DTA Purge and Archive (BizTalkDTADb) - is the backup part redundant?

BTS_BizTalkDTADb_Full_BTS_2014_08_11_00_00_00_700.bak comes from Backup BizTalk Server (BizTalkMgmtDb)
BTS_BizTalkDTADb_Aug_11_2014_11_35PM.bak comes from DTA Purge and Archive (BizTalkDTADb)
Are these two functionally the same if I need to restore?
Also, is there a way to set DTA Purge and Archive to use local time because it is creating the backups during business hours.

As la Cour states, they serve different purposes and you can schedule the DTA Purge and Archive any way you want, once a day at 0300 for example.
You could also do the same for Backup BizTalk Server so long as you would still meet any SLA.
You also have the option to purge only on the DTA database, meaning no archive files are produced:

  • DTA Purge And Archive(SSODB)

    Hi all,
In Sql Agent jobs I am Seeing two jobs
    1.DTA Purge and Archive (BizTalkDTADb)
    2.DTA Purge and Archive (SSODB)
The job for first is succeded and but for 2nd its failing again and again in Job activity Monitor.
Can i Know how to configure 2 one that is for SSODB

As name suggests DTA Purge and Archive job is meant to purge data from DTA DB.
There isn't any job for SSO DB, also SSO DB will have important configuration related data which should not be touched(forget about purging).
So I would suggest you to look into DTA Purge and Archive job to see what exactly is the function of that job and if it is pointing to SSODB and trying to harm it, delete that job.
Below is a very good article from Microsoft which gives complete information about all the BizTalk related jobs, please have a look it will be definitely very helpful.

  • Oracle EBS Data Purging and Archival

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is any tool available in market for Oracle EBS data purging and Archival?
    Thanks,

yes, there are 3rd-party tool available which will apply a set of business rules (ie all data older than Nov.1, 2007) through the various Oracle modules implemented at a customer site.
They are 3rd-party tools; You can go to Oracle.com and look in partners validated integration solutions. At the moment there are 2 partners offering such integrated solution:
Solix EDMS Validated Integration with 12.1
    IBM Optim Data Growth Solution
the only other solution is to hire OCS for a customized developed solution

  • Accessing purged and archived calendar entries

I've been using Palm Calendar since 2003 (Palm Vx, Palm m500, Treo 680), but have never purged.
Now that I've got +32,000 entries, the sync takes too long and the phone takes more than a minute to respond if I select any calendar entry.
So I think I'll need to purge. My questions are:
    1. How can purged and archived entries be accessed? Would that be the DateBook.dba file?
    2. Does each successive archived purge add entries to the same file or do them overwrite the previous file with only the most recently purged items?
I'm sorry if the answers to these questions have already been posted, but I couldn't find them in any thread.
    Thanks,
    Max

Just found out the answers using Palm's Live Support:
Max Brenner says: I'd like to know how to read purged items
Tom says: You can open it from PalmDesktop. It will be saved as archive. You can open the archive file.
    Max Brenner says: file/open archive/DateBook.dba?
Tom says: Yes. You are right.
Max Brenner says: Then what happens with this file the next time I purge again after a few months?
Tom says: It will be saved in that dba file.
Max Brenner says: but will previously archived files remain there too? Or will they be overwritten?
Tom says:  It will be overwritten that information.
Max Brenner says: So I'll want to back it up first. Is it possible to merge the content of 2 dba files?
Tom says: Yes, You can do it by importing 2 dba files. Then export the entire information to a dba file.
Max Brenner says: Last question. Is there a limit of how many entries Palm Desktop can handle on my Treo 680?
Tom says: There is no limit until the memory gets full.
Max Brenner says: Ok. Thank you so much, Tom!
Tom says: You are most welcome!

I dowloaded ios5 for my iphone4, and when i finished the backup i lost all the music and all the videos i bought from the iTunes store. How can i get it back?

Backup do not contaiuns music or apps, you will either need to resync them from your itunes computer, or you can go to purchase history in itunes or app store app and go to purchase history and redownload them.

I did a backup from my 3G and want to get the backup now on my iPhone 4, but the backup from the old 3G is not shown as an option to configurate. How do I get the information on my new phone?

First, back up your old iphone manually:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your old phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.
About backups and what's saved: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
How to back up and restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
How to download apps for free again:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
After that, connect your new phone and let iTunes set it up. iTunes will detect the old 3G backup and ask you, if you want to use it to restore the info on your new iphone. If you agree, all settings and data will be present after the process is finished.
This is also explained in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137

i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?

Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

  • I have an iMac OS X 10.6.8 and have problems with the backup Disk for Time Machine disconnecting itself with the message that I ejected it improperly.. It ejected itself - why?

I have an iMac OS X 10.6.8 and have problems with the backup drive to Time Machine ejecting itself and so does not automatically backup the way it is meant to do. It is connected with an USB cable to my iMac. What could cause this - malfuntioning drive?

The "iLife" apps are not part of any Mac operating system install and are a separate purchase.
Once you get past 10.6.6 you can purchase and download iPhoto, GarageBand and iMovie. iWeb and iDVD have been discontinued.
Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and higher include the App Store application which is what you use to purchase Lion.

  • HT201210 I tried to update to IPad 5.1, but when it finished and tried to restore the backup, it shows me that Itunes could not back up because a session could not be started with iPad. need your help please

I tried to update to IPad 5.1, but when it finished and tried to restore the backup, it shows me that Itunes could not back up because a session could not be started with iPad. need your help please

This has happened to me a couple of times and what I do is quit iTunes and restart my Mac and then try again and then it will work.
If iTunes has already created the backup, you should still be able to restore from the backup when you are connected to iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side of iTunes and select restore from backup. After the process completes, sync with iTunes to transfer all of your apps, music, photos and other media back onto the iPad.

I'd take it into my local APple store and have them look at it. There may be something wrong inside your device.

  • Which user is used to pick-up and archive files using the file adapter?

    Hi guys,
which one it is? is it XIPADM?
    thank you,
    Olian

    Hi! Olian,
You can get archive the file from FTP Server also or else even you can kept the folderrs in your local machine also....its your choice..
Suppose if you want to Keep and archive directory or else a folder of another copy at which you are sending files from XI  you can follow the below steps...
    1. While configuring the Sender File Adapter you can select the option of ARchive directory ....there in File Adapter Parameters..
    2. Select that radio button and then create first one seperate folder in FTP location and then you can enter that directory path name in the Archive directory 3. Also if you want to delete the files from where the XI is picking the files from the source directory means select option called Delete.......
    3. Then automatically it will be deleted once the file is picked and also it can maintain another copy file in the archive folder or directory...
I hope it can be useful to you.and this is sufficent to you...

  • Time machine takes very long time and does not finish the backup

    Hi,
Time machine is unable to backup my 2014 Mackbook Air 128 GB Drive anymore.
I have tried numerously to initiate a backup but it could only backup a very small volume, less than 1KB, then stall for hours without any progress.
I tries to repair my volume, using the Disk Utility, but it still does not backup, except for the 1K progress.
I have noticed that "Spot Light" indexing is also taking forever.  It has been indexing for days without any pogress.
    What is going on.
What should I do to fix it.
My latest successful backup was on Jul 25.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes.) You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard."
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Note the timestamp of the last "Starting" message that corresponds to the beginning of an an abnormal backup. Now
CLEAR THE WORD "Starting" FROM THE TEXT FIELD
so that all messages are showing, and scroll back in the log to the time you noted. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ If all you see are messages that contain the word "Starting," you didn't clear the text field.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • I backed up before restoring my iPod and I cannot find the backup

I recently had issues with a forgotten passcode so I restored my iPod, but I also backed it up beforehand, and now I cannot find the backup, it had really important notes and the only notes that were deleted were the important ones. Can someone please help me?? I've tried WonderShare Dr Fone for iOS and other programs and none of them show the backup.

If you backed up to iTunes then what is listed in iTunes>Preferences>Devices?
Where are iTunes backups stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press Return.
For how to restore from backup see:
