DT description cann't be seen in MT

Hey there,
Simple but annoying - in order to use the description given in the Data type during mapping faze
I need to see it during mapping.
Problem is that the description from the data type don't pass to the Message type.
Anyone encountered this issue? if so how it was resolved?

really strange........
well just for testing - do one thing create a new data type with some descriptions for some fields and create a msg type for it...... now tell me can you see the descriptions in this new msg type or not? if you can see the descriptions here, then i think it can be a cache related issue....close IR.......go to transaction SXI_CACHE and do a complete cache refresh........open IR again and again open your earlier msg type........now are you able to see the description - if not, just edit your msg type, choose data type again in it, save and activate it.........now i think your msg type should have data type descriptions in it...........and your msg mapping will then have descriptions in it.......

Workflow Task Number and Email Description Can't be seen in QA Server

Dear All,
I have created a workflow; in which I want to send an email to management personnel, when someone change the quantity of Purchase requisition. It is working quite fine in Development server, but when this workflow is transported to test server, I cannot see the title, task and email description of that wokflow in SWDD. It is transported in 600, but task number description of email and title dissappeared. What can be the problem? What I have to do in this regards.

Hi,
you should've send this to the appropriate forum (the workflow forum)
I would first start by checking the transport logs to see if indeed everything is present in the QA server.
Then I would check if everything is up and running in the QA server, espescially the workflow customizing.
Then I would check if the appropriate background jobs for handling emails is running correctly.
Then I would test if you can create a simple message in S00 or System-->short message and send that to you.
If this doesn't solve it or give you directions I would create a message in the workflow forum explaining your situation.

Problem in choosing Long Description Attribute in AWM

While creating a dimension,both Short Description Attribute and Long Description Attribute can not be checked in simultaneously.Even though I tried to check both the options while creating but during data mapping it is showing only short description attribite.
Is there any workaround you can give me to declare both Short and Long Description Attribute simultaneously.

How to round value of container element in task description

I am trying to round the value of the container element from 3 decimals to 2 decimals for display purposes.
The command symbol in the task description is &_WI_Object_Id.OverallTotalCost&. I have looked at SAP Help and I have tried the suggestion of &_WI_Object_Id.OverallTotalCost(.2)& and &_WI_Object_Id.OverallTotalCost(Z.2)& with no success.
I have also searched the sap-wug mailing list and SAP ITToolBox and found no references rounding a container element in a task description. I have seen code assigning a value to a packed decimal variable to round. But I have not been able to get this to work as a command in a description for a task.

I created a new element in the container as suggested by Glauco and added the element binding in the workflow / task binding. Biggest hassle was finding a business object that had a type of 2 decimal places to use for the new container element.
The reason why the SAPScript symbol for reducing the number of decimals does not work in Task texts is because the container elment symbols are resolved first as text. Therefore only the SAPScript commands that apply to text will work like length.

Multi language description of data types - xsd export

Hi,
with PI 7.1 there is a new feature for multi language field description (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/9f/fdd13fa69a4921e10000000a1550b0/content.htm) in the repository.
If you change the display language, the description language is also changed.
If you want to export the XSD of the data type, the description in XSD depends on the display language.
Does anybody knows a way to export a XSD with both language description.
I remember seen a XSD with the xml:lang tag.

If assuming if a Element is only present in 1 Language pack, that SCSM defaults to that?
yes. Hence you should be able to get away with manually removing the secondary language packs. There is however a slight chance that some Ids have no displaystring in the primary language pack.

Email attachment description issue

Hi Gurus,
Our issue is not really BI but we're not sure which other forum to post it under:
We're broadcasting to burst PDF reports to an internal web portal (not BI Portal). The portal has Sharepoint as backend, which is having problems parsing the attachment file because SAP's email service is appending a description tag to the email. This tag has the name of the file without the .pdf. Sharepoint reads this tag and thinks the file has no extension.
This description field can be seen in SAP Business Workplace (SBWP) /New Message/Create Attachment../Attachments tab. Does anyone know how to modify this field so it includes the file extension, or remove this field altogether when the email is sent?

From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies
Delete all AT&T cookies. Relaunch Safari. Try sending an e-mail w/attachment. If you still have problems, go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Reset Safari. Select the first 7 buttons, click Reset.
Now try again. If you still can't send an attachment, Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
And repair disk permissions...
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Error embed / insert Flash CS3 9.0 swf in Acrobat 8.1.2

Goal: embed Flash swf file in Acrobat pdf.
Software: Flash CS3 9.0, Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Mac OS 10.5.2 (all updates applied as available 3/27/08). If it matters: Quicktime Player 7.4.1. All swf files are associated to open with Flash Player 9 (9,0,115,0).
Hardware: PowerMac Dual 2GHz G5, 9.5 GB RAM
Error Description: This error is seen on 2 out of 3 PowerMacs; the 3rd PowerMac will inexplicably work. Here is what is done to receive error: Open pdf document in Acrobat. Select Movie Tool from Advanced Editing Toolbar, choose swf file from Desktop (pdf file is also saved on Desktop to eliminate network considerations). All defaults are retained in dialog window, when "OK" is pressed, status message "Initializing authoring system" appears and remains indefinitely. "Cancel" is pressed and produces following error message window: "Cannot create the movie annotation because the movie could not be loaded. This can occur if the file cannot be found or the URL is unreachable (make sure proxy server settings are correct)."
Adobe Support claims Leopard incompatibility with embedded Quicktime 7.3.1 (I have updated to 7.4.1). Also, AS recommended file association of swf to Flash Player exclusively. Have taken all actions recommended...still have problem.
Anyone have any ideas?

I believe that the latest version of QuickTime which you no doubt have installed does not support the latest version of Flash (9.0). Since Acrobat depends on QuickTime for multimedia in Acrobat 8 Professional, this feature breaks.
What needs to happen is for the next version of Acrobat to support Flash directly, not using QuickTime.

How to clear GRIR with ARCHIVED matl doc? - MR11 won't work

Hi All,
I am having a problem in which the material document(GR document) of the P.O has been archived,but the user is trying to do MR11 which will obiviously not work as the GR/IR accounting maintenance checks for the reference documnet and is not able to find the GR documnet, which in the above case has been archived.
So could any one please guide me
1) If MR11 can be done then how?,as it will not select the P.O in question
2)Are there any SAP notes for the same.(I searched for them but couldn't able to find one)

Are you sure that for the P.O in question whose material document cann't be seen in SAP(Archived/deleted) the system should be proposed in the P.O for GR/IR posting?
Yes I am certain. but precondition is that your GR was posted to the GR/IR account.
Could you please let me if there are any procedure to delete that P.O line item in question whose material doc(GR document) has been deleted.
A Po whose material doc has been deleted can be flagged for deletion as any other PO. Just select the items and click the trash can.
I think I have given the minimum selection criteria only company code, posting date, and vendor(to narrow down the search) and the purchase order date from and to (to include that particular P.O's document date)
The minimum selection criteria is NO selection criteria. Especially if the error is caused thru a wrong selection, you will never know, if you dont run it without the selection criterias.

I found a very old bug that says this problem is already fixed in Solaris 10 although the bug description says
its mostly seen on Solaris 8 and 9.

The bug says that these errors are displayed when StorADE 2.1 is running its rasagent cron job, which executes a luxadm display.
This process runs in the background so the user is not aware that another luxadm display process is running.
Work-around: Do not run Storade rasagent cron job at same time as another luxadm display process.
I hope this might help to debug this problem but I puzzled why this might be happening if its already fixed.
Let me know if the workaround helps or so I can follow-up with the right support team.

How Product category contract replicate from SRM to ECC?

     I work with SRM 7.0.   I have reliazed that contract with product ID replicated to ECC , it is a standar way.   But the contract without Product ID ,only product category and description    cann't be replicated to ECC.    why?   how I do ?

I made e some change in ECC . and the error info is "Combination item category W /account assignment category U not defined" in BD87 .
     item category 'W' is material group in ECC.
how will i do ?

     I made the setting in ECC to permit 'Combination item category W /account assignment category U', and the contract can reach the ECC.    in ECC, the contract item category is 'W' (material group).      actually, in ECC ,material group contract can be created wihtout 'W'.    the MM consultant also don't except 'W' as item category, should as empty.   Will I do some change in SRM . how to do ?

     By testing, I found the situation:
    when creating contract, in item, if I select Item Category as 'Product Category' , then I can't input 'Product ID' ,'Unit', 'Price', etc.   I can only input main info such as 'Target Quantity' 'Target Value' etc.
     when the contract is generated in ECC.     the item category is 'W' , Target Quantity is empty, Price is empty, the Target value that is input in SRM    is disapeared,   in other words, this kind of contract don't have price (value) .
      is it normal?
      my business expect it is like with product ID. can this be realized?

[SOLVED] Printer prints garbage text - Error with pstoraster

I have a Epson Stylus C43SX printer, which is connected to LPT#1.
When I try to print something, the printer will print garbage text.
From cups manager browser interface ( http://localhost:631 ), if I try to print the test page, it prints out garbage.
If I select 'Print self-test page', the cups manager reports an error -
"/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster failed"
The description of printer, as seen on cups manager page -

I can print properly again. I reinstalled arch and added the printer using cups http interface.

Help! Im about to throw the compter through the window

AHHHHHHHHHHH! Ok, Ive been working on fixing this problem for the past 2 days. Im so frustrated. I started by upgrading to 6.0, first, it worked, then it stopped working. Now I get an error about quicktime. Its basically saying I have the wrong version installed. I have the latest, and I have done a independant download from quicktime, and it still wont work. I un-installed everything, made sure my updates are current. Turned off my firewall, and my anti-virus, re-booted, re-loaded, and its still NOT working.
Being so frustrated, and just wanting my darn music back, I tried downloading the old version of iTunes, and it has some funny error, Im not sure I did it right, as the page the download was on was sorta weird.
Can any of you help???

apologies for the nosy question, but did this start happening after you installed a codec pack of some description?
i've seen cases of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.38 breaking itunes 5.0.x in that way (they started claiming they only had QT 6.5.2 installed), and i've seen Ace Mega Codec Packs breaking itunes 6.0.x (although they usually break with an "itunes has encountered an error ..." message).
(i'm trying to get a handle on how widespread the problem is.)

Workflow sendmail step hyperlink length too long

Hi all,
I have read threads to minimize the hyperlink lenth using SICF aliasing. But I am using a dynamic hyperlink whose lenth is 235(Max 255) characters.
As there's a restriction to accomodate only 132 characters in a line, I am splitting the link into four parts. But, I am unable to display the entire link. Can the dynamic hyperlink be shortened using SICF alias approach? If so, pls provide the steps.

Ok, I see. Check at least OSS for your problem unless you didn't already. For example note 1326061 (SAP does not "support" hyperlinks in WI description).
I have seen solutions in which they have managed to add long hyperlinks to work item description (not sure though if this will work in email). The solution included separating the hyperlink into several container elements and then using some sap script tricks (which I don't unfortunately remember) to make it work even when the hyperlink text was in several rows, etc.
For the SICF alias thing I don't have an answer.

KF defaulting to multiple sources, both defined at more granular planning levels

I hope this will be an easy one for you Personally, I have been trying to figuring out how to overcome this issue and I must admit that I am short of solution.
So here is the situation:
I have two sets of data for my actual sales :
- First one is loaded at planning level @ Period | Product | National Group | Point of Sales(POS)
- The other is loaded @ Period | Product | National Group | Ship-To Party
To get a valid portrait of my actual sales, I must compare these two sets of data at a common planning level (i.e. @ Period | Product | National Group).
Then, the adjusted result must be "re"disaggregated @ Period | Product | National Group | Point of Sales, the base planning level used to forecast.
Based on what I could understand from SAP2 model, I created the following key figures:
ActualsQtyPOS : Stored at base planning level @PERPRODNATPOS and calculated @PERPRODNAT. Here are the 2 calculation definitions I used:
ActualsQtyPOS@REQUEST = SUM ("ActualsQtyPOS@ERPRODNATPOS")
ActualsQtyPOS@PERPRODNAT = SUM ("ActualsQtyPOS@ERPRODNATPOS")
ActualsQtyShipTo : Stored at base planning level @PERPRODNATSHIPTO and calculated @PERPRODNAT. Defined with this calculation:
ActualsQtyShipTo@REQUEST = SUM ("ActualsQtyShipTo@PERPRODNATPOS")
ActualsQtyShipTo@PERPRODNAT = SUM ("ActualsQtyShipTo@PERPRODNATPOS")
AdjustedActualsQty : Created at base planning level @PERPRODNAT. This KF must be stored and editable. The value must be defaulted to ActualsQtyPOS@PERPRODNAT, unless no data exist (then, default to ActualsQtyShipTo@PERPRODNAT).

So far, the best result that I got was to default the good value in AdjustedActualsQty based on the calculation rule above. But my core problem persists: I am not able to edit manually the defaulting value and save the new value in the database.
Based on my comprehension, the problem would be related to ActualsQtyPOS and ActualsQtyShipTo Key Figures. Both are stored at a more granular planning level, and then calculated @PERPRODNAT level. In addition to storing them at their base planning level, would it be possible to store the aggregated results at a higher level (@PERPRODNAT)? This way, I would be able to use them as stored input in AdjustedActualsQty@PERPRODNAT calculation and duplicate the AdjustedActualsQty KF used in SAP2.
Any help would be greatly appreciate.
(I tried to summarize the best I can, don't hesitate if you need more details on some points.)

you dont need access to HANA, it is pure config
Go to Configuration -> Miscellanious --> Manage Planning Operator
If not existing yet, create a new type by clicking on teh white "sheet" symbole "create new" on the right side.
In the popup enter the EXACT name COPY (not more than one possible):
Provide info for "Add Job Procedure" and "Schedule Procedure":
Add Job Procedure = "SAP_SFND"."sap.sop.sopfnd.catalogue::SOPAPI_OPERATOR_SCHEDULER_JOB_ADD"
Schedule Procedure = "SAP_SFND"."sap.sop.sopfnd.catalogue::SOPAPI_EXECUTE_SCHEDULER_COPY_JOB"
Than add you operator lines by clicking on the plus symbol
with the following parameter:
DURATION
PERIOD_OFFSET
SOURCE_KFID1
SOURCE_KFID2
DURATION: e.g. 24 if you want to copy 24 months
PERIOD_OFFSET: e.g. 0 when you want to copy starting current months, or -1 if you want to start previous months
SOURCE_KFID1: starting keyfigure FROM which you copy. MUST NOT have any UoM or currency conversion
TARGET_KFID1: your target keyfigure. UoM or currency conversion in here is allowed
You could have SOURCE_KFID2 and TARGET_KFID2 as well. And you can have more than just one line.
Flag the batch and filter mode flags, but not interactive (not supported yet)
Provide a useful DESCRIPTION as that is seen by the users
Make sure that not too many users get the authoriozation for it as if you execute that withiout a filter accidentially it does not only change all values, but if you run more than one at a time that migt get to conflicts. Like normal batch jobs: You usually give admins or power users access
It copies on the very lowest possible level. You cannot tell the system as in APO-DP to copy on an aggregated level. PLus, source and target kf must have the same planning level. So you may copy from a calculated kf that does the calculation on the level of the target kf

Keyword sorting

Hi and thanks for taking the time. I just upgraded to iPhoto '11(version 9) from version 7...not sure the year. I have been using keywords a lot and I would export the photo after adding keywords so the keywords would be part of the photo. For the past few years both jpegs and tiff images exported the keywords in the order I added them under the pic in iPhoto 7. However the past few months the tiffs would randomly rearrange the keyword order I had...jpegs exported in the order I wanted the keywords. Now with the new version of iPhoto no matter what order you add the keyword it will sort them alphabetically when your done so nothing I export has the keywords in the order I choose. I've read here people aren't happy with the new way keywords are shown only in the info area but no mention of the change to alphabetical order. Am I missing something or is there a way to order keywords randomly and export them in that order like in iPhoto 7? The order helps when there are multiple people in a pic. I try to get people to pose alphabetically for me but it can be difficult. Thank you.

Hi Terrence. I was re-looking at your reply today. What are you referring to as caption? Are you meaning where it says add a description? I don't actually see the term caption. I used keywords for this originally because I wasn't sure if the description field would be seen in the meta tags as easily as keywords. Seems it does and thats how I will go forward. I wasn't sure what the best way to do it when I started but it seems now from your reply the description box (if thats what you mean by caption) is where I should be putting names in the order they are in on the pic.
