoch offsets instead
    of datetime objects.

  • DST Issues - Brazil

    Gentlemen,
    I am having an issue with my Blackberry Storm 2 (Blackberry 9520).
    I am running the latest OS version for this model (version 5).
    Nevertheless, my Blackberry is synchronizing (with Gmail) all of my appointments which occur in the week starting February 18th as if they were 1 hour off.
    In 2011, we had DST in Brasilia (-3 hours) that ended on February 18th. Nevertheless, in 2012 DST is scheduled to end one week later, on the 26th.
    This error is occurring even though I have the net_rim_bb_timezoneupdater module version 1.0.0.228 installed.
    Please help me with this issue if possible!
    Thank you,
    Leonardo

  • DST Issues - clock jumped two hours forward

    Device: Motorola Moto X
    Android Ver: 4.4.4 (latest for my model)
    I've never had DST issues on any of my phones before, but this weekend, when DST rolled around at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, my phone actually jumped two hours forward instead of just one. I restarted several times since then, to no avail. I've check my clock settings, and everything is correct. I'm in CST time zone. I've got no home times set, or any cities set. My time should be pulling directly from Verizon.
    I honestly am not sure what else I can try other than a factory reset, which I'd like to avoid. Any suggestions? I'm very tech savvy, but I'm honestly lost on this one.
    Thanks,

        Zac_91,
    I am sorry to hear of the issues you are having with the time on your phone. We want to make sure this gets corrected. Thank you for everything you have done thus far. When going to Settings>Date and time is Automatic date & time selected along with Automatic time zone? If so, please uncheck both options and then recheck and power cycle the device. Let us know if the issue persists.

  • Need Help : DST issue

    Hello,
    I am working on a DST issue. In my application , I have a timze zone , CDT and CST GMT -6, where DST is supposed to end on 1nd of nov Sun 2009. As the DST ends , the clocks are moved back to 1 hrs . Means when there will be 2am in the clock, the clock will be reversed back 1 hr and all clocks are adjusted to 1am. i.e. 1 hr more.
    Now in my application , I am putting an entry in the database at 1.01am of 1.12 am 1nov sun 2009. Entry goes well in the data base as user selected. Now at the time specified by customer , i.e. 1.12 am an trigger should pick the entry from db. The trigger would be caused by a poller continuously polling db after 2 mins each for any new entry, matches the current time and db time entered by user , If the diff is less than 120 sec , then only the trigger will be successful and user will be notified for the further process.For above entries Ideally the tigger should successfully be caused at 1.10am , but the trigger is executing right after 1 hr . This is causing b'coz the DST ends at 2am and clocks are reset back to 1 am .
    How can I identify the timezone of the time entered in db, from which I can get the DST offset and send the call to customer appropriately.
    Can any one please tell me how can I handle this situation. How can I make customer and my system in time sync independent of DST. ?
    Plz reply
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    here a small test:
    SimpleDateFormat fmt = new SimpleDateFormat("dd MM yyyy HH:mm:ss z");
    String date1 = "01 11 2009 01:41:15 CDT";
    String date2 = "01 11 2009 01:41:15 CST";
    ParsePosition pos = new ParsePosition(0);
    Date d1 = fmt.parse(date1, pos );
    pos = new ParsePosition(0);
    Date d2 = fmt.parse(date2, pos );If I parse a string as shown above including the timezone specifier CDT or CST, then the parsed dates d1 and d2 differ by one hour. If you omit the specifier, then the parser cannot tell whether you mean CDT or CST, so just one of them is assumed. So the trick is just: Don't forget to include the timezone specifier in the parsed string, and then you will have the corerct result in the parsed dates. If you don't give that information to the SimpleDateFormatter you cannot expect, that the parser will know what to do.

  • DST issue

    Hi All,
    I have a DST issue with the B2B log files.
    The log information does not reflect the DST time change we had a few weeks back.
    The date/time stamp of the file log file:
    -rw-r--r-- 1 orab2b oinstall 9746648 Mar 27 10:46 b2b_4.log
    The date/time stamp WITHIN the log file:
    2008.03.27 at 09:46:35:263: B2BStarter thread: Repository - (DEBUG) CatalogDriver.setBindVariables():
    2008.03.27 at 09:46:35:263: B2BStarter thread: Repository - (DEBUG) Bind Variable : index = 2 value = Quiescing
    2008.03.27 at 09:46:35:264: B2BStarter thread: BusinessLogicLayer - (DEBUG) Pop Stack: queryConfiguration
    2008.03.27 at 09:46:35:264: B2BStarter thread: Repository - (INFORMATION) Exiting Use Case: queryConfiguration
    As can be seen the timestamps within the log file did not "spring forward".
    This is true for all the log files.
    The timestamps in the GUI are fine.
    Also, the unix date command returns the correct time.
    I am missing a patch?
    Thanks in advance.

    Can you make sure both of the server timing are changed according to DST. If yes and still have issues, please setup a telecon and give your timing and phone number.

  • DST issues? For OES2 to OES11 upgrade?

    Hi all
    I have a client with DST working well on a couple of OES2 sp3 64-bit
    servers on vSphere 5.0
    Does anyone here have any experience with such upgrades?
    I'd be pretty sure that the one upgrade path of just rebinding the NSS
    volumes to new servers would be more grief than is worth it. I'd also
    like to avoid the server migration option just because of how much data
    is involved, not even sure if we have enough extra space to go this
    route, plus from our experience with Migrating from NW6.5 to these
    boxes in the beginning (OES2 sp1 at the time) did NOT understand DST on
    the destination.

    We just went through a round of upgrades from OES2 SP3 (physical) with and without DST to OES11/SP1 on VMware
    Now, given your particular setup, I'd think you could be fine with moving the disks. In our case, we needed to do ID transfers, and that could still be done. Setup your target OES11 SP1 VM, do your iPrint, DHCP, etc. migrate them (just not the file services). Do the ID transfer. Power off source VM. "move" the NSS disks (I'm ASSUMING the NSS disks are separate VMware virtual hard disks) to the new OES11 box and voila.
    The only gotcha that I can think of:
    I BELIEVE that if you stored the disks with the virtual machine (default I believe), you have to be VERY VERY careful to NOT "delete from disk" when you remove the OES2 Guest, as I think it'll delete the entire underlying directory which is now where your disks are
    In other words, if you SCP or something to the ESXi host and look at the directory/file structure it'll be something like:
    \OES2-Guest\bunch of .vmdk files
    \OES11-Gust\bunch of .vmdk files
    When you "move" the virtual disks from OES2-Guest to OES11-Guest, it's just pointing to the:
    \OES2-Guest\nssdisk.vmdk files
    You could manually move them around I believe if you want to maintain the proper directory structure.
    Personally that would probably be the biggest time saver for you.
    Otherwise you COULD migrate the file systems with DST but there's some scenarios/caveats involved with that.
    Let me know if you choose the route to actually migrate the DST file systems and I'll explain further.
    But, if it were me, and I had them on VMware, I'd just "move" the disks around.

  • ICloud DST Issues With Outlook

    When I sync my Outlook Calendar into my iCloud Calendar all recurring events that existed before DST are off by 1 hour in iCloud but correct in Outlook. Any ideas?
    So for example I have a recurring event for a daily meeting. This meeting was created in August.
    The meeting takes place daily @ 9:30 AM.
    Right after the time switch over the weekend (Nov 3) the meeting is now showing up at 8:30 AM instead of 9:30 AM in my iCloud calendar but it is displayed corectly @ 9:30 AM in Outlook.
    Any ideas?

    ok...
    From experience, I can tell you the two calendars are both default calendars with iCloud. 'Work in Cloud' probably doesn't contain any of previous inputs because your iphone probably defaults to your regular calendar.
    For me, I was able to get a good understanding by looking at the icloud calendar at icloud.com and the outlook calendar side by side. I recommend doing so, and playing around with things so you can figure out how they work.
    With Outlook, you are going to have locally stored stuff (like Contacts), and your cloud-stored stuff (like Contacts in Cloud). That is why you are seeing two different sets of data. It looks like you dont have any locally stored contact, which is fine. All of your contacts are in iCloud (or...Contacts in Cloud), which should correlate to your iphone. again, it might be best to just pull up icloud.com, and put it side by side with outlook. it helped me get a good understanding of how it works.

  • DST Issue in OEM DBConsole

    I am running 10.2.0.3 database on Windows XP. When I run the OEM 10g Database Console my page refreshed Dat Time is 1 hour behind the sysdate time which just sprung forward at 2am today.
    I followed the instructions in Metalink on the "Quick Fix" to this issue which instructed me to download and run the TZUPDATER.jar from the Sun Java Site on all my JRE direcctories in my Oracle Home.
    My oracore/timezone files are also up to date.
    I did this but I am still getting the incorrect time. All other times are displaying correctly (database, agent, performance metrics, etc.) but not the "Page Refreshed" time on the database console main page.
    Any one out there resolve this issue today? (EST US or GMT -hrs)

    I have the same issue. I copied the tzupdater.jar to the $ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/bin directory. Please see below. What is it missing?

  • DST issue solved for ACS 5.3 ?

                       According to the following articles there is no configuration option for Day Saving Time (DST):
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-23315
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCtr77935
    The workaround mentioned in the article is to manually change the clock. So I was prepared to do this last weekend but to my surprise the winter-time was AUTOMATICALLY changed by the ACS appliance !
    The configs on my side is:
    clock timezone Europe/Amsterdam
    ntp server x.x.x.x
    Do I understand correctly that when 'clock timezone' is configured, the DST settings automatically are configured !

    I'm ACS 4.2 you had to, I don't recall on ACS 5.x. You services need to have that though. I would have to look at my lab ACS. It won't hurt trying it first to see if it works or not.

  • Alarm no more working - NO DST issue

    Hello!
    i had my alarms set up for some months now.
    yesterday i changed my daily alarm (monday to friday) for a few minutes.
    since then the alarm does no longer work, wether i set it one hour earlier nor later.
    is there another possibility to disable the alarms?
    i cant think of anything i did what may cause this problem

    Hi ,
    thank you, but I tried all points / links  since yesterday several times , i can deinstall 5 from 6 apple softwares, i can not deinstall Apple Software Update due an issue with an MSN Software package and i have to contact the owner of the software. Is that maybe the problem ? Also, if i try connect to the itunes store there comes always the error message 42408.
    I dont know what I should do...i having no more ideas, nothing is working: no connection to the itunes store, no connection to the ipod, the ipod could not read on itunes, still on the ipod display the cable with the connection sign to itunes.
    I think I have to bring the ipod tomorrow to the genius bar and ask them to restore my ipod touch.
    Its an nightmare.....

    I have a cluster with 2 app servers and 2 web servers. All 4 have been upgrasded with the MS patches. The 2 app servers have the ESDT Patch 15 for BOXI loaded. But my scheduled jobs are still starting 1 hour later than they should. And when I select Run Now for reports, it also shows 1 hour later than the current time. Do I need to load the ESDT Patch #15 onto the webservers too? All 4 servers have been rebooted too.

    Tim,
    Thank you for your post, and please pardon my ignorance on these next questions....
    I download J2dsk 1.4.2_13 and loaded it per the instructions from the link you provided but after I could not get TomCat to start.
    Just which servers do I need to load this 1.4.2_13 on? I have 2 servers which "I" call application servers, these are the servers with all of the different BO services running on them (job server, cache server, etc.). Then I have 2 servers which "I" call web servers. These 2 have tomcat running on them.
    Could you please specify which servers should get the Java update and which ones should get the CHF15_EDST patch?
    Thank you very much.
