Hi everyone, can someone please help me troubleshoot the patch install problem. I am getting the following error when installing the DST patch on solaris 5.8

Hi everyone, can someone please help me troubleshoot

I think I must have made some mistake in the sequence of steps or some other error....
First let me give some details about my environment
We have two servers
a) test-db
This runs Oracle database and
Reports Server and
Concurrent Manager and
Reports review agent
b) test-app
This runs Forms Metric Server and
Forms Server Listener and
Forms Metric client and
Report Review agent and
HTTP Web server and
Discoverer Server and
Fulfillment server
I am confident that I have correctly followed all steps 1 - 5 of the
document 125767.1
Now step 6
I have installed all the following patches on ONLY test-app
6194129 and
7343387 and
7156414 and
6125732 and
6857221 and
3830807 and
4586086 ( This is where it failed)
Question - Should I have installed these patches on both servers test-app and test-db
Question - should all the patches mentioned in the document be applied
(6194129,7343387,7156414,6125732,6857221,3830807,4586086)
as part of step 6 and step 7 and then move to step 8 ?

Adobe RoboHelp 8.0.2 Patch - Install Error

In the hopes of trying to fix a known bug I ran the 801 patch last week. I immediately tried to run the 802 patch afterwards but it failed. I received an error message that the 801 needed to be installed first. I have uninstalled the 801, reinstalled it and then run the install for the 802 again but still receive the following error: "Adobe RoboHelp 8.0.1 is not installed. Please install Adobe RoboHelp 8.0.1 before applying this patch."
Thoughts?

Sounds plausible and I will pursue this course of action however when I open RoboHelp and look under Help>About RoboHelp it does say it's running 01 so the original patch looks to be successful.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7 installation issue- Patches install error

I am trying to install the OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 apss with odi on a virtual machine. I have installed ODI, OBI, ran the rcu for bi apps and installed the bi aspps also succesfullly without any error. I've reinstalled my laptop, and my LV09 SP1.I've downloaded the LV09 F1 patch, and installed sucessfully, but when I tried to install f2 or f3 I got a message: NI Labview 2009 must be installed before use this patch.

Patch 9 ACS-4.2.0.124-9-SW install error and upgrade advice to 4.2.1

Hi,
I have two Windows ACS's which I need to replicate between each other - this happened in the past (when both at the same lower patch level) , but the original Primary one of the pair one has had to be down graded to it's original level due to install errors. Both are now independant ACS's
To sort out the lack of replication we need to patch the planned PR box from 4.2 (0) Build 124 to the same level as the planned DR which is at 4.2 (1) Build 15 Patch 4.
We've tried installing Patch ACS-4.2.0.124-9-SW on the 4.2 (0) Build 124 as we were informed (some time ago) that it is required before running the ACS-4.2.1.15.4-SW.exe patch.
The patch installed, but when we ran CSUpdate as per the instructions in Acs-4_2_0_124_9-SW-Readme.txt , we tried both the -install option and the -upgrade switch and got a [1] [169]:SL:loadHosts - execution failed Can not load HostDB error. (See screen shot)
After this the ACS services (in Windows Services ) wouldn't start, even after a server reboot.
Should we leave this patch 9 and install cumlative patch 17 instead and then run ACS-4.2.1.15.4-SW.exe patch ?
The read me notes for cumlative patch 4.2.1.15.4.17 looks like it might require Patch 9 as it only lists bug fixes from Patch 10 upwords (although it mentions a refix for 9 right at the bottom of the page).

Getting error after the DST patch - urgent

I am getting the following error message.
Validation Error
Examine and correct the following errors, then retry the operation:
Error - IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect
I have applied the JVM patch and time zone patch without any errors.
Below are the steps to generate the above error message.
1. Launch the EM using browser.
http://MyServerName:1158/em/
2.Login as "sysman" and connect as "Normal".
3. Click on "Maintenance"
4. Click on "Export to Export Files"
5. Select Export Type as "Schemas" and click on "Continue"
The error appears at the above step.
I have Oracle 10g. (Version 10.2.0.1.0) on Windows 2003 Server.
There is no entry in the alert.log.
I have the following entry in "emdctl.trc".

crystl32.ocx was retired in version 8.5 - almost ten years ago... Only reason I mention this is that if MS added something to oledlg.dll that makes the ocx not work, there is absolutely nothing that can be done in terms of fixes.
Now, to try to address the issue, you will have to provide more information:
1) What version of CR are you using?
2) What is the OS you are on?
3) What is the actual error message?
4) Can you duplicate the error on any computer that has the MS patch installed?
5) What message do you get when you try to manually register the ocx?
6) Do you have the latest patches for your version of CR?

DST PATCH on RAC

We have 10.2.0.1 installtion on a two node RAC. In order to apply DST patch we are moving to 10.2.0.3. I was following Oracle Database Patch Set notes and applying the patch. I have upgraded Oracle clusterware and then decided to go with rolling upgrade. After stopping all the services on the first node, when I ran
c:\crs_home\install\Patch102.bat I am getting the following error.
Failed to patch all the files in the ORA_CRS_HOME. Please ensure that all processes running from the home have been stopped.
I went and checked the 2nd node and its services. one of the service
OracleCSService status is showing as starting. I am unable to stop/start even after rebooting the 2nd node.
Does any one has a clue in what is going on? I am unable to proceed further on this. Help is really appreciated.

I could resolve this issue. Oracle is not supporting rolling upgrade for this version. So went with non rolling upgrade. That resolved this issue.

This problem suggests the uninstall.jar is corrupt.
Since this host also has the Gateway and Siebel servers installed, the C:\Windows\vpd.properties includes entries for these servers as well as the now failed SWSE. (I SUGGEST YOU TO BACK UP IT EVERY TIME BEFORE INSTALLING NEW MODULES AND PATCH)
The vpd.properties is a file utilized by the installer and unsupported to edit as it can become corrupt and prevent further patching or uninstallation of the gtwysrvr and siebesrvr.
In order to preserve the use of the vpd.properties, the solution was to perform a reinstallation of the SWSE in a new folder location.
SO, you could delete all rows which include “eappweb”.

OUI patch install hangs, files being used by another application

Hi when a patch install hangs, and the OUI error message is that files needing to be reinstalled are being used by another application, how can you identify which files or processes are responsible so that they can be shut down? All normal Oracle services and DTC are shut down already.
This is patch 6810189 upgrade to 10.2.0.4 (from 10.2.0.3) which includes the April CPU on a Win32 server.

Please check any oracle service is still on ..
need to shutdown listener/oracle service .. and other db service belongs to Oracle.
You can download windows process explorer and check for any oracle process and kill those and then apply CPU

Oracle 8.1.7 Solaris 2.6 Install error

I'm trying to install 8.1.7 on a Solaris 2.6 box (10K domain, with all patches installed according to readme file). The install of the client part works great, but when I go and install the server I get an error saying that make of /opt/oracle/8.1.7/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk has failed.

I think 6.2 is easier, just follow read me instruction, on redhat 7.0 you must run patch to downgrade glibc from 2.2 to 2.1

How do I resolve these Install Errors in Web Premium CS 5.5?

I am receiving install errors for Contribute and Illustrator in Web Premium CS 5.5. All of the other components install. Illustrator shows up as an available program but I receive the following error when I try to open that application:
"The localized resource files for this application could not be loaded. Please reinstall or repair the the application and try again."
The error messages I received are:

I have a log file for the installation but I am not sure how to attach it.

From the log it seems that Flash Player 10 is absent or acting up. Could you reinstall Flash Player 10 Plugin and then try again.
